------------ :: Rays in your Eyes :: ------------
The R&D park was the perfect example of serene scenery. It seemed almost untouched, as if humans hardly walked the paths that seemed to glisten under the sun's bright rays. A young, silver haired woman, let out a long exhale while admiring her work. The flowers had been watered, the bushes had been trimmed, and the pathways cleared. This was certainly to be a wonderful opening day to the public for the big reveal that came later. Though, she was quite worried. Would they treat her garden with the respect mother nature deserved? After all her years working there, even during school hours, she had never seen another sole treat her garden aswell as herself. Probably because all the scientists locked themselves away in their labs.
The young woman always wondered why they even hired her to maintain such a beautiful environment when they never left the place to see it. Well, that wasn't her worries anymore. Now the gates were opening to the building, and soon the public would be swarming within. Before the brunt of the force came her way, the young woman gathered her tools and made her way off the scene. Now the area was welcome to all and the last peaceful morning the people would ever know had now begun.
Soon, a very special person would be joining this crowd...

... Five Years Ago ...
Both parents seemed much more anxious to this day than Liam himself, always looking at his behavior and clothes to make sure everything was in place before arriving in the Research and Development building. The boy has been asking about why this event in particular was so important, not that he really cared that much as every time there was no food it was not that fun, because rich people seemed to have really snobbish kids and he didn't like them at all, they didn't like to play that much and were generally a little older than him, just talking about how they have this and that and never letting him play with this things because he was too little. His mother said that every type of person would be around so he would find some kids to play and if he couldn't find any new friends at least they would serve a lot of food, so the child agreed but still asked a lot of questions anyways. He tried to get some answers in the car, but both of his parents just avoided the questions kindly. Were they trying to prepare some kind of surprise?... A anticipated birthday, even? He became all excited thinking about all the possibilities and hopped right out as soon as the car stopped trying to waste no time on finding out what were they plotting. Booth adults stood there observating a little, having a private moment to comment on how their son has grown and what promising future he was designed to have even if he didn't follow his father footsteps and broke the mold like every other O'Neill on the family while hugging each other for a little while.
C'mon Dad, Mommy! You too are so slow!
They looked at the boy bolting directly to the park and giggled together, exchanging a kiss before following him. At that time he was just a little ball of red hair bouncing around in the crowd, but was still easy to identify, even if the Irish traces were not that evident on the tiny frame he had.
Darling, don't go to far! Me and you father will be doing some business things now, be a good boy and stay here for a while, okay? Don't worry mom! An O'Neill always take care of himself! I see you and your Grandma a little to much about family, huh? Now come give your mommy a kiss before going out to play a little more.
He kissed her on the cheek before his father came closer, messing with his hair a little. He was given some instructions, as every time he had to stay alone for some time, and listened to them like it was the 1000 time they have said that already eager to go play and see his surroundings. He finally was set free to explore and started bolting again between all the people until he found a nice spot to sit and see everything his sight could let him of that place. He wanted to have fun, sure, but needed to see if he would find someone interesting to share that fun with. His parents were not that far away as he could sense their eyes on him from time to time as a precaution, but that was not out of the ordinary, they were always like that. They shouldn't care that much, he was safe there and was going to have a blast!
Now... Who will have some fun with me here?

Raidou Kuzunoha Appears
A manhole cover on the ground began to wobble violently for a few seconds before sliding to the side. A gloved hand reached out of the hole and grasped at rim before a head slowly raised out of the hole aswell. It appeared to be a man, and he looked left and right with narrowed eyes as if searching for someone. People walked by and looked at the strange man, but continued onward with better things to do. It wasn't everyday you saw weirdos, but you did see them from now and again. The man seemed to pay them no mind either, as his eyes continued to scan through the crowd.
"I'm not seeing anything, Jack. Are you sure they were to be here today?" He spoke to himself, or so it appeared, as he turned to look towards a young boy who stood out quite easily. That red hair would have anyone spot him from a mile aware around this bland civilians that continued on their way like mindless drones. The gloved man cleared his throat before calling over to his young man.
"Excuse me, young man! May I have a word with you?" Of course he was calling over to Liam, though he did not know his name. He'd have to earnestly hope this boy's parents never taught him about talking to strangers. The Detective wasn't nefarious in the least... Even though he may have looked quite nefarious calling out to a child while being partially in a manhole.

Boring. That was the only word he could think of looking at all those adults passing through there, all looking busy and with other things in their minds, places to go, things to do, and not even one boy of his age to play! What a bad choice of place to be for someone waiting for a surprise... Until a strange noise caught his attention. Suddenly, a head popped out of a hole! The head seemed o look around for something, but how did he did that? That was so cool! Liam lost himself a moment just thinking about the possibilities of traveling through manholes and was getting all excited and agitated again, when the same head he was observing talked to him. This was his chance!
You know, Mommy always told my to not talk to strangers... But, How did you do that? And how can I do that too? And who are you? What do you want with me?
As all kids his age, O'Neill was... quite the inquisitive one. The guy sure caught his attention, and now he would have to answer a lot of things to get something out of him.

Damn. He was being bombarded by questions. Overpowered by them even! Raidou shook back for a second before clearing his throat and raising a single hand. "Excuse me, young lad. I am the Detective, so shouldn't I be asking the questions? How about this. If you answer my questions, I'll let you in on a secret of mine. Every Detective worth their salt has their secrets, so you shouldn't want to miss out on this." The Detective took a deep breath, hoping the kid had calmed down abit. He wasn't the biggest fan of children, considering his own "colleagues" acted like kids from time and again. But he was in a hurry at the moment. If his sources were correct, the two women who tipped the balance of power in Endymion were both here this day.
Raidou removed a notepad from his jacket and began to shuffle through the pages. "Have you seen a young woman with green hair, yellow eyes, and really sharp teeth that can probably eat through iron? ...Iron? Really, Jack?" The man muttered the name as he asked the young boy the question. He continued to shuffle through his notebook, this time landing on another description.
"Or, have you seen a woman with black hair, yellow eyes, and wearing a one piece white outfit? She usually has a solemn expression that can freeze the hearts of anyone like me, hee-hoo.. ?" The Detective blinked a few times at the words, confused at what he said himself. He slowly closed the notepad and tossed it down into the manhole. This was most likely going to get him nowhere with the young man. Perhaps taking a different approach would help?
"Do you believe in ghosts and spirits, little one?"

So he was a Detective, eh? Didn't look like it. But being a detective is kinda fun, solving all those mysteries and finding all that clues...
But mister, if you are a detective, you shouldn't say that you are a detective. You are a very bad detective, Mr. Manhole.
He crossed his arms, slightly annoyed that the guy didn't want to answer any of his questions, he didn't even say his name! Why wouldn't he? It was not anything difficult to answer anyways. The part of the secret picked his interest, though, and he was still with that spark of curiosity in his eyes.
Okay, I'll answer your questions. But that secret better be good, Mr. Manhole!
He smiled a little before sitting on the ground next to the man. He sure was a strange one, as his depictions of people were not very common and he even talked to himself a little bit.
Green haired girl with shark teeth? Black hair lady with icy eyes? Not around here. Nothing of interesting happened around here before you appeared. Why? Are one of them your girlfriend? Are both of them your girlfriends? That's trouble Mister. Just date one girl, okay?
He giggled a little before trying to imagine both girls. The shark teeth lady sure would be scary to meet, and the other seemed to have a power to freeze people? He didn't want that either. Very confusing informations for the mind of a 12 year old to process, one would say.
...Oh, ghosts? Father says that they don't exist and even if they did an O'Neill would never fear them. Why? And show me the secret, already!
So maybe he was not talking with himself when saying that strange things, but a spirit? that made the boy raise a brow, and he looked around both the man and himself to be sure there wasn't anything floating around there.

"This is a conjecture I cannot understand. Being a Detective is no secret, young lad. I'm not a secret agent or anything of the sort. Infact, I am no one of consequence." Raidou lowered his hat abit as he was in some thought. The child had seen either of the women? Were they here? Perhaps they were not in this area and were located in another. That wasn't good. Those with power such as that needed to be investigated. As a Kuzunoha, this was his overall mission. But this question about girlfriends made him almost cough up his lung. A Raidou with a girlfriend was unheard of. They were dedicated to their jobs and no one else. And what did this child know about dating anyway? Wasn't he too young for that? American customs may have been abit different than the customs in Japan, huh?
"Trust me, I have no interest dating either of those women, young lad. If you see them, keep your distance. They're very dangerous, okay? Ghost, Spirits, and Demons are very much real. They come in the form of those two women. Very dangerous and very spooky." Raidou wagged a finger infront of the young boy. Though now he was demanding a the detective tell him a secret? Honestly the Detective was just trying to get the boy to answer the questions. But if he had to tell a secret, I guess he could reveal something about this particular day. So he scratched his head and took a breath.
"Okay, here's a secret. My question about ghost and spirits weren't only about those two women. This big reveal today is actually something incredible. By incredible I mean incredibly dangerous. If it falls into the wrong hands, the stories your Father spoke with will become everyday reality."

But if you are not a secret agent and a detective, what's the fun on being a detective anyways? You just got the boring parts in the end, Mr. Manhole.
He moved his head positively a couple of times, like hes was really knowledgeable about the subject even if in reality he just knew detectives by cartoons or TV shows, after all, he was far too young to even know about Sherlock Holmes and other famous detectives and all of their stories. But his reaction to the commentary about girlfriends and how Raidou reacted to it was just so fun he even forgot about all that Detective thing. He laughed for some time before speaking again, with his ever so lively attitude.
I really think they are your girlfriends now, Mister. You talk about them just like my father's friends talk about their girlfriends! Haha
He bobbled in place, listening to words he spoke before calming down a little bit. He looked lost for a while, thinking about all the stories of beings you cannot see or touch that live around everywhere, and the ones who pull people's feet between above their beds and many, many others before coming back to the man.
So, you are searching your girlfriends so that they don't turn into bad ghosts? Is there even good ghosts? How can this something you talked about not turn out bad?
As always, children are very easily convinced by the most marvelous stories about anything, and of course, that one has just the right amount of supernatural to keep him hooked.

"It takes years to understand the thrills of being a Detective. It takes centuries to explain the thrills of being a Detective aswell!" Raidou raised his voice abit but noticed those walking by were beginning to pay notice to him. If neither of the two females were in this area, then there was no reason for him to remain in the area aswell. Also, to be quite frank, a man in a manhole talking to a child was suspicious enough. The investigation needed to go on before nightfall where it'd most likely be too late.
"Think of them my girlfriends if you'd like. Just remember to stay far away from both of them. They're dangerous!" The Detective began to pull the manhole towards himself. "I'm not sure if there are good ghosts, but there are good demons. I know that for a fact! But it appears our meeting time is over; there's a case to solve. Just heed my words, young lad!" And with those final words, the Detective made his descent back within the manhole and recovered it. He had disappeared the same mysterious way he had appeared. However, what was for certain was his mission. To find these women. What he would do to them once finding them, however; was still unknown.

Hmph, you are just saying you're old, that's all.
The youngster crossed his arms, shaking his head a little. He thought that detectives were only good when being spies too and nothing would dissuade him from that conviction, at least not right at that moment. Liam just focused again on the man when he noticed that he was pulling the lid and going back down. He stoop up, gesticulating for him to don't go just yet.
Hey, wait Mr.! You didn't tell me why your girlfriends are dangerous! Or more about there demons, or even how you did that to get here!!!
And he was gone. O'Neill pouted, ignoring the looks of the strangers who thought we was just screaming at a manhole in the ground, and kept looking at it for a while before slowly going away, back to the bench he was before all that commotion.
I don't even know his name... Now how was he going to explain that to his parents was a total mystery to him. That's was something crazy and even for a kid like him, it was too crazy to tell almost anyone about it without raising any eyebrows. That was so unfair!
