--------------------- Paint It Red ---------------------
The Backlight was a place that bustled with life. Every day, crowds of people would weave through its streets, hunting for deals on the latest fashions and rushing to buy things at the last minute that they so desperately needed. The centres of commerce were the places that people would always congregate, a constant hustle and bustle as trade and negotiation took place...the Backlight was no different in this regard.
And yet...the area was still. The lights had dimmed. The stores had shuttered. Where throngs of people once fought their way past each other, scarce few now dared to linger outside. A perfect time to do one's work away from prying eyes.

Israel took his cardboard cutter in one hand, pushing the huge chunk of cardboard against the brick wall. The design he planned on doing, a yellow and green eclipse, was simple enough to not require any tape. He masterfully sliced the design out, putting the handle of the cardboard cutter in his mouth. Iz sprayed carefully, making sure to keep within the lines he'd set with the cardboard.
The lucent light of the moon gave him enough light so as to do his work, but hardly enough for him to worry about getting spotted. In the dark, Israel's word was law. When he painted, he weaved madness, satire and surrealism into a canvas that consisted of every surface imaginable. He didn't do it for the hell of it, though. People needed to understand just how wacky this world truly was. To understand the ins and outs of the world, so that everybody had an equal footing. To do that, certain groups needed to be exposed.
The air had a malevolent feeling. A mix of despair and entropy; powers beyond Israel's control. He was merely a young boy, filled with angst, living in a world with too many secrets. If he could simply uncover them... And find his way in the world... Well, what then?

Israel's markings would not be the first on these alley walls. Many already coated them, the different tags of many souls that had yet to be cleaned away by the city's workers. As he worked, heavy breathing and rapid footsteps echoed from a nearby branch of the maze he sought to make his mark on. Moments later, the sounds disappeared, replaced by the thud of something hitting the ground and a brief, faint gurgle. Afterwards, nothing could be heard...save for a few brief, intermittent splashes.

Israel let his cardboard drop to the floor, and picked up his bag. He stuffed his spray paint inside, and called out. "Hello?" He yelled, picking up his skateboard and brandishing it. Grotesque sounds can be heard from around the corner, followed by silence. "Anybody there?" He rounded the corner, where the moonlight could not reach him. The shadows danced in his eyes, and his head began to ache and throb. The blood pounded in the back of his head, and his heart started beating faster, and faster. "Hello?!" Israel called out again, this time louder. He shouldn't have come out here tonight, he felt.

As spray cans clattered into his bag and he called out, Israel would find himself a brief moment of quiet. The splashing stopped, and all that was left to be heard were the sounds of his voice and the tense breaths he took. One could be fooled into believing it all a figment of their imagination. But this was not a world so kind. Once more, the splashing started again, mixed with hushed voices alien and nigh incomprehensible to him. Each step closer to the source of the sounds intensified the pounding of his head, the dull, aching pains starting to sharpen and intensify as they shot through the pathways of his mind.
The scent of iron started to fill the air as he rounded the corner, a dark pool filling the alley. On the ground, a man lay with glassy eyes, throat slit and covered with sweeping cuts across his body that blood slowly drained from. Standing over the body were two shadowy forms, their true shape still yet beyond his comprehension as he was. However, with the seed planted in his mind finding its nourishment, their voices started to become intelligible as they turned to Israel.

As the scent of blood wafted into Israel's nostrils, a twinge of fear shot up his neck. The man's lifeless body seeped crimson blood, as two dark silhouettes could be seen in the alleyway standing above him. The shadowy figures spoke to Israel, with only a superficial meaning to their words entering his ears. Israel swung at one of the shadows with his skateboard, missing and striking the wall. The worn-down board splintered in half, the aged wood raining down on Israel's shoes. There went his escape option.
Iz backed against the wall, the shadow's words further imprinting themselves upon his mind. "G-Get away!" He said, his muscles tensing up against the brick wall. His hand reached into his bag to grab the cardboard cutter, but stopped. He was petrified, unable to move. This was how he would die, at the hands of demons. It was quite ironic, really. The groups he despised most in this world were formed to slay these demons, and now, without their help... He'd meet his grisly fate. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

His swing was avoided with contemptuous ease as the board was left to shatter against the wall - not a motion made out of any sense of threat, but a cruel will to demonstrate the futility of it.
"҉"̢Śe̶ę? ͏I̕t is ҉ours̢!̴ ̛O̸ur̵s!""
Emboldened the shadowy forms encroached, in their motion a deadly promise. And in that, all that was needed was granted. The seed planted so long ago took bloom, searing his mind with pain and promise.
Take this power.
Grasp it with your own hands.
Take it in and set it free.
Then you will have the might to need no saviour but yourself.
The forms before him shot into clarity, and they recoiled.
"IT SEES! A curse, A CURSE!"
"NO! It - it is ours! MINE!"
You may now awaken to your power. Take it if you would live.

The blood in Israel's ears pounded as his heartbeats got louder, and louder. He collapsed to the floor, the voices of the shadows blurring together. He kneeled on the ground, one hand to the floor and the other to his face. Iz could feel tears coming from his eyes. Thick, viscous tears. He pulled his hand from his face, seeing the strange liquid on his palm and fingers. It wasn't water at all. No, it was paint. Orange, red, blue... yellow. The paint streamed from his eyes, blinding him.
You know who I am, young one. You know who you are. Who you will always be. But most importantly... You know the world hates you. It always will.
Israel's vision turned white while what seemed like the voice of a thousand artists spoke to him simultaneously. He felt the glowing sparks of a painter's passion. The searing inferno of sheer creative willpower. He knew what this was. He was one of them now, those that could stare into the eye of darkness and have it stare back.
We were all born into a world that hates us. Each and every one of us. Will you take the plunge, and succeed where we've failed? Will you right the wrongs and the injustices of our world? You can, we can feel it. You can be the one to end it all. All you need to do is... Keep going.
Israel wiped the paint off of his face, and drew an anarchy symbol on the ground. The paint began to bubble, and spark with electricity. Roaring wind knocked Israel away, onto his back. A glowing figure rose from the paint, and the voice in Iz's head grew louder.
I am thou... Thou art I.. From the sea of thy soul, I come. The color and heat of flame are yours to command, young one. The inheritance of culture, and the raw essence of our passion... Has made manifest from inside your soul. Inscribe my name upon the physical realm, and the power of the world painter is yours to inherit.
Shimmering chains wrapped around Israel's arms, binding him to the ground. He struggled against the chains, and took more paint from his face. Trying with all his willpower, he reached for the ground. Upon the brick street he wrote one word.
"Your power is mine...Guernica." He said aloud.
The chains around his wrists loosened, and Israel regained full control. He crossed his wrists, then with a single violent motion, broke free of them, sending shards of light cascading to the side. Israel's vision cleared, and the figure from before was visible at last. A tall figure, with a body comprised of colorful TV monitors dripping paint. It had a puffy, afro-like hairdo, that slowly changed colors. It carried two paintbrushes, one in each hand. Paint dripped from it's body, it's hair and it's brushes, but it disappeared after a few seconds each time.
Israel's pale, black and white jacket exploded with color, and became longer on the bottom. He put his hood up, revealing a demonic smile glowing like neon lights. Before his feet was a skateboard covered in stickers, with a curved exhaust pipe coming from the back and a light suspension system on the bottom. Israel stepped on it, and the power finally came to him. He did a loop around the two demons, grinding to a halt where he started. It was like Christmas had come early.

The creatures recoil as Israel makes his loop, and as he comes to a halt, something clatters to the ground from places unseen. A crossbow and bolts, along with a familiar bottle of pills, all tied up in an easily removed red bow.
The moment doesn't last as one of the creatures surges forward.
"PESKY THING! I SHALL DRINK!"
PvS Battle Initiated! Light It Up!
"Curses, curses, let us be SAVED! Give us blessing, protect us!"

Israel felt at peace, the suspension of his new skateboard balancing his weight perfectly. He reached down, and grabbed the bundle off of the ground. Iz spun it around on his finger, and tore the red bow off in a single swift motion. He slid the small pill bottle into his bag, and slung the crossbow around his back. It had a quiver mounted under the barrel itself, letting him simply reach under and grab a bolt when necessary.
Incredible heat swelled inside of him, as well as a feeling of invincibility. A mix of pain and pride. The feeling you get when you're speechless, the knotting of the throat and a tugging of the breath. He could feel it coming from his hands, as well. Through his fingertips he could feel sparks simply waiting to escape. "Persona!" He called out, skating forward with two burning spheres in his hands. Guernica appeared behind him, it's hair and it's brushes glowing a bright orange. He grinded to a halt, forming the two balls into a single column, aiming the blazing inferno he had created at the two horrific demons.

When he attacks, he drifts and sends sparks into the enemy. Israel changes between walking and skating, getting a 15% increase in phys and magical damage. Lasts three turns.
OD Skills:
Ability Name: Persona Overdose Persona Name: Guernica Incoloro Appearance: Guernica changes to a darker, more subdued color scheme of red, white and black. Now the static screens appear regularly, even while Israel isn't damaged. Screaming faces will occasionally appear on the static television screens.
Description: Rogues get an ability called “Persona Overdose” that can be used once per battle. In this mode, for three turns, the Rogues get access to a completely new skillset, swapping it for their previous one for that time limit. The new skills are unlocked as the Rogue gains skills normally, and they can be anything, so long as the skill has the same tier as the tier of the skill in their normal skillset. For example, your first skill is Tier 1 in your normal skillset. That means your first skill in your “Persona Overdose” skillset can be any skill as long as it is Tier 1. You can also change your strengths and weaknesses in this mode as long as you have the same amount of strengths and weaknesses as your original skillset does. Your available skills in “Persona Overdose” also are unlocked at the same time you unlock your normal skills. So if a Rogue only has five skills unlocked in their regular skillset, they can only have access to the first five skills in their Overdose mode. Once the three turns are up, their skillset reverts to normal, and for the next three turns, your active Persona skills will be randomized each post, as well as the target for said skill, meaning you will not have any control over what your Persona does for the duration of the three turns.
Strengths: Fire, Strike

His colossal attack swept the twin demons off of their feet, leaving him the only one standing. Iz could feel his magical energy refilling, slowly but surely. The blood continued to pound in his ears, as sweat dripped from every pore in his skin. He knew what it felt like now, to be one of them. One of the people his father worked so hard to protect. If it were any other disease, this'd be a sick irony. Israel conjured more flames from his hands, their blazing touch licking his face. "Persona!" He called out, Guernica standing in front of him and blasting his enemies with the towering inferno.

The disgusting little goblin clawed at Israel's chest, but it only hit once. It was painful, and it knocked Israel back into the real world. His power fantasy was over, and he was in a situation where death was very much possible. Using his rage and pain as a catalyst, he stepped back and spoke a single word. "Persona!" He yelled, bright electricity forming in his hand. He launched the bolt of lightning on the demon that had struck him.
