| Jack tilted his head and watched Maria take her stance. He was going to have to do this, wasn't he? Yup, this was the homework. He scratched the side of his head and raised a brow while watching. Boy, he didn't really feel like doing this what so ever. Sighing, he'd follow the instructions and tuck his elbows in. Taking this fighting stance, he'd attempt to mirror her as much as possible. When she did her punch, he did his own. Though the form was the same, the power behind the blow would be severely lacking compared to her own. After all, she had much more training than him. Well atleast strength training. Doing fifty of those was so boring! He rubbed the back of his neck and looked to the site with his mouth slightly agape. "Ehhhh? Fifty? Maybe hand to hand combat isn't something for me, but I can give it a try." He said unmotivated.
"Well, I guess we can call it a day here. Sounds like I have alot to dooo... Though you wouldn't be able to tell if I cheated, right?" A devilish smirk came across his face, and it almost appeared like he had horns on the top of his head. Jack chuckled to himself as he left the gym with his arms folded behind his head. He'd leave Maria with the sound of his devilish laughing. Their relationship was odd to say the least. They weren't particularly friends, yet they were not enemies either. | |

| She observed what he was doing and deemed it was adequate for a beginner. He just needed to practice it a bit and see where it all goes. If Jack was diligent, then heading to more advanced levels wouldn't be too much of a problem or hassle. But given his behavior, it meant otherwise. "Just do your best, it's all I ask," she replied while sighing, "But I don't really care too much if you cheat. The only one who's hurting the most from it is yourself. Remember that."She shrugged as her not-friend-not-enemy was leaving the gym. Will Jack end up doing as she asked? Perhaps not, but Maria can't say that she didn't try. The path to the mastery of martial arts isn't solely influenced by talent, but by hard work ultimately. If Jack lacked that, then his progress would no doubt be slow. Now that she was alone, Maria sighed and wiped off some sweat from the back of her neck. Perhaps it was time for her to go too. She looked around the area one last time before heading to the showers to wash off and then leave. [Exit] | |
