A Visit to the Aquarium [Gionathan]

"...w-what the...", Brittany whispered, staring with confused, startled eyes to the glass separating her from the mischievous white whale on the other side. It seemed to be...smiling at her, or was it her imagination? Her paranoia? Do marine animals even smile? They sort of need lips for that, don't they? That's what she learned at school, though. Her friends were pointing at her and laughing, much to Brittany's own embarrassment. Gladly only two or three girls noticed what happened, but still... Oh Lord, now she was soaked from top to bottom. Her leather shoes were simply wet and, well, it was leather, the water drops would slide from it and make their way to the ground at ease. The same can't be said about the rest of her clothes. The blue suit, the dark pants, her tie...even her short hair was dripping! Gladly the caretakers weren't around, as they led the not-so-little group of orphans through the Aquarium with iron hand. Turns out Brittany was left behind, which was temporarily a bless and a relief for the young girl. Only temporarily. At one point, she'd have to return to her party, and when it happens, what would the caretakers say when they saw her like that...? How was she going back now? It wasn't her fault, but they definitely wouldn't care about her justifications...

"Did you had fun with your friends, Gionatan?It's been a while since you saw Akira."The man asked his son as they made their way through the aquarium"Yes, padre.She didn't change much though."Gionatan replied his father, while he had some fun with the two girls the teen would much rather spend time with his family while he was there. After walking for a while, both father and son saw a girl alone in the distance, she looked lost and was all soaked, some animal probably splashed water on her. The father rubbed his chin as he pondered if she would accept their help, his son in the other hand didn't thought twice, without saying a word to his father he approached Britanny and said"Are you okay?"Gionatan as always, sounded so serene. Since his son already took the initiative, Danilo decided to help too"Good afternoon, young lady.Did something happen to you?"

The only thing stopping Brittany from crying was the fact she was not prone to scandals or making scenes in public. Her classmates and friends were not around anymore, but there were still people passing by. The only providence she could take this moment was to distance herself from the aquarium for a bit, and avoid being targeted by other spitting whale, dolphin or whatever that thing was.

"...huh?". She had called some attention, it seemed... Most people just passed her by, which was a bless. The girl didn't want to attract unnecessary attention, hence why her choice of an attire was pretty much boyish while every other girl wears skirts and shorter suits. It helped her to avoid embarrassment for a while...that is, except when she was in a much larger embarrassing situation herself. Like now. Like just now. "Good afternoon, sir..." How was she to explain she was trolled by a prankster animal?.. She couldn't simply reject their offer of kindness, but if Brittany had the choice, she'd bury her head into the nearest hole and never come back. "It's fine... I wasn't cautious enough, it's my fault. Please, you don't have to worry...okay?" Her answer was polite enough albeit dismissive, because she was taught to not bother richer people with stupid concerns of hers. The caretakers wouldn't like it. Amidst her shyness, she lifted her reddening face a bit, looking at the boy and the man next to him, in silence. Their eyes were similar... as blue as the azure sky. She has never seen such blue eyes before... Were they relatives? Father and son, maybe? But the father seemed so young to have a child. Besides, he was blonde while his son had dark hair... So... Could it be that maybe...only maybe...?

"Unless you tried to take a dip in the aquarium i don't see how this is your fault."It was quite clear this girl was very shy, she wouldn't make eye contact at all."Are you sure you want to do this?She is very shy and it doesn't like she wants our help."Danilo whispered to his son, covering his lips with his left hand to make sure she wouldn't know what he was saying.

GioGio gave a quiet nod as a response, the girl was just being polite when she turned the offer down, or so he thought. The father would fold his arms and would simply watch how his son would handle the situation from now on, he was the one wanted to help in the first place so he should be the one to act. Gionatan then turned his attention back at the girl and said"We insist... You don't have to be afraid, nobody is judging you for the incident."He'd smile at her in an attempt to make the atmosphere more friendly. Regardless of what the girl had to say in response he'd reach for his bag and pull out a small white towel out of it, after closing the bag again he'd extend his hand"Here, take it."

"Nobody is judging you". That's a relief, one thing she was scared the most. The least thing she wanted right now were people pointing at her and mocking her. It didn't seem the case for these two. Which was...a surprise, they were the complete opposite of what she usually thought about outsiders, that is, people not from the orphanage. Then again, it's not like the people from the orphanage are any better...

"...thank you, very much.". The girl smiled a bit and, without much of a choice, picked the towel from the boy's hands. It would not be polite at all to refuse their offer to help. And besides, she was sort of cornered here. If she didn't take it, she'd have to face the wrath of others later... "Hm, sorry to ask, but...are you relatives? Is he your father?" The weirdest question to make to someone you've just met, but no one can tame a child's curiosity.

He was glad to see the girl was more relaxed around them now, he didn't wanted to startle her even more"Huh?Yes, this is my father, Danilo and i'm Gionatan, but you can just call me GioGio... I apologize for not introducing ourselves earlier."He'd scratch his head, a bit embarrassed for his rudeness, at least he thought he was rude.

Now that GioGio mentioned, they didn't got the girls name either"So, what is your name young lady?"Danilo finally spoke again after he had remained in silence for a while.

"Oh? It's alright... I just asked because... no reason.". She shook her head simply, dismissing the needless apology. Though she was the one who probably should apologize for making invasive questions out of curiosity. As the saying goes, "curiosity killed the cat" or something like that, and she was taught to not be inquisitive about other people's affairs. That and it opened a window for presentations, something she hated more than anything. Presentations meant speak a name she disliked and, somehow, she felt about lying to everyone. Lying about herself, specially in light of certain conditions from her meetings that day. It happened to the boy named Frogerio, it's happening now, but she couldn't really help it: both "lying" and feeling guilty afterwards. Therefore, she came with a practical solution. "You can call me Brit." A quick and simple solution. "I got lost from my group to check on the whales for a bit... It's our first field trip, I've never seen one before!"

"I see..."It was pretty obvious the girl asked out of curiosity, pretty harmless, so why was she hiding it?He decided to not press further, the girl would probably grow even quieter."Brit?"That's definitely a nickname, but if that's what she wants to be called, so be it"It's nice to meet you, Brit."He paused for a brief moment before he spoke again"I guess that makes us two, i haven't seen any whales up close until now."

"They are interesting creatures."The father said, just like his son the man spoke in a serene tone and had a calm expression on his face at all times"Are you enjoying your field trip, Brit?"

"They're cute! But we can't feed them... I wish I know what they eat, I could perhaps bring some snacks if they allowed me to, right?" Do they even eat human snacks? She should have paid closer attention to biology classes, they come in handy for situations like these. "Mhm, I guess?", she nodded readily, even though if she were to give it a second thought...perhaps it wasn't that much of fun, truly. Morning time was fine, yes. Lunch time was alright, as for the current afternoon stage of her day... Saving for a naughty whale, it wasn't so bad. "We don't get out that often, we aren't allowed to leave the gates. But this is fun! I didn't know this building, I've never been in a place that big before!" Her answer came out more...cheerful and enthusiastic than she intended it to be, and once she noticed, she felt flustered enough. She was always told to behave, after all. "I-I mean... It's fine so far, y-yes..."

"If i recall correctly, they eat small sea creatures, i wouldn't recommend giving them human food, the Museum's staff could kick you out for that and it wouldn't do much good for the whales."Danilo was no biologists, but the man reads a lot, even about things that are not from his field, like many other people Danilo believes that knowledge is power"...Their trainers feed them periodically, so food isn't a problem for these whales."

Gionatan couldn't help but find funny how the girl changed from excited to reserved so quickly, his expression changed from to calm with subtle grim, the change was hard to tell unless the person was paying attention"You don't have to be so formal around us, just relax."Gionatan felt a bit bad for Brit though, he can't imagine himself being barred from going out.

"So...no snacks?" That was some bucket of cold water dropped right above her head. She didn't know they eat other creatures. In her childlike mindset, every animal eats snacks, that's what she saw in the TV cartoons. And to think she would get expelled from the museum for showing her good intentions would only make her feel worse. "Mmm...Alright. Sorry." Being not so formal around strangers, however, was no easy task. Specially adults. It could probably be easier for her if Danilo wasn't around, but next to someone considerably older she couldn't help but feel a bit recoiled and intimidated. That and Brittany was taught to be formal to any stranger, anyway. She had some questions in mind, like... "What happens if they eat snacks? Do they get stomach ache, diarrhea or something?" Such silly questions, isn't it? But well, she's genuinely curious. Though the ridiculousness of it made her laugh a bit under her breath, until she reminded herself it was about time she should head back to her group. They're already far ahead of her. "...Thanks for the help. And sorry, b-but...I have to go and...bye!" She was starting to blush again, wasn't she? Darn it. Maybe they won't look down on her for her lack of manners, would they? In any case, she rushed in the opposite direction without giving many chances for them to respond and, maybe too late, she noticed...she never returned the boy his towel!

Before he could even reply the girl had already left, in all honesty Danilo was surprised the girl stayed for that long"It seems your new 'friend' forgot to return the towel."Danilo couldn't help but laugh at the situation.

Did they said something that embarrassed the girl?She probably had to go back to her group, or at least he hoped it was that, he didn't wanted to make a bad impression on the girl. He sighed"...Oh well, it's just a towel... Besides, we have to getting going too."At least he tried to do what he thought was right, that should be more than enough.

The father nodded with a smile on his face and said"Of course, we both have a lot to do today."After that the two would resume their walk through the Museum.
