Water Park Episode!!! [Callie and Gabe]

After hanging out with Callie, Gabe made sure to tell her to meet him at a particular place in sunlake palms. However, he didn't necessarily say what the reason was for or even the name of the place. The only thing that Gabe said was to bring a bathing suit and meet him at the cross streets. It could have been seen as weird, but Gabe felt like no one was really paying the girl any mind, or even the feeling of parental guidance of doing fun and exciting things and going on trips. It was even harder to be confined to the city, but having a friendship with Gabriel Gatsby meant that he would go above and beyond for that person.

"Hmm, I wonder if she figured out we were going to the Sunlake Swimming Society today?"

The big surprise was that Gabe wanted to take her to a water park, Callie could play with other little kids and have a good time. Gabe would most likely supervise,  but watching Callie have her fun was an easy job.  Of course, Callie can't pay for it all, but Gabe took a liking to the child and figured that these occasional nice things that he did for others weren't out of the ordinary.

It was somewhere around this area that she was told to go, right? Callie would stare around herself to try and get an idea of where exactly she was and tried her best to remember exactly what it was Gabe had told her to find him. She'd been to busy thinking about that Playhouse place Gabe had mentioned to really take in everything else he had told her after that, which reminded her it was going to be really hard not to say anything about what happened later that night now. Though she knew she had to, it was just going to be tough. She knew Terra would stop her before she could make the mistake though, so it should be fine.

Either way, the young girl was sure that Gabe had told her to bring something with her... Though when he originally said what it was, she'd never heard of it before and... Well, she forgot to ask and then kinda forgot what it was he said to ask someone once she got home. Hopefully it wouldn't be too important to what he had planned. For now though, the hooded girl would almost mindlessly wander around where she thought she was told to be, trying to keep an eye out for Gabe until. "Oh! There you are~!" Callie chimed to herself as she spotted her target in question, lightly jogging over to meet Gabe properly. "Heya! I found you~!"

"Yes! You did! You found me, then again..i wasn't too sure if you were going to be able to. I was pretty close to getting a sign that said "Callie, Gabe is here!" and wave it was frantically as I possibly could. But luckily for us, such thing wasn't needed and we seem to be good to go!"

Gabe was happy that she managed to show up, but he wasn't sure if she remembered his instructions. No matter, they would sell bathing suits for kids inside the water park, right? Gabe could let her handle it and pick out something that she wanted, maybe some kind of animal balloon inner tube. Kids liked that stuff, right?

"Oi oi, why do I feel like my parents?"

It was a little bit of a shudder for Gabe, participating in all of thee activities for the sake of it all.

"So do you know why we are here today? It's because, I'm taking you to an all expenses paid trip to the sunlake swimming society! It's like a water park for kids and young adults. Not too big, but it's like that place...what was it called.. I saw commercials of it when I was young! Splish splash, something along the lines. I always wanted to go so I thought it would be popular among kids your age."

Gabe felt mighty proud of himself.

"No need to thank me, I just hope you have fun! But... did you bring a swim suit?"

Callie would laugh and shake her head at Gabe's silly comment when she found him. "Hehe, you're just being silly. You know, you kinda remind me of 8D sometimes, you both have your very weird moments. Not that that's a bad thing at all~!" The girl teased with a light hearted sigh. Man she wished 8D had more time to spend with her, it seemed he'd gotten busy again recently so she only really saw him at night when she went home. At least he was back at all though, better than him being completely gone for the past year!

"U-uhh..." The young vixen went wide eyed with light horror as Gabe described to her what his plan was for today. "U-uh... I, uh, uhhh... Ahh, uh, ehm, uhh, hmm..." She tried to mutter out some words but just nothing coherent would come out. W-why did it have to be a water park? This would be really bad, not only did she hate water, there was no way she'd be able to wear a swim suit without revealing her ears and tail... As much as she didn't want to hurt Gabe's feelings, she had to think of something to get out of this situation, surely there was something else they could do around here instead! "I, uh... D-don't think that's such a great idea... I-I'm, uhm..." Callie paused for a second and looked around as if hoping an idea would just magically be found if she looked for it. "I'm... Allergic to water!" She eventually cried out, not realizing how ridiculous that statement sounded.

"Allergic to water? If that is the case, I'm allergic to electricity. If I go Zap, I might start seeing stars. However, this meant I was afraid to plug on the toaster to eat my favorite toaster strudels. So, getting over my fear to do that was quite important, you know? But I won't force you to do anything that you don't want to do, I just figured that hopping into the water rides and participating in the park exhibits would be fun. You won't be completely submerged or anything, nothing a child couldn't handle. "

Gabe wasn't going to force her though.

"Well, how about we walk around and if there is a ride you would want to try and be ok with, you can do that one?"

The girl would chuckle nervously as she played with the strings of her hood. "It's not like... I'm afraid of water, at least not in the way that like I'd be scared by it. I just, don't like it. I can't stand the feeling of having wet hair or just how cold water usually is. S-sorry if that kinda ruins your plans for today! But I'm just weird in that area, I guess, eheh." Callie would attempt to explain, twirling the string of her hood around one finger before having an idea spring to mind.

"Oh! You can still go on the rides if that's what you wanted to do though, I could be the one to watch you~! Like, uh, what's the words... A role reversal thingy!" She'd laugh, finding the idea quite amusing in her head. She figured if Gabe had brought her here then he probably wanted to go on the rides too? She wasn't going to stop him from having fun just because she didn't want to, or, more so couldn't without things going exceptionally wrong.

In a way, Callie sounded like a real drama queen, Gabe didn't think that he's ever met a child her age that complained so much about being in water. Did she dislike it that much? Why? What did she think about baths then? Or even playing in the sprinklers? Heck, what if it rained?

"Uhuh...."

Of course, Gabe didn't say all of that, he remained judgment-free in his assessment of the situation. These things were a choice, and what Gabe was expecting was to NOT be a kid in this situation. The role being switched was rather embarrassing, but he would bear with it. MAybe if callie saw just how fun and amazing the rides were, she would be tempted to want to give one of the rides a try. But this was a surprise for the sake of her benefit, if she ended up not liking it, he only had himself to blame.

"Ok, that's fine. Let's go inside then. "

After paying their admission, Gabe turned towards Callie.

"I'm going to go get changed, alright? Mind waiting here then?"

There was less than no chance that Callie would be convinced to go on one of the rides, even if she really wanted to she know she couldn't without causing a scene. Though, either way she'd smile towards Gabe as he agreed to her idea, he seemed very understanding at least which was great! It would of been super awkward if he had kept insisting her to give it a try. "Hehe, don't worry, I won't start shouting at you for running into the deep end~! Or, would I..." The girl would stop to think, would she be an over protective parent in that kind of situation? Or would she be more of someone who'd want their kid to get out there and experience thing to learn and become stronger on their own? She'd never really thought about anything like that before and it wasn't like that'd be an issue for a long, long time for her anyway. "Naw, I'll let you have fun for today~!" She teased.

The young vixen would nod towards Gabe as he mentioned going to get changed, finding a low barrier wall to sit upon as she awaited his return. Staring around the place some very mixed feeling crossed her mind, she could hear a lot of people further inside all having fun and enjoying herself which was exciting. B-but she could also hear the splashes and crashes of water constantly bubbling about, which... Honestly made her feel a little queasy to even think about. She didn't need to worry though, no one was forcing her to go in the water, so with a light sigh the girl kept her enthusiasm of being the pretend parent in this situation on the top of her mind. It was always best to focus on the things that made you happy.

It took a bit of a minute for Gabe to get dressed, he had to change into a few things that he was going to be comfortable with to wear for the rest of the day. Gabe switched into a compression swim trunk and a light jacket. He also switched out his trademark glasses for something a little similar that also served as a pair of goggles for underwater activities. After coming out, he would start to stretch out his arms a little bit as he looked towards Callie.



"I think we should go towards the Log ride first, it goes up really high and has a few loops "

Gabe would say this as he led the way towards where that particular ride was.

"Hey, if you really are upset with me, don't feel scared to voice your opinion, i really thought you would like it."

Jumping up to her feet as Gabe reemerged from the changing rooms, she began to run over to him before remembering you weren't meant to run in these kinds of places and more so hopped into a quick walk. "Sure! If that's what you want to do, I'll be you supervisor and get you there safely!" The girl called out enthusiastically before spinning around and raising a hand to her eyes as she peered around to examine the area and see where everything was. "Except I don't know where it is!" Callie continued whimsically as she span back around to face Gabe, a wide grin on her face. "So maybe you should show me the way and I'll just keep you safe~!"

Following Gabe towards the flumes, the young girl would tilt her head in confusion as Gabe asked his question before giggling to herself. "What do I have to be upset with you for? All you've done is try to make me happy, and that's really sweet of you!" She chimed. "Mistakes happen all the time, though usually the most fun comes from trying to fix a mistake~! So maybe this'll be a blessing in disguise? There's no point in giving up before trying! That's my opinion. Honest~!" The vixen continued before shoving Gabe forward towards the log ride thingy. "Now go enjoy the ride! Supervisor Callie is on the case!"

"Supervisor Callie? Well, I'm pretty sure that this was supposed to be the other way around when I started this, but maybe that would work out anyway. To be fair, being a supervisor is hard work. I remember meeting a camp counselor at the casino, they would tell me things like the kid running off in the water park and sometimes having to go into the water to get them. But you don't like the water too much, so hopefully, you don't have to do that."

Gabe was totally not planning anything to get Callie wet, that would be mean. He started to lead the way as he grabbed on to Callie's hand.

"Don't lose me now, things might get a little scary for me if I'm all alone."

He led her to the line as he got on the back, waiting his turn to go on the ride. As he waited, Gabe would move slowly with the progression of the line, all up to the point of getting on the log with a few others himself.

"Callie look! Enticing right?"

He was calling out to her, hopefully, the ride looked as fun as Gabe being on it.

*ding*

The go sign was initiated and the ride was brought all the way to the top until be swung around and around and the final splash initiated.

"Yup. But it'll be fun, I'm sure~! I tend to be able to find a way to make just about everything fun. Or, well, I suppose at least fun for myself. I know not everyone enjoys the things I do. Hehe." The young girl replied joyfully, she admitted that it would probably be a whole different case if she was taking care of a bunch of young kids in a place like this, that could definitely end up being very stressful. As much as she did enjoy looking after kids and did so every so often, a water park could be dangerous and she wouldn't be able to help them if they needed her... Though, she knew Gabe would be fine, telling herself she was the supervisor was more to make it into a little game than to be taken seriously in this case.

Callie giggled as Gabe seemed to take the role of being the one who was being looked after seriously, if not a little over the top. She'd follow him to the line of the ride he had mentioned before standing back a bit and finding a place to perch herself and sit as she waited. Seeing Gabe enjoying himself and having fun kept a smile on her face, though it still gave her no incentive to want to try it for herself. It was almost like a roller-coaster and water mixed, which... Neither were things she wanted to mess with at all. Fun was fun, though Callie never really saw herself as a 'thrill seeker'. At least Gabe was enjoying himself. That was all that mattered at the moment.

As the splashes came down from when the log splashed off a bit, the big wave came from the tank and splashed a little bit over to the spectators. It was a water park and there was a warning sign that did dictate that there would be water coming from the rides. Unfortunately, this would bean that little sprinkles and whatnot would get on Callie, but if it was enough for her to turn away for even just a moment....

Gabe was Gone!!!

In all honestly Gabe went on to the line of a nearby Ride, but he wanted to maybe see if Callie would really take her role as the "grown-up" in this situation and even find him? MAybe she would be upset? Maybe she would reprimand him? Either way, it would be interesting to put the poor girl on her toes for the sake of understanding how she would react if the persons he claimed to supervise was no under her supervision.

Callie would wait patiently, kicking her feet slightly in front of her as she sat and watched. The girl was many things, but she wasn't stupid. O-or, well, at least not in some areas. The girl had seen that the rides splashed as others were riding it before Gabe, so she didn't stay too close to the ride itself, but at a safe distance so she could still watch. Having a slightly worse view was a better alternative to the girl than the possibility of being splashed. However, from this distance she couldn't fully make out who was who riding on the rides. She knew Gabe had to be having his turn soon though, so surely he'd be finished and come back out soon. Yet, enough time seemed to have passed from when Gabe left her sight to when he should of had his go already... Where'd he gone off too? Was the exit on the other side or something?

Pushing herself to her feet, the young vixen would walk over to the line where she'd seen Gabe waiting and took a deep breath in. Her refined senses were super useful for tracking people down and since Gabe was only here a little while ago, his scent was still very easy to detect. It became quickly apparent as she followed the trail that she had been watching the wrong ride the whole time, whoops. Though she was sure that Gabe had said he wanted to do the log flumes first? Strange. Either way, she couldn't follow the trail any further than where he had entered this other ride, so instead she just tried to catch where abouts he actually was now, staring around and trying to catch the stronger scent of where he was.

Fortunately, it didn't seem as though he was too far away and the girl would head over to where the exit of the ride was and sneak up behind him. "Boo!" She'd call out teasingly, hoping to give Gabe a light scare. "Found you~! Naughty Gabe wandering off, I thought you were going on the Log thingy ride?" She'd question with a grin on her face.

Relevant Skills:

"Hm, I wonder when Callie is going to show up?"

Gabe had his back turned the entire time as he looked out for Callie, he didn't know about her excellent skills of tracking or even noticed that the area that she was coming by was somewhat behind Gabe. But he was definitely taken back when she showed up and caught where he was.

"W-woah! Callie, I rode the ride and went over to the next one. But you found me, I was kind of trying to give you a little fright and see if you could find me but it looks like you are a lot better at this than I thought."

Gabe was a little bashful, he came clean about what he did, but he didn't do it out of malice.

"Oh, This next one is a ride that's one at a time. Well not so much a ride, it's a water slide! It's called the cliff diver. You drop really fast, about 5 stories in 3 seconds and there is a big slash at the end. But there is this wet bag that protects your tush. It's actually a bit of a thrill seeker, do you like things like this?"
