PostSubject: Samurai Training [Ryugon]   Samurai Training [Ryugon] EmptyMon Jan 23, 2017 12:09 am

He had rarely trained in a dojo... Actually, he rarely even left the house! There was a small back room in his and Arctic's house that he used for training. He kept his prized sword in there along with some training dummies. He did some training in there most of the time... But it normally wasn't enough compared to what he needed to do. So... In a small talk he had with his mother, she recommended this dojo! He had called ahead to make sure not a lot of people would be there today so... Luckily, he wouldn't run into much people other than the sensei.

He'd sigh gently as he leaned back in his seat. He'd close his eyes to hide the worried look in his eyes from the chauffeur his parents had hired since he was young. The nice looking car would hum underneath his head as he rested for a brief few minutes. It was a lot to take in... Him going out of his way to do something like this... He hated people and hated doing stuff like this... People were so scary after all...

"We're arriving shortly, sir." the chauffeur would say to him. He'd sigh gently before lifting his head and opening his eyes. Looking at the approaching dojo was somewhat terrifying... He felt a panic in his chest build up as the car stopped in front of the unknown place. It was terrifying...

"Okay... Just... Give me a moment." he'd say before breathing out gently. He'd open the door and step out of the car, carrying with him a small bag for changing and with his equipment. He had no idea how this would end... But before he knew it, he'd step into the dojo and announce his existence.

It was one of that strange days at the dojo for Liam. He came on his usual (early) time to practice for the day when one of the masters called him for something. He was informed that he was going to help out with a new student coming in and that it was important he found the dojo nice and pleasing for training. The red-haired just tilted his head sideways and nodded positively knowing that it was more of a way to get him to train some of the newcomers. His master had been doing this for ages with not so slight or hidden incentives to do so, as he was one of the only martial artists who had not gone out to do anything else for the longest time and was one of the most charismatic people there. Although he didn't agree with that vision, he knew that someday his master would trust him enough to (forcibly) put him in a teacher position all by himself even if he thought he still had so much to learn.
Samurai Training [Ryugon] Harada10
Not that any of that mattered right now, as the man was waiting in his practicing robes the new student to arrive, instructed by his master to let the other feel more at home at their place before he would come out and teach him the basics. It was not surprising to him to see the slender girl-looking person entering, seemingly shy at announcing his presence. ~ Hello Natsu. I mean, can I call you by your first name for now? Come on in, we were waiting for you. ~ His soft smile and overall more approachable manner was his best bet to a more comfortable first meeting.

Goodness, he seriously hadn't expected someone so young. He was around his age, was he not? Young and strapping... Goodness, he did his best not to blush but it was a little shocking. If had been expecting someone like this he wouldn't have given it much thought but he was expecting an old man or something... Not... This... He'd fidget gently before clutching the talisman tied to a string around his neck. He made it himself... It was supposed to give him courage but he doubted it worked...

"Um... H-Hello... Sorry... I just was expecting someone... Different. Excuse my rudeness." he'd say, bowing gently at the man. He'd then quickly take his shoes off before stepping forward into the dojo. It was polite to do that, he thought... Or it was so the floor didn't get scuffed... Or, oh, something like that.

"Y-Yes... Call me Natsu. That's fine for you to say. Um... S-So... When do we train?" he'd ask with a shy voice. He didn't really want to do anything else than that... Once he could focus on something else other than this stranger judging him it'd be better. He could show off what he had learned and trained. That's perfectly fine. He could do that, right?

It wasn't out of the ordinary for someone on his age range to get a little more shy around him because of his appearance, so he didn't mind that. He just accompanied the boy through the dojo showing him the way and laughing a little bit with his comment. ~ Ah, I'm not here to instruct you... Today, at least. I'm just here to help with whatever you need. ~ He bowed back, pointing with his arm to the room they would practice in before saying anything. ~ Well Natsu, my master is arriving shortly. Want to stretch first? It's always good to warm up your body before some training, ya? ~ He entered first, opening the door and setting everything to their designed places. After that, he pointed to the mattress on the ground so that the younger one could that his position and do his proper warm ups or anything he would like to before the class started. ~ By the way, I'm Liam. Nice to meet ya ~

It was admittedly embarrassing to get so flustered at the site of someone like this person. He had honestly seen more handsome looking men than him... It was just surprising and then a mix of his own anxieties. He was honestly unhappy with not immediately starting to train. It seemed the master wasn't even in right now... Great, punctuality was key and the one time he wanted to start something...

"I do not need anything... I brought all of my equipment from home." the bag was honestly starting to hurt his shoulder carrying it for so long. He knew they had everything here but... A part of him wanted to be with the stuff that was his. It was silly, yes, bu comforting.

"Yes. Stretching will be helpful for later. I'll just... Place my bag off to the side." he'd say with a small voice before scurrying off to the side of the room and placing his bag down. He was honestly getting exhausted with all this bravery he was doing. He'd clutch the talisman while his back was still to Liam. Bravery... Courage... He was a samurai after all, right?

"L-Liam... I'll remember it, then." he'd say with a nod before walking to his mat. He'd begin doing the basic stretches he had taught himself at home. Stretching his arms to the side, squatting to loosen his thighs, then finally sitting down and reaching for his toes to loosen his... Whatever that was supposed to loosen...

Liam nodded with a smile to the other's dedication into bringing his own equipment, even if the dojo itself was fully equipped and capable of handling most of the training all martial artists would need to do, at least for the time being. he just nodded patiently and took his place on a nearby mattress, stretching as well because he didn't know the specifics of what he was going to help with, so some preparation wouldn't hurt at all. It wasn't long until the master came in, dressed in a traditional samurai garb, walking slowly but poised. He didn't know if he was lie that because it was a long time he had a student who wanted to learn this art (the bushido way had been long forgotten after the ninja uproar) or by the fact that the boy was someone of importance. For now, he would bet on both. The red haired would just smile mockingly under his breath before the older man began talking, giving his greetings and complimenting both for already been stretched. ~ Don't worry, he just looks menacing. He's actually really nice. ~ The red haired said before winking to the other and soon after been called to stand aside. The master wanted to see what exactly Natsu knew from this martial art and asked him directly about that.

He was more than glad to be left to it. Though, he'd secretly eye Liam as he stretched. He was honestly a bit distracting... But, in a not bad way but still not a good way. He'd frown before finishing his stretches and bowing stiffly to the master once he entered the room. He honestly thought he looked absolutely terrifying... But, oh well.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, master." he'd say stiffly. He honestly didn't know how else to respond to this intimidating man... It just was a bit just... A bit much for him. Maybe he wasn't ready to do something like this... But with a sigh, he'd look over to Liam with a small frown. Was that supposed to be comforting...? Right now all he was was menacing!

And of course he'd have to show off in front of two people... Couldn't he be second? It was a bit just... Unnerving. He'd bow to the master stiffly before quickly walking over to his bag and returning to position with the training sword he had brought. A samurai was nothing without his blade, of course.

He'd show off the basic Fire, Earth, Air, and Rock stances before going into Cutting Forms one and two. They were the basics, obviously, but that's what he was the most confident in sharing for the moment. No point in getting fancy and drawing more attention to himself that he already did...

PostSubject: Re: Samurai Training [Ryugon]   Samurai Training [Ryugon] EmptyFri Jan 27, 2017 11:25 pm

It was nice to see that even though he had some equipment, it was not all for show and he was actually practicing with it and it gave him hope that the learning process was going to be ever swifter and maybe he could even avoid being the auxiliary teacher for his master this time... Or so he thought. After a little bit of observation on the matter was enough to find out that the other was rather unpolished and just new the basics, even if that was the case at all. He was not a master into any martial arts derived from the bushido so he didn't knew if he was being to hard to judge him mentally like that but the single phrase saying that he needed more practice and better guidance coming from his superior put the nail in the coffin.
The man scratched his head wondering what exactly he would help with if the boy needed that kind of things when he was told to do the basics he had learnt way back when he joined, just as a demonstration of what Natsu needed to do to improve his technique and then it hit him; He had learned parts of that in the past, long before getting into kung fu and specific sword training mainly because his master wanted him to and said that was an indispensable part of training. He exchange a look with the old man with a unsaid "you tricky one!" before bowing politely and executing both basic Cutting Forms and bowing again. ~ So... You see, be more confident in yourself. You already know what you are doing, so do it proudly ya? ~ The red haired would comment something more about his posture and overall development before the older man assumed again, saying that he should that his tips to heart and try again before anything.

Samurai Training [Ryugon] XSsbjeE

"I-I'm not a beginner..."

He'd say with a slight bit of aggravation in his voice. He didn't like it when people belittled him. He knew he was border line useless... He didn't need people to remind him! Plus, they were judging him! With their beady little eyes and their mean words and their mean thoughts and everything! It was horrendous... But... He'd prove that he was better than their rudeness. O-Or at least he'd try.

Tapping the charm necklace, he'd bow once more to the master before moving into the Fire, Earth, Air, and Rock stances in order. He'd do his best to transition smoothly and without the seeable flaws from before. He didn't like being so forceful, but this way he'd shut them up for good! He knew how to do simple stances, after all.

Cutting form one was very simple, and he'd perform it with more ease this time around. With training sword at his side, he'd pull it out and put it upward and forth. "Keep my body lowered..." he'd mumble to himself before finishing the first cutting form with ease. He'd go onto the second cutting form, the simple slash movement more flawless than the last, and to even spice things up, he'd go into the eight positions without hesitation. He'd breath afterwards, sheathing the training sword and bowing to the master.

"..." he wouldn't speak. Actually, his face was red with embarrassment... He couldn't believe how bold he had been! They probably thought he was a show off or someone fishing for pity or something just awful. He didn't really want to raise from the bow, but he would, a hand covering his face as best it could. He was horrified by what he did... But... He did it... And he regretted it...

~ See...? The problem was just confidence! I knew you had it in ya. ~ He said with a smile. He knew that the guy was shy but didn't thought that it would push him back into a more amateurish look into his martial arts prowess. He was glad that he could do things easier than it seemed so he could train by himself and the master and could face the older one with a slight grin that clearly said he was not that necessary there after all. His master looked surprised at first, but seemed to understand after a while and some thought before he could even finish his presentation and would just look back to Liam making the boy go back to his more respectable position.
After a while he was ordered to get out of his bow so he could continue his training and that from that day forward he could always count on the other man to be his spar partner or to simply pull that courage he mustered to show what he really could do in front of them more often if he really wanted to be a samurai. ~ Pshht... Don't mind him. He's just trying to push you to your limit, ya? ~ He said almost whispering before being asked what he was blabbering about and laughing it off. It seemed like he was just trying to be friendly but also better the others overall performance more than anything.

He'd keep his head pointed away from Liam. He was honestly too mortified to accept any compliments. He'd silently go through the rest of the training and be content with that being that. He didn't mind the hard work, it helped him stay distracted for the most part. His sister could tease him all she wanted... But in the end, he was probably a better fighter than she was... Just... If he wasn't so...

He'd break out of his focus to look towards Liam. He was an odd student to be working with. Handsomeness aside... He didn't seem to take the training that seriously. It puzzled him a little, but he supposed this may be a little bit too easy for him. It was a possibility... Even if this was allowing Natsu to learn new stuff, someone like Liam probably already knew a good bit of martial arts and especially bushido sword play like this.

"A-A sword only becomes strong through pressure... Keep my stance wide..." he'd mutter to himself, half in response to Liam and more so to reassure himself. His private tutor never pushed him this hard... This was probably why he hadn't learned a lot as of late... His father probably told his tutor to only keep him at the basics.

"A-As... Long as I learn something new... I do not mind..." would be his final response to Liam before the master had them get back to training. He wouldn't hesitate to get back into the swing of things. He wasn't afraid to push himself as he started to break a sweat. Gross... But expected. He was fine as long as he stayed focus on what he was doing and not the other people here.

~That's what i wanted to hear. ~ He would just smile confidently before getting himself into position to train alongside Natsu. His laid back behavior was quite the opposite of how his way of sword practicing was. He was serious and hardworking, pushing himself to his best at every simple movement to execute it with perfection and even his Master seemed to cooperate with that, being extra harsh on every little movement that could possibly turn into a wrong habit of sword practicing but not only to him, but to the long haired feminine looking boy too, trying to always get the best results from both students. Even so, the red haired had a strange pattern of seeking perfection in every movement, every sword hit and every body position, which made the overall period of the class longer but also very detailed and precise. Even between a lot of sweat, it was clear why he was chosen as a support to his master; his eyes glimmered like they haven't before every time he seemed to made each movement precisely "perfect" or the closer possible that it can be.
His dedication to martial arts were unmatched and maybe that was what the other was expected to have too by his overall dream of who he wanted to be in this day and age. Nonetheless, the man didn't seem to know that he was that much more dedicated in his ways than most and just kept going on through the class as normal until the end. After the old man was satisfied with the progress of both parties he complimented both and made slight remarks about the training before passing some things they should work at home before the next class. Liam waited him finish and leave the room to sit in the mattress and relax a little bit after breathing in a little bit. ~ So... What did you think about it? ~

He was fantastic, amazing even! It was unbelievable that someone his age was this advanced in such an old martial arts. He had personally thought he was probably one of the best out there in his age group... But this guy... He surpassed him in almost every way, even in determination! It made him blush a little through the sweat, but he wouldn't focus on that. He wouldn't be outmatched by someone willingly.

It was tiring work, and he'd bow rigidly to the master once he left. It was exhausting... Trying to compete with someone so much better than him. It made him a little mad, honestly... But once he sat down, he'd follow suit without much rebuttal.

"It was... Fine... I think I did will and that is all that matters." he'd say simply with a nod. He wouldn't talk further... Honestly, it felt like he was being judged for being worst at fighting than him... Awful, really...

He let himself breath in deeply and smile with the feeling of completing one more training after some time for him (even if he practiced everyday, more than one really) so he could just smile to the short but direct to the point answer he received from the other. Amidst the sweat he came back to the laid back attitude he portrayed before and continued on with the talk. ~ You did... It's nice to train with someone... Feels like you pushed me harder ~ He would then get up, dusting off his train garbs before getting closer to Natsu's mattress and bowing to him before offering him a hand, in an attempt of a handshake to close the overall new experience. ~ Hope to see you around more often, ya? ~ Hoping everything has gone smoothly and that the boy didn't ask any questions or didn't want to interact anymore with him, Liam would be his farewells politely before leaving the room to do some other business that needed his attention for now.

Pushed him harder? That was strange... He felt like he had to do everything extra perfect just to keep up with him. He'd nod gently though, taking the compliment at face value. Maybe he wasn't as good as he lead on? It was hard to tell right now...

"I will be back... That's a promise." he would say before watching the young man leave. He was... Interesting, to say the least. It wouldn't be long before he grabbed his bags and stepped outside to shortly be picked up by his chauffeur. It was time to go home now and rest... Good.
