The Bubbly Green Slime [Julie]

A little hope. It's not something anyone would find with a little determination, or is it? Well, there are some people, or perhaps creatures, that may have this thing called hope without needing too much determination. Careless people perhaps? Or carefree people.

Carefree, a word that would not describe many people, except for perhaps a few individuals spread across the universe, perhaps one of the people here.

High up in the trees, almost out of sight from anyone on the ground was a, rather curious formation. It was swaying lightly, dangling from one of the many branches of one of the many trees in the dome. The color was as green as the leaves on the trees, hiding it rather well high up like that. It almost looked like a huge drop of green water, but how could a drop of water become so big?

As soon as the two people came closer, the drop of water started to wriggle around a little, almost as if it was reacting to their presence. Very slowly the drop slid down the branch, falling to the one below it and clinging on to it. As soon as it landed a loud rustling could be heard coming from up in the trees.

The rustling continued, coming closer and closer as the drop continued to travel further and further to the ground, branch by branch. The closer it came, the more clear it could be seen. It was really a large green blob in the form of a large drop of water, heading almost straight towards the people walking below it.

The blob was about to hit the ground as it latched onto the lowest branch of the tree, dangling right in front of the two people. It didn't do much, it just gently swayed left and right, blocking the path ahead of the two. It hung from a small green ball which was attached to the branch, connected to the main part of the blob by a thin almost thread like string.

The creature continued to gently sway in front of the two, not seeming to have the intention of attacking them. It started to jiggle lightly as Hyacintha poked it, causing soft giggle to emanate from the blob.

Suddenly two eyes shot open, two black dots with lightly glowing yellow plus signs in the middle. The eyes curiously looked at the two, switching from the man to the woman and back. Hello. Her voice was, feminine and sounded a little soft.

She swayed around a little more before dropping to the floor with a soft squish. The creature was about half their size, looking up at them with her slightly glowing eyes. ""Synths? Neo-Ionia?" She bounced about a little, before turning back to them. "Julie, from Alfate." Her speech seemed, impaired for some reason, unable to make full sentences.

"This Junction, Forest place. New home. She giggled softly, her body jiggling lightly as she did. She bounced about a little more, looking at the two people in front of her. "Old home gone. Can't go back." It was unclear whether she was talking about her own old home, or if she was talking about Neo-Ionia, but since she knew nothing about it, she was probably talking about her own home.

"Junction takes, doesn't give back. People told Julie. Don't know if true, but is all I know."

As soon as she shouted and thrust her blade into a nearby tree Julie jumped up, letting out a loud "Meep!". She quickly bounced away, hiding behind one of the many trees in the forest. Seems like this creature was quite easily startled. Maybe because she knew she was weak? Perhaps because she was just a peaceful creature not used to violence? Who knows.

As soon as she heard Hyacintha call out to her she slowly peeked around the corner, looking at them from a distance. Very slowly she came closer again, being a little wary of Hyacintha now. She looked at her as she stayed a little further away than before. "Junction, strange place. Comes, takes, leaves. Doesn't give back." She looked around her a little before she continued.

"Not alone, many people here. Bird, fish, human, robot. Junction has all. Just look, you will find. Maybe other synth too, don't know." She didn't seem to know too much about the place, or her limited language capabilities made her unable to share everything she knew.

"Junction strange, seems safe. Not bad to live. Miss home and family, can't go back." The blob seemed to tremble a little as she looked up at the two people. "Junction home."

Julie bounced around a bit, seemingly almost unable to stay still for more than a few minutes. She seemed to have forgotten about Hyacintha's outburst, seemingly no longer wary around her presence. She gently hopped about in front of her, making sure not to stray too far away from the conversation they were having.

As Hyacintha spoke again she came to a stop, slowly turning back to her to look at her. "Long? How long? Since Junction took, while back. Junction took and never brought back. Here for while, don't know long. Slime don't know time. We live, just live, don't worry about time."p The concept of time didn't seem to be something slimes worried about too much, or they just didn't know it existed.

She bounced about a bit more, turning around a few times before facing her again. "Environment? Forest feel good, almost like home. Trees, flowers, water, grass, Alfate had all, Junction has all. Almost looks home."  The blob gently rolled onto her back, looking up into the sky of the dome. "Almost home."

The blob just laid there for a while, looking up at the sky above them. She didn't move nor respond for a while, just looking up. After a short while longer she slowly rolled back up, looking at the two again. "Rest?" She thought for a second, of course Julie was used to living in the forest, resting wherever she found comfortable. However, she knew not everyone rested in the same way as she did.

She gently started to sway from left to right like a rocking chair, seemingly trying to think of something.  "Could rest in forest. Ground very soft. Not sure something for you..." She looked at them a little more before shaking her head, well actually more her entire body and spoke softly to herself. "Not for you..."

She resumed gently rocking from side to side, humming very softly to herself. She didn't seem to know much outside from the forest dome, not sure what a creature like her would do outside the dome anyway. "Tree...? No.... Not for you.... Water...? No....."

She shivered lightly as she looked up at the two again. "Julie doesn't know.... Please no mad at Julie...." She looked at Hyacintha, and more specifically at her large sword, remembering what she did with it not too long ago.

She looked up a little surprised as she called it a good idea and laid down on the grassy ground. She slowly hopped a little closer, finding a nice spot in the grass. Not too close, but not too far either. "I'm glad. Julie doesn't want make people mad. Julie wants to help."

She let out a soft, slightly nervous giggle as Hyacintha spoke again. "Julie wants to help, anyone, anytime." She looked at the two sitting in the grass, surprised they would see this as an acceptable resting place. She had met other people before, other's who'd never spend the night in a place like this.

She sat there for a while, looking at the two as they no longer responded, seemingly asleep or something of the sorts. She slowly started hopping around in front of them a little, seems like it was time for Julie to go. She looked at them one last before bouncing off, heading back deep into the forest to wherever she came from.
