This situation was starting to leave a sour taste in Azami's mouth. As Danielle announced her decision to leave, Nyarlathotep's Wild Card stood speechless in confusion and shock. Even the subsequent strike against Nesoi, one overwhelming in both strength and theatrics, failed to draw her attention as her mind instead found itself consumed with implications, worries, and confusions regarding Danielle. By the time she snapped back to reality it was too late; Nozomi's so-called "ally" shed a few crocodile tears and vanished in a sudden burst of light. A surge of frustration coursed through the woman's body and while everyone else in the team shrugged off the situation, she instead found herself fixated on it in the seconds that'd follow, perhaps dangerously so considering the threat that Nesoi posed to them. After casting aside her former goal and agreeing to help Nozomi try to find a way to save all worlds, after putting herself and her universe at risk just to help complete strangers, THIS was the thanks she got...

But Danielle couldn't be blamed, could she? Who when facing their darkest moment would sacrifice a familiar face to save a foreign one? She was just doing the same thing that everyone did, that even Azami herself had done to an extent. Directly or indirectly, sacrifices had to be made if you wanted to get anywhere in life. Back when she was in Azores during the ongoing calamity, she had even mocked and condemned those around her who claimed to be protecting the islands while sparing its assailants and invaders. Was it wrong of her to be angry at Danielle for "abandoning" them then? Was it hypocritical to hold this frustration for someone who did what they thought needed to be done?

In a single blow, Nesoi exacted retribution on Tremora for the team's onslaught and smashed him down to the ground with bestial force. The man was no match for him and that strike alone was enough to force him to his knees. Truth be told, it wasn't that much of a surprise. He was clearly the weakest out of all of them or at least that was the impression Azami held after seeing everyone launch attacks of varying intensity at the abomination. Even so, however, this put her in a loathsome situation. Every move they made was the difference between survival and death: if she or Blaez took the time to get him back up on his feet then that meant they'd have no time to fortify themselves against the next wave of attacks (let alone launch some kind of counterattack). But they had no other choice, did they? If that thing charged Tremora again then there was no doubt about what would happen next...



A faint yet malevolent laugh brushed against her ears like a cold breeze against the skin. It sounded oddly familiar and Azami had her suspicions about who it belonged to, but she wasn't entirely sure, and any attempts to think further on it would find themselves rudely interrupted by a stirring inside her mind and soul. Though she dismissed Bhima after calling upon his power, he was still right beside her in a figurative sense, perhaps moreso than any other Persona she had at her disposal. The chuckle drew him to the surface and while her own thoughts resounded in cacophony her Other Self offered a voice of his own which swiftly put them to silence as he took the stage inside her head.


Bhima's words were tempting. They slashed away at the worries much like he did to Azami's foes cutting them into unrecognizable ribbons. But there was something... off about this. It took a lot of effort to resist the taint's calls and commands, but just as powerfully as something inside Azami was forcing her forward, something else was stopping her from abandoning Tremora to his fate. Memories of that very first dream that marked the start of the ordeal echoed through her head, memories of the words and promises that her doppelganger had said. Many of the claims weren't exactly outright lies and that patronage and advice had undeniably aided her in her Journey, but there was something about them that felt off. The assurance that Nozomi would attempt to usurp her, the implication that she was the only one who could use multiple Personas when Danielle had recently just displayed the same potential... She wasn't 100% sure where she was going with this train of thought nor if any worthwhile conclusions could be drawn from it, but the apparent contradictions with what had been said and what had happened nagged at her nevertheless. There was something else that was troubling her though, something unrelated that stood out far more than anything else to her.


A force of seemingly insurmountable strength towering over those weaker than it and doing with them what it pleases. An individual too weak to stand up to it on their own knocked to the ground wounded and unable to cry out for help. It wasn't exactly alike, of course, not in the slightest. But to a certain extent, from a certain perspective...


Bhima was still there, still gnawing at his prison and screeching out his demands. Azami knew that; after all, he was a part of her, and she a part of him. Regardless, her focus was elsewhere now, and his voice was easily drowned out by a newfound certainty in what to do next. With an irritated sigh, the Wild Card wasted no further time in making her choice.
