| Subject: Fearless [Raina's Calamity Reaction] Tue Feb 23, 2016 6:20 pm | |
| Screams, shouts, painful cries. Raina's ears where filled with these horrible noises. She didn't think as she flew down the flight of stairs within the small doll shop, Clarita looking out the store front's window with wide and fearful eyes. Not even the crooked woman could ever imagine such an event to happen. And yet, she went against her programming to fight and instead hid within the store front.
Raina looked at her employer, confused and speechless. She could only watch as a rather large and frightful demon swooped down in front of their store front, a terrifyingly loud screech emitting from it, the vibrations it released forcing both women to the ground. Raina was scared, but she didn't delve into it like the doll shop owner, instead she stood up and ran towards the door, blinded by her own bravery."What are you doing!? Raina, stop! Going out there will be your death!" The robot said, grabbing the widow's hands and forcing her to look at her. This was madness, and she couldn't allow it to stand. She'd go to speak before noticing the face of pure determination on Raina's face. Her grip loosened, and before she knew it Raina pulled out from under her dress the old journal she always carried.
"I know he died at the hands of a monster like these. I will not allow the same pain I feel to be bestowed upon another mother, another family." she said, turning towards the door and standing in front of it. The fear within her heart made her feel sick, but she couldn't back down now. She had to protect those around her, she had to protect the last few people that were with her now. Clarita, Jack, and even Scruffles.
"Stay safe, Clarita. Help anyone you can! And... Please... Don't leave me, alright?" the widow would say with a smile and a face full of determination, bravery, and fear. Clarita had never felt her heart ache, but now it longed to keep the woman safe. But she knew she couldn't, not with the body she had. She'd nod reassuringly, waving gently as she watched the widow dash out the door and run down the street.
Her mind was racing, racing faster that she ever thought possible. But she felt calm. Through the fear and rashness of her actions, she knew what she needed to do. Flipping open the journal, she found the page detailing the supernatural properties the tower once had. Whether or not this would prove to tie to this event was uncertain, but she knew this was her best chance. Also, Isla was probably there... If anything, keeping her safe would calm the people within this trial.
However, a loud roar boomed from above, causing Raina to duck into an alley way quite hard and slipping into the water that was all over the ground. She gasped, reeling away from it as a pressure formed within her head. She lost her train of thought, a mist forming around her as she dropped the journal and held her head. Was this one of those monster's attacks? Or was this something worst? She couldn't tell, and before she knew it a small and almost frail voice rang within her head."Y-You can't do this alone..." "W-Wha-" the widow stammered out before flinching in pain, falling to the ground herself. Where was the voice coming from, was it a taunt? No, it sounded much too pleasant to be that... It could be trickery though... It was starting to hurt to think..."C-Calm down, miss... You know what I am, r-right? J-Just accept me!" The voice was growing stronger, and before Raina's eye a card depicting the Death Arcana floated in front of her. This was it... Wasn't it? She was destined to take up the same power her son used to protect her. With a shaking hand she'd place it gently under the card, stifling a breath as she went to crush the card."Persona!" The words freed her head of the pressure and the mist around her disappeared. A small doll dressed in a beautiful blue dress and bonnet carrying a bouquet of roses floated in front of her, smiling lovingly at the woman before vanishing. That was her persona, wasn't it? She felt another power within her as she picked up the journal, instantly calling upon it as she ran out of the alley way and into the street. Her soul bound weapon was called to her side, an ornate doll carrying a spear. She was capable of moving it with a mere thought. Such a unique power..."Now it is time to protect those we care for, my dears! Onward to the tower! Let us investigate there post haste!" | |
