A New Era [Selenus]

Selenus listened intently to the odd woman's description of her lost brotheras his tail swished around on the ground. After she had finished describing him, selenus sat down and split his visor.

"Just a moment..." He requested as he racked around his memory banks.

After a few brief moments of scanning, Selenus's search came up blank.

"I am sorry, Miss Paige. I don't think I have seen your brother inside the premises. It would appear as if you will have to continue searching. However; would it lessen your agoraphobia if I were to accompany you on your search? I have already charted out a mental map of the area."

"No!"

Raising one hand in a weak "stop" gesture, Paige shook her head quickly but stopped almost immediately, as the motion was upsetting her already fuzzy brain. She couldn't have this...creature following her back to the Velvet Room. Who knows what Master would say? Who knows what he'd do? Who knows what her siblings would do? Allowing a construct to see her enter a secret room supposedly hidden from the prying eyes of those unworthy...it would be unheard of. Not to mention most likely get some kind of scolding for it.

"I will be...fine." she stumbled across the sentence, shakily placing her palms against the ground. She should get back to looking for Alexander and insisting he take her home. She attempted to push herself up, but her nerves were still messing with her; no sooner had she sat up on her knees that her legs quivered and she stumbled forwards, landing on her hands and wincing as her compendium tumbled out of her grasp.

"I see..."

Selenus looked at the woman in a mixture of confusion and pity. He should've known dealing with an agoraphobic while outside would be a difficult task. It was actually kind of heart-wrenching to see someone so distressed, yet athe same time trying to maintain a composed and presentable image out of a sheer sense of comfroting duty.

As Paige's book stumbled out of her hands, Selenus considered picking it up using his tail and handing it over to her, but then he considered that this might scare her and dishearten her further.

"If you don't mind my asking, why is it that you are so afraid of the outdoors? You don't have to answer, if it makes you uncomfortable."

The woman leaned back gingerly, sitting on her legs as she raised her palms to her face to inspect the damage done. Mostly there were some superficial scrapes, dots of blood here and there, but otherwise she was unscathed. The fall only worsened her jitters though, and she carefully pressed her palms to her thighs to dab away the blood on her black slacks before running one hand through her hair and gripping onto it almost painfully tight. She takes a deep breath, then another, and one more before she carefully leans over and picks up her book, cradling it close to her chest. She was fine...She was fine...

She's silent for a moment, considering whether or not to say anything--usually she'll only tell guests her reasons, but that's only because that's the only people she ever really sees save her own siblings--before she finally speaks up. "I had an...accident." She glances at the creature for a moment, letting him take in the deep scar that runs from her left temple, across her face, and to the right side of her jaw.

Selenus took a moment to admire her scar (which anyone paying attention to him would only percieve as a fraction of a second.) before hanging his head slightly low.

"I see... I will not ask about that topic further if it discomforts you."

The robotic wolf was at a loss for words. His attempts at interaction had begun horribly, and while they had improved slightly, Ms. Paige was clearly still uncomfrotable around him. Normally, this would only hinder his mood microscopically, but there was something about this woman Selenus could relate to... though he couldn't quite put a finger (Claw? Tail?) on it.

Whatever it was, it made Selenus regret not having been able to properly bond with her.

"I... get the message." Selenus spoke up again, sadness slightly aparent in his tone of voice. "I will leave you be now." He finished as he turned around and began to walk away, his head hanging relatively low. Perhaps telling Newman that he'd tried would suffice.
