Shoes, shoes and more shoes....wait these are way too expensive...! (Frog)

Jasmine was, as had turned out to be the norm, annoyed. She was standing in front of a shoe store, glaring through the window at a pair of boots but more importantly the price tag. They were incredibly expensive and that was a problem for not only was Jasmine broke, she was also in desperate need of a new pair of shoes. The current pair she had were donated to her by an old family friend which, sadly, meant they were already very worn. All the use since then had only worsened their condition, resulting in them starting to fall apart.

"Hmmmp....why have they got to be so expensive....! Uwaaaah....why'd my fortune have to be stolen from me..." With an annoyed huff and a childish pout, the former heiress twisted on her heels and began to walk away searching for a hopefully cheaper shoe store or just anywhere that sold shoes! She had no problem buying a second hand pair if they were cheap and clean! Maybe she'd be able to find a charity shop or something like that! Anything that she could use to make the most of the pitiful finances she had remaining after quitting her job.

Frog was walking around in his squeaky clean brand new shoes that his moderately well-off family could easily afford him, as it would be simply preposterous to use the same shoes longer than a couple years at most! They'd all begin falling apart, what with Frog's incessant walking and wearing them down. So he had new shoes, a pair of brilliantly green ones that both made him stand out and made him feel oh so very good about himself. He liked being the center of attention so long as people didn't come into contact with him, so wearing bright green shoes was probably one of the easiest ways to attain what he wanted and needed.

Now, what he was also holding was a big, heavy looking bag over his shoulder, that seemed to contain something craggy within it. This was the bag he used to carry roller skates around when he had to walk in some places. But today was a special case because he also forgot to take out his old pair of shoes from said bag, as he'd left them there last time he roller skated, in the meantime receiving a brand new pair of shoes that made him totally forget about the old one. He'd realized he was carrying them when he was putting his skates on but by then it was already too late. He'd just take them out once he got home.

He paid little heed to the woman looking at expensive boots as he walked through Backlight. He mostly just snorted under his voice. "Dumb people buying dumb expensive shoes for dumb reasons. Heh." He said to himself, sure that no one would be paying attention to his words in a crowded mall.

It the midst of her despaired obsessing over the shoes she could not afford, Jasmine heard an oh so very smug sounding voice from behind her. Jasmine stepped back from the window and turned to face Frog, glaring daggers into his back as he began to walk away. However, her eyes swiftly dropped down to look at his shoes and..she burst out laughing. A laugh as mocking as there ever could be.

"R-really? You're judging me for desiring these reasonably priced boots when you wear such tacky footwear? Oh that is rich! I know you peasants have terrible taste but this takes the entire bakery!" Jasmine did not need to inform this poor fool that the shoes she wanted were honestly rather reasonably priced. She was simply so broke from having quit her job, due to her having been touched in the wrong place one time too many, and not having found a replacement yet.

Among the shoes Frog noticed Jasmine looking at, there were various prices. He simply assumed she was going for the pricier ones, as she mentioned them being expensive. He didn't have the perspective to look at reasonably priced boots as expensive since he'd never been poor.

Now then, to the events unfolding. He swiftly turned towards Jasmine, his heart dropping like a rock. He wasn't expecting her to hear him! Like, of course, but she must've had some spider sense or something to be able to pick his smug remark out of the whole crowd. And then she began smiling at his shoes. His beautiful reflective fully neon green shoes. They were no laughing matter, they were fashion!

"A-at least it's rich! Unlike you!" He remarked back without thinking, acting purely defensively and twisting her words back at her. "People like you just like tacky boots with like, jewels on them and stuff, like those." He pointed towards a pair of boots near the reasonably priced ones Jasmine had been looking at. He obviously thought she'd been looking at those rather than the ones she was really looking at. "You wouldn't understand my fancy fashion even if you tried!"

"What? What foolishness do you speak of you moronic peasant? I have no interest in such gaudy forms of wealth! Gems belong on necklaces or rings! Not on shoes!" Of course Jasmine wouldn't understand this man's tastes. He was so poorly afflicted with bad taste that the requirement for one to appreciate his gaudy shoes would require serious brain damage!

"The only thing rich about your shoes is the fact you think they're good! You must be incredibly poorly uninformed to appreciate such tacky footwear! The only decent shoes I see are these!" That was when Jasmine pointed to a pair of pitch black half boots, sparsely decorated except for white spirals on the right side of one shoe and the left side of the other.

"Those are decent shoes! Attractive enough to compliment without drawing attention away from myself but also functional! Unlike your's! Your's may be functional and practical, but they're so brightly coloured as to detract from the rest of your ensemble! I understand you peasants have poor taste but I wasn't expecting you to have been raised in a sewer!" How could any adult raised in a civilised world condone such terrible footwear?

"Wha-" The woman continued insulting him and his shoes, but that wasn't what caught Frog off guard. No, what caught him off guard was that she pointed at a pair of actually decent looking shoes to make an example of the kind of footwear she appreciated. Frog was inclined to disbelieve her since she totally sounded like some rich snobbette, but like... what if she was actually honest? Did she enjoy functionality over the gaudiness of one's shoes? Sure her motives seemed to be that shoes mustn't be flashier than the person wearing them, so that was totally a rich bitch thing for her to say, but uhh... the rest not so much.

"You're just hating on my shoes, only normies would hate on this beautiful pair of neon green shoes on my feet!" He retorted, holding one foot forward and pointing at the shoe on it. She was totally a normie if she wasn't a rich snob then, that's what he'd decided. "The shoes you pointed there are totally cool and I respect you for that if that's the kind of shoes you like, butttt...." He glanced at the well-worn out pair she was wearing. "...why not buy them then, they're not that pricy. I thought you were like rich. At least you speak like you're rich."

"If having good taste makes me a "normie" then I suppose I am one!...Whatever a normie is..." Of course these peasants would use silly slang in their vocabulary. It was to be expected. Jasmine made a mental note to bother Cecil about what a "normie" was later on. She was hating on this peasant's shoes because they were ugly, tacky and worst of all distracting! What was the point of shoes if they distracted from the rest of you?

"....Tch.....you lack tact....and I speak like I'm rich because I am! I just...had my fortune stolen from me....!" Jasmine folded her arms and pouted, glaring not with frustration but full-blown anger. She dared not say who was responsible for stealing her fortune on account of it being the queen, and also the fact this neon green shoe wearing fool may serve the queen, but Jasmine knew EXACTLY who was to blame! The queen's government had refused to accept her claim of who she was and cast her out.

"So typical of a normie to not understand how people like me talk. 'What's a normie?' duh just google it." He grinned. "And no, being a normie means having normie taste!" Frog retorted fiercely, folding his arms and mirroring Jasmine's pose. He began tapping his foot on the ground as he ran out of comebacks to throw back at her. "Rich but without cash, hmm?" He raised his eyebrow. "Guess you're just lying to yourself at this point. Can't be helped." He shrugged.

"But huh I thought stories like that were just for aristocrats playing some political economical mumbo jumbo games with each other from their castles. Meeting one in person is frankly surreal." He raised an eyebrow. The realization hit him all of a sudden, like a bubble of air bursting from underwater. It really was weird seeing something like this in, well, reality. Made him feel kinda privileged.

"...........You have exhausted my patience you uneducated culturally backwards peasant." Jasmine was going to simply walk away, having decided that this uneducated peasant was not worth dealing with but then he just had to accuse her of not actually having her birth right. She lowered her arms, faced the man and then slapped him square across the face. This was the first time in a VERY long time that she had felt this angry.

"If you ever dare insult me by insinuating I don't have access to my birth right I will do far worse to you." To make it clear that she meant business Jasmine REALLY wanted to kick him in the nether regions but perhaps that was a little too extreme. She didn't want to get arrested after all but on the other hand? She had already slapped him. Some part of Jasmine really wanted to step on this annoying man's toes but what she really wanted? Was to just take his money for herself.
