"Well, they're getting paid for this still, so I don't see a paticular reason to be annoyed by this." Oswald said, returning the lighthearted chuckle. "If you say so, Maria." Belle leaned back in her chair a bit, taking a glimpse of what she could see of the kitchen from where she sat.

"Well, so long as it isn't affecting you negatively, you really have no reason to, do you?" Oswald would remark. "It's not up to others to decide how you live your life, now is it?" Oh, if he only knew. His thought-process was obviously colored by his past, not really giving a damn about what other people thought about him, and really, his profession hadn't always been this honest as a bodyguard. He had been doing shadier jobs just to stay alive.

"I sure hope not. You're paying money for this stuff. If he ruins it, you could sue him, if nothing else." Oswald replied with a light shrug. "How do you prove something like that though? Don't you need evidence?" His sister commented with a raised eyebrow. "There's probably a way. People have been sued over more obscure stuff before."

"The cadets? Hrm... I don't have much experience with them, actually. I guess they're okay. Quite helpful those few times I needed their assistance in work. All in all, I'd say they have a pretty good job." Maybe something that suited him? He'd consider it if someone actually recommended him to join. He still had a Shadow Weapon inside of him after all... Who knows, maybe the Queen had done her research on him...

Maria could only nervously chuckle at their responses about the chef and her eating habits. They were rather defensive of her and seemed to show much care for her, not that she didn't appreciate it. She just wasn't sure how to react to them. They reminded him of that one eccentric man she met in the morning, but they were still different. At the least they had a better idea of social cues. The Cadet was glad that the mercenaries didn't seem to mind her kind. Perhaps they might meet up with each other at some point. Then again...

The reason why the two had been so accepting of her was... well... them being very different as well. Being judgemental of Maria would just make them hypocrites, no? Oswald's choice of work was certainly not common, nor was it for the secretary and manager to be an avid videogamer. Her choice of everyday clothing didn't really help much either. So, in a way, they were just as odd as her, if only in more subtle ways, but that didn't stop them from being polite, now did it?

"The thought have certainly crossed my mind, but... I'm not sure if I'll apply myself. If they reach out to me, sure, but as things are right now... Not sure." Oswald answered, with Belle nodding. "Sure, we work with the government on occasion, but We're not officially cadets."

"I see..." Maria murmured as she finally leaned back against her chair, "Mmn, I suppose we'll see. I think the city would feel safer if you joined.

She remembered how small the number of recruits were back in the Queen's chambers. Could they ever take on the city's protection with just this paltry number? Maria wasn't quite sure, but the higher-ups seemed confident enough. Then again, people like Alex, Chris, and Claire were there. At least there were veterans to show them the ropes.

As she thought to herself, Maria noticed the waitress returned, this time with the multitude of orders that the nun had asked for on top of Oswald's and his sister's. That was considerably fast, but clearly on Maria's side, it wasn't everything. She thanked the waitress and looked back at the siblings with an eager smile. "Let's dig in."

"I'll consider it, Maria." Oswald replied with a light smile. "Mhm! I'm sure it pays well!" The young red-head would rub her hands greedly as she spoke. "Alright, let's not get ahead of ourselves here."

"Yes. Let's."

And as the dinner went on, the trio kept up their small talk, ranging from smaller details about the world around Endymion to the more intrictate details on the current city they lived in. Highscores at the arcades, the locales and all that fun stuff. But as we all know, all fun things must come to an end, and so, after a very satisfying dinner, they paid for their food, and the trio left the resturant. On their way out, however, Oswald would hand over a small buissness card with Oswald's SNS Details and such in case she ever wanted to contact them. "If you wish to meet again, just give us a call. My sister seems to have taken quite a liking to you." The mercenary said with an overall pleased look on his face. And it was on this note that they said their goodbyes and walked their separate paths, With Oswald and Belle going back to the Dragon's Den. "So, what did you think of her?" Belle asked her brother curiously, with an almost devious grin on her lips.

"W-Well, she's alright, I guess."

The man replied, scratching the back of his neck, obviously getting the hits she sent his way. Was he interested at all? Maybe. It was too soon to tell. He wouldn't mind seeing her again though, that's for sure.

Dinner went on nicely enough as they ate and when the waitress grudgingly kept coming back to hand Maria her meals. Nevertheless, it went well. Well enough that she obtained Oswald's business card. She giggled while pocketing the item, The feeling's mutual. I hope to see you two again. Good night.

With that said and done, she was all alone again. It was a pleasant way to enjoy the evening. Stomach full and some talk with rather enjoyable individuals, Maria felt her day was alright. She looked back at the moon in thought and then to her surroundings. There was a massive scale of responsibility and meeting those siblings made it feel even heavier. Yet, she wasn't going to fold and crumble.

She was a tool. A tool for the Queen and for the city's safety. This was her mission. But first, Maria knew she had to head to the Church first. She crossed her fingers hoping Sister Louise didn't mess with the laundry again. With a sigh, she marched off to her final destination for the night.
