Tsk... There was hella nothing to do in the Slums as per usual. No rich person ever found themselves down here and Riyo wasn't about to walk all the way to the mall just to get some loot. Nah, he'd wait for some fancy pants no body to show up in Junction even if this world was lame as hell.
With a huff, the boy would messily grab his hair and pull out a bit of red string to tie it into a short pony tail. He didn't like his hair getting in his eyes when he ran, it made it hard to see. However, he did enjoy a good sprint... However, debating whether to do it or not was the real question. This part of Junction got a lot of people appearing in... Perfect for fresh picking even if they were dirty easy targets.

It was awfully quiet in Shanty Town today, wasn't it? Not to imply that was something unfortunate, but Gisèle couldn't say that she found much joy in that fact either. It was odd to see a city so unnatural, so diverse, and so enormous devoid of the hustle and bustle that one would expect from it, but once you took the time to think about it a little all the glitz and glamour thinly sprinkled across the surface would wash away. No matter how foreign or alien Junction seemed at first to newcomers, it was the same as any other city at its core with all the pros and cons that status entailed. So with that in mind, it wasn't too shocking to see that it had its slow days every now and again, despite how initially out of place that phenomenon seemed.
There were ways to take advantage of this though and anyone who had survived for more than a day or two in the Slums was no stranger to making the best out of that which appeared insignificant. The streets on this day offered a perfect place for Gisèle to enjoy a silent lunch and she had more than willingly taken them up on their generous proposition. Sitting on a dilapidated curb and looking out into the distance idly, the blue-haired girl would calmly drop her hand into the dusty, brown satchel resting to her side and remove from it a single apple from which she'd take a bite. It'd be an exaggeration to say it was full of them, but there were a couple scattered neatly across the inside alongside some other fruits and a few different types of simple foods. The contents were far from anything grand, but they weren't entirely lacking in value considering just how harsh of a place the Lower Ward could be.
Gisèle wasn't as alone as she thought however and promptly enough she'd spot a boy with hair almost as blue as hers. She couldn't say she was certain of what he was doing idling away his time in such a deserted place, but a few possibilities came to mind, and at the very least she was sure he wasn't from one of the higher wards. After staring at him for a few seconds, the girl would nonchalantly remove another apple from her bag and hold it between her fingertips by the stem while slowly spinning it around in a circle. "Hey kid, you hungry?" She wouldn't mind tossing some food his way; after all, she hardly had much need of it anymore considering what she was. Besides, seeing how he'd react seemed more... interesting. A serene smile spread across her face as her eyes narrowed and she waited to see if he'd pay her any heed. Would he take up on the offer, or refuse it, or maybe even try to steal the whole pouch for himself? Hell, maybe he'd just ignore her and keep focusing on whatever it was he was planning on doing. Whatever the case, he had caught the demon's interest for now, however fleeting it might prove to be in the end.

The boy would squint his eyes at the words that came from the blue haired girl. What was the catch? To be honest, he was annoyed that he didn't see her sooner. If she had been a thief as well, he would've been easy pickings. Not everyone was as respectful as he in his thieving career. Regardless, he'd watch the apple and the girl, analyzing the bag with a slight huff. She was too easy a target for his overwhelming speed. What a shame...
Regardless, he'd crouch close to the ground before his body seemed to blur. In a moment he was next to the girl, standing and looking down at her before going to snatch the apple, taking a bite out of it if he had grabbed it. He'd tilt his head at the girl, silent as he watched her. What was her deal? Offering food to the poor of the Slums? Tsk, was she some high and mighty aristocrat feeling pitty for the poor?
"Whas ya deal, prissy? Ya way too fancy to be livin' down 'ere. Ya 'ere to make fun o' us?" he'd ask in a very coarse tone of voice, as if the child was trying to imitate an old man and succeeding at it only half way. He was aware of how young he was in regards to his kind, but that didn't stop him from trying to seem older than what he really was.

Gisèle's eyes would fill up with curiosity at the sudden blurring of the boy's body. She had seen a lot of strange things during her short stay in Junction, but this was a new one. Most would be taken aback by what occurred next as he suddenly appeared in front of her with blindingly fast speed but the woman wouldn't budge a bit and she retained her composed smile completely, although her eyes did twinkle with a slight twinge of awe and surprise at the display. "Wow, that was impressive." The praise was genuine but from the way she reacted overall and the tone she used it'd be clear it was only a minor compliment. After all she had gone through, it'd take a lot more to catch her off guard and truly astound than a show of quickness, no matter how inhumanly impressive it seemed to be.
His bid to grab the apple would go uncontested as Gisèle proved true to her word and released her grip from it without hesitation. Even had she not though, it's likely he would have successfully retrieved it anyway; she definitely couldn't rival the momentum behind the boy's speed in her current state. Whatever the case though, the fruit was his as promised and the girl's smile would grow a bit wider as he bit into it. It was difficult to tell if he actually enjoyed the taste, but she doubted that mattered to him and even if it did it was just an ordinary apple.
The words he'd say next though would be more than enough on their own to wipe the grin from her face. Her expression immediately twisted into one of disgust at the implications behind his line of questioning and fury would flicker into and disappear from her eyes with a swiftness that mirrored the child's own. "Well, my appetite's been ruined. Thanks." Au contraire to what she said however, she'd pluck a small piece of fruit from the bag and scarf it down, though her irritation at the accusation still remained clear as day. Were she among a significantly sized crowd she'd likely try and hide her true feelings, but around a random stranger all alone there was no point to it. "Believe it or not, I do live down here. I'm still a little new to these parts though, so make of that what you will." The volatile reaction she had shown at first died down greatly in intensity, but even so, traces of indignation remained in her expression. "If I wanted a laugh I wouldn't come here to get it, that I can assure you." In hindsight she'd probably have come to the same conclusions he did in his situation, so she couldn't blame him for his assessment.
To some extent though, it was reassuring that he reacted to her the way he did. While the words did catch her by surprise and clearly struck a nerve, they did suggest that as she appeared now she'd blend in well outside of the Slums. That would make things a lot easier for her in the future, but she was nigh certain that this look of hers wouldn't fool any resident of the Top Ward into thinking she was one of them. The wealthy tended to carry themselves in a very distinct way and the attire they wore was much, much more expensive than anything she had even the slightest hope of getting her hands on as was.
"But yeah, I'm no one important. Just a speck among specks."
"...or is there something about me that makes you beg to differ?"
Without another word, the blue-haired girl would push the sack of food slightly closer to him as a gesture that he was free to take more from it if he so wished. Whatever he wanted to do with it, she wouldn't stop him.

The boy would smirk at the girl, an eye raising at her shift in mood. Really? He figured his words would upset some prissy aristocrat but then you got this fancy dressed girl and she was mad for being called out on it? What, did she deserve sympathy or something like that? 'Oh, my dear good sir, I too am a slum living no body with all this food and nice clothes!' The thought made the boy sneer as he ignored the offered food. Honestly, no point in eating that slop.
"Ay, sorry bout that prissy. Didn' mean to hurt yo wittle feelins now! Grow a pair, if ya really be livin down 'ere, there be much worst than lil' ol' me." he'd say with a scoff, really, if whatever he had happened to say made her this upset, wait until she got to the real low lives who didn't care about some prissy chick's feelings. People like her didn't belong down here, the lot of them were just frauds.
"Ay, I agree with that. Folks down 'ere don't too much like jokes. Nah, their thrills are elsewhere." he'd comment with a wave of his hand. Honestly, he didn't care much about other people down here. They were always taking his turf or stealing from his prime targets. Really, any jokes they had were made out of giving each other a bad day. Like living in this dump wasn't hard enough.
"Yeah, I be 'begging to differ.'" he'd say in a mocking tone, a look of disgust crossing his face now. Really, who did she think she was? Asking questions like that, having this attitude like that, calling herself a speck like that. What a waste of a conversation. "No speck calls themselves a speck, not unless they be crazy in the head. We all got a place down 'ere. We might be a pack 'o rabid mutts but we ain't about calling o'selves specks. We important in our own ways. Tsk, really shows how much of fraud you are. Move on back to the Middle ward, prissy." he'd say with a roll of his eyes, walking a bit away before looking back at the girl with a raised brow. He wanted to hear what she had to say before sprinting off. Honestly, it'd be fun to see if some low life actually listened to him.

Gisèle would have to be the biggest liar in the entire city to try and claim the child's rejection wasn't comical to her. What? Was he too high-and-mighty now to bother accepting a gift from her? To see this boy try to act as if he were above her offerings while holding in his hand the very same apple that he had taken a bite out of mere minutes ago... She had been telling the truth when she said she wasn't here for laughs, but now he was starting to make her second-guess that. "Oh, forgive me! I see now the error of my ways to have insulted your self-sufficiency as I did. Clearly, you are a true survivor who would never dare lower himself to accept such meager tribute from one such as I." She taunted with a smirk twice the size of his which replaced the scowl that had previously adorned her face. At this point, the further goading from him would fall upon deaf ears. There was no way the blue-haired woman could take someone seriously while they were in the midst of unintentionally performing a sketch. Was he going to start juggling the fruit next?
"Oh you do? I thought we were all swallowed up by the same giant trash heap, but feel free to enlighten me. Have you gotten so used to Junction that you actually consider yourself a part of it? Or are you just too blind to notice how it towers over everyone who lives in it?" Size was all based on a relative scale, a lesson that she figured the kid would likely learn much later in life. People thought themselves special, but unless you were one of the lucky few who could afford to keep up that illusion through gold and luxury, it eventually would come crashing down. It happened in different ways for different people, but no matter when or where it happened. The only time it didn't was when somebody died young; otherwise, you'd look up at the stars one night and it'd suddenly dawn on you just how tiny you really were. "You said everyone has a place down here though, didn't you? If everybody's got a purpose then what's yours? What would change if you went missing one night only to show up dead in a ditch a week later?" Maybe she was being too harsh with this line of questioning, but the kiddie gloves were off now when it came to satiating her curiosity. If he expected her to brush off his words then there was no harm in applying that same exact standard to him.
"What makes you want to exist? Go on, I'm waiting."
Relevant(?) Strengths/Weaknesses:
—Strength Name: Mind Games —Description: While she's generally far from a subtle person, Junction is a much different environment than the other worlds plagued by the Scourge of Kings, and so Gisèle must take precautions that she never before had to deal with. Luckily for her, there are much more nuanced ways of breaking a person and her innate connection to humanity enables her to see those ways more clearly even if executing them might still pose some challenge. With sufficient information and tact, Gisèle's words can cut deeper than any weapon and she can get inside people's heads with a little more ease than most in order to manipulate or torment her victim as she sees fit. In addition, she can use this talent of hers in the opposite way as well and rely on it to better understand and empathize with the problems her allies are going through, although given her destructive tendencies this is understandably a much rarer application of it.

He'd stay silent for a moment before smirking and then laughing quite loudly. Oh, so she was a complete idiot! That made much more sense! Was she trying to be cool or something? Apparently that was a fad in the middle and upper wards. Being friends with low lives gave you a more dark edge to your character or some crap. Really... She was just unbearable.
"So ya jus' want me to take food from some stranga'? Look, prissy... Yo obviously ain't been livin' 'ere long enough to understand how we mutts are treated. Yo could be some cop fo' all I know." he'd say with a roll of his eyes. Was she intentionally trying to piss him off? Like, really. He hated people but she drove that point all the way back to home base.
"What's yo point, prissy? Ain't nobody thinking Junction be some kinda 'savior.' Hated this place the day it stole me and still hate it today. You gotta be a loon to think this place be anything but hell." he'd say with a scoff before looking away. He'd glance back at her before looking straight ahead down the street. "Ain't nothing towering over me. Junction might be hell, but that ain't stopping me from escaping it." he'd remark before listening to her petty words. She really was an annoying prick. In an instant and without warning, he'd disappear from sight. Having ran down the street fast enough that even if she tried to stop him, it'd be as if she was grabbing at dust.
Though, he wouldn't be gone for long. In a few moments the boy would appear above the girl, sitting on an outcropping of what was probably a building. He'd dangle something in his fingers before glaring down at the girl. If she looked even slightly close enough, she'd notice that the item was none other than a gun. He'd cock it, whether it had bullets or not before pointing it down at her.
"I got me a family down here. I ain't bout to tell ya more than that. Who the hell even are ya, prissy? Some cop? You sound like one... And I ain't having you scum up ma home more than you already have. Better talk carefully, prissy. I ain't some pussy kid who's afraid o' killin." he'd say with a sinister glare in his eyes. His arms didn't shake as he pointed the gun down at the girl. People like her made him sick... Stuck up and with that attitude... He'd like to see her bloodied.
"I be waiting, prissy..."

"Your caution's respectable on its own right, but it's rendered moot when you've already taken a bite. If I wanted to poison you or something then you'd already be dead. Besides, killing someone like that is way too impersonal for my taste. If I was after someone's head then I'd take it literally." As if to drive the point home that he wasn't in any danger, Gisèle would reach into the bag yet again and pull from it another fruit to take a bite out of. She didn't expect him to have a change of heart though nor did she care all that much if he did. "If I'm a cop I must be a shitty one, but I guess that's what nepotism is for. I doubt some glory-seeking scion pig would be assigned to the Slums though. They're too good for that, aren't they?" Her tone would darken ever-so-slightly as she spoke of playing favorites and a hint of malice would follow her words to the child's ear. Spoiled people were no different than spoiled food: rotten and unsalvageable. There was nothing wrong with luxury on its own, but when in human hands it inevitably corrupted no matter what form it took.
"My point is that a person has to be delusional to think they're important after they got eaten by the Tower of Babel in a single bite. The people in the Core and the Skies are the same size as anyone else, it's just it gets easier to distract yourself from that the higher up you go. And personally speaking? I've had enough false hope for one lifetime. I've got no desire for any more, especially if it comes from tricking myself into thinking I'm less of an ant than anyone else." Lies could be useful, but not when the person you were deceiving was yourself, and the boy seemed to be doing just that. No more was this apparent than with his next words. "Escaping from hell? You don't know what you're talking about at all, do you?" Considering just who he was speaking to, Gisèle couldn't stop herself from letting out a faint snicker. To try and lecture a literal demon on that... What a riot!
Of course, the atmosphere would change once he got back.
Just probably not for the reasons Riyo expected.
"...A family, huh?"
Just like all other "purposes", that was one that wouldn't end happily. She knew that for a fact. It wasn't an answer she'd dare look down on or mock though... in fact, if she still had one left then she knew she'd share the sentiment. With a strange mixture of envy and pity, she looked up at the thief in silence as if the gun he was pointing at her didn't even exist. "Like I said, I'm nothing, but if you're looking for a name it's Gisèle. Gisèle Durand." As odd as it might sound out-of-context, seeing that killing intent in his eyes made her feel like she could trust him. For a split second she considered telling him more, but it felt too risky to let someone she just met know the full details of her identity. Would he even believe her if she did? It seemed like there wasn't any point to it in her current state; until she recovered her lost power there wasn't much she could do to prove it... unless he actually decided to shoot her that was. That'd be a bit annoying, but she wouldn't hold a grudge.
"Feel free to kill me if you want. I won't mind."
Relevant(?) Strengths/Weaknesses:
—Racial Strength Name: I Am Thou, Thou Art I —Description: Gisèle is not a human being, but rather a product of them. While she does have a human form, it exists only as a container for her tale and soul, a hollow vessel that is only maintained by the beliefs and emotions of entities which know "true life." While she is still affected by real damage and can certainly be "killed" by non-supernatural weaponry, this method of destroying her will never be able to put a permanent end to her so long as someone within Junction continues to observe her existence in some form. As a result, Gisèle may reform within the Lower Ward of the city if killed through this method and will simply reappear with a new body with the old one having been destroyed in a burst of ethereal flames at the time of death.
It should be stressed however that this does not make her immortal. This racial strength applies only to death through real damage and cannot shield her against Personas, soulbounds, side-arms, soul skills, etc. If she dies to those then she's dead for good just like anyone else would be. In addition, her old body won't vanish for at least a few minutes and during this time the soul will continue to be housed within it thereby being open to attack. This means that were a person to acquire knowledge of this racial strength then they'd easily be able to counter it through simply wailing on the body through supernatural means until her HP is depleted to zero; the only saving grace to what would otherwise be a fatal flaw of this ability is the simple fact that it's extraordinarily unlikely that they'd arrive at this conclusion without Gisèle herself telling them about it.
If it's not obvious it should also be noted that any items or VC she had on her at the time of death will be lost. They won't even be able to be recovered by her allies or enemies as the flames which engulf her body will destroy all valuables on her person. Even if they take advantage of the short timeframe between her demise and her body's disappearance in order to loot from her discarded husk, the goods they gather from her will dematerialize in an instant as soon as she does.
Last but not least of the stipulations: it takes at least an ingame day for her to revive, so she absolutely cannot reenter the topic she died in or go into any other topics which were happening at the same moment. Even ignoring the day that it takes for her to resurrect, it'd still take some time to get from the Lower Ward to wherever she was last, so she can't just stroll right back in as if nothing happened.
—Weakness Name: Pitiful —Description: Beneath all that hate and all those shows of bravado lies a broken and deeply disturbed individual. An air of melancholy follows Gisèle wherever she goes and people looking for more upbeat company generally tend to avoid her figuring that she'll just rain on their parade. This doesn't mean that she can't enjoy herself from time to time or that she can't feign happiness, but in the grand scheme of things, Gisèle is a person whose existence is defined by suffering. Haunted by the past and poisoned with enmity for anyone who has not experienced her plight firsthand, she trudges through her so-called life thoroughly convinced that there is no hope for her, that the only thing she's capable of doing is dragging everyone else down to her level and making them understand her pain. She hurts and so she hurts others, she has nothing and so she can't allow anyone to have anything... In the end that's all she is and, more likely than not, all she ever will be.

"Traps always look harmless at first..." he'd say with a mutter, looking away for a moment. He'd shake his head, a look of disbelief crossing his face. She really must be new if she didn't know about him or them... Glory seeking weren't in their job descriptions... Being pains was, though. "Yo're really clueless, ain't ya? Hah... If only them cops wanted glory... Would make life a hell o' a lot easier down 'ere." he'd say with a quiet sigh. He wished they'd be these terrible people... But in actuality most of them were the good guys...
"'Cept this 'Tower 'o Babel' ain't just appeared. This stinkin place's been 'ere long enough for people to live 'ere since foreva. Yo just don't get it... This place be unfair, but this place is only unfair to those it steals." he'd say with a grimace. He knew the stories that she told him, the stories of others, the stories of the plant. They all were stolen from their worlds... Thrown in the dust, forced to live a life none of them ever asked for. This place was the ultimate thief... And its target was always those who loved their world.
He'd stay silent, listening to her words. He'd disappear for a moment before reappearing in front of Gisèle, a blank look on his face. He held the gun directly at her face, his finger ever slowly about to pull the trigger. Except he didn't. He'd stare at her a moment longer before thrusting his other hand forward, a bolt of electricity going to shoot into Gisèle. It wasn't enough to knock her out or even kill her, no not by a long shot. But it was enough to hurt her, enough to leave a mark.
"I respect yo guts, prissy. I ain't 'bout to do yo wrong and not stay true to ma word, but I ain't about killin some idiot newcomer. Name's Riyo. Consider me convinced yo ain't a dirty cop." he'd say, nodding his head in slight respect for the woman. She had guts, and people with guts went far in this hell hole. But, even he wasn't cruel enough to snuff out some idiot's light. He'd give her a second chance... But only just that. One more slip up and he'd shoot her dead.
"Yo need a home, prissy? I know a shack that'll keep yo dry 'ncase it rains." he'd offer, the gun seeming to vanish from sight. He probably used his speed to hide it on his person or somewhere close by. But, regardless, as it stood it was completely gone. He was trying to be nice, though. That lady lent him a hand when he first arrived here... Might as well do the same for good karma. Though, he didn't expect her to take him up on the offer.

When Riyo first demonstrated his absurd speed, Gisèle had figured him a one-trick pony. That wasn't to imply it was unimpressive or that it didn't hold any value to it, but she didn't expect him to have anything else up his sleeve beyond what any "normal" person could muster. So when she caught a glimpse of the lightning that was gathering around his fist, it could be said that she was, well... shocked. She was devoid of any semblance of fear, but there were many ways of being fazed beyond terror; the surprise she exhibited would be plainly visible across her face in the few seconds before it twisted in agony and pain drowned out any other feelings or sensations. The Azure Knight knew for a fact that this was nothing, that she had gone through far worse, but despite that certainty the bolt would easily manage to elicit half a yelp before the blue-haired woman bit down on her tongue and swallowed her scream seconds before it could fully emerge.
"Damn it! I don't know what that was, but there's no way it should be packing that kind of punch!" Vexation swelled up inside as she bit her lip and shook her head after the initial recoil. She hadn't gotten into a fight with this body of hers yet, so that zap was quite the valuable reminder of just what she had lost when she awakened in this city. To be stuck in such a frail, pathetic vessel... She hadn't forgotten the struggles of being human, but to have to relive them like this was nauseating. That's why the sooner she got what was seeking, the better. With a sigh, she'd flimsily reach her hand up and carefully rub her cheek on the spot Riyo had struck, although she'd push through the pain in spite of her currently less than ideal tolerance for it. "You're just full of surprises, aren't you? I can't say I saw that coming." Exhibiting an amused smile, the girl would let out a short, facetious laugh. This Riyo... It probably wasn't the best first impression, but he was definitely interesting. He reminded her of herself in a way, although that feeling assuredly wasn't mutual.
"A shack, huh?" The idea of having some kind of "home" felt... strange after so long. How many years had it been? She knew it had been a while, but all things considered it was difficult to actually place an exact number. Centuries? Millennia? Eons? However much it had been, the only place even remotely close to shelter that she'd ever had following her transformation was hell itself, and one would need to be seriously deluded to associate a place like that with comfort or safety. Better to reign there than serve in heaven, but that didn't make it any less torturous of an experience.
Slamming the satchel of the pouch shut and standing up with it grasped firmly in her hand, Gisèle would nod graciously at the boy. If everything went ideally then she wouldn't be occupying it for long, but it still seemed best to err on the side of caution for the moment and take him up on the offer. She didn't necessarily need a roof over her head in the same way that those around her did, but having a place to crash still had some natural benefits to it. So if it wasn't any trouble for him than she'd be more than happy to accept.
"Alright then Riyo, sounds good. Consider me in your debt."
