Being Late [Lisa Lamecia] O56non

Maria was careful to avoid larger crowds of people for very obvious reasons that continued to rest on her back. It was for the very same reason why she avoided the morning ceremony. She refused to have everyone begin to think the incoming days after this one would be full of ominous interpretations because of a giant coffin was in their midst. All that attention the girl would be getting no doubt would be negative. Jack's thoughts of her as a vampire was evidence of this and the girl hated it. She carefully entered the gym, head poking out first to peek around, hopefully trying to find some kind of place to hide the heavy burden for the rest of the day. A gym was really her first choice seeing how it was an area where cumbersome equipment were stored. Now if only if she could locate it somewhere and ask some of the teachers around to see if they're willing to let her set it aside there.

"Now where to put it...?"

Being Late [Lisa Lamecia] 2vxevyq

The sound of sneakers squeaking against the court could be heard from within the gym. A dark haired young woman was running laps around the gym and keeping her pace. Telling from the sweat on her forehead, the woman had been running for some time now. She did not even look in the direction of the newcomer as she continued to her laps. This would continue for a few minutes before she'd run to a stand and grab her water bottle. Taking a few swigs, she'd look down at her watch with round eyes. There was a look of dissatisfaction as she examined her time: ultimately causing her to place her water bottle down and rush back to her starting position. Bending over, she'd count down from three before taking off into a sprint. The young woman would run back and forth, touching the line and doing the same on both ends. Regardless of whatever that was going on right now, the woman seemed more focused on her training than interaction. As the youngest sibling of her two, she knew she needed something that'd set her apart. Julius beat her time in this category, and Serenity was beautiful and smarter than she was. What could she possibly exceed at that would surpass them both for Mother? The thoughts stayed in her head as she continued to her laps.

Maria had hoped the gym was void of any other presence except for teachers. Yet, the sound of moving sneakers promised otherwise. Her shoulders drooped disappointingly at this information. Nevertheless, she was greeted with the sight of a woman partaking in self-training in speed it seems. In fact, the runner was so into it that she didn't seem to even register that someone just entered the gym. It looked like it was only the two of them. What a comforting thought.

Being Late [Lisa Lamecia] UVizknm

"Hello...? I don't mean to bother you from your training, but... um... could you help me for a moment, please?"

Maria waved at the sweating girl in a sheepish greeting. Hopefully she wouldn't mind too much about the coffin. Especially how the girl was able to carry it without much trouble despite the Demon Weapon and its container being extraordinarily bigger than her together. Ree was at least nice enough to acknowledge it as a "good luck charm" earlier when she stopped by for her first introduction into the Orishiki Dojo.

If she finally got her attention Maria would beam in a smile, "Do you know where I can put this aside in the gym? It's something important to me, but I wouldn't want to carry it with me all the time in school."

She gestured at the coffin so that the woman would know what Maria was referring to.

Lisa continued her pace, even with the newcomer calling out for her help. She didn't turn towards her, and only focused on the drills. The sibling wasn't inclined, nor obligated to help someone else. Her focus was solely on training. It was rude to ignore the girl asking for help, but she wouldn't want to risk having a worse time than before. Though, sadly enough, when she was done her last lap and checked her time, it was slower by just a half a second. Her eyes strained and slowly raised to look at the girl. She blamed her for the distraction. If there was one thing Lisa did not like, it was someone interrupting her during her training.

"I don't own this gym, so I can't tell you off. But please, when I'm in the middle of my exercise, do not distract me. This is very important to me." The young woman spoke with a slightly upset tone. She was not happy that the person couldn't find an answer themselves in such a large gym. If she continued to ask where she could store the coffin, Lisa would look around at the large empty room. "Do you think someone is really going to be interested in taking that thing? I guess set it aside somewhere."

Lisa answered swiftly before turning back to her drills. She'd take a few breaths before picking up her knees and running in place. If she couldn't get faster than her brother, then perhaps she should focus on her agility? That'd be something she could excel in and surpass him. If anything, having such important siblings felt suffocating. She wanted to walk with them, not behind them. Maybe this is what made her so insecure and forced her to push herself pass her limits. Failure was not an option. She needed to protect her Mother at any means necessary.

That was great. Maria had hoped she wouldn't earn the girl's displeasure. But she had to admit, this woman was working really hard and she seemed really committed in her own training. In a way Maria could sympathize with her, but they were two completely different people. Nevertheless, an apology was in order. She looked back at her sheepishly.

Being Late [Lisa Lamecia] 4H0IYXq

"Sorry about that. I'll get out of your hair now. Thanks though."

She allowed the woman to continue her own personal training. As Maria looked around, she found a spot where nobody would likely try to find or get their hands on it. On one hand, what the woman said had merit. Who in the world would actually want a coffin? Either way, Maria just wanted it set aside. And after a while, she did. Once that was out of the way, she decided to head into the lockers and get dressed. Upon doing that, she was wearing the school's gym uniform.

Fighting with Ree was great and all. But, it was a temporary clash to test one's capabilities. It didn't make Maria sweaty enough to call it an actual work out. Plus, she had some time to kill, time to move her body a bit. Moving to the side while avoiding the other occupant of the gym, Maria did her common stretches. After doing so, she decided to do a little warming up in the way she usually did.

Her feet were in the air and her hands on the floor into a handstand push up. She was careful to not allow her shirt to slide completely down to show off where it shouldn't display. Slowly, but surely as she was breathing in, the girl slowly bent her elbows to descend down. Then pushed back up with careful balance. Maria would continue to do this while leaving the girl alone for now.

Perhaps after this, she might actually do a few jogs around the gym to get herself feel a little bit relaxed before doing some "shadow-boxing" to remember her fight with Ree. Normally, Maria would be using the exercise equipment back in the Church's basement. But, the whole gym here seemed to be devoid of these materials. So she made do with just this for now.

"..It's alright. As long as you understand, all is forgiven." Lisa responded in her usual tone of voice. She didn't regret what she had said before whatsoever, but she was thankful the other was sorry for the previous action. Though, the royal sibling was interested to some degree. She hadn't thought about this, but she wondered how that woman was able to tote such a large coffin around in the first place. Her round eyes watched her head to the locker room, and she continued her exercise for several more minutes in silence.

By the time Maria returned, Lisa was doing a cooldown and taking gulps from her water bottle. Her round eyes looked over to this gym mate, who seemed to have her own method of exercise. As Lisa had previously figured, she was strong. It looked like lifting that coffin was probably some sort of way of training? Almost like training with weights. The dark haired young woman never had thought of weight training to increase endurance, strength, and speed. That actually would have been a great idea. She looked at the coffin and actually initiated a conversation for once in her life.

"Is that coffin for training?"

Maria was slowly and carefully flexing her arm muscles with each interval of ascent and descent while keeping her legs up in the air. She was starting to feel beads of sweat on her neck and they were slowly tracing themselves downwards through her hair. While counting in her head, she still heard what Lisa had to say as the girl looked back at her.

"Not... exactly," she grunted in each breath, but she did smile wryly back at her, "Thought... you... wouldn't... disturb other... people's... training..."

For someone who wanted to be undisturbed in her own training, she was quick to do so herself. Maria wanted to chuckle in amusement at her for this, but the pressure she was putting on herself didn't allow her this. With her high toughness and high tolerance she probably could keep talking with Lisa. But she stopped and finally pushed herself from the ground with her hands and landed on her feet.

"But that's alright, I don't mind. Thinking of strength training? I would take it easy for your muscles to ease in with the burden and gradually work your way up. It's really easy to hurt yourself," she supplied while taking shallow breaths, "The coffin's a good luck charm, really. It's something I can't afford to part with... or something among those lines."

Maria wasn't exactly keen to explain what was inside the coffin was a Demon Weapon. It was too awkward and would mean too much trouble for her.

Being Late [Lisa Lamecia] DkKQSt8

"I'm Maria Woodsworth. And you? You seem really dedicated in your work. What are you striving for?"

She was getting curious as to what she was training for. Was it for some kind of athletic team?

Lisa grimaced as she had made the same mistake the woman did earlier, and thus she was being a hypocrite. The Lamecia would give a disgruntled frown. "I apologize. Carry on." She turned back to her own devices. That was sloppy of her. What an idiot. She grasped the hairband around her wrist and pulled it back before releasing it. The band would snap her wrist as a sort of punishment for making the mistake.

Lisa rummaged through her bag as the other female spoke to her about weight training. Apparently she didn't mind the interruption, and it most likely bothered Lisa more than the actual "victim" of the interruption. The royal sibling only nodded to the words, but didn't really say any response in terms of the weight training information. She was obviously bothered by the small mistake she had made. Being a perfectionist meant alot to her, and little mistakes like that weighed on her head like blocks of cement. After all, Julius and Serenity would have most likely been more considerate and followed their own example.

"I'm a rude imbecile. That's all..." She mumbled under her breath as she removed a long sheath. Placing it on the floor, she'd grab her hair strap around her wrist and snap it once again against the skin. "Continue your training. I apologize again." What a troublesome child...

Maria furrowed her brows disapprovingly at what Lisa was doing. The nun-in-training said it was alright and the woman already apologized. So why was there a need for punishment over such a light thing? She gently grabbed Lisa's wrist, hopefully stopping her from hurting herself even more. Not that it looked like it hurt her, but she was depreciating herself. Maria was starting to feel bad about it.

"Alright. That's enough," she firmly spoke with her eyes glued on Lisa's, "Everyone makes mistakes, there's nothing you can do about it. It happens. Look. You apologized and I'm alright with it. So there's no need to do that."

She found it very odd that she was so hard on herself. Looking back, Derrick was in some way the same, wasn't he? Always trying to be reliable back in the R&D department, he seemed to be rather reclusive. Maria had wondered how that boy was doing with Sarah and Liz. Her expression grew gentler as she spoke again.

Being Late [Lisa Lamecia] DkKQSt8

"Maybe you would like to train with me? I'd like to know what you do for training."

Maybe they could exchange training ideas, that would be nice for its own sake and for some camaraderie.

When Lisa's wrist was grabbed, she looked to the perpetrator with narrowed eyes. Her cheeks were slightly flushed red, if not from the sudden contact than someone getting in her way. "It's my decision to do this. Don't act concerned like we're friends. We've just met!" She slightly raised her voice before taking note of the sudden change in tone. Noticing this, Lisa looked away and freed herself. "I apologize. Just let me do what I do, okay?" She mumbled as she went back to her bag. The sheath she had removed previously was now being put back, and she seemed to be packing up. Her mood of exercising was seemingly ruined, but the aura she gave off wasn't someone who was particularly mad towards Maria. Training with someone was something she had never tried before. She figured others would just slow her down if it weren't her siblings. This Maria seemed like she had some knowledge in terms of becoming more fit, so there could be something to learn there.

Lisa lowered her head and looked over her shoulder with red cheeks. "My name is Lisa Lamecia. ..If you want to train together we can. But just don't get in my way, okay? And don't concern yourself with my personal dealings."

"Ah. I'm sorry... I was being presumptuous," Maria looked away in embarrassment as she quickly let go of Lisa's wrist. The nun-in-training didn't realize she was being too pushy. Right now, she wanted to hit her head somewhere. But, that was being hypocritical of her.

She could only watch the woman start to pack up after nodding at Lisa's request and apology, she was no doubt embarrassed just as Maria was at what just happened. Admittedly, Maria felt very squeamish as well. She just wanted to run around with all her worth as catharsis of her emotions. The girl couldn't blame Lisa if she didn't want to train with her. But she found herself blinking dumbly at her.

"...eh?" she paused to process the information and then started to crack into a pleased smile, "U-um, yeah! That sounds great! I'll remember that. I'll look forward to training with you! Nice to meet you, Lisa!"

Maria was surprised that the woman was willing to take her up on the offer. It was a pleasant surprise, on top with the fact that she was also going to be training in the Orishiki dojo as well. In the back of her mind, something was bothering her. That last name, could it be? It couldn't, right? "I'll see you later then?"

"Absolutely." Lisa replied when standing with her bag and tossing it over her shoulder. Looking towards the blue haired young woman, the Lamecia would give her a determined gaze. "You can always find me here in the Gym during the Afternoon. Other times of the day, it depends. I look forward to getting stronger with you, Maria. But I won't let you surpass me!" Lisa would jab her thumb into her chest and give the same determined expression. If she couldn't be the strongest out of her classmates, then how could she ever hope to reach the level of her siblings?

Maria has gained a rival out of Lisa Lamecia of the Justice Arcana...

A new path has opened, with new possibilities...

Lisa gave Maria one last glance before making her exit from the Gym. After all, she didn't want to be late tonight for the ritual, and she wanted to make sure she was well rested.

Maria gave a pleased and determined smile, "The feeling's mutual, Lisa. I hope to see you soon."

Maria, in actuality, didn't care who was the best. As long as she was in the Cadets, she was fine with it. She didn't care enough for rank or status or even greatness. The girl had her own reasons. But seeing Lisa like this, she had to admit, she was feeling pumped as well. Maria gave one last wave as the youngest Lamecia sibling left. But as she left, she then remembered about the morning assembly.

She groaned in exasperation. Why couldn't she remember that back then? It's too late at this point. Perhaps, she would just have to find someone who's willing to fill her in. With a sigh, the girl simply continued her exercises before leaving.
