The night before had left Hiro with a bad taste in his mouth about what was occurring on the islands. He had done some digging and observing in the shadier parts of town after his meeting with Sharaku on the beach. While he didn’t get the whole story, he learned pretty quickly some of the issues the islands had now that the islands had a Minister to take care of them.
From what Hiro heard and observed during the night there were those that were with the Minster and others who saw her as more of a problem than a good move for the islands. It was the typical bull that came with politics, but one that brought a sense of deja vu to Hiro.
Two years ago the islands ended up divided and panicky thanks to the Event and now here it was happening again. While nothing had occurred that night, Hiro decided to stay on the island crashing at a small inn that was more or less safe despite the problems running amok in the area. He slept lightly and woke slight before sunrise. From here, he would prep himself for another day of exploring.
While he was in the bathroom, he left the door open so he could listen to the old radio in the room not really caring that his companion was female. As he took care of his business, she took care of her own as she used the mirror on the dresser to make sure her looks were perfect.
In silence, the pair would listened to the music that was playing from a time forgotten. The morning was relaxing despite the locale they were in; however, just as Hiro had gotten on his pants and boots, a strange thing would occur. The radio station suddenly shift to static.
“Aww man,” Aria would say as she gave a light pout as she placed the last pin in her hair before stretching out her wings and floating over to the radio with the intention of changing the station; however, before her little hands could touch the knob, a voice would come over the radio waves. The voice was feminine and from the way it spoke, Hiro could only assume it was message from the islands' new leader.
As he heard her words, he would stand and grab his shirt from the chair before slipping it back on and following that his jacket. Just as he finished doing this, he would hear panic from outside his room. Frowning, he would head towards the door and pull it open.
“W-wait a minute!” Aria would call as she clicked off the radio and hurried to follow Hiro. Out in the hall there was utter chaos as the panicked owner of the inn moved down the hall locking off rooms or chasing stragglers back into the inn with a broom. Apparently, he had taken the warning to heart. He wasn’t letting anyone out; however, Hiro was not about to get stuck inside.
Heading in the opposite direction of the inn keeper, he would head towards the back door which thankfully was not locked yet. Exiting out of the door, he would shield his eyes against the glare of the sun as he looked around at...
“What the hell?”
“What is this?”
Aria and Hiro spoke simultaneously as they took in the scene around them. Being at an inn that was quite close to the beach, the first thing that greeted them was the strange glow of the ocean in the distance followed by the strangeness of the sky that had now turned a shade of violet as three distinct stars rested in the air. So he was right after all. Something was about to happen and Fate decided to throw him right in the middle of it all.
Damn…
Hiro would ball fists in agitation at this new found knowledge. It looked like he would have to fight after all. Guess he better see what he could do to protect this island from whatever was going.
