| Ariston didn't need to treat him something but perhaps he was trying to be friendly for a change. Shunnosuke wouldn't turn down the offer, that'd be pretty impolite of him. — Hm...I may be up for some petit gateau. — A simple desert, right? Only to not make the teacher's kindness go to waste. The waiter wrote his order down and left the table, so Shun could turn to the teacher with a grateful smile. He saw that as a gesture that perhaps Ariston appreciated his presence, a proof the teenager was for sure on the right track. — You didn't have to, but I appreciate it, Mr. Ariston. Thank you. — There was something on his mind, related to what they were talking previously. It's not like he didn't see where the man came from with that logical reasoning, but he had only experienced the bad side of being under the spotlight. Maybe the man was talking by experience...maybe not. It raised a few questions in the teen's mind, though. — Hm...has your life changed after...everything? — The way Ariston spoke about it made it seems like being under fire changed significantly his views on certain subjects. Although the teenager lacked the assurance to introduce that topic, he saw no better opportunity to ask about it than now. | |

| "It's no trouble. I get paid well enough." He shook his hand lightly in a gesture. When he asked about how his life had changed, he pursed his lips. Well, it had not changed drastically, but for a while it had gotten...well, tense. "It has not been that different, though naturally I do come under fire from time to time from random people. At least the Academy staff for the most part still treats me well, and if anything my students are even more afraid of me. I can use that to my advantage," he said, not laughing this time at his humorous banter. Did he mean what he said? Well, he did not quite know himself. He took another bite, since the subject was now on the table before lowering his voice so only the two could hear. "I assume life as supernatural investigator is changing everything for you though?" He didn't look to Shunnosuke to gauge a reaction, and in fact, he said it like it was no big deal. Rather, he continued to eat contently, before the waiter soon came back with his dessert. | |

| Shunnosuke giggled a bit. He couldn't really imagine Ariston making use of the bad fame of his brother to put his students in line. "Behave or I'll call my brother to kidnap you at night"? It's a rather silly thought and therefore the student didn't take it seriously. On the other hand, the following comment almost made him choke and spit his water.
— ...? — Did he hear it correctly? If Ariston haven't busied himself with his meal, he'd have caught Shunnosuke's blatantly shocked expression. The waiter gently placed his dish in front of him and, since he got no response from the static teenager, save for a cornered and silent glance, he left. — ...I beg your pardon, what do you mean by "supernatural investigator"? — Once he recuperated, he sat his glass back to the table. He couldn't have meant what Shunnosuke thought he meant...right? As for his dessert, it remained untouched for the time being. It wasn't as if it would run, anyway. | |

| Ariston smiled a bit larger, and emphasis on the phrase "a bit". He shook his head when he had denied any idea of it, keeping quiet. "No big deal. I imagine you want to keep it under wraps, however Lewis and I don't exactly keep secrets from one another. I was just curious. You'll hear no more from me on it." He continued to eat, not exactly choosing to linger on the subject for the sake of his privacy. "In any event, what CAN you do outside of school aside from going out to eat with your "friends?" It was now his turn to ask several questions at once. Maybe Shunnosuke knew what to say, maybe he was just trying to play at something; either way Ariston didn't care but didn't mind his presence. | |

| Shunnosuke kept his glare over Ariston's face. Of course Lewis had to open his mouth. And there Shunnosuke thought the man would stay quiet due to some sense of shame after his bad deeds...such naivety. Now thanks to that, Shunnosuke was feeling pretty...uneasy in that meeting. On his behalf, the atmosphere has gotten pretty heavy. He had a bite on his petit gateau, the hot chocolate ball, one, while still pondering what would be the best answer. He wasn't oblivious to what Ariston probably meant by his emphasis on the word "can", however. — Nothing I couldn't already do prior to you know what. — He finally answered after swallowing his dessert. There was no point in being secretive anymore. — I'm not too involved as you may think. And if it weren't for an unfortunate coincidence, I wouldn't be, truly... I did visit your bother after, for I was worried about his state. I knew deep inside he wasn't a bad man, and when we spoke, I confirmed I was right. — The teen firstly referred to Hyde being arrested, that's when everything started but Ariston wouldn't know that. As he justified himself, he cleaned his lips kindly with a napkin before taking a brief sip of his water. There was something off about Lewis's story that Shunnosuke remembered just now and since the subject is on the table already... — I assume you didn't know Rinna was being stalked, otherwise you'd do something to prevent your former student to fall victim of a trap, wouldn't you? | |

| Ariston shook his head. "I do not care about it. But I figured it would be obvious to you that I visited him. I thought it would have been humorous." His sense of humor was certainly twisted... When he brought up Rinna, Ariston grew a grimaced face. "Of course I did not know. She also didn't tell me. That is irrelevant right now, for she is okay I trust." He began to eat silently until he finished his meal, and take a sip from his drink, intent on not saying any more on it. "My brother definitely is...pushed over the edge sometimes. Maybe he'll get out for good behavior," he said before the waiter returned with the check. Ariston raised an eyebrow as he left. "Normally you have to ask for the check. Do they want us to leave so much?" he asked curiously. | |

| ..."humorous". Right. The young boy blinked a few times, sceptical about what triggered the urge for bringing that distorted sense of comedy on the older's behalf. The teenager wonder if he should force a laughter to not let the atmosphere gets heavier than they could carry or just stay dead silent; he didn't buy completely Ariston's explanation about his "humor" or even when his allegation of innocence in Rinna's case. Since his talk to Lewis, the student had this strange feeling about Ariston due to certain things his brother said and his concerns had little to nothing to do with Rinna's well-being, but the man's involvement instead. As if he smelled a rat. In spite of that, the student decided to give the man the benefit of the doubt. After the waiter's arrival and departure, he just nodded to Ariston: — It's odd, yes. But since we're the customers here, we shall only leave when we're done, or unless the house is full and they feel the need for us to unlock our table so they can welcome the new guests. It doesn't seem to be the case tonight. — He took a few more bites of his dessert, leaving it almost to its end before turning back to the teacher. — Hmm...I hope your brother has the good end on this. It may be sudden to you for me to say it, but I'm sure he's a good man. And though we're not quite acquaintances to each other...if there's anything I can do to help you, then just let me know. — Shunnosuke commented shortly after, when the moment seemed opportune. He didn't quite aimed to extend the touchy subject but express his sympathy nonetheless, for he truly believed Lewis was a good-willed man. No one who beats the stuff out of someone as despicable as Rinna could be a bad person. That, and Shunnosuke wanted to impress Ariston with his atypical benevolent demeanor. | |

| He nodded. With another sip of his drink, he put down the glass, it now empty and placed the payment and tip on the table. "Alright then. I suppose that is it. I trust you know where you live?" he asked. If the answer was yes, he would wait until the waiter took the bill and brought back change before he stood up slowly. "It was a pleasure. Definitely unlike before. You're more strong-willed than I expected. Well then, good day. If you need me, you know where to find me." After that, he nodded with a small satisfied smile that if nothing else, looked genuine. He would turn away and make his way out of the restaurant assuming Shunnosuke did not try to stop him. It was certainly worth coming out here for some casual talking. | |

| — Of course. Don't worry, I'll be fine making my way back. — Giving the last bite to his dessert, he cleaned his mouth with a napkin. Though the “unlike before” part stung him the wrong way, he couldn't help but smile softly, with satisfaction. Strong-willed? That has such a nice ring to it. The man was finally appreciating his presence, huh? Nice start for an occasion which was merely a luck matter of being in the right place at the right time. — Well now, the pleasure is all mine. — Shunnosuke remained sit, wearing his most affable and confident smile. As the teacher's silhouette got farther and farther, he checked his wrist clock. Perhaps it was time for him to head home, it was getting late...
Exit.~
