Impromptu Adventure [Safi] - Page 2 Empty

''True, you never know what happens until you do it.'' Sharaku would respond to Julian's 'why not' with a low chuckle. Sure, visiting some ruins would probably not fall into the category of taking a risk and such, but it worked on the same basic principle. You only see when you look. Well, sometimes you don't even have to literally look, but that was a completely different set of cases. Point is, unless you don't have a reason to forego something, then you might as well do it.

Though, Julian's following question made him pause in his thoughts a bit. True, doing new things was...good, but he wouldn't deny that the first word that came to mind for him when he heard ruins was 'boring'. Which, for all intents and purposes, was not classified as a good starting point. ''Ahem, maybe. I can't say. I've never really seen any to even compare. Or, at the very least, I do not remember doing so.'', he'd answer, frowning a little to himself. He did not remember, but...you never know. There were several things he actually made a point of trying to not remember, and well, he could be missing stuff here and there. Though, he was fairly sure he had never seen ruins so far. That wasn't something he'd forget easy, right? ''What do you think?'', he would ask afterwards, turning in around, considering how he didn't have a definte answer. Let's try it this way.

"Really?" He wasn't surprised by the new information so much as the odd coincidence that neither of them had ever actually been to a place like the one they were currently heading to. Really, what were the chances? ...Well, fifty-fifty, he supposed, but it still seemed a little uncanny.

...That was actually a fair question. What did he think this trip was going to be like? "Eh..." Tilting his head to the side for a moment in thought, he considered his answer before shrugging lightly. "I don't really know. For all the hype and the tourists, it has to be sort of interesting, though, right?" He'd seen enough raving reviews online about this island to know that the general consensus was that the trip was worth it. To what extent, he wasn't sure. Well, now was probably the best time to figure that out for himself. "Unless, of course, the people in the brochure lied." The teen mused aloud. He flashed Sharaku a grin as he said, "Nah, couldn't be. After all, businesses are always honest, right?" Of course there was absolutely no sarcasm in his voice. At all. Because he was being 100% completely honest--

...pfffft. Julian managed to keep his grin up for perhaps a second or two before he shook his head and laughed softly. Yeah, no. Can't believe everything you read, after all, and businesses ever more so.

At the surprised remark, Sharaku would only proceed to give Julian a short glance, not really bothering with commenting. Not that there was anything to say, as he wasn't sure as to what was the younger man refering to in the first place. He didn't think he had just said something worth questioning. Hmm, he probably shoud just not ponder over it and leave that little thing be. If Julian wanted to he could always expand on the 'really' later. That sounded fair enough.

He would huff slightly when hearing Julian's answer to his question. Hype. Hm, perhaps. But, didn't people hype over everything new they came across? In that sense, they would go check out a place just to see if it did live up to their excited expectations, meaning there would always be several tourists around. That, however, didn't straight out tell whether it was actually worth a serious interest. ''Depends on whether the hype is actually justified.'', he would retort lightly, before giving Julian an amused glance as he heard the young man's next words. ''I completely agree with you...if you scratch out the 'always' and put something akin to 'never' in its place, that is.'', he would comment, resisting the urge to stick his tongue at the other, but it was still obvious that he was rather amused by the idea. ''But, please, people will always lie as long as it helps their own cause out. It's always risky to believe something until you see a proof with your own eyes.'', he would chuckle lightly, as he made his conclusion.

Well, you can believe, but you should at the very least expect to be dissapointed in return. That was how he'd put it. It was a natural response to tweak the truth when you knew saying it as it is would not provide you anything more than a trouble. Honesty was a fickle thing. ''On the other hand, if it ends up being boring, at least we get some excerse and fresh air from this trip.'', he would declare, in an attempt to keep a more cheerful attitude. Eh, who liked talking about lies. Besides, he was right...no? Even if that wasn't the intended outcome, it would be better than nothing.

Impromptu Adventure [Safi] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Impromptu Adventure [Safi]   Impromptu Adventure [Safi] - Page 2 EmptyMon Nov 24, 2014 2:50 am

It was good to see that little quip broke the ice in this conversation. Not that the talk had been stiff before, but it was always good to see the person he was talking to relax and crack a smile. That usually meant he was on the right track here. Nodding his head in agreement with Sharaku's words, Julian smiled slightly, adding, "Mm-hmm. Can't be to gullible, right?" before he dropped the topic for now. No need on dragging out a joke and making it go stale, right?

"Yeah, there's that at least." There was the silver lining. Those usually weren't too hard for the teen to find, really. Nice to see someone else being optimistic for a change, though. His usual company--besides himself, that is--tended to be a bit more...well, more of a Debbie Downer than anything. This change in attitude was very refreshing, actually. "This place is definitely cleaner than Penecia or even the train station. Makes for a nice change." Julian glanced around for a moment, taking a moment to take a slightly deeper inhale. The air was cleaner than most of the other places in Azores. That wasn't really that hard he supposed, though; after all, pollution and all sorts of odd crap are practically synonymous with the word "city". Being more of a tourist-y place with a high amount of human traffic just made all that increase. He usually preferred places a little more livelier, but Julian couldn't deny there were some good bits to the less populated islands.

''....Hm.'' Sharaku would simply give a slight thoughtful sound at Julian's statement about being gullible. It was a fairly unwelcome thing, yes, but he didn't feel like commenting on the subject any further. Besides, what kind of conversation would come from that? It would be rather strange to start discussing whether it was good or bad to fall for a bait. To each their own, and to be honest, he'd very much prefer avoiding a possible clash of opinions so soon. Getting into an argument when there's only one person around is a bit sounded a bit too taxing for him. No thank you, let's just attempt to stay neutral for now.

Glancing at Julian casually, he would huff faintly. ''Indeed it is. Though, probably not as clean as Lunapa. That place is a literal greenland, compared to somewhere like Penecia. It does have less things for visitors to see, however.'', he'd state, in a 'just saying' way. Mostly because he didn't know what else to say without going too much off topic as he followed the younger man. If anything, he wasn't about to act as random as someone like Hyde. Even though it'd make a hilarious scenario.
