Anima Et Corpus [Kira Kira/Cyrus Flashback Thread]

It was roughly 3 AM, and Cyrus sat alone in his study, the reading glasses that were nearly falling off of his nose and onto the table at this point refracted the lamplight that Cyrus had set up a little bit too well for his liking. It had quite some time since Danielle up and disappeared, and since then Cyrus had been working restlessly day and night to look into the matter in the hopes of finding out what happened to her, where she went, and where she was now. Under normal circumstances he would’ve become frustrated at how little progress he was making, but in this particular occasion he knew that bitching and moaning would only waste precious time he could be using making progress instead. Day and night he’d been reading and reading, pestering information out of people – punching it out of them, if he needed to – , following evidence, drinking dangerously high levels of coffee to keep himself fueled through all of it… but nothing. Much like in everything he did, Cyrus’s quest to find out what happened to his friend and leader amounted to jack shit. Fitting, considering Cyrus seriously looked like shit; not stopping to sleep for several days on end does that to a man. He was nearing his limit though; neither coffee nor energy drinks were doing anything anymore, and he’d stopped splashing himself with cold water when he realized it could potentially give him a serious cold and make his job even harder, and now he could barely keep his eyes open. As the last of his willpower faded, his eyelids fell down on the minuscule gap they’d left for vision, and his head reclined softly on his desk, he couldn’t take it anymore…


”Bwuh?! What?!” Cyrus snapped awake. Who’d have a reason for knocking on his door this late?

The girl yelled as she violently knocked on the door, not intentionally mind you, it's just that finesse is not her strong point, some would go as far and say she doesn't have any in fact and they are not too far from the truth. Recent events really got on her nerves, not only she had to worry about a missing person but also about another one working way too fucking hard...

"Is all this violence really necessary...?" The Shadow Weapon spoke, the amount of strength the girl was putting into a few knocks was very disproportional.

"What? I'm just knocking on the door." She followed it with a shrug, it's not like she had caused any damage anyways.

"Do you even know if he is home? You would just make a fool of yourself by knocking on the door like this."

"Fuck yeah, where else could he be?"
