| Raina Lockwood”Death has followed me since my wedding day… I wonder when he’ll finally come for me…”
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Raina Lockwood Aliases: The Widowed Doll Maker Gender: Female Age: 37 Birth Day: December 25th Arcana: Death Evoker: Tarot Card Place of Residence: San Malarus Island School Year: Graduated Class: N/A
After School Club: N/A
Full Time Job: Doll Maker
Appearance: Raina stands at 5’ 6’’ and weighs a startlingly 109 lbs. She has short blonde hair with sparkling blue eyes. Her face is surprisingly youthful for her age, making her seem in her twenties rather than her late thirties. Her youthful appearance goes past just her face as her skin is quite youthful looking as well as the rest of her body having a youthful air about it.
Raina wears a fairly strict collection of dresses and formal wear that she refers to as ‘Alice like.’ These clothing follow a white and blue color scheme and she’s not known to wear much else outside of a black veil from time to time when in mourning of her late husband and son. She’s not known to wear much else outside of this but if needed she can be seen wearing clothes more fit for working outside of doll making.
Personality: Raina comes across as very calm and quiet, almost shy at some points. She’s known to be soft spoken and rarely speaks up within a crowd. She seems to be in a state of constant sorrow even though she isn’t always so. This leads others to pity and worry over her more than she likes and this can lead her to becoming frustrated and often times actually sad.
Raina is known by others to be a foreigner from a small and remote town hidden deep away in Greenland. She came to Azores with her husband and son for an unknown reason. Though, she’s most famously known to be the widow of her semi-abusive husband and the mother of the suicidal albino boy named Nilo, who in turn died mysteriously within Zela Academy. Due to this reputation of death about her, she’s thought to be a bad omen and most ostracize her now because of this. She’s quite lonely because of this, only having the company of a few close friends and her cat, Scruffles.
Outside of this, she’s heard with a very faint Greenlandic accent that hasn’t left her since living there. She’s known by some to be a Romantic, following the ideals common within it and being the inspiration for her son to delve into the writing of the movement.
Aside from this, Raina is undoubtedly haunted by the death of her son and husband. She’s guilt ridden and depressed and this has caused a large void within her heart. Her loneliness follows her wherever she goes and her quietness is out of the pain she carries over the loss of her entire family. It’s also been noted that she’s seen to be smaller than she was a few years back, making some to believe she’s started to starve herself out of her guilt.

The Potential
|
Strengths:
—Strength Name: The Journal —Description: Nilo left behind a journal upon his death, one that is filled with countless theories and remarks on shadows and persona. While the research is young and isn’t that advanced past theories, the journal itself details quite clearly the nature of the basis of the supernatural occurrences that existed within Azores during the Event. With this knowledge, quite literally in hand, Raina herself has been able to elaborate upon her son’s theories and has been researching shadows and the psyche within the years preceding her son’s death. She’s no stranger to the supernatural because of this.
—Strength Name: Psychic Control —Description: Raina's bond with her soul bound allows her to have a psychic control over it. She can psychically control her soul bound expertly within battle as long as she has a clear head to do so.
—Strength Name: Doll Maker —Description: While Raina isn’t a master artesian at doll making in the slightest, her skill is still noticeable in the way she creates and builds her dolls. Her teacher in the craft finds her an amazing student and when the two work together, their dolls are said to be almost too life like.
—Strength Name: Motherly —Description: Even through the pain of loss, Raina hasn’t lost her motherly nature. She cares greatly for those around her and is quite caring towards those younger than she. She’s capable of gaining social links faster than most.
—Strength Name: Speedy Doll Technique —Description: Raina’s soul bound weapon is the doll Harue, a doll she had as a child. The doll itself is controlled by Raina psychically and is quite quick when in battle. Raina is capable of attacking twice with her Soul Bound because of this.
Weaknesses:
—Weakness Name: Token of Dependency —Description: Raina is dependent on her son's journal, so much so she needs it to summon her soul bound in battle. The journal itself isn't part of the soul bound, and as such can't deal damage towards a person's HP (Consider it an aesthetic to the SB itself.). The journal itself is just a normal journal, and as such, can be destroyed.
—Weakness Name: Doll Restriction —Description: Unlike most soul bound weapons, the doll Harue can only be summoned if Raina has her son’s journal in hand. Without it, she can’t summon her soul bound and is restricted to her persona as a cause of this. If someone is able to take the journal away from her with the doll already summoned, it will promptly disappear and can’t be re-summoned unless the journal is within hand once more.
—Weakness Name: Omen of Death —Description: People associate Raina with death and it’s not unheard of to see people avoid her when she’s in public. Because of this, people who don’t know her yet may fear her and may avoid her as a cause. She’s quite lonely because of this and it’s a notable damper on the widow’s mood. NPCs may avoid Raina within a thread and she may have a harder time creating a social link with an NPC.
—Weakness Name: Physically Unhealthy —Description: Raina has recently been starving herself, a habit that is slowly leading to a weaker and notably more frail frame. Due to this, physical hits have more of an impact on her and she isn’t strong enough to do physically challenging acts.
—Weakness Name: Mental Disturbance —Description: Raina has the ability to psychically control her soul bound weapon as long as she has a clear head. That said, whenever inflicted with a mental ailment, Raina is incapable of using her soul bound weapon.
Soul Bound Weapon:
Weapon Name: The Journal and its Doll Weapon Description: The journal of a deceased albino boy and a small doll. The journal itself has a worn, leather cover with a ribbon tied around it. It isn’t used for battle in the slightest, however, the doll can only be summoned if Raina has the journal in hand. The doll itself stands at three feet tall, wears a black dress with an apron and bow, and wields a three foot long lance. The doll can only move within a five feet circumference of Raina and will become inanimate if outside this area. Weapon Image:

The Background
|
History: Raina was born within a small, rural, and very superstitious and religious town tucked deep within Greenland. She was an obedient and good child, doing well in school and being an ideal daughter. She grew up normally and had no issues with her family or any of the town’s people. She was a normal girl who was thought to have a very normal but happy life.
At the young age of nineteen, she married her husband Vladmir and only a year later they had their first and only child, Nilo. However, this child was born with albinism, and too the town, he was a demon that needed to be killed. Raina was fearful for her child, and like a good mother would, she protected and hid herself and her child away. Because of her defiance and rash actions, she was labeled a succubus and a demon that had caught her husband’s heart to breed a demon heir.
With the superstitious accusations laid to the newly formed family, Vladmir took his wife and son to the island nation of Azores in hopes to hide away from their blood thirsty family. However, the couple wasn’t ready for a city life and were thrust into an unfamiliar world. This world confused and enraged Vladmir and led him to verbally berate and hate his son, seeing him as the demon and not his wife. He worked many jobs, and one day after storming out of the house, died at the hands of a small gang that was said to be roaming the streets of Azores at the time.
With the death of the man she loved, Raina became depressed, saddened, and fearful as to what to do with her life and the life of her son’s. She took up many jobs to keep the two afloat and to pay for the treatments required for Nilo’s health. This went on for a while, and in time, Raina learned to cope with the loss of her husband. However, Nilo never did and he slowly let his despair get the better of him as he tried to commit suicide one night.
The attempted suicide failed and led both mother and son down a darkening road. The boy became exceedingly depressed as he struggled through life, his mother introducing him too writing and later Romantic literature to try and bring his moods up. While writing seemed to be a hidden talent of the boy’s, he still struggled with life and making friends, leaving him to be an odd child that was ostracized for his weirdness. Though, one day, he made a friend and a few more friends that led to a change and growth within the boy.
Nilo, though, met an untimely death at the hands of the Event that was happening within Azores at the time, causing Raina to fall into a depression unlike any she had felt before. She was truly and completely alone within the world, and with help from a few close friends, she somehow managed through life. She quit the jobs she had that were meant to support her son, finding them to reminding of the one she lost. She found work within a small doll shop though, working under the estranged, crippled girl that lived within it. The two grew close and under the teaching of the crippled girl, Raina learned how to create dolls.
She lived a normal life throughout the coming years, working in the doll shop, coping with the loss of her family, and slowly falling into a deepening despair. It was safe to say her life would soon be lost to an upcoming death that seemed to follow her. Though, one day, Raina stumbled upon the journal of her son’s. The journal was filled with the research he had done on persona, shadows, and the psyche. Theories upon theories were tucked within its pages, opening the oblivious mother to what had happened to her son.
With this new found knowledge in hand, Raina has begun continuing her son’s research as much as she can on her own, studying the mind and its properties as well as supernatural occurrences around the world that were similar to the Event that happened within Azores. The widow didn’t know what she wanted to accomplish out of this research, but something felt right about it. She felt like it would bring her closer to the son she had lost so unfairly.
Death had followed this woman her entire life, and subconsciously, she had allowed the death of her family to consume everything that she was. She was considered a bad omen because of it, scaring people away from her. However, with a new determination in hand, she may just find a way to change her life for the better. If this will come to be is unknown and only fate can decide what will happen to the widowed woman.

| Alright... Where to begin...?
First and foremost, the Social Link Boosting strength doesn't do anything at all. It has never done anything. That's more a personality trait than an actual strength, if that makes any sense.
The next Issue that comes to me is the two dolls, their connection to the journal, and just... the soulbound in general. Let's start with the book. It's a part of the soulbound weapon itself, as it's clearly tied to the dolls, and thus can still cause damage. The second thing is the dolls themselves. While I have no qualms with attacking twice with dex, having two weapons like those that can act independently of eachother seems a bit much for a basic soulbound. Had the two been different soulbounds altogether, then that would've been fine. I'd just stick to a single doll for now, and add a strength that allows you to control the doll's actions.
The ailment strength won't do much either, since Ailment chances moves in increments of 10% rather than 5%, so a strength like that is moot.
Other than that, the sheet looks good. Once those changes have been made, consider Raina Lockwood approved for Azores Part 2. | |

| Alright, most of this looks fine. If you wish to handicap her with moot strengths, that's fine. But one thing... You need to have your Psychic control of your Soulbound be it's own separate strength. And you'd need a weakness tied to this bond you share with the doll as well... Like for how long you can control it, or have it be tied to your HP somehow. Range doesn't really equate to a weakness, as any weapon does have it's range issues, regardless of what it is. | |

| Just clarify if the journal itself can be destroyed or not. If it can't be destroyed, then it is in my eyes considered a soulbound. Once that's clarified, you're Approved for Azores Pt. 2 | |
