| Such a busy day it was. Dressed in a fancy dark gray and red outfit, alongside a spiffy top hat and extra decorations such as feathers, Crow would lean on the silver cane he had in his arms, one of its red spear-like tips digging into the floor underneath. Keeping people entertained could be quite the draining job at times, but he knew complaining wouldn’t get him too far in life, as much as he kind of enjoyed letting his thoughts stray there. Well, he was kind of done with the main segment of the day already, but after realizing he didn’t really have anything to do for the rest of his day anyway, he opted to stay in longer, and just do some random helping out here and there. He was the boss here, so not like anyone could tell him not to do things.
After the Chimera man took a quick glance over around the people currently in, he would swing the spear cane over his shoulder, sauntering over to the bar area. Since he was already pimped up in eccentric clothes, might as well play the aesthetically distracting waiter for a while? Or whatever would people like to call it. After a quick exchange with the guy who was currently bartending, he’d tip his hat towards the employee humorously as he went to take some orders from the seating establishments that weren’t the bar counter itself. Some customers stared at him incredulously, some seemed amused, and then there were the excited kids.
….thus why he eventually found himself performing tricks while serving, at the request of the young audience. It was frankly a real pain, or at least that’s what he thought to himself, as he spun and tossed his fancy cane with one hand, while holding a tray with drinks in the other. There was so much occupational hazard involved in doing this, but he was at least mostly confident he wasn’t going to drop anything. Mostly being the keyword, but that was another story now, wasn’t it? Resigning himself to the fact that risks would always be a part of his job as long as he remained where he was, he would do a spin for the effect, before handing off the drinks he had been carrying and bowing exaggeratedly as a happy pair of twin kids clapped at his performance. Man, hopefully he was getting some good tips for all the effort he was putting into this though. His official show hours were over after all, and there was still some paperwork waiting for him later.
Whistling a random tune, he’d make his way around, taking a few more orders with a gentlemanly presentation, zooming about a bit to make sure everyone got what they needed without having to wait too long. Playing the waiter wasn’t really a favorite choice of his, but if nothing else, it was a fairly mindless activity, as long as you could remember the orders, and was lucky to avoid shitty ass customers who wanted to complain about the most insignificant things. Sometimes he really didn’t understand what their problems were. You got what you ordered…what you bitching about? God forbid common sense existed, apparently. Heh. There were some nicer examples though, so guess it all evened out.
Hmm…almost done, right? That was what he thought, but of course, life wasn’t as merciful as that, and Crow was soon paused at a table with a family, the young boy demanding to take a photo with him. Oh yeah, guess he was looking a lil exotic right now. Having nothing better to do than consent, he would offer the kid a cheeky grin, picking the small guy up on his shoulders and putting his hat on the boy’s head as the parents took the picture. Thank god the small brat was fairly light though, as breaking his back was the last thing he needed to deal with today. Some days he really lamented over the fact that his physical strength was a little lacking. He’d be ruined if he needed to do heavy lifting work. Honestly though, that was the point where he’d just say fuck it and be homeless for a while or something. He liked his health, and it wasn’t worth ruining it for a few pennies which he could always try to find somewhere else. Once he put his little customer down, he would offer the family one more charming smile and a wave of his hat before moving on, and eventually taking a seat at the bar counter himself.
Partially for a little break, and partially to get a status report from the original bartender about how things were going. Might as well run some inventory business while he was already here and at it. Fishing out a notepad and a random pen from one of the drawers behind the counter, he’d scribble down some notes of interests, underlying a few more important ones. Meh. Well, things were going arguably were from what he could see, as much as nothing was ever without trouble entirely. Crow would sigh to himself as he rested his elbows on the hard counter in thought. There were still a few things he’d have to deal with some time later, but for now, everything seemed to be running smoothly enough. And he was tired from fooling around this much, but that was a side issue. He was almost tempted to order a drink for himself too, but after a short moment of consideration decided not to, not really wanting to risk getting himself into some commotion personally. No need to stupidly undo a day’s hard effort, which was a relatively easy task to accomplish whenever alcohol was involved in some way or form. Stuffing the notepad under one of his arms, Crow would pick himself up from his seat, glancing around the area one last time before moving to get away from the noise and to his office so he could at least organize some papers before heading home for the day…Word Count: 1011 | |
