| The time left until their guests arrived grew thinner and thinner, and as Lucian waited he sipped gently from a coffee cup while reading the news – two items from his homeworld he was beyond glad still existed within this one, even if in different forms. He rested patiently on the living room couch, his daughter and best friend probably getting ready on their own rooms. Thankfully for himself, the President had been ready to greet the doorbell for about half an hour, and dinner (if you could call it that) was waiting hot and fresh in the oven. He just hoped they hadn’t forgotten the directions… | |

| It was funny getting the invitation from Lucian. He had been trapped inside his home since the event. His parents had put him in a spiritual detox to rid the doom that had infested his very being. It hadn't been pleasant, to say the least... So as soon as he was better he left for a favorite spot for fortune telling. He couldn't wait to give fortunes and lift people's moods again! But... No one seemed to stop that day. None except Lucian, that is. It was somewhat befuddling... But he supposed those aware of the Pendragons probably blamed them for not letting people know of the event. But, something that large... It wasn't something that could be changed under any circumstances.
So, he'd stand at the door he was supposed to ring the bell too. He... Didn't really think it was all that smart to show up alone. Shouldn't that dog girl be coming too? Was she already inside? Mm... The predicaments he found himself in...

| "So it was a left here, then a right at this big sign... Then, straight until you see a... Uh, what does that word even mean?" Lilly would be walking along the street of Junction haphazardly trying to follow directions that Lucian had kindly given to her after he had invited her round to his home and she'd told him she wasn't great with directions. Though, it was still proving rather difficult for the young girl whom, despite being quite smart for her age, was still basically a lost child wandering helplessly through the streets of an alien infested city that would pass most peoples imaginations. The pup would sigh gently as she felt herself becoming more and more lost. That was, until she stumbled upon quite the promising sign of that boy who had been with them and throwing up when everything went south. This was roughly where she thought she was meant to be, and it looked as though he was about to knock on someone's door, so hopefully he was better at finding places than her and this was the right place? Only one way to find out she supposed. "H-hey again. Is this the place we were all meant to meet?" | |

| The day had been... interesting, to say the least. Alice couldn't deny that much as she lounged lazily across the bed staring over at the holographic alarm clock to her side. Her father had invited some familiar guests over and it'd be rude to keep them waiting, but she wasn't sure exactly when they'd be arriving. Still, it was important enough of an issue that it was better to be safe than sorry. Tossing a pair of clothes back on she'd descend downstairs and take a seat down on the sofa. The woman would silently await any sign of their arrival while anxiously imagining in her head the specifics of how the discussion would play out. There really was a lot to cover, wasn't there? | |

| The supersoldier sat down somewhat isolated from the others in an armchair on the other side of the room, with a cigarette in hands and a glass in the other. He was shirtless so his augmentations were visible for others to see, as well some of his battle scars. Admittedly, he was not very keen to have a bunch of kids over, Alice was okay, but the other two were a bunch of teenagers he barely knew. He just didn't felt comfortable but what is he going to do? They had the same powers as them so they were extra hands to help with... whatever the hell is going on. | |

| As Alice descended from her room and joined the others, Lucian turned his head towards the proverbial elephant in the room. “You really should put something on, you know. Our guests will be here any time n-“ Lucian’s berating was cut short by the sound of the doorbell. He gently put down the cup of coffee on the nightstand next to him and went to get the door, thanking the world for its assistance in proving his point. “And maybe put off the cigarette; for all we know it could be ten times as poisonous to them as it is to you.” Getting James to stop smoking was something Lucian had long since given up hope on, but one little request for the sake of his guests couldn’t be the most grudge-worthy of actions, could it?
Opening the door, Lucian found himself face to face with not one, but both of his expected guests; certainly more punctual than he predicted. “Ah, Cassiel! Lilly! Thank you both so much for coming. Please, step inside.” Stepping to the side, the man motioned for both of them to set foot in his home. The boy and the pup would find a regular middle-ward home, but one redesigned and changed to resemble houses as Lucian and his family knew them: the first room was a wide living room with cream-colored walls, a couple of dark green sofas and chairs sitting around a small, translucent coffee table and facing a TV on the wall. From the ceiling hung a chandelier-styled lightbulb set that gave the benefits of electric light with the fanciness of olden light sources, and scarcely laid out on the walls were a few tapestries from diverse cultures of the multiverse that Lucian bought with a surplus from his stipend. On the other side of the living room there was an oval-shaped fancy flourish oaken table with six equally fancy-ish seats (two on each wide end, one on each narrow end) and dinner gear already set in place for the event, presumably taken straight from the cup and dish cabinets parallel to the table. “Go ahead and take a seat at the table, I’ll bring out dinner and then we can get started.” He commented, sweeping a bang away from his face then heading into the kitchen. If the four others wanted to mingle pre-dinner, this would be their chance.
Moments later, Lucian stepped through the kitchen door, in his hands a broad silver platter with a bowl, a baking dish and a jar. After putting them down on the center of the table, Lucian sat down on one of the narrow-end chairs and cleared his throat. “Well, first of all, thank you for agreeing to have dinner with us. I know a lot of people would simply want nothing to do with us after… what happened.” He started off, begrudgingly. “I suppose we should start with proper introductions, considering our previous meetings were either fairly short or, in some cases, non-existent.” He hated having to be so formal during what was basically a family dinner, but he couldn’t afford to be unorganized at this time. “You might remember my name as it stands, but I’m Lucian Clarke. This is my daughter Alice and my best friend James, and his uh…. his AI J.U.L.I.A.” Maybe a day would come when he’d get used to her, but this was not that day. “We’re humans; we arrived in Junction three jumps ago.” And with that, he’d let Alice and James make their own introductions if they wanted to, and then it would be Cassiel and Lilly’s turns.
Once introductions were over, Lucian pointed at the food at the center of the table. “Alice and I tried replicating some dishes from our homeworld, but we had to use alternative ingredients. This here is Lasagna Bolognese- it’s basically a cheese and meat cake – and if you can’t eat meat, that there’s Caesar Salad. That-“ He prefaced, pointing at the jar of liquid. “That’s just soda I bought from the market.” He admitted sheepishly; even if it was just soda it felt wrong not to put it in a jar for a meeting like this. “Please, help yourselves.”
“Now.” He called to attention after everyone had had enough time to serve their plates and try out the dinner. “I hate to be so blunt, but… does anybody have any idea what in Christ’s name has been happening?”

| "Right, right..." He placed the small glass aside so he could set off the cigarette by pressing the tip with his thumb and index finger, with robotic fingers the heat wouldn't hurt at all, he then stood up for a second to look around for anything to put on. On the corner of the room there was a plain t-shirt that he could put on, his arms would still be exposed but whatever it would do. He wouldn't feel as comfortable as he was, but he understood why Lucian made such requests.
"Don't worry, Mr. Lucian. This time his inhibitors are turned on, so he won't get drunk." The Shackled AI assured the ex-president that his friend would behave for the time being. Not too long after it, their guests had finally arrived. The puppy and the kid, that's how James remembered them, Julia on the other hand had recorded their names"Welcome, Lilly and Cassiel." J.U.L.I.A would go ahead and greet the newcomers before the veteran cybersoldier. She sounded pleased to have people around.
"Sup kids." He gave the two a light wave as they entered the family's home, he remained in his armchair observing Lucian interact with the two children. Once the formalities were over, the Wild Card went straight to the point. "I'm just lost as you, pal..."
"I too lack any information in my database."

| "Oh, hey pups! Mm, I think so... Or I hope so? Really would be lame if we both ended up at the wrong house, huh?" Cassiel would say with a small laugh as he smiled towards the dog girl. She was kinda cute, actually. Like, a really cute pet you couldn't resist from petting! Well, he could resist at least. Kids must love her though.
But before further words could be exchanged between the two, it seemed the door would be opened to show the tall, suited man the boy had come to be familiar with. Mm, and with even less time his veins would turn their pitch black color. Honestly, it happened so quickly that Lucian probably didn't see the boy before they turned. His stomach instantly felt weak and that ever familiar ring echoed in his head. Neh, he'd dealt with worst pain thanks to the... Little accident... But it was enough to make his fingers contort behind his back. Lilly could probably have noticed, and of course she would have noticed the change to his veins, but it obviously didn't seem to affect the boy much aside from the finger twitch.
"Whoa, a full course meal for two strangers? That's really something! I guess hospitality must be one of your fortes?" he'd ask with a signature smile as he walked in. He'd take a moment to take a mental note of the room. It was quaint, smaller than most of the homes he lived in. He knew those in the middle ward were jammed together because of the boom in population Junction had every time it jumped... But huh. It was a different story hearing about these homes and actually being in one.
"A-Ah! Disembodied voice! Oh wait, wasn't there something to do with robot guy over there and a disembodied voice?" Cassiel would start out startled before calming down once he remembered that tidbit. He... Didn't remember much of what he learned about Lucian's two comrades the night of the ordeal. I mean, could you blame the poor kid?
"Hello person I forgot the name too! Pleasure to meet you and your disembodied voice. Is it, like, a ghost or something? I don't see any fate around you other than your own..." the boy would ask and them mutter to himself. Robots, is what he was assuming the man to have, always confused him. Sure, some could be sentient and basically a normal person but... It seemed like they just didn't have a fate. It was kinda sad but not at the same time, he supposed.
"Okay, so Lucy, Ally, Jake, and Jill! Got it." the boy would say enthusiastically, absolutely no malice or confusion of any kind in his voice. This was a problem he had with his memory ever since he was little. He just could not remember the right names to people unless they were super close to him. It wasn't that he hated people or anything... He just couldn't. So, regardless, it would probably throw everyone off that he said everyone's name completely and utterly wrong.
"Whoa wait, humans really? Wow! I never get to see you guys anywhere! Which is weird, you guys are all over the multiverse! Oh, so that means you have one heart, right? And, like, an appendix right!? What's it like to have just one heart?" the young adult would ask as if he were an excited child. He really enjoyed learning about different people and stuff and the like! It was super interesting!"Wait wait wait! S-Soda!? Wait, what kind, flavor, brand, and how fresh is it!?" With that ordeal hopefully resolved easily enough, it would seem the serious talk would start. Cassiel would fall silent, his hands gently placed in his lap. He didn't wish to discuss this, really. Honestly though, he was forbidden by his parents to even mention what had happened or talk about his first hand experience. They knew about his new friend as well... How else could they not? Those dreadful, dreadful machines... They could see everything about him.

| "Heh, yeah that would really suck." The girl would reply, returning the smile and short nervous laugh. She still felt it a little strange that she was invited here, she knew it was because of the whole... Incident at the fungeon thing, but aside from Lucian himself, no one else had really talked much to her throughout the whole experience. Most of the people here were still practically stranger to her, though at the very least, this guy seemed quite friendly. So she'd count her blessings where she could find them. "Just got to hope and pray we can follow directions."
Which was soon answered as the door swung open to reveal the man himself who quickly invited the pair inside. "H-hello, Lucian. It's nice to see you again." Lilly would say politely as she stepped inside and took a look around at the quaint little home, something about it did give off quite a homely vibe. She wasn't sure if it was just the way they had laid out the place, as both the way they had and the furniture they used was very different from how she was used to. Or if it was simply the fact she could see the fact a proper family were living here... She'd sigh lightly at the thought, a small smile on her face. "This is a really nice place you have. Way better than my old mid-ward house. This actually feels like a warm home."
Nodding politely and returning the wave towards the cybernetic man and his AI, Lilly would simply respond with a. "Hello." Finding that Cassiel was currently leading the responses on most things and found it easier to let him simply carry on than to interrupt him in anyway. It gave her a moment to relax also, she wasn't fond of being the center of attention and with three of the five of them here already knowing one another. She and Cassiel were the two odd ones out, so if he wanted to be the center of the spotlight for now she was quite welcoming of it.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all again." The girl would reply timidly as she sat at the dinner table, honestly quite surprised that they had gone through all the trouble to make a proper meal for them all. They were kind of sweet. "I've heard that humans were quite common for some reason. My names Lilly Huwnd, I'm a Jurnil, and... As far as I'm aware, the only one on Junction. I can't remember how many jumps its been now, but I've been aboard Junction for a little over a year now." It was still hard to believe it had really been that long already, especially for one of her kind, a year was a very long time. She had tried desperately to find any others of her kind when she had first arrived here, though so far to no avail.
Patiently, Lilly would wait again for Cassiel to say what he wanted to as to not interrupt him before answering Lucians question on what they all knew about what was going on. "I... I'm not sure. It was so strange and scary... Nothing like that had ever happened here before, or at least, not since I've been here." The girl would pause for a moment as she thought back to that night she arrived back home. "I think Lady Annabelle was talking about it when I got home that night. Th-though I dared not to intrude on her." As sweet of a woman she was most of the time, she had a much sterner side when things got serious that Lilly didn't like to be around when it came out.

| “Honestly, that’s just customary for us. No need to make a big deal of it.” Lucian commented at Cassiel’s remark about a full course meal. Was it not like that in mixed Junction culture? With all the different foodstuffs and culinary styles it must have accumulated over the years, Lucian would have thought it to be natural for its citizens to want to share conversations over different meals. Er... What? "Ironically, you wouldn't be the first person to call me Lucy." Maybe it was some sort of joke he didn't get? It would have been rude to point it out and thus he would refrain, but joke or not the young man's inability to remember names correctly was... interesting, to say the least. Lucian couldn’t help but chuckle at Cassiel’s outbursts of… eagerness? Curiosity? It was hard for the man to tell, but whatever was the source of his energy, it was oddly endearing. “Well, I myself had to have my appendix surgically removed years ago, but that’s neither here nor there.” He entertained the young Virtue’s line of thinking out of a combination of amusement and the sheer pleasure of cultural exchange, although… “What’s this about hearts though? You have… more than one?” A little odd, but not the strangest thing he’d seen in the past few days by far. Meanwhile, sitting opposite to James and next to Lucian, Alice quietly fidgeted in her own seat, far too absorbed in her own thoughts to provide much insightful commentary other than her own introduction, which consisted entirely of simply waving her hand quietly as Lucian brought up her name. Honestly, it was a little awkward to be introduced so abruptly to people she’d barely even met, even if she already knew that they too were seekers. “Common, huh?” That would explain why Cassiel knew those little factoids about human anatomy. Judging from how human-like a lot of the species he’d encountered in the city were, perhaps the human gene was the simplest or basest form of intelligent life, with other evolutionary developments being harder to achieve and thus less common? Food for thought, that was. “Well then. I’m not sure if I should be proud or humbled.” He commented with a signature gentle chuckle. As the conversation continued and the man sternly ate away at his own plate, Lucian’s hopes steadily decreased as it was revealed that nobody had much information on what exactly had been going on. There was something, however, that Lilly said which piqued Lucian’s interest. He made a short vocal noise as he swallowed a bit of dinner, as if to signify he was going to say something as soon as he was done wiping his mouth. “Lady Anabelle?” He questioned. “That name… isn’t that the current head of state in Junction?” Judging from the “A vote for Anabelle” pin he’d found during the fungeon, it seemed that Lady or Lord was Junction’s equivalent of the President title. What political powers and duties made the difference between the two positions, though, remained beyond him for now. “You are affiliated with her? Do you remember anything she might have mentioned about the situation?”

| "Name's James, pleasure meet y'all." His voice was gruff and deep, his tone also indicated he wasn't particularly interested in whatever was going on."The disembodied voice is an AI named J.U.L.I.A, she is installed to my Smartgoggles. She's a nice gal so be nice to her."
The subject about humans however got his attention, he'd straighten himself in his seat while looking at the group with a raised eyebrow.
"Lucian and Alice exemplar human specimens." He interjected, expressing his trademark shit eating grin for a brief moment. "Most of my fleshy bits have been replaced by hardware and software, so i don't have the same 'composition' as a regular human. I still have a heart though."
After that, he'd remain mostly quiet listening to the conversation and making mental notes about it.

| "What the heck? Surgery!? Whooooa... That's so hard core!" Cassiel would say with awe in his voice, he was easily impressed to be quite frank. He really didn't get out much so hearing anything out of the norm for him and his parents was fascinating no matter what! "Eh? A heart? Umm, Virtue have an organ that I suppose is considered our 'heart'. It's... Different though, kinda gross, I'll talk about it later, kay?" he'd say with a happy smile on his face. He knew some people got queasy around grosser subjects and eating. Personally? Nah! You could talk about anything and it wouldn't faze the iron gut of Cassiel Pendragon! Except toads... Eugh...
"What the heck are smartgoggles? Sounds painful... Jake! Did you get them surgically implanted!? Also is Jill in your head? Like our special little people! Wait, should we talk about that? Um..." he'd fall silent after that, a hesitant look on his face before he withdrew from the conversation as a whole. He'd simply enjoy the soda and food as it was.
"Lady Anabelle didn't come to the Pendragons in regards to information about the event. I think that's okay to say... Yeah, should be..." he'd mutter, loud enough for them to hear but really more to himself than anything. He knew they'd want to talk about these things... But it wasn't as if they could've known the event could be that bad! It had such a twist of fortune and doom... How could they expect the doom to be so... So awful...
His heart would skip a beat as he took in a deep breath. He couldn't dwell on that. He'd incapacitate himself again if he did. With a heavy sigh, Cassiel would force a shaky hand to stuff some food into his mouth. Eating helped distract if not for a moment. Regardless, his pitch black veins and eyes would pulse for a moment. A threatening sign that he was close to breaking...

| Lilly would nod her head briefly. "Y-yeah... If you look around here long enough. You'll notice that between all the strange different types of people who live here. Human like people are by far the most... W-well... Common." She'd smile lightly after speaking, unsure if what she was saying could be considered rude or not and so trying to look innocent about it if it could be taken as something rude. These kinds of things were never her strong point. It was hard for her, being both so young as well as being practically on her own for the past year. Adjusting to life here and learning what is appropriate to say and what isn't took some time to learn.
"That's really cool, James." The girl would say timidly, a genuine look of interest in her eyes as she tried to imagine exactly how that kind of technology worked. Though, that stuff was far beyond her. Yet what he said seemed true, from the few times she had heard this 'AI' talk, she had seemed very pleasant and even had remembered her name when she first arrived. "She seems like a very nice, uh, AI. What kind of things can she do?" Lilly didn't want to be nosey, though at the same time the topic was something she'd never got to ask about before and she was quite curious.
"O-o-oh... U-uhm..." Somehow the girl had hoped that the topic of Lady Anabelle would be overlooked. Honestly she had just kinda spoken her mind aloud by accident as she mentioned it. She wasn't really meant to talk about Lady Anabelle's affairs... T-though she supposed this was quite an important topic. A-and as far as she knew anyone on this city, she at least had a little faith that she could trust those here. "Y-yes. I, uh. Actually work as a... Maid, f-for Lady Anabelle. S-see I really didn't like how c-crowded and claustrophobic the middle ward felt. A-along with hating to live on m-my own. I was scared and this place confused me, s-so I tried to go to the top ward... T-that place feels so much more homely and open. T-though I had no way that I could afford to live up there, so... I w-was quite fortunate to get a job working for her. I don't really get paid much, I-it's more working for a place to live... A-and for people who I know to be around." There was a clear tone of distress in the young pups voice as she told all this. As if the very memory of it was freaking her out, she really did hate those first few months here on Junction. How she survived at all was still a mystery to herself.
Giving herself a moment to calm down again, the girl would take a quick sip of her drink before taking a deep breath and continuing. "As for... What I heard her saying that night. All I can remember hearing her say was to send more police down to the lower wards. S-she didn't sound positive but it almost seemed as if she presumed that this was all some mess that was started down lower. T-though, now we know it was worse on the top ward than anywhere else... S-so I don't know..."

| Lucian nodded in understanding at both Cassiel and Lilly’s explanations of their respective statements. Whatever had been going down, Lady Anabelle seemed to be getting her hands dirty with this whole affair. Not that Lucian blamed her; she was the highest authority in Junction, after all, so it only made sense that she’d be the first to work towards a resolution. Alice was more interested on finding out why the government was so sure it had originated in the lower ward, but it didn’t seem like they’d have any way of really knowing, so she’d keep to herself for now. If anyone knew, after all, they would’ve spoken up already. “Special little people, eh…?” “About that…” Lucian interlocked his fingers and rested his chin upon the resulting surface as he contemplated how to proceed. “I think it’s safe to say that nobody in this entire city is going to give us direct answers; at least, not anyone that would be approachable without complex consequences. I do however…” Lucian paused to bring out a book from a nearby cupboard and place it upon the table. If the others bothered to look at its cover, they’d see that it was a small journal with the number 1 printed square on the cover. “…believe it is possible to learn about the situation ourselves.”“This journal contains a word for word transcript of the message that was broadcast over the Fungeon right before the failed jump. Everyone heard that message, but as it turns out we’re the only ones with the journal from which it was read. I’d like to know why it was lying there in the first place, but… more important to me is the big “1” on it coupled by the mention of other journals and the need to find them. It seems that whoever holds all the journals holds the answer." “Um…” Alice fidgeted in her seat, mumbling something to herself about impulsivity. “…I dunno if I should bring this up, or if it’s even really related to the topic at hand, but…”“Hm?” Lucian turned his head towards his daughter, not having expected her to chime in. “Yes? What is it?”“…When we first got our powers, most of us – or, well, at least James and I – saw a vision of a weird man in a garden. The other day I somehow managed to find a way back into the garden, and I saw that man, but… as soon as I brought up your surname, he turned hostile and eventually kicked me out with no way of getting back in. Considering that multiple people saw him before the jump and he reacted to me bringing up my surname, maybe he has something to do with all this? Iunno, I didn’t get many answers out of him, but I think somehow you having gotten the first journal might have angered him… or something among those lines.”Lucian seemed concerned but also interested. “I… see. If this way into the garden is what I’m thinking it is, then yes, he has been rather rude to me as well. I never imagined I’d make an enemy by simply picking up a book… why didn’t you tell me about this before?”“Iunno. It didn’t seem important until now.”“Well, whatever the case…” Lucian turned his attention back towards the general layout of the table. “These events and these consequences are what I called you both here for, in reality. I want answers and solutions, but it’s apparent to me that I’m horribly outclassed by this mystery. I need allies, seeker allies that will help me find the journals and solve the mystery of this failed jump and these Personas. You’re the only other seekers I know, so… consider this me formally asking you for help.”Alice stared with anticipation at the two guests. She and her dad had already talked it over in private, and they both agreed that it was best to make as many seeker connections as possible. If they formed a formal group with established members, managing would be easier and collecting and organizing information would go along much faster and smoother. “We don’t really have a team name thought out yet, but we’ll think of something eventually.”“What do you say? Want to form a team?” | |

| The young Jurnil's eyes would be placed upon the journal that Lucian brought forth. She remembered hearing that recording during the fungeon, or... At least most of it. It was safe to say she was panicking a little to concentrate on it fully when it started speaking about strange and disturbing things. This was the first time she'd seen the book since that day, and she'd never personally looked at it in detail. "A number one...?" Lilly would repeat mainly to herself as she thought, that would then make sense that there were more of them. It wasn't often that you'd give a specific number to something without having more that needed their own numbers each. "S-so... If we find the other numbered books... W-we find our information? Where... Where would we even begin to look?"
The girl would gulp lightly as the talk about a strange man was brought up. "I, I saw him too that day. Though, I, uh, I haven't seen him again since that day." That probably wasn't very useful, though she still felt like it was important to bring it up even if so. Regardless, what she heard next wasn't entirely what she was expecting. Or more so, it was something she had considered this was about t-though was more so than not hoping it wasn't what it was for.
"I-I'm not much of a fighter..." She'd begin, lowering her head slightly and staring downwards. It had always been in her best interests to keep herself as far from harms way at all times. She sort of knew how to defend herself, though that wasn't exactly enough in most scenarios. The girl knew she wasn't strong, she knew she couldn't do much to help defeat any more of those things if they turned up, with or without her newly discovered persona. "Most things scare me away, I have no idea how to fight, to attack... To even get away from danger in most cases... B-but..." Lilly would pause for a moment, feeling something deep inside her burning lightly. Warming her, her desires to be useful, to conqueror her fears and to keep those she cared about safe. "B-but if you need someone who'll try her best to keep the rest of you safe." The Jurnil would raise her head and stare at Lucian, a foreign look of determination in her eyes. "T-then I'll do everything in my power to ensure our safety."
