Sun Bathing (Open)

Naomi would walk around the shore of the beach, her shoes not on her feet. The warm sand baked her soles, forcing her to bury her toes under the grains in order to find shade from the heat. In a past life, she would never have dared step foot on Lunapa, since she felt cut off from the world by coming here, but this wasn’t the same her from back then. Now, she was equipped with something to always be online if she needed it (though she didn’t bring it today), and a desire to relax in the outside world for once. Although, the sun was making her rather sleepy and she felt like taking a nap to get back her energy. Her beach towel was lying down not too far away from where she was, but far enough from the edge of the water that it wouldn’t get wet. She wished that she had brought one of those large beach umbrellas, but it seemed like it would be a hassle to carry on the subway. So she was stuck out here with just a towel, wearing a thin jacket to cover the rest of her skin that would have been exposed because of her two-piece. She would flop down on the towel, letting out a sigh as the force from the fall hit her. She couldn’t remember the last time she actually went to a beach. She could swear she was still a middle schooler when that happened. It was strange to be back after so long. She laid her arm across her face to block out the sun and closed her eyes. This was supposed to be relaxing, and she was going to enjoy every moment of it.

"You know sun bathing is just a way so the sun can feed off your flesh right?"Hiro said

Naomi’s eyes would stay closed, even as the voice spoke, “The sun is more that 90 billion miles away from Earth, lacks a mouth, and is a giant ball of fire. In short, it would turn me into a crispy critter before it ever got the chance to eat me.” Normally, she would have been nicer, but she was trying to relax, not have an insane conversation, “Besides, I’m not sun bathing. I’m trying to sleep.” She tugged at the jacket that was covering most of her body, “I’m also wearing enough sunscreen to keep a piece of leather pale.” In other words she was caked in the stuff. Thank goodness it had dried a while ago, or she’d be covered in sand by now, “You a native or something, here to warn me about falling asleep under the sun?” It wouldn’t be the first time something like that happened, “Thankfully, I don’t burn easy in the first place.” Thank her darker skin for that. For some reason, it took her much longer to cook because of it.

((OoC: Just a tip, write more than a sentence. When you write so little, you don’t give your partner much to work off of. I don’t know where you are in relation to me, if you said that line seriously or as a joke, or anything about your character if I just looked. It’s hard to respond to something when I only have a sentence to work with.))

"92,960,000 miles to be exact and its not eating you with a mouth its eating you with its gamma rays"Hiro pulled out his bag to show his evidence of the case, the shows the following pictures: 

1-A picture of a dog eating a chicken leg 
2-A picture of a paint drying 
3-A crudely drawn picture of corn popping, And finally 
4-this hermit crab. 

"Don't you see the connections its so obvious!"... Hiro pulls out a mini board with pictures and news papers pined to it with string connecting and intercepting each other,"SEE! SEE! look its easy the corn dog stand and the that ice cream truck have the same route so i'm able to determine that they meet up at the Donut shop and see each other.... Pens" 

She would finally open her eyes so she could stare at the man that was speaking to her. Oh great. It was a kid and he had already gone completely insane. She would raise her hand to stop him before he said anything else, “Those pictures are completely unrelated and they happen every day. Dogs are descendants of wolves, so they like meat and the bones are good for their teeth. The paint means that someone probably just painted their kitchen. That one just means someone can’t draw to save their life, and the last one is just another animal. They’re unrelated, unless the same person took all of them.” She couldn’t stand to see someone making such absurd connections, “There is such a thing as coincidence. That’s probably all this is. Or maybe they are going there for a lunch break. Maybe that is just the route where more people are willing to by their product. There could be many reasons.”

He turned away from the girl looking out to the sea"Coincidence is just a word for people shrug off the
sinister and just classify it as a coincidence" He pointed at a the pictures again "You see the reason i mention the photos is that they all have something in common, 


some say well nothing its just picture you took while creeping on people, but wrong you see the Ice cream truck and corn dog stand are rival companies so why would they sell the goods? Well i'll tell you why have you heard of the "Freezito" its a new ice cream they're selling that is a chicken and Crab Popsicle that is a light blue, the very same color of the paint you see the ice cream company is in a slum lately and food coloring does cost alot when y-" Hiro see a corn dog stand and dashes towards the stand jumping the man working at the stand the man falls over while Hiro stands above him "Oh god please don't hurt me" the  man says scared and confused "Where is the Bio-Fungus" "Don't know what your talking about".           

She was not in the mood to be having this conversation. She came here to relax, not deal with this kid’s insanity, “Listen, coincidence is a nice word. It’s a word that is very useful so that we can explain things that are unrelated. Say I lose a dollar one day, and the next day my friend finds a dollar. Does that mean it’s the same dollar? No. It just means he found a dollar and I lost one.” She hoped he could see what a coincidence was. Before she could even get an answer out of him, he ran off to attack a corn-dog vendor. She would have been glad to get rid of his craziness, but now the poor vendor was in danger. With a sigh, she would stand up and head back to the water’s edge. She put her hands together to form a bowl and scooped up some of the ocean water. She held her hands together to keep the water from dripping out as she proceeded to go up to the boy and drop the salt water directly onto his head. Perhaps that would cool him off.

Naomi would hold up her hand to turn down the corn dog, “No thank you. That would be stealing.” She would not steal from a man that was likely just traumatized. She was more worried about if this guy was safe to be around, “I’m not afraid of the sun. I wish it would go down, but I’m not afraid of it.” She would go back to her towel and lie down on her stomach so she could go back to resting, “Well, ‘hero’ I hope you learned that there are certain things you should leave alone. Like innocent corn dog vendors, for example.” Her emphasis on his name was very clearly a way to mock his name versus the way he was behaving. No hero would go out of his way to scare innocent people, or leave his sanity behind to rot in the small hole it was obviously buried in, “Either way, I’m Naomi. Please, stop acting crazy and calm down. You don’t need to scare more people.” When had Lunapa completely lost its mind?

She would turn down the offer of corn dogs yet again, “You need to pay for them now, or it may as well be stealing. We have laws for a reason.” She started drawing circles in the sand in front of her, “I get that you may find them difficult to listen to, but you need to. So that the world we live in can be upheld, we need to follow these rules, even if we don’t like all of them.” That was almost hypocritical of her, considering she broke the law all the time. Well, it wasn’t really breaking the law, but she exploited loopholes all the time to do what she did. She would continue to draw shapes in the sand as she spoke, “Also, you won’t get anywhere if you keep attacking people like that when you meet. Most people don’t appreciate the sentiment. Well, maybe certain parts of the internet, but not in real life. Do you understand?” She was trying to be nice. The guy just had to understand that people didn’t care for the conspiracy theories.

Knowing that if he tried to argue with her it would be a waste of a corn dog if it went cool in his hand, so he suck up his pride and- 

-*Sigh*"Fine i'll pay for the corn dog" Hiro pulled 192 yen and placed it under the I.O.U "There okay i payed for it so do you want it now" 
Hiro holds out the corn dog once more.

Naomi would give a small laugh before taking the corn dog she was being handed, “I have to give you this: you are quite determined.” She wasn’t one to turn down a generous offer, as long as it wasn’t obtained by shady means. With a smile, she would bite into the corn dog, “You know, I haven’t had one of these in a while. I usually go out to eat, so stuff like this is off the menu. Thank you.” He may have been insane, but at least he was kind. She couldn’t complain about that, “So, are you a native of Lunapa, or are you from one of the other islands?” She still hadn’t gotten that answer during this conversation.

Hiro ponder the question since he had never really known where he was from his family moved around alot so as far all he knows maybe he is native at birth "Uhh i don't know" Hiro shrugs it off.


*Buzz* Hiro's pulled out his phone and checked the notification "Oh i gotta go i got a lead, but hey here this is my phone number" Hiro showed his phone number "To stay in touch, also if you see something weird i might have a answer well bye" He took off in a hurry waving as he left.
