“Why did you ask me that question?” Not that Onyx cared about where that one went too much, but he was mildly curious. The guy had initially made it sound as if whether he had lived in a cave before or not was important to the matter of whistles and whatnot working well in such an environment, but then made no move to follow up on it at all. Had he missed something or was the other just speaking into the air for no real reason?
Nevertheless, he would offer the guy a light tilt of his head for a moment, as if considering something, before moving to turn around and walk towards one of the paths that lead through the caverns. “Follow me.” Might as well get going then. It didn’t seem like this man cared for chit-chat too much.

| "Because I am curious." he responded curtly as he followed the man, nodding.
Looks like the man didn't care much for idle talk, which suited him just fine.
Once they reached the end of it, he turned to the man to thank him.
"Thank you, Onyx. I believe this is where we must part ways for now. Goodbye, and thanks again." he said, waving goodbye as he walked off.

“Very well.” A not very straightforward answer, but he assumed he wouldn’t really be getting a whole lot more from the man either way. It wasn’t his style to antagonize people unless it proved to gain him something, thus he would let the matter float away in this case. “Try not to get lost on the way back. I won’t be around for much longer.”, he would half-jab at the guy as he turned around to go back to what he had originally been doing, raising a hand briefly in a sort of a parting gesture.
