| Susan waited with baited breath on the other end of the line for the distant party to pick up. Truth be told though she was comfortable with what she earned she didn't really need this Charcoal and a few extra dollars would be nice. She could use that money to have more fun, to spend more time at the casino for... r-reasons! It took a few rings but the distant party would answer. "Good evening Ms. Paige, I understand from reading the post on your website that you are a collector of supernatural materials. I have received one Charcoal after the defeat of a Centaur and I am looking to part with it, though from the listings on your site I do not believe I can do so for such a low price. Might we negotiate this sale?"- Relevant Sale:
"Charcoal" is a Tier 2 item that normally sells for 1250 VC. Susan is attempting to negotiate this sale price to 1550 VC, and extra 300 VC. Her Charisma Social Quality is Rank 1.

—Description: As a high-strung workaholic Susan doesn't just work a job, she develops her future within enterprising companies. It's hard work but the pay is nice and Susan lives incredibly comfortably as a result, with no financial woes and multiple vacations a year.
At the beginning of each new Day if Susan had finished a Work Thread during the previous Day she accrues 500 VC.
—Strength Name: Productive Member of Society
—Description: After a lifetime of education, smart decisions, and hard work, Susan has cut out a nice life for herself with no desperate wants or problems to face. She has access to various amenities and comforts that most other are not fortunate to have.
Susan lives in a good neighborhood with a low crime rate, drives a nice car, has enough money at any given point to reasonably afford basic creature comforts, owns a tablet for work, and gains other such benefits you would reasonably assume someone with a nice life would have.
This also may lead to preferential treatment from certain individuals such as the police or vendors since she is clearly a law-abiding citizen and a professional businesswoman.
- Potential Impact:
Susan is both incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at sales, which will give her insight into the workings of this transaction. She is also incredibly courteous and clearly a professional opposed to someone attempting to offload unwanted goods. This may give her an edge in this sale.

| "Thomas. Miss Hope Thomas," she lied. Susan was reluctant to give out her real name in this situation, she wasn't sure how okay it was for her to be offloading supernatural objects like this. "The listed price for this item is 1250 VC although I was hoping to get no lower than 1400 VC for it. As you aware this would be less than a 15% increase to market value although I have justification for such. I have reviewed your listings and noticed that this item is not currently available through your marketplace, which I assume means that you have not acquired stock or that this item is sold out for the time being. I am also aware that Fire element materials are in short supply only listing 2 Ashes and this would be the highest grade Fire material item you would have for purchase should I sell it to you. As far as I am concerned this is currently a one-of-a-kind item that will be difficult to come across in the future. I have run the numbers and found that there is less than a 2% chance of encountering this material through contact with and the defeat of demons. Consider the fact that only half of them carry any material at all and this number is less than 1%. Simply put you may never see another Charcoal outside of the one I wish to sell you and I believe that is well worth an extra 150 VC considering what you stand to make. Don't you agree?"- How she got this info:
The currently known available materials are 54 in number, meaning if the table was rolled across all of them the odds of landing on Charcoal would be approximately 1.89%. Consider that getting a Material from a Demon encounter is 1 in 2 that halves this to 0.9%. Susan has IC encountered how material drops work and the number of known materials are listed as well as the ones for sale. Her Magna Cum Laude Strength allows her to run these numbers as she's gone to school to do.
Susan has also lowered her asking price to 1400 VC before mentioning what she really wanted since she can ask for extra VC up to 300 VC, she doesn't need to ask for the full increase. This was meant to keep the price increase low and make the deal seem more reasonable.

You will receive the Charcoal in the mail at the address listed on your site once I have received payment in the PayPal account I have uploaded. It has been a pleasure doing business with you, have a pleasant evening!" Susan hung up the phone after hanging around for a similar farewell. Her hands were shaking, she was surprised that went as well as it did. - Result:
Susan earns 1400 VC for selling her Charcoal.
