Dull classes were dull. Maria was more than glad that she was able to leave them soon. She could've sworn that she was about to fall asleep during the lectures. And maybe she did. If so, she wasn't caught yet. But as classes ended, everyone started to file out of the classrooms to head either towards the next class, their club session, or to leave the school entirely for other shenanigans. But Maria stayed behind. She took it upon herself to start cleaning after her fellow classmates. Both with broom and dustpan in hand, she was already working with her classroom first.

Many probably would have said that she should leave it to the janitor. It was his job, right? Well, Maria did it out of habit and for the hell of it. Perhaps she was an upright student, but if that's true, she wasn't in other cases. She just finished cleaning up the class a bit as she exited through the door without broom and dustpan, hopefully that would work to the janitor's favor. Yet, she wouldn't work on the whole floor for now. No, she had to be rested and prepared for the evening.

For now she had time to spare.

"Hmm. What to do..."

How annoying. Brittany could swear she had not forgotten anything at school. Perhaps she lost it at the streets or something, but that would be unlikely. The girl had been to quite a number of places that day, but she could swear she either left it at home, or at Seven Stars. Urgh... This would teach her a valuable lesson to actually check her purse/bag twice before leaving wherever.

No use crying over the spilled milk, isn't that what they say? All she had to do was "relive the day" and redo all the steps so far. Bakery, East Eden weren't possibilities, of course. So all that's left is the Train Station, her home and the Academy. Brittany had lost count on how many times she had stepped on the station ground that day. First thing she did was obviously consult the "Lost&Found Department", in hopes someone would perhaps found what she's been looking for and return it to the competent authorities. Needless to say, the received responses, once inquired, were far from satisfying and the reason why she run through the hallways back to her classroom, passing by a lot of people.

Maria was just looking through her phone, hoping to see if there were any replies back from the Church. Usually they needed her for a few chores in the religious establishment and she would need to head over right away. But the lack of notifications through the LCD screen was gratifying, to say the least. She pocketed her phone and was about to leave the area, but a miniature juggernaut was making way to her direction and to the classroom.

Maria had to gaze at her form. She screamed of the peak of femininity, whereas the nun-wannabe lacked much. At best she looked like a book-ish girl, but she wasn't even that into books either. With her inadvertently attention garnered towards the pink-headed girl, Maria would intercept her while also opening the door for her.

"Uh, hi there! Looks like you need some help. Need a hand?"

Brittany originally intended to go full force on anyone standing on her way, giving how desperate she was. Originally. In reality, she wasn't that mighty to push everyone aside to open her way back to the classroom, and besides, she wouldn't do that anyway. She was desperate, sure, but not impolite. It was a pity that no one seemed to have spotted what she was so eagerly looking for, and while the girl considered losing her hopes but not to stop looking around, a benevolent soul stepped in her way to provide a very welcome assistance.

"...oh, hiii! Yes! Oh my freaking God, yes, so much yes! I, like, totally do need a hand! As in, totally! Have you seen a small towel here? It's white with golden details, it's pretty stylish without being exaggerated and it smells like a flower, sweet scent. That's my towel, I've been searching for it all afternoon, I've been to all places you can imagine! As in, ALL places, looking for it everywhere and I haven't found my precious towel yet! Please, say you've seen it! Pretty please??" The girl sure talks a lot on a daily basis, and even more under strong emotions, and to Maria it would be very very clear this object Brittany was searching had a deep meaning. Or maybe it was just deeply expensive, who knows?

Maria was pretty taken back by how fast the girl was talking. She could barely register what she said, but she slowly nodded her head as it was coming to her. A towel, was it? It seemed rather important to her, but how? It wasn't her business, though she did remember there was something like that in the very classroom she was opening the door to. Where exactly? She couldn't quite remember it.

"I think I saw it in this class. Maybe it's still in there. I'll help you, but first take some deep breaths. It's not the end of the world."

She wanted her to calm down first. That way, she wouldn't make a total mess of things after Maria just cleaned it up. The girl gestured her to enter while asking, "I'm Maria, what's yours?"

So the girl has indeed seen her towel? Brittany felt a crescent urge of happiness grow inside her, along with the biggest surprise in the world, to the point the pink-haired young lady widened her eyes in surprise once Maria revealed the information she long sought for. Why couldn't she search at the Academy first of all places? It would definitely save her a lot of time. "...alright. Calm down. Deep breath. Okay. I...I can do that... M-my name is Brittany..." Maria had asked for Brittany to calm down, but Maria has just told Brittany one thing that would make the girl even more effusive and cheerful than she was before. She probably looked like a kettle about to explode right now. With a very high-pitched squeal, Brit couldn't help herself, suddenly embracing Maria and twirling all over the place while attached to her. "AAAAAAAAAAAAH! You found it! YOU FOUND IT!! We're so totally gonna be bestest friends forever from now on!" Luckily, for Maria, the abrupt display of excitement and affection wouldn't last more than a few seconds, until Brittany detached herself from the glasses girl. "Thank you! You don't know how much this mean to me! I mean, oh my Gosh, I'm so relieved! I thought I had lost it, I would never forgive myself if I had lost my towel! Thank you, thank you so very much!"

Maria was glad that she was calming do--Oh Isla. What is she doing?! She found herself in Brittany's vice grip of a hug and just didn't know what to do. Maria was just at a state of total loss on what to do. Perhaps, this was her greatest crisis yet. If it was the greatest, then it was its shortest thankfully as the pink head finally released her. But she had to admit that she didn't want to be around if it turned out that they couldn't find it inside the classroom. Yet, this was the curse and burden of trying to be as nice of a person she tries to be.

"Um... sure. We can start looking for it inside," she supplied by entering the classroom first, "Please remember to respect my personal space."

Maria was probably harsh about it, but she wasn't really keen in being squished by a girl with such womanly charms that made her feel really self-conscious about herself. Hell, even Lisa looked womanly than Maria, through the bespectacled girl's perspective. But, those sentiments were secondary.

"Do you remember where exactly you left it here? I kinda don't, to be honest."

Personal space? So...did she cross some line with her spontaneous behavior? Brittany blinked a few times, feeling like she was just being scolded by this girl. It wasn't her fault, the girl was simply a burst of emotions like that, but of course her personality wouldn't be appealing to everyone. "Oh, I'm soooo sorry! I made you feel embarrassed, didn't I? Please don't be, that was so not my intention! Won't do it again! Promise!" She crossed her heart with both index fingers and brought them to her lips, sealing the promise with a kiss. Needless to say, not necessarily she'd live up to her promise.

"Oh my Gosh, I don't remember too! I looked at the gym already, because this morning we had a cheerleader presentation there and then I had to head back home in a hurry, get ready and clean to go the agency but gladly today's photoshoot got canceled. That's when I noticed I didn't had it with me, because I couldn't find it anywhere at home! I'm trying to revisit all places I've been up to now in order to find this, I cannot lose my precious little towel", she said, placing both hands on her face in a sign of desperation. "Do you think maybe someone stole it? What am I gonna do?"

"Um, it's fine. So as long as you remember..."

Maria flushed lightly at her. She had to admit Brittany was being all cutesy and all. A bit of it vaguely reminded her of Jack, yet it doesn't at the same time. Perhaps it was the way how she freely expressed herself that gave her that reminder. At least she wasn't rude like that man and was self-conscious about it when reminded. "Let's look for it first and then decide what to do, alright?"

She then entered the room and started to rummage around the place. Other than the remnants of sticky gum underneath the desks and the messy forgotten paper handouts for a class, there didn't seem to be anything matching Brittany's descriptions. At least until she grabbed onto something after checking the next few desks.

Maria asked while holding it up towards Brittany's direction, "Is this it?"

It seemed to look like it, but only the pink head can make the real call.

"Mhm, gotcha! You're the boss!" She nodded happily, following Maria inside the room. The plan was to check every possible desks to find it, right? 'k, she could do that. There were countless desks but it was fine. What is a little bit of work to someone who had been running over the town all day? At times like these she realized how much of pigs the students were. Really, gluing bubblegum underneath the desks? That's way beyond gross. "Ew...", she grimaced for a bit before moving on the next one.

"Hm?", Brittany, who by the time was couched next to another desk to check, lifted her head back to Maria and her eyes seemed like a child earning the best of the Christmas gifts. "Yeees! That's the one!" The description was right there. The white color, the golden little classy details. Brittany got up quickly, soon reaching Maria, grabbing the small towel from her hands and, perhaps childishly, rubbing it against her face. The fabric was just as smooth as always, as well as the pleasant sweet smell of it. "My baby, my dear baby, momma missed you soooo much! Don't do that anymore, you scared me!"

She allowed Brittany to take the article of cloth out of her hands. Maria found herself chuckling at how much care the girl had for the towel. While expressive, she was pretty funny here. But, it was a good thing that they were able to find it. Maria didn't want to deal with a freak out as of this moment.

"I'm glad we found it here. Could've been taken by now. So, is that all or do you need anything else, Brittany?"

"Oh my Gosh, don't even say it, I'd totally have a heart attack if it was already taken!" She looked to the small fabric her hands had a tight grip on, with some sort of dreamy, nostalgic eyes, quite different from the loud and joyful Brittany. She had few memories from her childhood as an orphan, and few good things to remember. This towel, acquired on the last day before the Great Divide, was one of them. "This towel is important to me. Might sound weird, but this was a gift from when I was 13..." She never met again the one who was originally the owner of the piece, and until them, she'd keep the object as a gift. Of course Maria wouldn't know any of this, unless she decided to ask, of course. "I'm sorry I took your time. But I'm also glad I did, thanks to you I have this back!", she proceeded to approach Maria suddenly and deliver a hug on her again, albeit with a shorter duration and less, say, hysterical of a demonstration of gratitude. If Maria somehow shunned Brittany's approach, the pink-haired lady would simply nod, understanding she had made a promise to "not invade her personal space", even if she forgot it for a brief time. Whatever happened, she has the widest grin on her face. "Phew! That was, like, a crazy afternoon for me! I won't hold you anymore, okay? The classes are done anyway, I, like, should go home again. Bernie is waiting for me. Have I said 'thank you' already?"

Maria felt squeamish in the hug once more. But thankfully it wasn't as long as the last. She shared in Brittie's joy and nodded at her. The girl took a glance at the clock in her phone and noticed while she had some time, it was better off spent to start preparing. Night would come soon. "You did, but no need. It was nothing. I have to get going now, I have a busy evening. It was nice meeting you, Brittie. Say hi to Bernie for me. I hope to see you again, see ya!"

She gave a wave while smiling and then started to make her way towards the gym. Brittie seemed like a nice person. Though she could do some work on being a bit more reserved. Not that she hated her out-going personality, but Maria had a feeling this wouldn't be the last she would see of her. Yet, these thoughts are better off concerned about at a later date.
