| The moon was certainly bright in the middle of the night. It was surely more pleasing to watch than the sun, which only served well to burn your eyesight and blind you temporarily for looking at it. If only other things were as shiny and bright as this...
It was over now, wasn't it? Yet, it wasn't necessarily a happy ending. Not for most of the people that were involved in this mess of a game. They had to give up a lot just to get things back to the way they used to be, but what exactly did they gain? That was probably an question there wasn't a clear answer for.
For a while, Sharaku wondered how the rest was taking this in as he looked up at the moon in thought. That was something he would most likely not find out for a good while. He wouldn't be the one to chase down others just to get their opinion on something. Afterall, he had always been a loner, despite the fact that he would work with others when it was needed. And that never really changed even after all that. Maybe things have changed to a certain extent, but he still couldn't say most people he had met here understood him well. In the end, did it really matter?
''We'll never be the same as them.''
''I understand that.''
And perhaps it was for the best. Even though he would be the one to pay for that most of the time, regardless of whether other people realized it or not. But for as long as everyone else was happy enough with their lives, he would take it. In a way, he was always the one to work mostly from the shadows, rather than anything else. Leave the big spotlight to those that actually crave the attention. He never cared about being well known afterall. Half-assed connections with a lot of people were just empty. He has learned as much long ago.
He would chuckle faintly as he turned away from the shiny ball in the sky, moving to walk away from the park he was standing in. It was time to lay back for a good while, until things were over. What would happen then? That was still a mystery for now....''Sometimes I wonder what is the meaning of living...'' ~The End~ | |
