| “I don’t believe this,” Sky complained as she reclined behind the counter with a paper fan in her hand. She was waving the fan rapidly to try and keep herself cool in the humid and stuffy place that was the antique shop. Not too far away, Oki stood next to the counter breathing a bit heavily as it wore a pair pants, boots, its jacket tied around its waist, and a soaked white sleeveless shirt that clung to its thin frame like a second skin. Unlike its sibling who had been sitting inside complaining about the current situation, Oki had been trying to do something to fix said problem. And what problem was there you ask?
“How could the generator go out like this? Just when we need the frickin’ electricity it quits. Why?!” Sky was moaning as she leaned back in her chair and looked up at the ceiling with a pout. Honestly, the complaining was getting on Oki’s last nerves. Having woken up to it earlier and having heard the complaints not cease for over three hours, Oki had every right to tell his sibling off. Still annoyed or not, Oki managed to use its energy on standing rather than getting too angry with Sky. In response to her complaining, Oki simply shook its head as it took the bottle of water off the counter and reached for its hat.
“I would give up too if I had to deal with this unpredictable weather. First snow and then unexpected heat waves. It is amazing, the thing survived this long,” Oki told her as it headed towards the door.
“I suppose,” Sky grumbled and then leaning forward asked. “Hey where you going in this heat?”
Oki paused a few pace from the door as it placed on its hat.
“To find something to fix the problem, so we won’t burn or freeze later in the day,” Oki said as Sky’s jaw dropped in shock.
“They still make pieces for that generator?” she asked in disbelief.
“No, but I can make what I find work and if not I will buy a new unit and install it,” Oki said with a smile and then opening the door, it stepped into the inferno that was outside and began its hunt through Old Town. It checked all the shops and even had to pause to get two more bottles of water as the first one ran out really quickly. While Oki worked a little on the bottle number two and saved number 3 for later, Oki stayed in the shade of the baker's shop as it thought to itself where it could possibly look next for pieces for the generator. It honestly didn’t want to replace it, but as it glanced around the familiar area eliminating where it could not look, replacing the generator seemed like exactly where this was going.
Old Town's shops didn’t have the pieces needed anymore and the old scrap yard was hot metal and too dangerous to pick through even for Oki, so that left only one other place to go for a solution: New Town….and that place definitely didn’t have anything to save the old generator.
Sighing lightly in disappointment, Oki closed up the bottle it had and stuck it in the other pocket of its jacket that it wore around its waist. Oki fixed its hat upon its head before stepping back out in the heat and making its way towards New Town.

| While a city such as San Malarus was due to spawning some things to turn around for there was one person in particular that made people turn around as he skimmed through the masses, wearing a doctor's cloak of all things in this heat. He didn't seem bothered by the heat for now as he just went on ahead, humming a tone for himself as he did.
In fact he didn't have an actual reason to be out and about like this, he had just figured he'd get out and get familiar with the new area so that he could get around better should he ever need to. While he was at it there was of course also the chance of him finding something worthwhile. He went on with great enthusiasm as his eyes widened a little whenever he saw something. The heat eventually took on him like it had done so many others and he was pressed to get something cool, eventually settling on a cold soda which he quickly gulped down. "Oh, that's better...." He seemed very content in the shade of a parking sign as he took a moment to collect his thoughts.
He'd been at it for a while now and he doubted there was that much else to see, and the heat surely wasn't making things better. "Maybe I should get back..." After contemplating the thought he turned heel and turned to New Town, hoping to make it back to the appartment before dinner. | |

| Oki kept moving draining, its water supply slowly as it kept up its pace and avoided people like they were the plague. It wasn’t that it was trying to be rude or anything. It just didn’t want added heat around it. No not when it was already feeling like an inferno under the heat wave that had decided to roll in. Most people were trying to pack into stores and shops with drinks, but it was only a matter of time before heated tempers snapped and fights broke out.
That was the downside of Old Town, smallness and the tendency for people to pack into one or two places when it got too hot or cold. It was ridiculous really, but that was just the Old Towners’ ways. As Oki moved passed familiar store fronts and gave light waves to those it made eye contact with, it would eventually leave the older section of town, moving along hot pavement as it continued on its way to its destination in New Town. As it walked, the crowds of people thickened despite the heat. Hardy teens unafraid of sunburn and heat stroke were starting to mill out into the streets as they decided to spend their free time in the various shops, food locales, and theaters in the newer part of the shopping district. People gave Oki some looks and some of the “upper class” girls started laughing at its worker look along with some guys they were hanging with; however, some gang members from Old Town must’ve lingered nearby for they quickly shut down the laugh fest and chased the annoyances away. It wasn’t to protect Oki’s feeling that they did this…no…no…it was to protect the ignorant from a very dangerous tongue that Oki had when highly peeved…and with this heat its patience with most things was limited. It was just trying to get to the store and back, so it could finally relax in the cool air for the rest of the day. A simple task that everyone seemed to want to bar it from.
Dodging around people as it headed to the super store that sat in the center of the place, Oki’s passed a strange fellow wearing a doctor’s coat in the heat. Instinctively, green eyes narrowed and slid over to observe the other as the being paused in its walking. It didn’t take well to lab coats and it wasn’t exactly the freest of problems….even if it had managed to hide from its past for a very long time. It didn’t want the past to come biting it now, and thankfully the small alarm was false.
The lab coat wearer was just a normal looking person that happened to be wearing said coat, glasses, and had short hair. Maybe the other was a student or something in the medical field or maybe he liked to simply dress in that rather…unpleasant dresswear.
Despite all this, Oki kept its feelings sealed in as its eyes unnarrowed slightly and it managed to give the other a small smile.
“Sorry for staring. I thought you were someone else,” the being said with a light bow before it turned to continued its trek to the super store.
