Mai's base form looks rather similar to her regular form, excluding the golden eyes that accompanies being a Shadow. She stands at the height of 5'8 and wears a white and blue gown that has been blessed by her parents back at home. Like many other Tsurinai, her hair is silver, though if this is her natural hair color or a dyed is unknown to most. Her overall demeanor when she was alive was that of happiness, though even though she smiled, those who were observant could tell this smile was not true. Just like that of a Persona, her smile was used to mask her inner doubts about herself, and her abilities when being involved in such a strong family line. Someone like her, who gave such a caring personality, hurting so much on the inside would be surprising to most.

Mai, before she succumbed to her Shadow, appeared to be a very timid young woman. Though not timid in the sense that she could not speak, more so she chose to use very few words and let her aura do the speaking for her. Thus, when one would see her, they'd be reminded of something like a doll. Her pale skin, white hair, and bright eyes made it seem like she was almost surreal. Something that could have been created instead of born like all other humans. Her beauty took her a long way, but she never relied on it to become successful in her family. Her Shadow, however, uses her beauty as a weapon towards most. The doll like figure she was known for was turned into that of a seductive witch with golden eyes that marked her prey.

When Mai transforms into her true self, her appearance does not change much. However, she does appear to be some sort of angel, as she sprouts white wings and dawns what appears to be some sort of heavenly armor. When she focuses, a Golden Gate forms behind her that shines bright. This doorway represents the Gates of Ishtar. When Mai is using her support skills, the doorway opens and allows her to monitor her comrades and enemies. Through the Gates of Ishtar, she can provide support for her team. She can summon the gates anywhere, as long as she is conscious.

Sakura was tailored made for her role in the Tsurinai Family. The moment she was born, she knew what her role would be and how she would assist her family. Because of this, she has only experienced life as a structure, and not as spontaneous as others who had to choose their own path. Even so, she is not against her family's wishes. Sakura was proud to be of some use to her family, but in doing this she had willingly put herself in a position to where she needed to be the best amongst her peers. One would think she'd form some sort of superiority complex, but the fact is, she formed some sort of insecurity. Being around some of the talented members of her family, she began to compare her own strengths to theirs and began to see her weaknesses and faults in her every day life. This insecurity remained hidden, but those closest to her could tell she had depths to her complex that even she could not control. Regardless of this complex, she is still a woman of title and will show respect to others. She is aloof, but also commandeering when needing to be. Though she may be ignorant of social customs below her, she is not against learning more about herself and others. Coming from a family such as her own, she still wishes to learn about others, even if they were born in lower class families. As such, Mai is considerate and open to listen to anyone who comes to her for comfort. This serene attitude makes it so she wouldn't wish to harm a fly, looking for ways to avoid conflict instead of charging right in. However, even with this kindness, she has been able to step up to the plate when people need her too. After all, it does come with the family name to be able to take control of situations where others would shiver at the responsibility. To top it all off, she believes in a world that has a strong balance. She understands that there will always be bad in the world, but she wishes to counter this with an equal amount of good. From this, there will be true balance and happiness. Those that shake this balance in the world seem to get on her bad side, as it is her life mission to keep things in check when it comes to how the world ends up in the end.

Contrasting to Mai's elegant yet insecure demeanor, Shadow Mai seems to be more honest to her emotions. She no longer cares for appearances and will openly voice her opinion. Loving freedom instead of duty, Shadow Mai couldn't care less about her duties as a Tsurinai. Balance is just another word for her, and instead she enjoys tipping the scales every now and again. Her over all purpose as a Shadow is to live free instead of being shackled by the useless bonds of family.  She is very out going like her original self, but enjoys the more seedy underbelly of society than the norms. As such, she can be seen anywhere similar to a red light district, enjoying herself in more ways than one. Also, seeing how her family's status no longer holds any weight in her life, Mai will associate with those who even clash with her family's morals and ambitions. The once beautiful woman becomes more like a succubus as she lives her life freely. For once she doesn't seem like a large weight is on her shoulder, and the constant complex and depression vanishes in the short moments of freedom.

—[b]Description:[/b] Maya has the unique skill of combining various wares (does not work on equip items) to double their effects and give a plus 20%. For example, two 50 HP health items could be combined into one 120 HP health item. She uses this skill mostly to create sacred sutras to bless homes, but has also been able to combine various items for every day use. To create these items she must write 600 words preparing them. (600 words for each item)

—[b]Description:[/b] Being a member of the Tsurinai, Mai is accustomed to the supernatural, and has always been surrounded by the supernatural, thanks to her family. She grew up in a shrine owned by the Tsurinai Clan, and took the title of Priestess when she was twenty years old. Whenever a supernatural event is occurring around her, she gets an inkling of a feeling for it. Though she may not know the origin of it specifically, if she is in the area, she will surely know of something going on that is out of the norm.

—[b]Description:[/b] Mai is a great cook, and that is an understatement. From baking, to putting together a meal from scratch, she is amazingly talented. Her food gives a bonus 30 SP to those who eat it. She can only carry two helpings on her per topic, and to create these helpings she must type 600 words each.

—[b]Description:[/b] As a child, Mai was trained in Archery to hone her senses and concentration. Her family knew one day the main branch of the Tsurinai Clan would be coming to claim her as one of their own, so she needed to have some sort of skill to protect herself if things got rough. Seeing how she was weaker when it came to frontal assault, she opted out to become an archer to protect herself from afar.

—[b]Description:[/b] In her true form, Mai has wings that enable flight. She can only reach the average speeds of 30mph in the air, and she can not fly high long, as the air thins and she'd need to breathe.

—[b]Description:[/b] Even though Mai has an aura of someone who is uncompromising, yet sweet; those with keen eyes can tell her smile is completely fake. Beneath her soft exterior, the young priestess is rather depressed and insecure of her own abilities. Being born into a family that demands so much from you, she grew up with an inferiority complex when compared to the other Tsurinai of her branch.

—[b]Description:[/b] Mai's Persona is used only for support, and not for attacking or anything of the like. This of course makes her vulnerable when dealing with others, as she can only defend with her Persona and cannot attack.

—[b]Description:[/b] Mai is not a full frontal fighter. She never was the type to throw a punch, not saying she cannot. However, it'd be easy to deal with her if she were to try to fight someone or attack someone physically with her body.

—[b]Description:[/b] There is a burden being a member of a powerful family. Ever since she was a child, Sakura did not have a choice with how she wished to live her life. Because of her bloodline, she had a duty before she was ever born. This stressful life of hers slowly turned her insecurity into a mild form of depression. However, she knew her duty was important, so she constantly masks this feeling of depression behind a plethora of pills and medication.

—[b]Description:[/b] Unlike traditional Shadows that have completely wiped out their other self, Mai's Shadow and her original self, seem to have a conflict within each other. At the beginning of every topic, a randomnizer will be used to determine if the Shadow will be in control of Mai, or her original self. This can also affect her social links, and how she bonds with others, to a certain degree.

[b]History:[/b]

Mai was born into a family of three, having an older sibling, mother, and father. Her family ties were powerful, as her mother's brother was currently the head of the Tsurinai Family, making others expect much from Mai even before she was born. To say her birth into the family was joyous was an understatement. As her older sibling seemed to be very lackluster in capabilities, the responsibility of her branch of the family was to be thrown upon her. Even as she grew older, she never really had much happiness. Childhood dreams became lost to her, and as she grew older her birthdays went from being an occasion she looked forward to, into occasions where she'd be utterly upset. After all, the older she became, the more in-debt to her 'duty' she'd need to be.

When Mai turned 18, she had become a professional at her trade. Being one who cleansed impurities, she worked as a priestess under her family's name. The Tsurinai had the duty of keeping the world in check, and this included things that didn't belong in this world aswell. Creatures such as demons and shadows fell into this category. Unlike the main branch of the family who dealt with the business side of the Tsurinai, her family was more focused on controlling the supernatural side. After all, the myth of demons had come from somewhere, and it was their job to crack the code into harnessing and dispersing the powers of these creatures. She had never gone on a solo mission before in her youth, but when she reached her current age, she was finally deemed worthy enough to investigate a region that was drawing the Tsurinai's attention.

She came to Azores by her family's boat and took residence in a home owned by the main branch. Mai has not begun her mission as of yet, but she is becoming accustomed to the area so the mission goes smoothly. </table>
