An Assistant's Job

It seemed getting into the rift was the easy part for them. After the stubbornness they had to endure at the gate, Laura wasn't exactly surprised, and really, couldn't help but sigh as she turned around. Since she had clearance to go in, might as well try and investigate the inside of the area... hell, she even had the medical tools to treat herself with should anything happen, so it shouldn't be a problem.

"Alright then... let's go." From the location of the rift, the greenette moved towards what she assumed to be a blockaded part of the island. She hadn't paid much attention to anything since leaving the train, but did start from it before actually moving, so as to have a clear shot of where to go to begin. Nonchalantly, though, she picked up her cell phone, trying to get a reading for signal here. She wasn't expecting much, but keeping in contact with Crym throughout this could be pretty damn beneficial in the long run.

Regardless of that, though, Laura would simply move forward from the station until stopped by something, anything, if she even could move, though if any guards were in her point of view that seemed to be guarding an entrance to the inside of the island, she'd move towards them instead.

She had a signal on her phone, and almost immediately after passing the areas that she would split from Rita and Sharaku, she saw a blockade put up that lead deeper around the remaining forest area that was not burned. Many guards were in the way, keeping watch while presumably others roamed the area trying to round up everything or perhaps investigate, and there didn't seem to be any way to simply walk around it, as it stretched around the afflicted area.
