Subject: The countdown (RUN O-5's awakening) Sun Sep 10, 2017 5:07 pm
The countdown had started and RUN O-5 was listening to it, apparently during his time out Ark-1 had gained the technology needed to do jumps to other worlds, it was good to know that the people had advanced, but that made his function all the more important as he had to defend the people from the dangers of any new world they jumped too, the advanced that had been made while he was deactivated were quite something, and it seemed even without himself of his sibling units the city had managed to get on just fine, if not a bit damaged here and there, maybe units like him where no longer needed? however thinking back to his designated sector he had to reevaluate that as false, they were needed, as the city clearly did not have enough people to cover everything, and to do the needed repairs to the lower sectors, this made himself and if he could find them, his sibling units very useful if they were all assigned to the lower levels.
so as people counted down Tiny Tin walked around, avoiding the people stumbling about, and making sure to check on people that had passed out from to much of a good time, he also took the time to make little repairs here and there to keep the place in good order, this may not be his sector but that didn't mean he couldn't do some work while he was here.

A joyous shout crests over the crowd as the countdown begins. It was planned that the fungeon would be over well before the Jump began, however it seemed that would not be the case. Instinctively the citizens of Junction knew when the jump was coming, as though it had been hard wired into them. As the fated moment approached a countdown rose above the chatter of the crowd.
10!
“Is everyone in position?”
9!
“Who found the book?”
8!
“Be ready to call in the ground troops… This’ll get messy”
7!
“Make sure no one knows who you are.”
6!
“Keep us informed, we’re about to start”
5!
“No, I promise everything will be f33e.”
4!
“We’ve done all we can…”
3!
“It’s up to them now.”
2!
“... You remembered to plug33n the sound system right?...”
1!
“No matter what happens. Always remember I love you both. I believe in you guys.”
...
And then the screaming started.
---
…
The screaming started almost immediately after the jump. Normally there’s a short period of mild disorientation post Jump as people readjust themselves to their new world… however this was different. Something was very very wrong… One man in particular in the midway felt a strong nausea overtake him. He was a basic Human, one of the several thousand that called Junction home. Of all the species in the multiverse it seemed slight variations on human were of the most common. This man was no different.
At the moment of the Jump he felt a sudden shift… probably that hot dog he had coming back up. He turned to a woman beside him to ask if she had anything in her purse to help with his sudden bout of stomach pains. Though, curiously enough when he asked her only response was a sort of shocked silence, followed by a sudden shriek that only served to worsen his stomach pains. For a moment he wondered what had frightened her so, and in his confusion he hadn’t noticed that he had begun to drag his limp body towards her. She screamed for him to stay back, to which he stopped but only for a moment, before he felt his arm move… Funny, he hadn’t wanted his arm to move.
He could only watch as what he knew must have been his arm wrap around her neck like a slick tendril. She could only choke out a feeble cry for mercy as he unwillingly lifted her off the ground, and effortlessly snapped her neck. His eyes, or what was left of them welled with tears as he heard screams fill the air. He was unable to look away as his body lurched forward towards a fleeing family. He wanted to scream as others like him joined in the massacre, yet he had no mouth left to do so.
His desperate crys for help was drowned out by the screams of the man whose lower intestine he was currently pulling out. As were the cries of the hundreds, maybe thousands of others who had suffered the same corruption as he did.
---
To Those Whose Tame The Darkness
“Ah… You’re a little early….”
“Hello. My name is Steven. If you are seeing this then that means you have just awakened to a Coordinator. My time is short so I will explain quickly.” Steven smiled a small reassuring smile… Far, Far off in the distance, a large mushroom cloud rises over the mountains followed shortly by a deafening explosion. “I must explain before the shock wave reaches us… One of your personal effects has just become a COMP… Or as I’m told you will come to refer to them as a Vessel. This, along with your Coordinator will allow you to tame those touched by his corruption should they not have will of their own… I wish we could speak further but we will meet again.” Over the horizon a large wall of dust and debris was fast approaching.
“When you come to my world, do not interfere…”
You awaken back in Junction just as the cloud overtakes him…

As Tin came to from his vision, the happy festival around him had become almost unrecognizable. The beings that had just moments ago been normal party goers were now bathing each other in the blood of those who did not receive his blessings... Tin was now faced with a choice...

music to listen to:
Tiny tin Looked around, the creatures where attacking people, killing and chasing them, Tiny Tin had no Clue what had happened to him, did he have a malfunction during the jump? how did he not sense these creatures appearing, his scanners may have been unable to detect them before. Perhaps a from of stealth? He was unsure, and a diagnostic would have to wait for later, instead he would have to do his best to protect those that were fleeing, and so he turned his warning lights on "Citizens evacuate the area for your own safety, this place is now unsafe, find shelter" he said as he started to move towards the gathered creatures as he blared this warning out on his speakers.
He then patched his comm into the security forces Comm channel and started to send a combat report as he moved in "Unit RUN O-5, Combat routines activated, Scanning Situation....Number of attackers: Very High clear estimate impossible....Combat Capability Of attackers: High..... Probability of Unit Survival: Minimal.... Civilian Casualties If Engagement Avoided:Very High.... Probability of Civilian Survival Without Aid: Minimal....Conclusion: Weapons free..... Mission: Engage hostiles in the fairground..... Objective: Buy time for Civilian evacuation. At cost of unit if required....Back up request: Negative resources should be spent on saving civilians, not this unit....Executing Mission plan........It has been an honor to serve".
With that report sent in he advanced towards what he was sure would be his destruction, but the civilians needed protecting, and so his hands loaded, and his actuator restrictions were unlocked as he moved into combat mode the normally slowly waddling robot breaking into a full sprint that most species would find hard to match as he closed in rapidly on the combat area.

The masses didn't need Tin's warning to begin evacuations, however the mere glimmer of hope was enough to send people running. As Tin prepared for battle, it was clear he was out numbered and out gunned. If this would stop the small bot, was left to be seen.
"Unidentified attackers, Cease all hostile actions at once, get on the ground and do not move" the little robot ordered as he raised his weapons, using his speaker to get the attention of all the enemies in the area, he needed to buy time for the civilians and so he would do a draw in action first, he also needed to wait for them to get out of his firing lanes, thankfully it seemed they where doing so quite quickly and he should have no issues in a few moments.

"Warning has been given, initiating pacification of aggressor" he said as the attack hit him and he responded with a strike of his own lashing out with his fist to strike the creature.

Dodging the strike Tiny tin raised his fist and struck the creature once more "Target refusing to stand down, initiating full combat protocols. Comms opened to security stations. Message contents: Evacuation of amusement park continuing, Unit RUN O-5 Continuing Stalling of aggressors, prioritize evacuation of civilians.....Unit out numbered...Reinforcement not advised...priority is civilian safety...repeat citizen safety is to take top priority... Message sent" with that he hopped back and circled the creature waiting for it to take another swing and hoping to lead it out of the path of the other people fleeing.

The loud, thundering sound of foot falls echoed through the fairgrounds, as did the clanking of heavy plates of body armor. No sooner had the panic started, did the gun fire begin. RUN-O-5 would the distinct sound of a commanding voice pierce through it all however.
"Part the way! Part the way! Everyone out now!"
As the JPD stormed onto the scene, rifles drawn, the beast that had targeted RUN O-5 turned it's attention away from it and towards the group of officers. A beat passed where not but the chaos in the distance could be heard. The creature opened it's mouth briefly letting out what could be interpenetrated as the beginning of a word, only for the officer at the front of the pack to open fire. She only fired one round, a long slender bolt rocketing from the rifle and slamming into the beasts shoulder, launching it back and pinning it to a post not to far behind. The creature groaned in pain and cryed out as it clawed at the spike, to no avail.
"You there... Drone..." Came a second voice from the chaos, this one fast approaching Tin.
"Move to help with evacuation... Now..."
With nothing else to say, Alister turned from the small robot and lead his squad deeper into the Midway.
