Once the demons were vanquished with relative ease, Maria stabbed the earth with her Demon Weapon and leaned against it. She was noticeably tired with a need to get a breather for a moment. There was a canvas in front of them to use, but then she began to talk.
"My thanks for the assist. I saw Lisa get into this one. But I got cut off by the demons we just beat. What about you?"

//"Looks like we did a hell of a number on them."//
The large golden dragon that floated around Shiina dissipated into the familiar Tarot Card as the enemies' own presences were taken into her mind. She could feel a sense of familiarity from this Persona that she had just formed, and couldn't help but visualize its card... The Hierophant changed to the Devil Arcana, which morphed into the Chariot Arcana as if being replaced. She didn't have the mental focus to call upon too many facets of her power yet, but this one was suitable for the situation... especially given who they had just helped.
//"We didn't have many problems getting here besides a few groups of demons. It was nothing to worry about."// The Wild Card shook her head and approached the canvas Lisa had gone into to observe it. //"Here, try to pace yourself. I'll help you."// Shiina extended her hand towards Maria, but not for her to take it. Instead it began to glow a pale green as it helped whatever physical difficulties she had sort themselves out faster than they would on their own. While this skill could heal the soul, Shiina knew it would also help real, physical injuries.
They needed to make sure she was fine before heading inside the canvas. If Maria needed to rest, she'd have to stay behind while they helped Lisa, it'd be too much of a liability otherwise. Besides, she could just cross over after she had caught her breath.
Soul Skill Name: Healing Touch Persona Name: Jinguu-Tennou Tier: Tier 1 Cost: 6 SP Type of Damage: Recovery Description: This skill, when used, allows Shiina to heal light physical injuries like scratches and bruises simply with the touch of her fingers. When executed, her fingers give out a faint green light and she must physically pass them over the afflicted area for the injury to be healed. As it's such a low tier skill, the most it can do is heal cuts, and not extremely open ones, reduce pain from bruises and stanch out bleeding to a minor degree (for example, if a person had just been slashed with a knife, Shiina could be able to slow down their blood loss slightly). Each usage of the skill must be cast again, so to stop bleeding and then close a cut, Shiina needs to use the skill twice. In PvS, this skill functions like a Dia, healing 30% of a target's HP.

The Knight for the first time ever since he had stepped in the Domain, holding it under his left arm so he could take a better look at the Nun. She had been almost overrun and surrounded by demons, yet she managed to hold herself together long enough for support to arrive.
"I have been looking forward to fight by your side again, Sister. It seems like we will get to do it today!" He expressed a big grin on his face, though there was still the issue of the missing princess. "Is she the troublesome one you spoke of, Sister?" He'd approach her first and whisper it in her ear, needles to say this turn of event angered him, he really wanted to have a talk with the Princess himself but perhaps he was not the best person to solve this issue.
While he waited, Albrecht would be polishing Lamina Sanctus, to keep her ready for the next conflict.
"You really seem to care about Maria, it almost makes me jealous. Almost, i'm still bound to you." The Angel Blade communicated with it's user. "I wish i could talk to her, at least once, think you could play the 'translator'?"
—Strength Name: Glorious Melee Combat —Description: There's nothing more manly than two warriors shanking each other with a piece of metal, at least that's what Albrecht thinks. This love for melee combat makes the Forgotten even more effective at it granting a 10% Dex damage with melee soulbounds.
Strength Name: Langschwert —Description: As one of the Black Lions, Albrecht received intense military training and his weapon of choice was the long sword. He know effectively how to use one and various techniques, such as half-swording and sundering. This strength allows Albrecht to perform two dexterity attacks in combat.
—Weakness Name:Melee Fighter —Description: Despite having accesses to ranged weapons, it is far from being his field of expertise, his focus on melee combat required that he sacrificed some ranged combat training. Gun attacks deal 10% more damage.
—Weakness Name: Battle Rage —Description: While his ferocity helps in combat, he lets himself be overtaken and guided by it at times. Albrecht becomes 10% More susceptible to Rage aliment.
—Weakness Name: Not GLORIOUS MELEE COMBAT —Description: Gun fights are alright, if you are into that sort of thing. Certainly not nearly as good as GLORIOUS MELEE COMBAT. Albrecht deals 10% less damage with Gun.
"So princess Lisa is causing trouble again." Athena said as she wiped some dust from her outfit "I wish I could say I was surprised but irresponsibility is in her nature. Still, it's a good thing you are alright Maria, though I imagine you would have no problem defeating those demons yourself." Having seen Maria fighting before Athena had concluded that she was the most well trained of the cadets. "Enough talking though, we have some work to do. Allow me to restore some of your lost stamina"
Action:
Casting: Euphony: 40% SP heal to all allies/ 20 SP
It wasn't shocking at all how pathetically easy it was to dispatch the demons. They cajoled themselves into thinking they were physical gods overflowing with power no "mere" human could match, but for all their respect for might, every last one of them had none on their own. Once they couldn't overwhelm Maria with numbers anymore they were no match for her or any other Cadet; they were just pitiful, feral abominations whose insistence on violence predictably led to a foregone conclusion.
However much she detested and scoffed at them though, she was still relieved to see Maria come out of the battle safely. She didn't believe any other conclusion was possible for the struggle, but on a purely instinctual and emotional level the triumph brought solace nonetheless. "Like Shiina said nothing to worry about. You'll be happy to know the hostage has been escorted out of the domain. I thought there'd be more, but we haven't come across any others so far... not that I'm complaining of course. I wouldn't wish that kind of fate on anyone."
"Anyway, now that we're all together finding Lisa should be a breeze. No need to push yourself any further Maria; you can rely on us."
Although speaking of Lisa, hearing Athena talk about her so flippantly felt... odd. She wasn't sure how to take it, especially after the princess's failure to apprehend Alice. Needless to say, Cecilia didn't hold her on the level of the queen or Julius, but she'd expect the child of a goddess to be able to at least handle herself. Maybe she hadn't seen her in action yet, but from what she heard and believed in it seemed incredibly implausible that anyone who had a right to call themselves a Lamecia could be as problematic as the exasperated tones seemed to indicate. "Maybe this is somehow the work of the Painter? She should have at least been responding if everything was alright on her end. No use in speculating when we can go see for ourselves though, right?"
Cecilia would approach the canvas without hesitation and prepare to enter through it. The second everyone was ready and she got her orders she'd hop in without a second thought. Wherever it led, she wasn't concerned in the slightest... perhaps because she wouldn't allow herself to be worried in the first place.
Rearguard: The team at the backlines. In this formation, you'd usually want to put your support oriented members. Support skills (tactical skills, healing, buffs and debuffs) receive a 5% boost in terms of potency (if they refer to percents in how they work.) and your SP and Luck will be raised by 40%. However, in the Rearguard your attack stats will be lowered by 50%.
Staring at the painting until something plot related happens.
Passives:
Invigorate 1 | Recovers 3 SP on each user turn | Passive | Tier 1
Soul Skill Name: Dispatched in Mankind's Darkest Hour Persona Name: Svalinn Tier: Tier 1 Cost: Passive Type of Damage: N/A Description: If an ally's health drops below 25%, the effectiveness of Cecilia's healing and buff skills will increase by 10%. This boost will last for the next four turns and will be taken into account when she heals/buffs any member of the party (including herself). It does not stack on top of itself and can only be acquired once per battle.
She found her languid limbs recovering with Shiina's and Athena's help. The Cadet took the time to experimentally flex her fingers. There was strength returning to her and it was something she could work with despite her persistent debilitating condition. She locked and loaded her Demon Weapon before settling to get the whole team moving. A small smile flit across her features at Albrecht. He was reliable and strong, like the rest of the Cadets. She was glad that a fellow member of the Church was actually living up to expectations. Cecilia's reassurances added to that. But despite it, she still found herself grimacing on the topic. "Cecilia's right, we shouldn't waste time. We still need to catch up with her. Come on, we should get going."
She beckoned them to head over to the canvas to take them to the next area as she headed out first.

When they finally arrived, the area was noticeably darker than usual. It wasn't pitch dark, but the lack of lighting was evident and it was still visible enough to walk around without the obstructing darkness. But there was something going on ahead. Like moments before, there was the sound of clashing echoing in the halls. Maria motioned the rest of the Cadets onward with her weapon at the ready. If they followed her, they would soon find themselves at another wide clearing. Lo and behold...
Lisa was fighting the Demon Painter, but it was at that moment when the clash finally reached its climax. She was thrown back to the wall with another attack. It wasn't enough to knock her out, but it knocked the wind out of her. The Psyche-Terrorist may have followed it up, but he noticed the rest of the Cadets finally arrived near by the Princess once Maria fired a couple of rounds at him, forcing him to Accel backwards to dodge them. He had scornful smirk on his face. But that didn't stop him from hopping towards a nearby couch to sit on as the momentum of his movement carried him there while his eyes were still trained on the party. He was far relaxed with a leg crossed over another, as if he didn't break a single sweat from fighting with Lisa alone. That even brought more enmity from the Princess, with little doubt to him. But it gave him something to smile about despite being surrounded.
"I'll give credit where it's due. But, damn. You kids are such a pain in the ass, ya know? Here I thought I could just have some fun for once."
The teasing tone in his voice was relatively genuine. But in the artist in him was quite different. This entire domain was his home and to have it all thrashed to pieces was no shorter than infuriating. He wasn't going to let them get out of here alive, that's for sure. He gave a pointed look at Maria who aimed the gun at him after pulling Lisa back on her feet. The Princess re-adopted her stance with a glare in her face as Maria said, "We have you surrounded, Demon Painter. Surrender or suffer the consequences."
The balls on this Cadet bitch. Admittedly they were able to scour through his entire domain without a hitch. But that didn't matter to him, they were just canon fodder anyway. He scoffed back at her with derision, "Seriously? You're giving me that "mercy" bullshit? C'mon, I bet you're just willing to pull that trigger right now. Gotta be on the right side. Being so self-less and all that. Gotta bring justice to the bad guys, right? Ha ha ha... Bullshit."
"Abducting people and harming them is your kind of justice?" Maria almost spat the question back at him. She was borderline on the point of simply attacking anyway.
The smile began to fall from his face, as if annoyed by the response himself. But it returned with a more grim curve. "This asshole you saved was plagiarizing artwork as his own and made the entire art community ostracize them as plagiarists instead. Do you know how much talent was lost and misused for a sack of shit like him? Do you even know the number of people who killed themselves because of him? You really think someone like him deserves to be protected?"
Maria fell silent. But Lisa snarled, "He's obviously lying."
To that, the Demon Painter nonchalantly shrugged showing how much he cared for the Princess' opinion.
QAS Event: Initiated!
>"He deserves to be protected."
>"No, he doesn't deserve to be."
>Stay silent

//"Have you ever heard the expression 'two wrongs don't make a right'? Oh, sorry, I shouldn't assume someone like you has any kind of common knowledge, my apologies."//
Shiina huffed under her breath and crossed her arms. His abilities were above Lisa's, and while that itself was a bit frightening, she didn't really care to underestimate the rest of the Cadets. The Wild Card stood casually, aloof, making a show out of her relaxation even in the face of this Terrorist. It was the least she could do to insult his ego.
//"Lying or not, it doesn't nor shouldn't matter to us. If Jacob was a plagiarist, so what? You're the one who kept him hostage, you're the one who tortured him. Why are you trying to shift the blame onto someone else for your crimes? What about the other artists here? You can't tell me all of them made people kill themselves. And for that matter... isn't that a bit hypocritical of you in the first place?"// She cocked her chin up, as if looking down on the Demon Painter. //"Anyone who's faced with a terrorist like you deserves to be protected. Someone like you, who tortures and kills people under the guise of justice only they accept, is the real trash of society. You're neither an artist nor a painter, but by all means, keep the Demon in your name. That's the only thing you could ever compare yourself to."//
>'He deserves to be protected'
//"Even a scumbag like you believe Jacob to be is a better person than you could ever hope to become."//
"Typical, looking through your own rose-tinted glasses. Should've expected as much from the Prince's bottom bitches. I was going to keep you as paintings, but whatever. You can all die instead."

He swung his paintbrush to both sides of himself. Splatters of paint stained the floor. Something began to rise out from the puddles. A kind of canvas stood there stoically as two other morph-like blobs stood near him. Once they finally rose from the ground, they were eager and ready to begin the battle.
