Born with the rare disorder known as albinism, Nilo is naturally pale with red eyes and white hair. He looks young for his age and is physically small as well, adding to his youthful appearance. He always wears something long on his legs and arms, no matter what the weather. Underneath his clothes are countless scars that he gave himself. His hands are thin and wiry like; signs of arthritis visible in them. Besides that he's fairly average in most other parts, a normal face, hair that barely goes past his eyes, and a small mouth. He's 5' 8'' and weighs 104 ibs.

Personality:
Nilo is what one would say an anti social freak of nature. He's quiet and rarely goes out of his way to meet people, generally staying in the back ground and hiding his face. He failed at committing suicide at the age of thirteen, which has led to countless therapy sessions. He hates himself for trying to take his life because he would have left his mother all alone. He loves her and 'punishes' his mistake by cutting himself. His mother knows of what he does and has tried to move his regret and despair into a safer form, literature. Nilo became a natural writer and learned to love to read and write, however, even this would bring pain to him as he developed arthritis at fourteen. He considers himself absolutely worthless but continues on to live for his mom, even though he absolutely believes he's destined to die.

The Background

History:
Nilo lived a normal life with his parents for the majority of his life. His mother was always overbearing and fretted over him because of his albinism but she did it in a way in which he never minded. His father, however, saw him as weak and his mother as wasting her time on a boy that was 'destined for death.' His father eventually became fed up with Nilo and his wife and left them, days later he showed up mugged to death in an alley.

The continuing years became unbearable for Nilo and his mother, the latter never having enough money to properly take care of her son. She took up many jobs to try and keep them afloat and to give Nilo the proper care he needed. Nilo began to feel absolutely useless and depressed, hating how much strain he put on his mother. He began to hear the countless words of his father, "He's destined for death."

After a day of crying and slowly cutting himself he finally lost enough blood to become unconscious. He woke up a few days later in the hospital, his mother crying over him. The doctors subscribed intense therapy and constant supervision for Nilo and his pit of despair grew. He hated himself for trying to kill himself but continued to know as long as he lived he'd bring pain to his mom. These feelings followed him throughout life and despite his mother's efforts to shift his interests into literature, he only continued down his depressed path. He only stays alive for his mom, but what he does can't be considered living.
