| Geirin grimaced when Shina asked more about Heretic. It annoyed him that he knew little about this criminal and how easily they got away from him. But for the moment, it was out of his hands and now into theirs. He gave bleak smirk while answering Shiina. "Wielding a Persona? Hard to tell. But I got a feeling he isn't a Persona User. No... based on what information I've received, it appeared an angel with black wings approached him. I theorize it 'sympathized' with him for losing his loved ones when he relied on a Cadet to protect his family from a Psyche-Terrorist. And they gave them some kind of power... a singing voice, a hymn that strips people of their individuality and exorcise demons. A zealot with a purpose can be a seriously scary thing. Even worse, I'm not even sure what he even is aside from what little we know now."It made him wonder how the inner city would deal with such a threat. What they now had in their hands was a predator who hunted down their kind. A predator that was made to bring their demise and one that was cunning and crafty. One slip and you were going to lose what made yourself you. After hearing about SMILE Television, their chances didn't sound very good. But... it really wasn't his job to care. A heads up was all he was going to give them out of courtesy. Though while he seemed grim, the devil summoner began to adopt a playful smirk at the Tsurinai while tipping his hat to only cover his eyes. "Well, wouldn't you like to know... Ha, well, let's just say I'm a man of many talents. But yes, we can clash blades at a later time. You guys have bigger fish to fry, after all. Can't say I really envy you guys. If the Lamecia's are worth their lick, you'll probably be fine. But I'd be careful all the same. He isn't like any Psyche-Terrorist you've ever faced.""...I really can't take the credit since my 'colleague' was the one who actually saved him ahead of me. All's well that end well, I suppose." His grimace was back again when he had to give such credit to Raidou. As great as it was to save the Cadet, Geirin didn't appreciate his territory being invaded whether it be ally or enemy. This was his jurisdiction, not some greenhorn who relied on the past histories and glories of her predecessors. | |

| Shiina crossed her arms for the time being as she just listened to the explanation Geirin gave. An angel with black wings... that wasn't very common outside of edgy 'sonas made by weird teenagers online, so maybe something out of mythology would help her figure out what this could be. She had at least an understanding that the Demons they fought where reminiscent of the creatures described in the old world's mythologies, and Angels were of course nothing more than Demons by another name.
//"Hrm. It's weird that he has an Angel on his side at all, given the Church is actively cooperating with the Queen. I like being an optimist, but that doesn't look very good for them, huh..."// The Wild Card tilted her head forward. //"...regardless, it's not like his faction of choice matters in this case. If he's able to seal away even the Personas the Queen can unlock in people, then we should definitely get rid of the source of his power as soon as possible. Little use getting rid of the gun if you don't catch the culprit, right?"////"...heheh."// She vaguely understood his intention with that description at least. Versatility was something not a lot of people could boast having, and from what she saw Persona Users employed as Cadets anyway rarely had more than one supernatural entity at their command. Being someone of many talents, like her, could very well mean... hm, no, that wasn't important at the moment.
//"Well, if that's all we all have to share, I think it's about time we turn in for the night. Unless, you know, you have anything else you want to ask about."// The Tsurinai fetched her smartphone from her pocket, though. //"Exchanging contacts sounds useful, though, right? That way if any of us finds a lead on this Heretic, we have some easy backup to call."// She directed her mental attention to Cecilia now. //"I'll take care of investigating the black-winged Angel. My cousin should be able to get me good material on this kind of thing."//

| "So because of this one Cadet's failure, because of their... inability to protect his family, he thinks it's right to hunt down all of us? That's..." The indignant sigh she released burned with antipathy. It hung heavily in the air and pierced her front of optimism as she shook her head in frustration. That wasn't fair, to punish the whole of them for the sins and weaknesses of one, to condemn them all just because of one person. Her mind flashed through images of Maria pushing her body to its breaking point, through visions of her comrades fighting tooth and nail against T until they all collapsed, through recollections of all the horrors and all the struggles they'd endured and fought against all in such a short span of time. It wasn't right that Cadets like that would suffer because of a single person's shortcomings. She just wanted to protect people anyway, she was willing to give up her life to do that, so how was it fair? How was it just that he got to sit up on his high horse and act like she didn't care, like that question wasn't burning a hole through her skull every waking moment now, like she wouldn't give up everything to protect them even knowing all they'd done? It was bullshit! She didn't... she didn't...! "I... I guess I can't fully blame him. A chain is only strong as the weakest link, but..." She wanted to bang her head against a wall discussing this, but instead she opted to continue, ending the short pause with another sigh. "That's not an excuse for these atrocities. Even if he's lost everything, all he's doing now is dragging everyone else down with him. He's no better than that Cadet. At least they were trying to help. And an angel? Pfft." She snorted audibly at that. Truth be told, she wasn't sure what to think of this talk of angels, especially having never encountered one herself. If she recalled correctly Albrecht supposedly had one as a weapon, yet even then she'd never thought about it much, always tending to view the blade as a tool like any other. Regardless of the nature of these elusive "angels" however, this one certainly sounded little different than a Demon, and one would have to be a fool to buy any of its promises. Like, seriously, come on man! Black wings? Wasn't that like the main mark of fallen angels or whatever? It sounded pretty damn demonic to her at least! Though that song of its apparently could affect Demons? With the way Geirin put it she was almost interested. On the surface, she even wielded a similar ability through her Persona, albeit one which was much more limited and produced far more mixed results. That and it didn't expel them outright, only force them to work with her, but still it was morbidly intriguing. And even if the Heretic was putting it to horrid ends, if it could remove individuality on a greater scale, then maybe it could be dialed back to something more minor. Maybe it could... ...No. That was wishful thinking and a foolish hypothetical anyway. The hymn was dangerous and the same went for its wielder. If nothing else, the way it was being used was an affront to rehabilitation and to Isla, so it deserved to be silenced as swiftly possible. She nodded in solidarity and pulled out her phone, ready to exchange information if Geirin was, using the signal of approval as a response to Shiina's telepathic message as well. "Don't beat yourself up over it. Whatever your feelings toward them, you and your colleague sound like you make a great team. I hope we can be the same!" | |

| The Kuzunoha smiled grimly at the Tsurinai the moment she mentioned about the Church to him. "The plot does thicken, doesn't it? Who knows? Perhaps the entire religious body has been too deaf to hear the Lord's words to even realize they were working against His interests. Or perhaps as His followers claims, He works in mysterious ways. But you're right, we do need to the bottom of who exactly this Source is if we don't want any of this to ruin all of us and the City."Demons. Angels. To the uninitiated they had every reason not to differentiate between them much. But truly they had their own characteristics that stood out. Ultimately, however, one never could easily negotiate with the Lord's servants. Fanaticism and self-righteousness were always poisons that gave forth delusion. In a way, these Angels were worse to deal with than the Demons they loathed. It always did interest him, however, that such an Angel was involved in this case. What exactly was its goal here to use a Human to his own means almost similarly to a Demon? What kind of holding did this Angel have against Isla? "You really can't take reasons at face value. For all we know, he could be lying to get sympathizers. We'll never know if we don't try to find out. But, that doesn't matter. He disturbed and threatened the Peace. People are now broken forever because of him. Heretic must be dealt with whether they like it or not. And I don't plan on letting him escape next time." He firmly asserted with a nod. Reasons didn't have much of a stake in this world. Yes, it helps gives purpose to your actions and to why you are fighting. But once you have them, you can't be so kind to give in to other people just because you wanted to be nice. Many times it was a win or lose situation. You had to fight to win and hoped that you wouldn't be the loser. "...Sure." While Geirin shuddered almost in an annoyed matter, he gave a kind of glare at Cecilia, but said nothing as he sighed. They didn't have to know. These were Cadets just trying to do their job like he did and didn't mean any ill-will at least. And besides, he didn't want to get tangled in the City's bureaucracy than he had to. That should at least be Raidou's job since the brat volunteered to oversee the inner city. Though he doubted she got that involved in the politics at all, she is a Kuzunoha whether he liked it or not. "Why not? I could use some contacts myself. It gets lonely out here in the sticks anyway." He exchanged phone numbers with the Cadets. When they were finished, the Kuzunoha tipped his cap towards them. "It's been an interesting night. Shame there isn't much in there, but I think we can let the bulldozers through safely. Thank you kindly for your cooperation. Until we meet again."He began to leave the site and pulled the police tape over his head before moving past them. A Tsurinai in this city? What an interesting bit of information. Perhaps the Tsurinai's did have interest in a place like this, but did they want to figure out what happened here in Ground Zero? The Kuzunoha gave a glance at the cascading moon in the sky. He gave a smirk. There were a lot of uncertainties on this case and whatever was brewing in the City. But there was one thing he knew for certain, he was going to be busy for a long while. | |

| //"Well this was certainly a fruitful conversation. I hope your future endeavors go just as smoothly, Geirin Kuzunoha."// Despite how interesting it all was, though, it was now coming to an end. Shiina's sweet smile didn't fade until she was finished saying her farewell to their newfound ally. When he was properly out of sight, though, she sighed. //"There's something inside we can probably get fingerprints from. Let's take it before the bulldozers come."//
Yes, it was technically against the law to disturb a crime scene, but it wasn't her fault that the police had passed over this piece of evidence. Shiina adjusted her gloves and walked inside the house for the last time to pick up a torn piece of a kimono. She had a picture of it already, but this way she could try to find its proper match...
//"If we can figure out who this belongs to, we'll get a proper witness..."// The Wild Card slipped the fabric inside a protective plastic bag before shoving it inside her tote bag. //"That said."// She walked outside again now. //"Looks like we were right, there was something really important in this place."////"Thanks for coming with me, Cecilia. It's nice having someone to trust in times like these."// Now that that was done, Shiina removed her gloves to place them back in her pocket. Then, as if something struck her out of nowhere, she looked up at the rainy sky and pulled her hood over her head. Her hair was probably already too wet to save tonight, but she just chuckled and began walking back.
//"Anyway, it's getting late now so we should be going back. I could drive you home if you wanted."// She spoke while crossing the police tape and stopped just by her bike. She patted the hood of the vehicle a couple times. //"This bad girl has so much fuel left."//
