Beta-Testing [Cadets]

Achelle was lightly cooked by the Garm, but by and large was more angry then injured.

And when she was done with that hit, she decided to hit him again.

Ava would sigh as the enemies evaporated into nothing and she got a little bit stronger. Man, that was alot simpler than I thought.Those guys were pretty easy for us to take on together, let's try to keep it that way.Ava would begin to walk forward, signalling for them to follow through. If they were capable of handling the simple threat that had just came at them, what would stop them from handling the next?From the looks of it, this weapon I have attached to my body lets me cut things up pretty badly. These shitheads ain't gonna stand a chance with us all working together unless we are caught off guard or split up somehow. Let's just keep it up. Anyone listening to Ava right now could clearly tell she was trying to come off as "professional" at the moment, and had it not been required at all of her right now this woman would have flipped into the exact opposite. Let's investigate this room, I think something important maybe inside of here. Everyone get on guard incase we get ambushed or something like that.Signalling to the others, Ava would walk inside of the room in order to look and see what really was up here right now.

Masako found herself breathing very heavily.  Very very heavily.  Everything that just happened just now, from having to fight an Angel and a... was it called a Garm?  She didn't quite pay attention.  Regardless, everything that happened from then, to Henry's very unusual powers, to the powers of the demons... it was enough to set her nerves on fire.  How had she been lucky not to get hit once during the entire ordeal?!  Was this normal?!  Why did it feel like she was able to look into the Angel's soul so effortlessly?  Why was she able to tell how much health and power it had?!  Most frightening of all, why did she feel like she gained power from this?  Not just from defeating the demons, but also on a subtle level.  As though each demon somehow... slightly awoke something inside of her.  Even watching Henry use his powers created a similar effect.  Whatever was inside of her, it seemed to react to Henry's powers and the fall of the demons?

And the sword that suddenly appeared in her hands?  What was it?  Why did it appear in her hands?

There was a comfort to the sword, however, a kind of familiarity.  It was as though it were a long lost friend, re-uniting with her after a very long time of searching for her.  She felt a kin-ship to it.  Was it like that for the woman with the gloves?

Even so, she sighed.  The high was settling down.  Now she could get her mind into clarity. She saw how Ava seemed to take charge, already deciding to move forward. Thankfully, she wasn't moving at such a reckless speed now, and seemed to even be rational, or at least was trying to pass off as rational. At last, her nerves calmed down enough to allow her to make a calm and rational reply.

"Are you out of your freaking mind?!" Masako cried out to Ava.

She cleared her throat, regretful of her rather unprofessional behavior just now.

"Forgive me, that was uncalled for," she replied, regaining her stoic composure.  "I can understand and appreciate your eagerness, but considering how you earlier just rushed in without making a plan..."

There was no point to that now.  Ava was simply eager to push forward, and though it seemed Ava was trying to be rational, Masako was absolutely certain that it wouldn't last for very long. Maybe she should be the rational thought to Ava's impulse?

Still, she couldn't ignore the opening that Ava had given them at the beginning.  That alone allowed them to keep up their momentum.  On the chance that the demons would have attacked on sight, this technically would have allowed for survival.  She also couldn't ignore how well everyone performed in that battle.  In a way, she felt like the weakest link, offering only a marginal amount of strength and ability.  It was the others who brought the battle to a close.  Well, there was no point in pondering that now.

"No, you're right.  What matters is that we got past our first obstacle.  All things considered, we did really well.  Congratulations are in order."  She had heard somewhere that one of the best things to do to cultivate good morale was to praise for a job well done.  She only hoped she performed that right.  "We can discuss a plan on the way."  With that, she followed after Ava.

She listened to what Ava had to say about her weapon. It was a very... alien thing to her.

"I suppose that makes two of us," Masako replied, trying to keep a conversation of sorts going. If they were going to work as a unit, good communication was a must, right? "Apparently, I can summon a katana to my hand. I suppose that's because of how much practice I've put into swordsmanship. Though, in all honesty, it feels as though I'm the weakest hitter of the group."

As she spoke, she took time to think about how the others performed.  Even if Ava rushed into things, she was quite the heavy hitter, as was the woman with the gloves.  Henry... she wondered if she'd be able to sleep at night after seeing him perform.  Still, he was a Cadet, and as such, perhaps he had to learn such skills in order to make the most of his talents while protecting others?  That had to be it.  Even someone with such terrifying power could use it for the sake of good, and Henry was proof of that!

The only one she couldn't get to see perform was Minerva.  In a way, she felt sorry for Minerva.  Minerva was robbed of potential personal experience on the field.  Masako considered letting Minerva take her place should they have another encounter.  If nothing else, this would let Minerva have a go, and would allow Masako to gauge Minerva's abilities.

When she arrived at the room ahead, shining her flash light around the room, she found that Ava was thinking the exact same thing as she. There was always a chance that they could find something, right? She made no hesitation in following through with the investigation.

I will not rest until I've inspected every suspicious looking nook and cranny.

Actions:

"Man, that was AWESOME." Henry said, barely winded from the fight, the sight of fresh blood refreshing him. Man, he loved this job too. So much fun...
He then proceeded to run after the tattooed lady, because it seemed good to him. Might even lead to more enemies to slaughter.

Action:

Achelle dropped her arms to her side as the burn marks on her exposed skin slowly disappeared. She pulled her glasses from her shirt and slid them on as she followed behind the others, rolling her eyes at Henry while watching Ava and Masako interact. When Masako mentioned she was the weaker hitter, Achelle scoffed.

"Not everything is dependent on physical strength." She said. "You're probably stronger then I, or the overeager girl in magic," she pointed out, "though I think the psychopath is probably the better mage."

"Though I think our party set up is a bit on the Lop sided." She looks at Masako, "you're a support user aren't you?" She asked, not waiting for an answer since she watched the others actions during the fight. "You should be rearguard regardless of your weapon of choice, Ava and myself can handle vanguard well enough, we both seem to be able to regenerate so healing isn't a complete necessity." She continued, as she turned to Henry. "You, cackling mad. You should keep to the middle guard, you're mix of melee and magic should benefit from that position."

She then blinked. "Ah, that reminds me. I never introduced myself." She said. "My name's Achelle."

Despite that she managed to summon her persona, Minerva wasn't able to fight because of those position rules. That just ruined her mood and missed all the fun. "This sucks..." she whispered as she desummons her soulbound weapon and persona. She then followed the others on the next room.

It seemed the woman would search the classroom and find absolutely nothing that they could use whatsoever at this moment it time. It was wasted time and wasted manpower on this endeavor right now that could have been dedicated to something far better. Alas however, you could not regain spent time but you could certainly make the most of the time you had left. Sighing in slight frustration, Ava would announce to her team. Alright guys, looks like there's absolutely nothing that will assist of us right now here. I suggest we move forward, I see something up ahead.The area was unusually quiet save for whatever it was that her companions had said to her or in general, it just weirded out Ava to be honest. Taking some time to analyze the situation, she would come up with some form of gameplan. Look, it seems whatever dangers are in here may attempt to mess with us or interfere with our teamwork. It is very pivotal that we actually remain on point and cooperative with each other. I see something up ahead. The young woman would begin to walk forward as well, urging for her companions to follow through. Leave the main attacking to me, for those who didn't catch it earlier my name is Ava. I hit things and I hit them hard. The woman had some form of a sneer as she said that, almost like she took pride in hitting things rather hard. Any questions? I see something hostile up ahead, lets off it and get this the hell over with.Upon getting close to the enemy, Ava would proceed to assault it and signal for everyone else to all out attack it, it was time for this bitch to die. What kind of demon could it possibly be this time?Alot of demons were certainly capable of having rather human or rather inversely bizarre as hell appearences. The ones that appeared since the Eternal Divide were certainly not any form of an exception to this at all. The enemies up to this point had been rather easier to deal with in comparison to most of what had tried her in the past, then again now she actually had a means of defending herself, a means of fighting and actually living. No longer would she be afraid and cowering from demons, threats, or any other bullshit of any kind, but now the young woman was ready to take her stand in the world.

Action:Moving six squares and attacking next red star.

It seemed the search didn't really produce much result.  A shame, really.  Masako had practically inspected every single area and suspicious location in that room.  To be frank, it made her rather nervous how they didn't find anything.  The more of nothing she saw, the more she expected a demon to pop out of where she was searching to attack.  Still, they couldn't exactly leave any stone un-turned, now could they?  At least now they could cross this room off of their list.

She heard what Achelle had to say about her strengths.  The woman seemed to speak with quite a bit of strategic wisdom that could only come from experience.  Masako would do well to take heed of her advice.  It was also a bit of a strange comfort to be regarded as a Support user.  That seemed to fit her mood quite nicely.  Someone has to be able to play support for everyone else, though right now there isn't much she could do.  Perhaps in due time she'd be able to do more.

Concerning was Achelle's choice of words for Henry.  Psychopath?  A quick look was spent in his direction.  Was this normal?  She shuddered just to think about it.

"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Achelle," Masako replied, "And thank you for your kind words.  I'll be sure to keep what you've said in mind."

Now she was taking Ava's words into consideration.  Ava's professionalism was slipping, in favor of pride for her combat ability.  The woman was definitely eager for a fight.  Or was it more she was just eager?

"If you take the front, then I'll do what I can from the rear," Masako replied, "Whatever I'm able to understand of our foes, I'll be sure to share with you.  It's a bit frightening, but somehow being able to see that deep into a demon.  I pride myself in my ability to analyze situations, but to be able to analyze a demon like that is definitely a first for me."  I might want to consider developing this skill further.  Maybe I can figure out how to willingly do it, and even perhaps see more than what those initial scans show me.

Of course, at the sight of a demon, Ava would chose a more lethal approach.  She could only sigh.  She might as well resign herself to this.  No matter what, they are more likely to have to fight their way through.

"After you," Masako stated to Ava, resuming her rearguard position from before.
