A reason to come back. (Gray)

Grins rested against a tree atop one of the many rolling hills of East Eden. The sun had just began to set, and the sight was calming enough to allow mind had wander from thought to thought evenly. A small frown played on this lips as he watched the setting sun fall over the horizon and behind the many tall buildings in he distance. Peace turned to anxiety as his eyes lingered on the city in the distance. Under the Jokes and the poor attempts at wit, 8D felt out of place there. Yes it was his home and yes it was where all his family and loved ones were, but after being gone for so long it felt almost foreign. Like more of a place from his child hood then a place he had spent most of his life... Well... No, No most of what he could call his life was spent here in Endymion with J, Kay, and Callie... Yet he wasn't sure if he could quite call it home again.

"Ah! Befuddling conundrums, doubly entertaining for Gods. However I just know... uh... Um... Dang it! Eheheh" 8D felt one of his giggling fits take over him as he failed to think of a L word to continue his little game,"Ah... At the very least this view is calming..." 8D would remove his tri-colored hat and place it to the side as he gazed out over the horizon and thought about where he had been and where he shall go.. The only thing that could make this better is if he had company.

8D would keep his eyes on the setting sun on the horizon, his eyes tinting themselves as the bright light threatened to overtax his opics. He kept his gaze steady, even as he heard the footsteps of his as of yet unknown guest approach. The newcomer was not close enough to really take note of yet so he decided to let them introduce themselves if they were here for him in particular. When the footsteps stopped short, however, and no words were exchanged, 8D felt a slight uneasiness wash over his circuitry. While the company was welcome and appreciated... Grins couldn't help but feel slightly awkward under the momentary gaze of the man. He spared a glance and was rewarded with the sight of the man busying himself with his Jacket. "Quite the view eh?" Grins would smirk, his words coming out before he could really think of something of substance to say. "I apologize if my appearance is distracting from it, after all not every day you find a clown sitting alone beneath a tree, and if it is then you live quite an interesting life... Ehehe"

He would laugh quietly to himself as he waited for man's response. He didn't know why, but 8D was feeling particularly calm today... Probably the sunset itself.

"Eheheh, True True, the city's crowd dose grow old after a while. It is good to observe it from the outside after a while... From here it almost looks peaceful." 8D felt at peace with the man. His manner, from here at least, was gentle and smooth, just what 8D needed right now. "Funny though, I've only been back two days and I already need anther break. Starting to think that my travels were more calm then my home life... Ehehe.

8D would, however, raise an eyebrow at Gray's choice of words,"Free Will? Ehehe, yes, yes I suppose it would be wouldn't it? Though there are times where one doesn't really have a choice in the matter. As for what I'm doing here, well my friend, you said it yourself. This humble clown is simply relaxing and enjoying the warm sunlight and gentle breeze. Just because I'm a clown dosn't mean I can't enjoy these simple things... Unless your question is more as to WHY I have chosen to do this AS a clown, in which my answer would be 'When it comes down to it, one can not choose what one is, and this one happens to be a clown...' Ehehehe" Grins would cock a smirk and and look to the man, his mask fully obscuring his eyes. "And what of you dear sir? What brings you to this out of the way path?"

"Ehehehe, I agree... I thought longingly about my home durring my travles but now that I'm back, it's both exactly like I remembered and different from how I expected. I can't believe I thought things would be calm once I got here, but from here I can see it again." if he had lungs 8D would sigh gingerly and feel at peace from the cool crisp air. It would have filled his weary soul with some form of relaxation, a momentary reprieve from the homesickness he still felt... but he didn't...

"Ehehe, Quite the assumption my friend, who's to say my colorful and jovial exterior doesn't hide a cold and tortured soul? Ehehe, It doesn't, but it very well could! My life may be happy but that doesn't mean it isn't tiring..." Grins chuckled slightly as he thought about what the man said next... How can one choose what they are? In this world you are what you are from birth, it is a truth that is so integral to the laws of life that to try and go beyond it is lunacy "I am what I am through the choices of another, I'm not saying I'm not happy about it, I'm in fact very content with what I am. Just as you are, presumably, a human, and a man though the choices of biology and chance, I am a clown through not Biology but factors wholly different yet similar. If that makes any sense, ehehehe... Though I have to pause and question why I'm speaking so frankly with someone who is in all intents and purposes a stranger, maybe this tranquil scene has me feeling... Open."

"I suppose that is as good a reason as any..." Grins would chuckle at the vagueness of the man's answer. It was respectable though.

"I don't know, I could go for a bit of boredom right about now... Sometimes boredom is good, gives the mind time to recuperate and prepare itself for the next bit of excitement... But then again the old adage dose hold strong, no rest for the wicked.... Ehehehe" Wicked was a strong word for sure, but an apt one. The wish for calmness and the frankness of his calm demeanor was not lost on the poor robot clown, but they were promptly ignored. After all, a clown needs to slow down every now and again to sometimes right? And the fact that he hadn't made a joke in a good couple seconds was even more proof of this fact.

"Do I appear to not be human to you good sir, do I appear, perhaps, mismatched? I mean, I have two arms, two legs, a head and a torso for which these are all attached. I may speak odd and I may speak in rhyme. Though do I act inhuman, mmm from time to time." The odd clown would slowly stand and arch itself to-my full hight, standing slightly taller then my proportions would seem to allow. Legs slightly to long, arms dangling at an angle that may seem slightly abnormal... Grin showing perhaps one to many teeth."Yet you ask of me for my secrets... You as for my truth. You ask the one thing I almost never do, speak sooth... My dear lad," I said taking one step forward and seemed to move at lest three closer,"Tis to soon, perhaps after another meething between us has been had..."

With that I would-walk past the man standing int he road, our time together coming to an end... after all he asked the magic question, perhaps unintentionally, perhaps he did not even ask it at all, but some one here did, and that's all that matters to 8D. Grins, however, would stop before getting to far away and turn to ask one last question."OH! how terribly rude of me! I never asked your name my new friend. Tell me, what do they call you?"

"Why indeed... Perhaps a laps in judgement or maybe I felt it necessary to speak about in some fashion, and allowed myself to say to much in my relaxed haze... Ether way, I wouldn't say intimidate, no, more simply put I'm trying to have a bit of fun! Ehehehe... Streach my legs a little, been sitting for far to long" 8D chuckled under his breath and felt a familiar sensation of interest bubble up from the pit of his stomach... he would continue down the path and  lazily wave goodbye to the man in the road.

"If I may all you Gray, then you may call me Grins. It was a pleasure meeting your Grey, I hope we can meet and have another interesting chat... Until then however, fair well!". 8D grinned and laughed until he was well out of sight and earshot.
