Good on a promise [sonia/gabe]

Back again in the place that Gabe didn’t really think that he was going to come back to so soon, he wondered what he would experience once more after entering the art room. “Hello…..” Gabe would say as he knocked on the door and walked in. He basically excused himself, due to the fact that he atleast made himself welcome after meeting with one of the members. Well, he thought that the girl was one of the members of the art club. Even though she seemed a little blank, she was very nice. Maybe it was a thing, who really knows? After all, whats a Terrorists place to judge other people?

He didn’t know what he would see or expect upon opening the door, but he hoped that someone would be here. After saying that he would show up tomorrow, Gabe wanted to make good on his promise to the young girl

Sitting in the art room, Trinity continued her work, it was the same work as the day before. She had started with the same Idea in mind, Starting by making an initial Model and then she moved on and on to see if the next one had any improvement, then she did so once more, Then once more, each time looking to see what she improved on and what she got worse at. spending a few minutes on each model when she studied the differences and improvements. she had brought more food this time and even some cards because she had remembered that she had Gabe coming back today and he has said he would give a show, the extra food was for sharing, and the cards were because it was the easiest thing for her to think of that could be used as a prop.

Though it wasn't the only thing she brought, she had actually bought a magic set, brought it with her, and had it all ready to go for Gabe when he got there. It was designed for simple tricks but she hoped it would have what he needed to at least work a few other tricks if he wanted to, she didn't want him to have to show up and find nothing to work with after all.

A short time later she heard a knock on the door, when she turned around Gabe was already walking in, just like the day before the room was empty, and she waved a little as she sat there on her stool, the table all around her had the little models she made on it, and once more they all looked like twisted tortured damned souls that prayed for the release of unmaking that would soon come when it was time to clean up and leave, or when Trinity needed more clay. "Welcome back Gabe, how was your day?" she asked in her monotone as she sat there lookign at him with her expressionless gaze.

"Oh?" Gabe looked around and noticed a few things that weren't there before. "You managed to supply me with my own set of cards, as well as a little bit of a magic kit. How much did this cost again?" Gabe would say with a smile. Nola, you didnt have to do all of this, just the small pack of cards will do. " Looking around nola and the strange fixtures of sculptures she surrounded herself with, strange but amusing as usual. "My days fine, how about yours? Did anything good happen?" Gabe was inquiring about her day, hoping everything went well with her so far.

She sat there and grabbed her bag, pulling out some of the food she brought with her, and even a little hot plate to warm some of it up on. As she did this She heard Gabe mentioned she didn't have to supply him with anything to which she looked up at him and tilted her head a bit, "We did not know what you would require, so we got the basic supplies for tricks if you decided to do them. We also decided that since Magic acts are technically counted under the clubs purview that having at least a basic set would be useful for you and for the club even if you decided not to join it, Do not worry, We will be reimbursed the cost of it so it was no trouble".

She turned around a moment as she started to clear away the clay and the models, set up the hot plate, as well as take out the food she had brought, she didn't know what he would consider good fare so she had brought a small selection of things she had made and then looked over at him, her face expressionless as he replied to her other question "Our day has been interesting, we had taken time to practice our instruments and some songs, other then that though We have had a relaxing time Working on our Sculptures, We think we may in fact be improving if only a little....Do you like chicken...beef...or pork?" she asked as she gestured to the containers of food as she unpacked them.

"I was just making sure. I didnt want you to go through the trouble, i brought my own deck if that was the case. "Also, Gabe just so happened to have a soulbound that was basically playing cards as well. It was all apart of the act, and he wanted to try something a little crazy for starters , but maybe not this time. Maybe he would stick wkith the deck. "Alright, i could of worked with a little less...but... Show must go on.

With that being said, Gabe was in the mood to pefrorm now. " Alright now... come by the table...and..... ah... i like chicken.... and.... wow... you really ahve improved. " Gabe would say, a little sidetracked. " You know, i think you are stating to get better with each passing day. I wonder how your sculptures would look like in a week. Also, come by the table when you are ready for a small show.

"It was no trouble, it was easy to procure the needed Items, if it is required later by the club at least now we have it so in the end it's not something that requires worrying about at all" she replied as she started to take the precooked food out and started to warm up his portion, he asked for chicken and so she added some of the chicken breast she had cooked to the plate, she then looked over to him as he mentioned the table and coming over for the little act and she nodded as she added rice to his plate, as well as a few chicken balls she had made at home, and she started to let it all warm up making sure it didn't get to hot, just warm enough to enjoy.

After a bit she slipped it off the hot plate and carried it over to him with a heat mat and a fork, as she placed it of to the side of the table he was going to do his act on she walked back to her bag and slipped out a little cooler and opened it carrying the contents of it over to the table, the contents being some katsup, some soy sauce, even mustard, all nice and neat for use. Finally she slipped another little case out of her bag and opened it to show a few spices, salt and pepper included "Your food is ready" she said with a little bow.

She then walked to the chair across from him at the table and sat down, her own meal warming up at the moment and she nodded a bit s she looked at him "Thank you, We have been practicing every day for a long time, we only manage to make little improvements though, We are ready for your show now though, thank you for preforming for us"

"I'll eat after the show is over, alright?" Gabe would say with a smile as he patted Nola on the shoulder. "Now then...." Gabe started to get into the small mood that he always gets into when it comes to performing in general. "Actually..." Gabe would say as he mysteriously placed the deck of cards on the table. "Now then Nola, i need you to pick a number between 10 and 20. Afterwards, count that many cards off the top of the deck, one at a time. "After she had done this, Gabe would go off to the next part of the trick. "Then..since we are still in school, a little bit of math if you will... add the digits together and count that many cards back off the top of the pile onto the deck. Then Flip over the next card...." The card that Nola flipped, *Lets say the 3 of clubs for now* was actually a pre-placed card in the deck, sneaked in by gabe literally picking up the deck for those few moments and placing it back down in a dexterous display of skill. As a matter of fact, this was done when nola was paying attention to the food, so she probably thinks Gabe hasn't even touched or fiddled with the deck at all. What was the point of this trick?

She nodded to his comment on eating once he was done giving her the show he promised, it made sense, after all she doubted it would be easy to focus on the show if he was also eating the whole time, and so she sat there looking at him her meal behind her on the other table warming slowly, she had also planned to eat after she watched the show, so she had turned the hot plate down to the lowest setting it had, it would warm the food but nothing more, which was exactly what she wanted, and she watched as he got ready to start.

The start was a bit unexpected, and she nodded as he gave her the instructions, and she grabbed the deck and counted off fifteen cards, setting them to the side before returning the deck to the table between them. She then looked back up at him and listened to the next set of instructions, and she did so, counting up 6 cards and placing them on top of the deck and flipping over the next one.

Seeing the card she seen the card and looked back up at him, all this did was show her the three of clubs, but she failed to see it was the product of the trick as he had only told her to do things, not once did he make a prediction of anything of the sort, so she sat there and waited for him to give her the next instruction, as she was unaware that his trick was done, she only assumed it was a warm up or a lead up to the actual trick.and so she tilted her head as she waited for the next order.

Ok, put them all back and cut the deck as many times as you want. " He watched intently as she cut the deck, if she did. Afterwards, Gabe would then smile as he took the deck back, slightly tilting it a bit at the specific angle that he remembered where the 3 of clubs would be and had the best probability as to where it would be. "ok, the magic has been completed! place the deck down and watch this, the first card that you picked was the.... three of clubs right?" gabe would say as he drew off the top card and it turned out to be the three of clubs. "Lucky!!!" Looks like you had the magic touch all along Nola. " Truth be told, the point of the trick was to increase his odds of gaining the exact same card, 2 out of 53 was better than a one card chance, and the convenience of it all was the fact that he managed to get it this time around.

"You know, that trick had the highest chance to fail, and look how it turned out. Are you ready for the real show now? The magic of luck is a gamble at times, He was just gettong started. Of course he cheated, but she didn't need to know that.

She nodded as she put the card back and she started to cut the deck, and she continued to cut it for a god solid minute, in all she cut it roughly fifty times before she finished, Finally when she was done she looked up at him then as he handled the cards and placed them back down she watched as he flipped over the first card and it was indeed the card she had looked at, she tilted her head a moment as she looked at the card then to Gabe then back again, that gentle neutral little huff her only reaction as she picked up the deck and looked at it. Shuffling it a few times clumsily before handing it to him again to request he do it once more, she wanted to know how to do it, or at least to understand it a bit.

But as she was holding the deck out to him he explained a bit, it was luck based? so then there was ways to tilt luck in your favor when doing magic tricks? That made a lot of sense, so then he did something to tilt the odds in his favor for that last trick. That answered a lot of her questions, it didn't lessen the entertainment of it though, and it was enough for her to appreciate the work that must have gone into it, and so she wriggled the deck at him a bit, her expressionless gaze still focused on him with those unblinking eyes "more please" she said as she waited.

"I was just thinking, how about something special this time around?" Gabe spread the deck and had a card selected, the five of hearts. He then cut all cards above selected card to the bottom. Skillfully, Gabe then had the card removed and replaced on the top of the deck, face up. Undercut half the deck, he held it at a particular angle where hes seemingly maintaining eye contact with nola and peek at the bottom card in his peripheral vision. "Okay...."" Gabe dropped the cards in his right hand on top of the face up card. He did it about twice, memorizing his drops and keeping the after card face down next to the five of hearts.

"When the face-down cards are turned face up, they are seen to be the mates of the selected cards in color and value. Best friends, but this relates to real life right. Someone you mentioned before. This is you ..." When Gabe pointed to the five of hearts. And this is Myrna...one of the same? Who knows, but i noticed you used two different names on the first occasion we met. " Gabe would say as he flopped the 6 of hearts. " A sense of pairs, in color , in shape, just the next one over.."

As Trinity looked at him he mentioned something special and she nodded a bit as she sat there looking at him and waiting for the act to start again, she was unsure how he did the first trick, but learning a bit about the fact that magic was a bit of a gamble and apparently about manipulating odds she was satisfied with that answer. Though as she thought about it, she should give him something in return for the show...maybe he would enjoy going to a show himself? she could easily procure a ticket for him to attend one of her concerts, it was only fair after all, her gave her a show of his talent, so she should give himj a show of hers in a place she can fully show it. With that decided in her mind she would have to get one for him for tomorrow, it would just mean getting him back to the room to give it to him then, Hopefully he would like the show once he saw it.

She then watched his next trick, it seemed to utilize cutting the cards but she didn't see any determinable pattern it just seemed to be random to her unknowing eyes, Though once more she assumed he must have been doing something to tilt the odds in his favor, but once again she didn't strain to figure out what it was as the tricks were enjoyable, so she sat and watched and as he displayed the cards she looked at them and nodded a bit as she showed her the two cards, so it was a question mixed with a trick then? She wasn't entirely sure. "Interesting....you made the cards sit with a matching card in the deck..." she said as she looked at the cards a moment then got up from her seat.

Walking over to the table with her food she carried it back to the table where Gabe was doing his tricks and she sat down and watched him again, setting her food to the side to cool and to continue watching the show, that gentle neutral huff escaping her as she looked on waiting for more. then vocalizing her expectations "are you going to do more?" she asked as she gave a little clap to the show so far.

"More?! I thought you would never ask!" Gabe would say in a very excited tone, what else could he show her today? "Something a little unexpected?" Gabe tossed all  four aces face up onto the table,  Arranging the aces in a face-down row. He fanned off three cards from the top of the deck and placed them on top of one of the black ace of spades."How about a little magic?" Gabe tapped the pile  of four cards and placed the pile of four cards on top of the deck. As he did, Gabe gave got a break with your left little finger beneath the top card of the four, Double-cutting this card to bottom of the deck.

Turning over the top and bottom of the deck, he showed that it wasn't the ace on either sides. "Oh, i wonder where they went?" Gabe once again fanned  off the top three cards and place them on another ace. He picked up the four cards ant placed them on the top of the deck, double cutting the deck once more and  showing the top and bottom card again. "No Aces....Oh? Is this a repeating process? Maybe third times the charm?" Gabe smiled, this was the important part of the trick. Gabe fanned off three cards from the top of the deck and place them on top of one of the two remaining aces, carefully even the pile up now turn the pile over, showing the ace on the bottom. He placed the pile face down on top of the deck. Showing the top and bottom cards as before.  "WAit for it..."

Gabe double cut the top card to the bottom and fanned the three cards ontop of the last ace. Flipp9ing the  three cards in the same row like manner, he showed the other aces. "And there we go."

Trinity continued to watch the magic show Gabe was doing. By the looks of things Gabe was quite enjoying giving the show as well as depicted by the way he was interacting with her, it seemed different then they way he had talked with her the day before, almost like putting on a show made him feel like he was younger. Tilting her head as she continued to watch him shuffle and then split the cards, dealing some out and taking out the aces. The trick continued with him starting to cut, deal, and pile the cards onto the ones in front of her, while at the same time he continued to add some commentary and showmanship to his little act. Even though it was only her sitting there watching. It made it quite obvious that he simply loved doing this, it made her feel glad she asked him for a little show.

It was almost more fun watching him preform then watching the actual trick, he was that energetic seeming and just let out that much energy to give to the audience, which at the moment was just her. She had to wonder if he had ever considered trying to put on an act in Suzie Q or somewhere else where he could get a crowd together and simply do his tricks, she wondered what he would be like then?

As she pondered this he seemed to finish his trick and she nodded a bit as she looked at the card, he had manged to manipulate the cards and ended up with all four aces in a group once more even after all those cuts and pilings and she clapped though her face still showed no expression "That was very good, A very enjoyable show. Did you want to do another? or would you like to eat now?" she asked as she looked at him expectantly, her voice was monotone as usual but she had meant every word of it, she had quite enjoyed the show he gave.

Gabe would then make a sharp bow and smile. "Well then , i thnk that about wraps it up for the time being. That is my show young Nola, i hope you enjoyed yourself. " After taking another bow, Gabe would leave the d3eck on the table and shifted over to the food that Nola left for him. "You know, you didn't have to make all of this. I'm guessing it's home made from the way it looks, doesn't necessarily look prepackaged at all. So i am quite thankful, and happy as well. What made you want to cook today anyway? i thought baking was your thing? Well, i assumed that it was.. " Gabe would of swore to the heavens that Nola was more of a baker than anything else. But after taking a bite out of the chicken ball she left him, Gabe would smile. "Once again, you managed to wow my taste buds. Are you sure you arent supposed to be int he cooking club?" Gabe would say jokingly.
