Doggy Blues... (Kazuya)

Normally... it's cats... about 999 times out of 1000 it's cats.... But some how... some way...this time it was a dog. Jack was slightly stunned when he noticed it.

Rewinding a bit, Jack had been busy in San Malarus handing out fliers to potential rangers, just like any day he had off, and just like any other day he failed to entice even one person to the life of justice and duty. He was beginning to think that no one wanted to fight the good fight now a days. Today it was all... OH! Let the police handle it! OH! It's illegal to want to defend your city! Stupid anti-vigilantly laws... Regardless as Jack was packing his things he heard a familiar cry for help...

"Help! Some one help! Mittens is stuck in a tree!"

This... Was what Jack lived for. Without a second thought he sprang into action, tarring off his street cloths and revealing the Sentai Jumpsuit underneath," GO GO! Zele Force!" Jack pulled his helmet from the ether and slipped it on before beginning his heroic chant.

"Defending the world from the shadows that plague it at every turn! We heroes fight for the souls within!"



"With the strength of a Chariot! Neo Featherman Ranger Red!"

With his mantra chanted, Jack rushed to the call of duty... Which is where we find him now... And as stated before.... Mittens was... not what Jack was expecting... How a full grown golden retriever got stuck up in a tree... Jack would never know. What he did know... Was that he needed help...

Ranger Red was in trouble... If only someone were to come to his aid...

I was heading for the Museum when a voice distracted me."Help! Some one help! Mittens is stuck in a tree!" a old woman's voice shouted out of the nowhere. It seems some cats is stuck on the tree. Hmm... It won't hurt helping so I approached the old woman. "Is there a problem, ma'am?" I asked the old woman. "Oh please help me, Mittens is stuck on the tree" the old woman answered pointing up to the tree and I followed her hands with my sight. What I saw was different from any classic superhero series, on classical hero series it is common to save a cat from a tree but this time, it seems that I am saving a dos, a full grown Golden Retriever, I wonder how that dog got in the tree but whatever, somebody needs help so I will be helping her.

Due to my martial arts expertise and my experience living on the forest, I successfully managed to climb the tree without any mistakes but now my problem is how I will get this dog down the tree especially full grown one. I tried to touch the dog but... "GRRRRR....." the dog growled at me. "It is ok boy, I am here to save you" I said to the and I tried to touch the dog again but this time, he tried to bite me but it was a relief that my hand dodged the bite. Hmmm... maybe some food will do, I think I have some leftover crackers in my pocket. It might work. I took my cracker on my pocket, there is only one left in the pack and one is what I need. I fed him the crackers and after the time, he ate the cracker, he seems to like it. I tried to touch him and he lets me to pat his head, that should be the signal, it is time to bring this dog down.

I picked up the dog and just dropped myself off with the dog just like a cat. I landed on the ground safely then gave the dog to the old woman. "Oh thank you, child. I think I should give you this" the old woman thanked me and handed me a dollar but I refused. "Oh you don't have to ma'am, I think you should keep this dollar for yourself ma'am. I think you need it more than I do". The old woman pinched my cheeks and said "Aww.. you're such a sweetheart! I hope I have a grandson like you. Oh well, I should be going now! bye! Thanks again!" the old woman left.

Jack heard the foot steps approach from behind. He turned and saw the young boy with blue hair comeing up. Normally Jack wouldn't pay this very much mind, after all he had a dog to save, but something... something about this boy stirred something in Jack... A certain determination... yes that was it! That was it exactly! Determination! A fire burned in this young man! Jack saw it almost instantly. Thinking fast Jack hid behind the tree itself and waited for the young boy to approach. With baited breath he watched the young man's exchange with the older woman and his subsequent rescue of the dog from the tree. So noble... So kind! So full of Justice! Jack could see it! Yes Jack could see it all! This young man... no... This young hero had all the makings of a great Ranger! Jack had to act fast. Quickly he pulled his street cloths back on and slipped off his helmet. He waited for the young man to be finished with the older woman. Once he was Jack stepped from his hiding spot and began to clap.

"Bravo! Bravo! What an upstanding young man you are. Not everyone would have done that you know," Jack held his hand out to the young man and smiled," My name is Jack... Jack Rannells. And I'm looking for talented young people such as yourself for a... special reason, would you mind hearing me out? But before that... You seemed quite agile, where did you learn to climb a tree like that?"

I was about to go when I heard a clap. I turned to where the clap came from and it was a young man, he praised me for my heroic actions. He held his hand out and made an introductions. The young man is named Jack Ranells and he is searching for talented young people. Oh so he is like one of those talent searchers. Hmm, I might wanna hear his request. So I shaked his hand and introduced myself as well. "I am Kazuya Fujiwara. Nice to meet you, Jack." and he asked where did I learn to climb a tree. "Oh where did I learn to climb a tree? Umm.. well, I used to live in a forest when I was a child. You know, my parents died when I was a baby and I got adopted by my uncle who lives in the forest. He taught me there , in the forest, of course, how to use an old martial art style, the Kali and at the same time, he taught how to climb trees. That's why I knew how to climb trees" I answered. "So now that question is cleared, what is that request?"

Wait.... This guy grew up in the forest? That.... Is so cool! So he's like some sort of wild child. On top of that he's a martial artist... Double cool! If this guy also had a sense of justice and courage, as he already demonstrated, he would make a perfect ranger! Jack smiled warmly to the Kazuya and leans his back against the tree.," It's a pleasure to meet you Kazuya, and yes we will get to the request but first I need to ask you a few questions, just to gauge whether or not you are right for this team... After seeing what you did here today I'm sure you'll pass with flying colors but I just want to be sure. After all there are very few spots available, I can't just give them away," Jack ignored the little voice in his head that reminded him that he had just tried giving them away to random pedestrians...

"First let me tell you about myself, it's only fair. I am,once again, Jack Rannells, a second year at Zele Academy. I work part time at the Galaxy Theme Park, but any time I have left I devote to this team I am forming. Besides myself there is one other current member," Jack's smiling face turned sharp and determined," Now... Just a few questions, one... Do you feel the burning passion of justice in your heart!?" Jack pushed off from the tree and struck a heroic pose pointing directly at Kazuya,"Kazyua Fujiwara!"

Hmm... Jack is a fellow student in Zela Academy and he works part-time in Galaxy Theme Park as what? The time he asked me that if I have a passion for justice and undressed his clothes revealing a red jumpsuit under it. It kinda reminds me of Power Rangers. I see, he is a theater actor! Am I getting on a small theater show? I'm not really good at acting but it is still cool to be a part of a small theater act. Also, this seems to be a good part-time job so yeah! This is my chance! So without further ado, I answered Jack's question. "I don't have strong sense of passion for justice but as long as someone needs my help, I will be there. I will do everything just to make a person happy because a person's smile could also make me smile. So it simply means that I help people not just for their own happiness but it also for my happiness. I don't know why but helping people just simply makes me happy".

Helping people makes him happy?... Hmmm Not quite a burning soul filled with the fiery passions of justice and righteousness made a blaze by the injustices in this world, stoked with the white hot hopes and dreams of every man, woman and child that made these islands home. A burning soul that warms those around them merely by standing tall and utter a proclamation of heroism! A proclamation that shouts,"NO! I refuse to allow the crimes of the world to go unpunished, I refuse to allow those who live under the boot of tyranny to reside there for a mere moment longer! I am a hero that fights for the soul within! I am a Featherman Ranger!"

But likeing to help people would work to....

"Like to help people... I like that! You seem like a very honest and just young man... Question two!...What is your favorite color? You see there is a type of uniform for the work that we do and well.. they're kinda color coded. We just need to be sure you're color isn't already taken. Ya see I took red, and Nilo already has black so... Those are out of the question. Almost any other are acceptable."

I kept my focus on Jack and now he is asking me what is my favorite color? Well, it's the color blue because it's the color of the sky and also, blue symbolizes courage and loyalty. It is also my hair color and my uncle said that the color blue looks good on me. "My favorite color is blue because it is the color of the sky. Not just that, blue also symbolizes courage and loyalty. My uncle also said that the color blue looks good on me so I think that's why I really like blue" Wait did he just mentioned Nilo? That is pretty strange since Nilo is a quiet one but I didn't expect that he will join this. I am happy for him that at the same time, he is making friends.

"Well I must say sense I met Nilo I have never met anyone more qualified to be a Featherman Ranger then yourself! You have that sense of bravery and determination that is needed on the field of battle more then anything. Now I know this is sudden and all but I would be honored if you gave us some thought," Jack reached behind the tree and grabbed one of his last fliers and handed it to Kazuya with a warm smile,"You see, we are the Neo Featherman Rangers! We defend the world from all sorts of evil galactic emperors... Ancient demons... Witches... That sort of stuff! Now granted we've never actually fought anything like that but trust me, it's coming... How do I know this? Why because I'm the red ranger of course! Behold!"  Jack jumped to the side slightly and tore off his street cloths once again... how he keeps getting more tare away pants... no one will ever know... Now in his ranger outfit again, he drew his helmet from the ether and donned it beginning his mantra.

"With the strength of a Chariot! Neo Featherman Ranger! RED!" Jack held his pose for a moment, waiting for Kazuya to respond.

I listened to every line he said. It's kinda same to those Power Ranger series. So it is just like he is replacing a word in those lines but still, it is cool. I took the fliers that Jack was giving and I gave it a long think. I closed my eyes so I can focus on thinking, I opened my eyes again to see Jack was posing like one of the Rangers in the series that I just mentioned. It will be a long silence for a while because I was thinking but after minutes of thinking, I have made my decision. "The lines were very cheesy. Sorry no offense but still you have a good intonation and the way you pronounced every word are just hero-like,even your accent. It just like you're a real hero from the comics and in the TV. So... ok! I will be your Blue Ranger!" He would join the act and made a pose just like what Jack did. "Blue Ranger! at your service!"

Jack was heartbroken once again... he supposed he shouldn't have gotten his hopes up about this random guy on the street becoming a ranger. That stuff just didn't ha-.... wait what did he say?... Did he just agree to be the blue ranger?... Jack stood stunned for a second as passers by looked at him as if he had lost his ever loving mind, and to be honest he thought he had as well... Slowly he dropped his pose and removed his helmet. In spite of his disbelief he couldn't help but smile... without wasting a moment Jack ran up to and wrapped Kazyua in a tight bone crushing manly hero hug as tears began to stream down his face.

"Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!" Jack dropped Kazyua and began to run around the tree with his fists in the air shouting for joy,"I've got three rangers! I'm an official Sentai leader now!"

Jack came to a skidding stop in front of Kazuya and eyed him carefully,"Hmmmm Give me some time to make you're ranger costume... And I'll need your measurements. Don't worry! We'll get you fighting for justice in no time!"

I was surprised by that "manly" hero hug. It gave me a little pain but hey, Jack is happy. So I think that makes me happy too. Now officially, there are three of us and I think that will be Jack,Nilo,and me. I let Jack measured my body for my costume. As it all got cleared, I was smiling which is pretty rare because most of the time you can see me emotionless but hey, i'm human and i am capable of emotions."Ok now that's all cleared, Thank you Jack for that request! I'll be looking forward to be a ranger. So call me when you are finished with my costume. Oh well, I think it's getting pretty late so I guess I should go now. Bye! See you next time!" I said farewell to Jack with a bow and walked away to the scene while waving at Jack.

Jack carefully took Kazuya's measurements so he could sent them to his costume guy. With a blue ranger that brought the grand total number of rangers to three... Oh man this was exciting! Now that he had the minimum number, surely things would start to happen. Jack nodded as Kazuya walked away after entering his number into Jack's phone. He would call Kazuya once his costume was finished to introduce him to Nilo and the base. Hopefully this meant that his team of rangers would be able to start helping out more then just getting dogs out of trees... Oh well.. Only time will tell.

Jack collected his fliers and exited the scene.
