Let's talk(Charles)

"I am not worried about Nilo. Or either one of us." Charles replied. While others may have interpreted Blaez's response as semi-insulting as he blatantly said that he wasn't really interested, Charles was more than content with it. It was more convenient not to be forced into explaining things. Blaez surely lived up to his name of a cashier at an 'convenience' store, even though the store itself failed to fulfil that part.

He turned to the minibar on the floor. He hadn't opened it since he put the groceries inside. Hopefully, they haven't gone bad during that period. "I do not have any information on Kazuya, unfortunately." He answered the other part of Blaez's initial question.

"I understand..."At least he tried to gather more information"I think that's it for today Charles,i will be going now,it was nice talking to you. "Blaez would turn his back and leave the apartment if Charles didn't had anything to say.

"It would be for the best." Charles watched as Blaez exited the apartment. The time for the mission was fast approaching, so there was no time to waste.

Something furry scathed off his leg as he stood there. It was Gao and she seemed worried. Maybe she had some sort of a hunch that something was about to happen. Charles had read about how animals have a better affinity with their '6th sense' than humans, so perhaps she really did feel something was wrong. In any case, he crouched over and patted her head. "I will require you to guard the house while I am gone. Will you be able to fulfill that request?" Gao simply pouted and ran off back to her pillow. She wasn't really content with that plan, but she was well aware arguing wouldn't get her anywhere. "I see." Charles added, walking over to a pack of Gao food and opening it. "You will be able to eat if you grow hungry." He said as he poured the small grains of the food onto her bowl. He left more than usually, just in case, and left the pack opened on the floor on one of its sides so that Gao would be able to eat directly from it. "Goodbye." He said after around 10 minutes of standing like that with an aloof look on his face, leaving the apartment himself and leaving Gao on her own. She was still pouting at that point. Anyhow, something was boggling his mind. Something he couldn't explain or comprehend... A sensation he was sure he had felt before... A sensation of emptiness... as if he had forgotten something important and it pained him...

That sketch of the night sky he had shared with the girl laid beneath Gao's bowl... forgotten...
