**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Calabus is about 5’5” in height and weighs about 135 lbs. Her body is lean and fit like an athletes even though she does not participates in sports. Her usual dresswear varies depending on where she is. In school or on the job, she wears her uniforms with a professionalism unheard of for someone her age making some wonder if she is a perfectionist or not as she seems to have every single detail in order. Her black hair is usually kept in high ponytails and brushed away from her face. When she is not working or at school, she can be found in casual clothing that is easy enough to move or lounge in and her hair is usually pinned up in a bun or bond in a single braid.

Donning her mask, Calabus becomes a sexy green haired singer that is armed with a microphone like staff and has long green hair. She wears a patch over her eye and wears clothing that is quite revealing; however, the thief doesn't mind and can often use her looks to charm or disarm others or demons.

Personality: The first strange thing about this girl is her name, Calabus. Since it is a male name most assume that when she is spoken about, she is indeed a guy. On top of this, the way that some girls seem to blush or giggle about her and some guys beam with respect when they hear her name only further cements this assumption.

However, Calabus is not a guy and the reason girls and guys alike respect and like her is due to her personality. Calabus is respectful and charming to both genders gaining her a lot of love from both parties that find her sweet words and attention towards them wonderful. Her friendly attitude and openness towards them makes it easy for her to be approached and even easier to relax around.

The girls or guys that are blushing when her name is mentioned are the ones she has probably flirted with or hit on. She is bi-sexual meaning she flirts with both guys and girls alike; however, she has never taken anything serious and does it more to see reactions of the receiving parties and simply have fun; however, those she plays with likes the play and doesn’t seem to mind that there is no true attachment there. This does not mean the young woman can’t be in a relationship. It just means she hasn’t found the right one.

This charming personality works in favor for her since she runs a Bath House and Inn that is a favorite spot in Little Toyoko for both humans and demons to reside in. While the humans are unaware of the supernatural beings that are there, Calabus keeps each guest pleased with great customer service and accommodating them no matter how difficult they may be. Due to having a firm foot and fighting skills to back her up, the woman has established that she is the boss when it comes to her turf and the rules that she has are to be obeyed. Usually after a tussle with this petite woman the trouble makers usually submit to her ways or leave. She not necessarily a bully, but she won’t take crap from anyone.

She also won’t hold your hand our bat an eye lash as far as whining and tears go. She has zero tolerance for those not willing to help themselves and her brutal honesty can often times make her seem cold or harsh in some people’s eyes; however, for her she is just being real. Outside of being a great hostess and a generally nice person, Calabus hides a secret from everyone – she is a thief and loves to be mischievous in her spare time. She loves treasures whether it be material or information and loves the challenge of trying to take things away from tricky online systems or secured areas. When she succeeds in collecting material things she doesn’t keep them as simply getting to them is good enough; however, if it is information she holds onto it willing to trade what she knows for new information or a payment.

Known as the Digital Reaper online, the police has been trying to catch over the years; however, through her skills with computers and keeping her second life hidden the girl has yet to be caught.

Enjoying this game of cat and mouse, she continues this game with authorities all the while keeping it hidden under the innocent exterior of a simple inn keeper.

Strength Name: Intelligence
Description: Calabus is smart and loves any challenges that puts her mind to work. Everything from hacking to simply games of strategy she eats up as if the arts are going out of style; however, in turn she can apply those skills on the field allowing her to think carefully before actually perform the action.

Strength Name: Level-Headed
Description: When everyone is in a panic, Calabus remains calm and logical no matter the situation making her a solid pillar to hold onto when all else is lost. Even though she doesn't do it often she can put himself in the leader role if need be.. though she prefers to stay neutral and follow.

Strength Name: Quick Feet
Description: Calabus is light on her feet making her a speedy opponent. This gives her a 15% boost in luck.

Strength Name: Fighter
Description: Calabus has hung around the shadier parts of town long enough to know that fighting is a necessary skill. While she can shoot a gun, she much prefers to use her fists or feet against an enemy. As a result, she is an efficient street brawler that uses what she has to around her to her advantage to win a fight. Take note this also means she does carry a pair of brass knuckles on her which she can and will use in the real world to do damage to foes. She can also carry this item into the supernatural realm with her. Note: Physical vs. Soul: While Calabus has a real weapon on her at all times, it cannot match up to a soul bound or defend against it. Nore can it work against supernatural entities. This weapon is strictly real physical damage and can only be used against people or machines.

Strength Name: Demon Connect
Description: Hatsu is Calabus's shapeshifting demon that typically is out in the open, but hidden in a normal looking form. It typical appears as a black cat with strange colored eyes or as a human (gender depends on its mood) that appears to be about Calabus age when it is out and among people; however when in the Butterfly Inn it may reveal itself, but only if it wants to. It's strong connection with its master allows it to move about on its own and be itself. Even in battle, it is still clear the pair work as one, but are separate beings. They operate within close range of one another in battle, the demon not going more than 40 feet away from its master before returning. Outside of the battle the demon is free to roam where it likes. Its strong connection allows it to know when its master is in danger and in turn it will teleport back to defend her.

Description:

Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)

Weakness Name: Frail
Description: While Calabus is built for speed and fighting, there is a draw back to it all. For starters, she is light weight meaning the bigger the guy the harder she has to work to bring them down. On this note, the big guys can easily toss her around since she is quite easy to pick up due to her small frame. On top of this, while she can within stand a beating she does seem to suffer more than others from the pain. Meaning she is more likely to collapse and become unable to move for a turn than others that are designed to take all the punches. She takes 15% more damage from physical attacks than others.

Weakness Name: Rebellious
Description: Calabus is very stubborn and rebellious making it hard for people to control her or give her commands. She has issues with demands or figures of authority that think just because they have power that they can treat her any sort of way.

Weakness Name: Demon Connect
Description: In order for Calabus's demon to be free and do as it pleases, it takes with a slice of the girl's mental state in order to keep its power stabilized. As a result the girl is unstable and can and will go into a berserk mode where she can no longer tell enemy from ally. Berserk mode vanishes after battles, This is the price of being melded with a demon. Translation: There is a 10% chance she will enter a battle in berserk mode. The randomizer of 10 is tossed at the beginning of battle along side the one that determines her Arcana boost.

Weakness Name: Cheshire Cat
Description: When handing out information or even just speaking in general this woman has a way of never really denying or confirming anything making it hard to figure out if the information given is bull or truth. As a result of this, many can become quite frustrated with her love for games; however, the more angry you become the more cryptic she becomes.

Weakness Name: Treasure
Description: Calabus loves her treasure and as a result is often the one to dig into places she shouldn't just to get what she wants and also to get a high off the challenge.

Description:

Demon Weapon: ((This is the both a Weapon and a Demon. You have a parasitic relationship with this Demon, and as such you will always want it near you as it is the source of your power. Unlike Soulbound Weapons, this Demon Weapon cannot be summoned and will always remain active, meaning you'll have to keep it on you at all times.))

Weapon Name: Gemini Sphinx
Weapon Description: When faced with the supernatural and not in battle, Gemini sheds away its fake forms and let's its real self be revealed. Gemini is a genderless demon appearing either as male or female in battle. Traits that stay the same are its ash colored skin, its strange colored eyes (one blue and the other deep red), its tattered wings, fox like ears and tail, its twin set of horns, its oddly decorated claws, and its dark colored hair. It also seems to stay at the height of 5'8". All other traits change depending on the creature's mood at the time. When the creature goes into battle mode it floats and gains a six foot long triton. The three pronged weapon is unwieldy in the untrained's hands, but Gemini wields it with efficiency and grace as it moves about the field using both pole skills and unarmed combat to its advantage. While Gemini does the physical work, it leaves its magical ability with Calabus who uses them to back up her demon in battle. Yes they are separated, but still share the same stat pool due to binding.

When battle is over Gemini loses the staff and goes back to simply floating and following. The creature can and will interact with others. It is interesting to note that sometimes in order to go forward with an SL one has to deal with Calabus's demon.
Weapon Description: Gemini Sphinx is a demon that stands a 5'8" weighing about 150 lbs. Its frame is fit and lightly toned making for a nice body to stare at if you want. Its skin is an ashy grey and its eyes are mismatched one being a soothing blue and the other being a deep angry red. Upon its head it has a head full of black hair that varies in length and looks when it shifts genders. It has a pair of fox like ears that stick up from the sea of black and twin sets of small golden horns that grow slightly from its head giving it a crowned look. Its claws are always painted in strange ways and its fangy grin is enough to charm or scare depending on the thing that views it. The creature bears torn black wings on its back that reveals bone and decay. It makes people wonder how the creature can fly, but somehow it manage to float with these broken looking wing. To finish, the look is a fox tail that swishes here and there as the creature observe the world.
Weapon Attack Type: Pierce
Weapon Element: (Leave this blank. Only special weapons obtain an element behind its blows.)

Side-Arm Name: Bethany
Side-Arm Description: A gun that is about 4 feet in length and made of strange material that is as white as bone, but far stronger than that. The barrel is white and its handle black laced with red roses upon it. Along the top of the barrel is a mermaid made out of the same white material that the gun is made out of. She acts as a sight to aim, but is also a piece of decoration Calabus enjoys looking at. The name Bethany was given to the mermaid on the gun and so became the name of the gun.

Side-Arm Style: Shotgun - Scatter Shot - Accuracy is decreased by 30%. Consumes 3 types of ammo at once to fire -must be same type of ammo. Can shoot all enemies with one attack.





The Background
   


History:
Calabus was not born. She was created as a part of Arch Labs weapon experiments. Arch Lab were creating weapons by combining humans with dark matter or other creatures to form superhuman weapons that they wanted to sale to the various governments to create war and in turn money for themselves. While most experiments were disasters, the group was determined to carry out their plan and so moved to new experiments to find better success.

The group finally struck gold when they took unfertilized eggs and through science fertilized and infused them with the essence of a demon known as Arc. The process was slow, but the demon spirit was able to mesh and fuse with the eggs and soon began growing and changing into a form. The form was that of a female child that was simple labeled as Experiment X. Experiment X was handed over to Dr. Lee. The man was to take care of and nourish the child while observing and documenting the progress of the child.  In order to do this, the doctor was sent away with the child to a remote location.

In this environment removed from labs, Dr. Lee did indeed take care of the child and watch her grow. As the child grew, didn’t display any powers outside of a great curiosity for the world and a hint of mischief here and there. For the first five years of her life the doctor simply let her live a free life hoping she would yield results; however, the more time the doctor spent with her the more he fell in love with the child. In the end when she was 10 and still did not show any signs of being a weapon, the doctor decided to go against his employers. Instead of turning her over to his superiors for disposal, he took the girl to Endyimon where he handed her over to his relatives who knew nothing of his dark secrets. He gave the girl the name Calabus to hide her true identity from any hunters and then without so much as a good bye, he left leaving the girl to grow up in the city as free individual rather than a lab rat.

When Dr. Lee left, he went back to his base and set it  aflame with himself inside. In this fashion, he hoped to destroy all evidence of his work with Calabus in an an attempt to keep Arch Labs from ever finding out about her…or from the girl coming back to find out what she really was.

While it did sadden Calabus to see her loving father leave, she eventually adapted to her life in the city, getting along very well with her foster parents as she learned the ways of the Bath House/Inn they owned. While she was trained to be a business woman, she discovered at the age of 13 that this sort of life was just not enough for her. Having a love for mischief and the need to be challenged, Calabus started to challenge herself with her own forms of games. At first it started small - a pick pocket here or a hack of a small website there, but slowly these games grew into a passion. She liked the idea of taking something and not getting caught. While she did always return stolen items with the cover that she just found it on the ground or floor, one thing she loved and horded was information. She loved the knowledge and the power of holding it. As she continued to gather information and grow, she discovered her ability to see demons and also through her business she learned that people and even demons would trade valuable things and their own knowledge to get what she knew.

Loving the process, she continued to be a thief keeping a low profile to keep her foster parents out of trouble and also dodge the police both in the physical world and the online one. As for the bath house/inn, without her foster parents realizing it, she began to let demons stay in the inn. She never understood why, but she felt comfortable with the beings and so thought it wise to let them in.  Being entities that only she could see (thanks to her being fused with a demon), it was easy to incorporate the new clientele into the inn and even make special rooms for their VIP visitors. The introduction of demons increased the money that came into the house as demons typically brought in humans they were attached to in as new customers or left their own forms of payment that could easily be exchanged for cash.

The business grew and so did the girl. When she turned 18, her foster parents headed off to open a different bath house in another country leaving the girl in charge of the one in Endyimon. For three years now she has kept the business running and her second life hidden. However, as time ticks on she has begun to feel that something big is about to happen in her life that will change it forever.

Yokay, just a few minor details. The place of residence, where in Endymion is it located? Knowing that would be better for people than just saying who's mansion it is.

Also in Personality, the latter two paragraps start with the name Alexander. I assume that is a typo? Just a heads up if that's so.

For your strengths, keep in mind that since the Combat one encompasses a range of things such as unarmed combat, nature towards it etc., someone who specializes in one exact thing alone in a Strength will be somewhat stronger in it than you are.

Your soulbound. As a Forgotten, the Shadow weapon is naturally always visible. You write the chain is up to 20 feet, and since you don't have a strength that allows it to change size for convenience, it would stay at that. Make sure he has a way to keep it on him at all times properly, maybe say where he keeps it (whether it is where people can see it or not), if you're fine with that, since 20 feet of chain can be a lot to carry around 24/7 without looking rather odd.

This is what happens when you are half sleep. At least it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be which makes me happy. One step closer to not breaking so much....or have I spoken too soon. In any case, done with the edits. What do you think?

Alright. Most of this is good. Just the Strengths/weaknesses.

You seem to have 2 straight out combat strengths - double dex, and 15% Luck, but I only see extra 15% phys damage as a combat weakness that has direct effectivness in some form. Not only that, but carrying around a real weapon counts as a combat plus as well. You'll need to balance these. By the way, it's not like your soulbound weapon is unusable in the real world and whatnot, so it's kind of strange to make that kind of distinction. And one can bring a real weapon into a supernatural fight if they want to.

That aside, I see you're making your weapon change appearance and state quite a bit. You can't really do that without a Strength for it, as a Forgotten's Shadow/Demon is meant to be always summoned and intact in normal cases.

Mmm. I think I fixed it all. As for the weapon distinction, I suppose that was a bit of confusion on my part as I was under the assumption real world weapons couldn’t come into the supernatural world and thus for the strength their had to be a distinct separation.
In any case, what do you think?

Well, it's up to you how you use your weapon. I'm just saying that there doesn't really need to be a restriction. Unless the DM actually states you can't bring real objects into a supernatural place, which has never been the case. It would be a little foolish anyway, since even clothes are real things lol Why would weapons become an exception to the rule? But you can still make it happen your way if you really want to. It just seems like a useless rule to me, personally.

Anyhow, both the Fighter and the Shapeshift strength can still give you an edge in a fight. So perhaps make at least one of the weaknesses have some sort of drawback for her in a battle that is obvious enough from the wording. Since I see you didn't change anything about them. Doesn't need to be a stat decrease. Just something that could come to hinder her. Since not only stat boosts/decreases count as combat related things, and weapons and weapon manipulation are quite distinct enough as strengths.

Mmm. Maybe, but that was just what I was told some time back. Anywho. I am leaving it as is now.

As for the other half, I am not sure if I corrected the balance issue or not, but see what you think.

What I meant is a battle affecting weakness on top of that +15% damage you had before. Not replacing it. Since you do need one that affects the stats directly to counter your Luck boost. Rather than that, you should make one other have some in fight hindrance to balance having a high versatility with your demon and carrying a real weapon on you.
