| It happened. Tonight, it finally happened. She was able to pass that dangerous test in the Queen's chambers and became a member of the Cadets. Or rather they were called the 'dogs of the Government' according to the blue-headed generalissimo. Maria didn't care what kind of title she was given, so as long as she was able to wield Andraste for the city's cause. That battle gave her much to think about. Her own shortcomings and her own strengths, were something that filled her own mind. Physically, she was strong, yes. But when it came to decision-making, it was where she lacked a lot. Could it be chalked up to inexperience? Maybe, but it still didn't mean she couldn't try to fill up that gap. Yet, the fact that a demon was summoned was something of interest. Yes, the government was able to deal with them. So clearly they must keep some for other purposes and that test was one of them. After all, they were expected to deal with them in this job. "..." The girl silently walked alone with her cargo shouldered against her person. As usual, people stared, but she ignored them. Maria was just walking through Vista Square. The girl paused upon feeling her cellphone vibrate through her clothing. It was Louise. "I see you passed. Congratulations," Maria would hear a pleased familiar voice from the receiver. Louise, or rather, Sister Louise of the Sunlake Palms Church of Isla, was a strange character. Clumsy to a massive fault, she surprisingly was an effective administrator. Yet, also lazy at times, as Maria had experienced in her dealings with her. "How did you find out?"There was soft laughter through the connection, "Dearie, if we're talking right now, then it's a no-brainer. Anyway, how is your body holding up? Anything that I have to tell the doctors?"Maria paused for a moment. She was indeed feeling fairly exhausted. It was only one battle, thankfully. Any subsequent battles, her body would be heavily taxed for sure to its fleeting limits. It was a fact that with all the enhancements on her body, she was going to lack in doing any long-lasting skirmishes. At the same time, the blue head was feeling very hungry. "No, Sister. Just tired and hungry.""Wonderful~," Maria heard her chirp, "Get yourself something to eat. You earned it. I'll see you-- AHHH! NO! YOU-- I JUST BEAT THIS BOSS! WHYYYYYY!!!"Maria just hung up and sighed. Another of her video games, probably another RPG and the console short-circuited from her own negligence of cleaning her room. The girl silently swore to herself that she'll force that grown woman to actually take care of herself for once. Her stomach rumbled to remind her of her hunger. She looked to the side to spy upon some random restaurant of interest. It seemed a bit packed, but that was only because of its cheap prices and great quality. She muttered to herself while walking towards it, "Might as well..."With a chorus of "welcome" by the staff, Maria would find herself seated at the only table open to her. There was only two chairs, one of them that Maria sat on. She would only wait to see how long it would take for the waiters to come for her order. As she did, the girl tapped against the table with a thoughtful finger. | |

| And so, nightfall came, and Oswald stood outside The Dragon's Den, with a small keychain dangling from his finger as the mercenary waited for his sister to leave the building. What better way was there to end their last day off than to go out and eat something fancier for once? There was nothing wrong with home-made food, mind you, he just felt like finishing off the day with a bit more flare than usual. He had even taken off his Eyepatch for the occasion, showing off his Icy blue left eye to the public. Something he rarely ever did nowadays. Being heterochromatic was eyecatching for sure, but tonight, he didn't bother with the looks people gave him. Just wearing that bloody thing now only reminded him of work.
"Well then, Brother. Shall we go?" His younger sister, Belle, looked exceptionally good today, having dressed up in a fancy getup for the occasion, much like himself. Oswald wore a standard grey suit, accompanied by a pair of black chinos and a white dress shirt to go with it. The suit itself was kept open. Belle on the other hand wore a beautiful marine blue, glittery dress, which contrasted well against her Dark Red hair. Normally, she had her hair tied up for everyday work, but today, she let her hair hang free and wavy, almost looking like flames in contrast to her blue, ocean-like dress. On said dress, she had a single, silver pin shaped like a snowflake. "I've always liked that dress." Oswald remarked, nodding towards her fancy, eyecatching getup. "Mhm! Who would've thought that you had such a great taste when it comes to women's clothing?" Belle replied with a light giggle. Oswald had been the one who bought her this dress last christmas. A gift she adored. "So, where are we going?" His sister asked, intrigued. Of course, he had kept the resturant of choice a secret, since he actually felt like suprising her a bit today. Say whatever you want about Oswald, but he sure knows how to pamper his sister. "Hehe, You'll see." No protests from her. A good sign indeed. With that out of the way, the two would slowly make their way towards Vista Square.
"Ooooh! This place?!" Oswald nodded towards his sister, happy to see that his resturant of choice had been to her liking. After taking a peek inside however, her face would slowly go from a happy smile to a sour pout. "It looks rather full though..." And indeed it did. The place was rather popular after all, so it didn't actually suprise him all that much. But there was... one table that looked empty enough for them to eat at, if nothing else. There was just one girl sitting there by her lonesome. "Well, I've found us a table." Oswald replied with a faint smile, pointing out the table to Belle. "you sure that's okay? I mean, it's her table, no?" The redheaded girl looked conflicted, as both she and Oswald did their best to ignore the weird looks they got from everyone else. "Well, we can always ask." The man shrugged lightly, before making his way towards Maria's table with his sister following behind him. "Excuse me, miss? Are these seats empty?"

| She was waiting for the waiter to come, but it seems she underestimated the business of the establishment. But that was fine. The night was still pretty young and it was all to herself. After a quick meal and then a shower back home, the last bits of the night would be spent doing some studying, chores, and some random surfing in the webs. Then again, it would be the last one that takes up her night the most. There were people that wanted to sit at her table, causing her to blink at their request. She was looking around to see if they were referring to someone else, but it seemed like they were talking to her. Maria couldn't blame them, since this establishment was busy. "Sure. Feel free." She shifted her coffin further to her own side so they would have room. Then she spied upon a nearby free chair that no one using and pulled it towards them to sit on in addition to the other free chair that was in front of Maria. That said and done, she looked back towards the siblings. "Pretty busy today, isn't it?" | |

| Belle would flash a relieved smile towards Maria, as she promptly sat down on the chair next to her, while Oswald picked the chair on the opposing side of the table. "Thank you, miss~!" The woman said in a more chipper tone. Oswald, who lightened up himself a bit seeing his sister being pleased with the outcome, he'd give Maria one of his rare smiles. "Indeed. Thank you. I'm Oswald Schritt, and this is my sister, Belle." Belle offering the other woman a handshake as Oswald introduced them both. "Yeah. I know it's a pretty popular resturant, so it's to be expected." The mercenary replied, flapping through the pages of the menu absentmindedly. "Yeah. I'm suprised we managed to find a table. I guess we're lucky, huh?" Indeed. Had Maria not been so welcoming of the two, Oswald would've been hardpressed to find another resturant for the occasion, and considering he had made the decision of going to this resturant of all places basically on the fly, he didn't have the time to properly book a table. Lady luck seemed to smile upon him today. Something that rarely ever happened. "I take it you've had a long day? You're looking quite tired, I'll be honest." Oswald asked, both curious, and just his (albeit very bad way) of starting some small talk while the three decided on what to eat. She did seem friendly enough though, so maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to share tables with her. | |

| She nodded at the two of them, both being siblings to one another, they were obviously grateful to have a place to eat at. And Maria really didn't mind. It wasn't like they were asking her to vacate her seat after all. "I'm Maria Woodsworth. Mhm, it is quite packed."
She looked back at the rest of the restaurant, but could only see rushing waiters taking orders and carrying around trays laden with meals. It looked like it might take a while, so it prompted the nun to finally open up the booklet to see what she would like to try.
"Something like that. Been busy all day," Maria admitted with a nod, "How about you two? How were your days?"

| "It seems busier than normal, actually. I walk by here quite often recently, and it's never been this full before. Is there something going on here today, perhaps?" He'd look around at the other guests in an attempt to find something that stood out among them, but to no avail. "We've been taking the day off from our usual work, and we thought to finish the day with a fancier meal." Belle replied to Maria with an ecstatic smile. "It was his idea to go out today." Oswald nodded. "Well, you've been working hard over the last couple of months, Belle. You've earned this." The older brother replied with an amused chuckle. "You see, Maria. I'm working as a bodyguard for hire in the BackLight district, and Belle's in charge of our customers. Since we own the buissness ourselves, we have to manage everything by ourselves as well. It's not an easy job, so sometimes, you have to give yourself a pat on the back, and reward yourself for a good job. Otherwise, the motivation dwindles quickly." Of course, there was no free waiters nearby. They had to be really busy tonight, given the amount of customers. Oswald of course recognized a few as some of his previous clients, but he chose not to approach them, as he wanted the relationships between him and them to stay as Client and Service Provider. No strings attached. | |

| "I'm not sure, to be honest. I don't think anything special happened today. Maybe it's just chance this time around. I guess it happens," she shrugged at the brother and beamed towards the sister, "Finishing off with some needed indulgence after some hard work? I can agree with that. It makes the day even easier."Maria thought back at her long day. Yes, she was moving around and doing things remarkably a lot today. And she even awakened and survived the test. While not pleased with the results, she did make her first step towards her own personal goal. Then again, tonight might be her last day to actually enjoy herself without having the government influencing more heavily on her own life. What Oswald said had made Maria turn pensive, thinking inwardly to herself. She doubted it, but would her drive dwindle? It was a thought that felt very scary to her. But no... it wouldn't. Maria would not let it. Her own true reward would be the fruit of her own labor, nothing more and nothing less. Then she gently smiled back up towards Oswald, "I see. That's true. I think I'll keep that in mind.""So how's business going for you two? Doing great?" | |

| "Maybe... I know this is a tradition in Sweden... Usually, once every week, they have something called "After Work" which is just you, and your workmates going out together to finish of the week, often at resturants or bars... Haven't seen it outside of sweden though. At least, not with an official word for it." Oswald shrugged. He doubted that was the case, but... you never know. People may just want to have more fun today than usual? Fancy timing, huh? "Ohh yeah! It's supposedly a lot of fun. We never tried it ourselves though." Belle nodded with a dreaming look on her face.
"I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that the carrot is better than the stick." Oswald replied with a light chuckle. "Well... Most of us do. Remember that guy we met in Spain? M-something..." Belle said with a thoughtful expression on her face, trying to remember the guy's name. "Manuel? Oh yeah. Pretty sure he was a masochist though." The two siblings chuckled together at the memories. "Wow... that was a long time ago now... 7 years, almost." The older brother looked around while his sister kept talking. What the hell took those waiters and waitresses so long? There couldn't be THAT many more customers before them, now could it?
"Mhm! You gotta have fun every now and again! Even though my brother's a stick in the mud like no other at times." Oswald grunted almost inaudibly at the comment, but he chose not to fight it, since he knew she was right. Oswald was a stubborn man when it came to a lot of matters. Seemingly the only thing that could budge him on something like money was his sister. And who could blame him? She was the only family that he had left.
"Hm? Oh, it's going okay. A decently active week overall. But nothing too extraordinary. Had it been more busy, I couldn't have afforded the time to take this day off. " Indeed. This week had been rather busy, but mostly because one of his older clients showed up again. Charged with bodyguarding his son on his birthday. Was like that every year. And it probably wasn't going to change, unless the terrorists were properly dealt with.

| She watched and heard their lively interactions with each other. Brother and sister, she remembered when she had them. There was envy in her eyes in each moment. At the same time, they did seem to have enjoyed themselves traveling out of this city. It made her wonder a few things.
"So you guys aren't natives from the city?" Maria asked them curiously. Judging how they were talking, they didn't exactly sound like they were from this city to start with, "What's it like outside of here? I've pretty much lived here my whole life."
She wondered what life outside of the city was like. Then remembered something about Julius talking with those two individuals. A set of islands and the mountains, they were two other places that had people. It made her wonder what the Government would plan to do with them and if she might have to get involved since she worked for them.
"That's good to hear. So where are you guys from?"

| "No, we're not." Oswald replied with a shrug. It wasn't that difficult to guess now, since he had just said they'd been traveling around the world for the majority of their lives now. "Aside for the governmental things, not much different, I dare say... At least, from what we've seen." Belle answered, twirling a bit of her red hair around her finger. "Your whole life? Like... you haven't even visited a neighbouring city at all?" Oswald asked with a raised eyebrow. It seemed a bit odd for one to be completely rooted in place for one's entire life... You had to get out of the city someday, right?
"Oh, We're from Germany." Belle said with a smile, looking up from her menu at Maria. "Yeah. Trust me, it's nothing to write home about." How long would they have to wait to get their orders...?

| Maria felt a bit skeptical, but they were the only ones that did come from outside of the city. So she would have to take their word for it. Even if she may, it felt pretty disappointing. She admitted with a sad smile, "No. I've been here as long as I could remember. I just had a lot of things to do, really."From her earliest childhood, she helped her parents run their restaurant. After the Eternal Divide, she was cooped up in the Church and in the hills to continue her training to become the Government's weapon. There was rarely some time for her or any opportunities to get out of the city. And why would she? The girl had her ties here in the city and she wasn't going to leave it any time soon. "Germany? Wow, you came from really far away." From a distance that far, they definitely had some stories. But, the duo didn't seem too keen to share them. Maria respected this and looked back at the menu before finally choosing what she wanted. Almost as if by precise timing the waitress finally came, apologizing for the long wait. "I'll take the half-pound steak, medium rare with fries and coleslaw. The Chicken Alfredo pasta, heavy on the fettuccine. Bratwurst with the sauerkraut... " she continued to place her order while flipping through the menu. The waitress seemed to stare at her while writing each meal down in her notepad. No doubt, even the German siblings would look at her strangely. Maria was clearly eating a lot. But surely that shouldn't be an issue. While a growing girl and having such power in her body, they needed as much sustenance as possible. Then she finally finished with a drink, "...drumsticks and water. That'll be all."The nun beamed back at the worried waitress, who clearly was hoping she was actually ordering for the whole table, and then at the siblings. This was just another day for her. But surely, she wasn't a glutton... Right? | |

| "Ah, I see. Would you like to go someplace else?" Belle asked, genuinely interested in the subject. Oswald was of course listening too. There was something about her that he liked. It was just difficult putting a finger on what exactly, so for now, he'd remain quiet about it.
"You're certainly hungry..." Oswald stated bluntly, looking at Maria with a stunned expression. Like seriously, she didn't look like she could even house that much food without bursting... How did she plan on...? Unless she had some craaazy metabolism... but what did he know? "I'll just take the first thing she ordered." He nodded towards Maria before looking back at the waitress. "As for drinks, just give me a Guinness. Belle, what do you want?" He'd turn towards his sister, who flipped through the pages thoughtfully before stopping on the pasta dishes. "I'll have some of that... Tagliolini a la Limon, please. Oh, and a cola would be nice as well."

| Maria shook her head. She was too tied to this place. After all, her very body and the Demon Weapon she wielded was owned by the government. There was clearly no way she was going to be free of this place and she didn't really mind. Her interests remained here and not away. Perhaps the outside might sound interesting, but that's all there is to it for her. It's just outside. "Maybe. But I have business here. I'm not at liberty right now to leave."
Maria couldn't say a word at Oswald's remark. She looked away while starting to flush pink. The girl was a little bit self-conscious of her gluttony after all, but that really didn't stop her from indulging in it. She knew that compared to her own orders, the siblings were very tame and at least weren't gluttons like her.
The waitress took their orders and explained it would take a while. She gave a side-glance at Maria before leaving. The nun gave an apologetic look and then returned her attention back to the siblings. Maria admitted, "She... doesn't sound very pleased."

| "Aww... that's a shame..." Belle replied, looking slightly saddened by this. Had she been secretly planning on taking Maria with her for a trip...? "She has her reasons for wanting to stay here, you know?" Oswald raised an eyebrow at his younger sister. "I know! But I..." She began, but only for her to be interrupted by the Waitress coming to their table.
"Hm? Oh, that's nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone has different eating habits." He quickly added, realizing (too late mind you) his miss-step. "My brother's rather brash with his words. He rarely wants to hurt you, even if he ends up doing so by accident." Oswald grunted again. Brash was something he definetly was, but still, having his own sister cover for him like that was... irritating. In the end, he wouldn't do much else to display his displeasement with her treatment.
"Well, then that's her problem, no? I wouldn't bother too much about that, so long as the chef doesn't end up spitting in your food." Oswald replied with a light chuckle. That had happened to him once when he visited New York. He had refused to tip the waiter and as a result... well, the chef had spat in his drink. Needless to say, that Chef learned a lesson afterwards. Oswald wasn't anyone you'd want to piss off, being a mercenary trained in hand to hand combat. "And if the chef does end up doing something to your food, we'll pay him a visit." Belle said with a wide grin, which betrayed the sinister nature behind what she was saying. In a way it was rather creepy, but that didn't make it less true. "Mhm, so don't worry about it too much. Just enjoy the food and company."

| "I... I don't think it'll make the waitress or the cook any happier," she chuckled nervously in reply, "Don't worry it's fine. I do need to fix my habit one day."At some point, Maria wondered if she would get fat very quickly if her body stopped exercising. It was a thought that was quite unappealing, yet curious. But, it will stay as a curiosity and not a reality as she wasn't that interested in testing it out. Maria gave them a raised eyebrow as she spoke, "I doubt the chef would do that so as long as we remain... reasonable. So you don't have to do that."The two seemed awfully into using violence as an answer, but they were a mercenary group of their own after all. But Maria wasn't exactly one to talk despite wanting to avoid it. She clasped her hands together in thought. What did being a Cadet mean? As far as she knew, they were the city's protectors. Hence, it was possible for her to serve the Queen. But what did the People think? "I'm wondering... What do you guys think of the Cadets?" | |
