| In the quiet library of Zela Academy sat a boy on his lonesome. While others whispered to each other of school projects or scanning shelves for books, this particular boy merely sat near the window, reading a rather strange looking book. Stacked with pages, the page he was on made it appear as if he had yet to even dent it. Observing the cover would reveal it was a book on the tarot, going in depth on the various meanings of each individual card.
The boy's fiery red eyes scanned the pages slowly, taking in every word. He had a reputation as the lonely weird kid, so his interest in the subject merely garnered snickers and faint giggles from passersby. He cared little, considering his own intelligence much above that of those around him. He was ahead in his schoolwork, anyway.
The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed... he thought, quoting directly from the book before him.
He let out a faint and condescending smile.
What a load of crap.
And yet, he continued to read. As on a day like today, there was very little else to do. He didn't quite feel like going to look for another book or else he'd be met with the stares of the pretentious douchebags that surrounded him. So with a sigh, he flipped the page to The Lovers introduction and looked at the blue sky outside the window as he did so. The afternoon sun today was quite brutal, and he became tempted to move away from his seat which was directly in the path of the sun's rays.
He began reading as he walked to look for a new seating arrangement. As he became absorbed in his book more and more, he began to neglect his surroundings, bumping into things and possibly even other students. People muttered cusses or insults, but he didn't hear. He merely continued walking through, occasionally searching for seating but becoming increasingly enveloped in the book. There seemed to be little seating, but when he finally saw a chair in a nearby corner away from the sun, he smiled.
"Perfect." he muttered, and motioned towards it.

| Visiting the Zela Academy library was something Ray did not do very often. There was rarely a good enough reason for him to do so. He was decent enough in his studies to not need hours of poking his nose into a book, and he generally had different after school interests as well. Yet, sometimes it was a good place to spend time at. Why? The silence of course. Well, most of the time. Still, there was a better chance for a library to be quiet than anywhere else. If people didn't sew their mouths in such a place, then it was really a lost cause. That was what he'd say about the matter at the very least.
It was still worth a try, as he had a relatively free day, and well, the choice of what to do was always tiring. Maybe checking out the books they had on anything music related could be of some interest. The added silence would definitely be a good bonus. However, wishful plans don't always go the way they were imagined in the first place. Finding a fairly decent seeming book was not hard, not at all. The fact that some students were making ruckus, and commenting on some stuff. Now, he had no real interest in that, but it could be extremely distracting. 'Why can't people be quiet in a library...isn't it supposed to be that way...?', he thought briefly, in a small flash of annoyance, before simply deciding to move to a different side of the place. A simple solution...that might or might not work. He didn't feel like arguing with anyone though.
Eventually, he settled on going towards a corner. That seemed like the best bet for a quieter place. Though, it seemed that someone else had a similar idea though. Still, he didn't necessarilly care for the seating, as much as some peace from nonstop talking people. Which is why he'd simply shrug at the situation, and lean against the wall close to the table, with the book open in his hands. He could as well stand. No problem. He would give the approaching guy a short look, but that would be it for now. The other was free to sit, pretty much, if he didn't mind that he was going to share space...at least somewhat.

| When he moved for the seat, he noticed another boy approach at the same time. He raised his eyes from the page to lock his gaze with the boy, who in turn appeared to be looking back.
Even over here there's gonna be people, huh...?
He went to sit down, opening up to the page he was on previously. He went and traced his finger down to the point where he left off on, and read only a few sentences before stopping again.
Dammit. Couldn't this guy choose somewhere else?
He looked up to look at the boy nearby whom he had snatched the seat from. His glare was trained intently on the boy, even though he wasn't particularly angry at him. He had so rarely made nicer faces that it was almost as if he had forgotten how to make them. His heart was pounding slightly at the awkward silence, so he ended up breaking it by saying the first thing that came to his mind.
"So, what're ya readin'?"

| After the first short glance, Ray kept his gaze mostly to the book in his hands. Therefore, he hadn't really noticed the other teen glaring at him after a while. Well, not until the other decided to speak up all of a sudden. Turning his gaze towards the unexpected distrurbance, he was a little confused for a moment. Well, the kind of rather unpleasant expression didn't really go along with a small talk like that. Was he missing something there?
It wasn't like he was intentionally poking the other's space or anything. '...?...'He couldn't really make much of the situation, so he decided to just go along with the talk now. It wasn't going to hurt. Not as much as listening to the noise in other parts of the library. He didn't really mind conversation when it was at least somewhat normal. So far, it was..okay. ''Music theory, pretty much. Not sure if you'd find that interesting.'', he would answer in a laid back tone, lifting the book up to show the boy its cover briefly, if he wanted to look. ''Any reason why you're asking?'', he would question afterwards, somewhat curious as to what brought this on. He did his best to sound like it didn't bother him though, in case the other assumed that was why he asked. He just wanted to know, that was all.

| The boy shrugged, still his sharp glare in place and ignorant of how it would come off to others.
"Lots of people around here seem to delve into their crappy moe manga or some such. Was just wondering if you were one of those types. Can't stand 'em."
With that, he turned the page of his book once more, reading further into The Lovers section of the book. He found it particularly interesting and yet hopelessly naive. His book began to become harder to read when there was someone else he was also talking to. He began to wonder whether speaking up was a mistake to begin with. Still, however, this boy's way of responding let out a very different feel from the other types that try hard to look appealing and outgoing. He didn't exactly know why he felt this way, but figured it was worth a shot to determine if his feeling was right.
"Music, huh? What type are you looking into?"
Keeping conversations going was troubling for him, and such could probably be identified by the way he appeared to speak.

| ''To each their own.''
Ray would shrug slightly himself when he got his answer. Crappy moe manga, huh? Well, maybe it was a concerning thought for some, but he usually didn't care about other people's reading habits that much. What did it matter? Unless they were bothering him personally, or he had a reason to snoop, why would he care as to what are they reading about? Less dissapointment, honestly. The other was quiet for a while, so he stared at his book as well. He wasn't really sure whether his companion actually wanted a conversation or not, based on his glare. Waiting seemed like the best bet for now.
He would look back at the other though, at the belated follow up question. ''General stuff. I pretty much picked it just to read something. I don't really need it, to be honest.'', he would answer after giving it a little bit of thought. In a way, it was true. He did come here mostly to avoid the noisiness from the outside, even if this library didn't appear to be that much better so far. Also, a vague answer might save him from long-winded explanations. After all, if one wants to know the stuff in detail, they can just read. That's what the library here is for.
