The Fashionable (Add's Awakening)

With all of the business in Azores being settled, people were starting to either ignore any trouble that was brought up, or blowing it up to more than it really was. Now it was slowly becoming time to pick up the pace. Rumors have been lately coming around some islands of an odd reporter reporting the strangest of things from aliens attacking, to things called Shadows appearing, to various people getting married. The odd shouts that people apparently heard from her were all over the place. On a particular street outside of a large shopping mall in Penecia, some people have said they have seen her shouting at the edge of the street with her spiel. Maybe rumors were not so unfounded sometimes, as indeed, a force seemed to be there, left as a trigger for anyone with a supernatural entity on them. It was hidden to them though the area seemed to draw anyone near there to it. It would only be a matter of time before someone was drawn to it. Was that the plan from this mysterious air around the place? Perhaps it was an anomaly, or maybe something else.

It has been some time since Add had moved to Azores and it was highest time that he started checking out as to what is going on around in this place. Searching through the archives on various sites, he got to know about this reporter girl in Penecia. According to common people, she was just spouting nonsense, at least most of the time. But something made the young man feel uneasy as he finished reading. Soon after he put on his usual attire, hide the Dynamo on the inside of his coat and set out.

The young man put on his coat's hood on as he walked through Penecia. As he neared a big shopping mall, his feeling of uneasiness deepend. /"Can't say I've ever felt this wierd ominous-like feeling before.."/ Was he truly that intrigued by the existence of the girl or was there something else at work?

When Add stepped around the immediate area, the first thing he noticed was that the air seemed heavier, almost harder to breathe. For rumors that went, this was certainly an odd way to prove one. And that wasn’t even all. Around him, he’d notice immediately that everyone had stopped moving, as though being frozen in time. All was quiet, and all was serene yet unsettling. Around Add, a thin mist seemed to form some distance away in a circle, and building, beginning to slowly form a shape. It was still forming when Add began to feel a presence on him; the familiar presence of the Shadow that used to have a voice. But Add could definitely feel it…his presence was in his head, like familiar tendrils into his brain have been reawakened. It would be up to him whether to call upon it and prepare for whatever was forming, or wait and see.

The ominous feeling Add had proved to be true in no time. The air around him stiffened, making it harder to breathe. Then he noticed that all of the other people's movements have ceased. The young man had no idea what was going on. His ears were plunged into silence, as mysterious mist started taking shape away from Add. But then... The unmistakenable feeling, from distant past. The thing he kept with him ever since. /"The cursed thing that was bound to me against my will... It's the reason why I am being hunted down, besides the.."/ He thought bitterly as he covered his left side of his face with left hand. "Thus, I will use this power to protect myself and defeat those who shall oppose me!" Add would say as the Dynamo sparkled to life, hovering behind his head, prepared for whatever awaited them.

When the mist grew thicker, it would eventually be cleared, and a glowing light would shine brightly for a brief moment before fading and revealing an odd floating creature. It was all white, with what appeared to be weird symbols glowing behind its head and a gown flowing in a nonexistent breeze. It was definitely not a Shadow that Add was familiar with from his experiments. It was…something else. It hummed a single note and faced Add with a peculiar glare. It seemed to have intentions to fight, as the being began to move closer to Add while a white spark seemed to course through the body of it. What in the world? Was this what the rumors were talking about, or did this come from the heavy air?

The mysterious mist disappeared as the shape fully materialized. Brief light shone as it revealed itself - a white, floating being with a gown and unknown symbols of sorts around its head. Even though Add had very faint memories of his childhood, he knew that he hadn't seen anything like this before. As it neared him, he could hear it humming something. The young man couldn't really distinguish whether those were actual words or a melody, when he noticed a white spark flashing in the being. Were the rumors about this place tied to this being? Add had no time to ponder over that, though, as it was time to fight.

Add swished his left hand to the side, as the Dynamo rose up. "Show me what you've got!" He shouted and Dynamo formed a circle above his head as it summoned purple lightning on the target.

When Add attacked the creature, it didn’t budge an inch. There was no doubt it got hit as it flickered for a brief moment, but it gave no signs of pain. It’s response would begin with the symbols behind its head glowing blue before from the “face” of this…thing, a shard of ice would shoot with sharp speed attempting to strike Add. The hums continued, and continued to float motionless in the air.

The being took Add's hit bravely, without flinching. He couldn't say the same when he was hit by an ice shard, which he wasn't able to dodge. He was used to being in severe pain, but he knew that he had his limits. He wouldn't be able to withstand too many ice shards. Add had to dispose of this thing as quickly as he could.

??? Defeated - You Have Survived

When Add made his final blow, the Shade still seemed as living as normal, before flickering like it was static on a TV and looking to Add. It still seemed to float in place, but the hostility in it had ended completely. The humming from it still emanated and it remained floating in the air. Everyone around him still seemed to be frozen and it would not end. Did that make the source of this the weird shade-like being? This left the decision up to Add on what to do with it.

As the final blow was dealt, Add could feel his strength faltering. He was still ways away from fainting, but he was trembling as a result of the ice shard onslaught. The being was still floating, but seemed to have lost its hostility. However, he could hear the humming as he looked around. It appeared that everything was still frozen. The area around Add remained the same. The young man noticed that the being was still present. Was its presence the reason for the time freezing? The Dynamo reacted to his mounting confusion and bits of nervousness by unsteadily floating behind Add's head. "What is the meaning of this?" He'd ask with tiredness and confusion present in his voice.

When Add seemed to do nothing, the odd being seemed to float and fly closer to Add, before sending images into his head. Images of a city in ruins and smoke. The images seemed to be tinted orange, but he would see images of strife and combat, and what appeared to be a figure, in the middle of all of that ruin, staring back at him. After he processed those images, the being would vanish, and as quickly as time stopped, it started up again, while people went on with their normal lives, unaware of what had just happened between the fashionable man and the strange shade.

Add's question wasn't answered, instead the being floated closer to him. Then something happened he didn't expect in the slightest. He could see images of ruined city, smoke, combat. However, there was a figure among all of that chaos, gazing back at him. Add was even more confused than before, but he had no idea what any of those images meant. The young man was about to inquire and reached out with his left arm as if trying to touch the being. However, as the images stopped appearing, the being vanished and time started flowing again, as if nothing happened. People continued walking to their destinations, ignoring the young man standing frozen in place with his arm sticking out before him and confused look on his face.
