PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyWed Aug 20, 2014 9:34 am

Kazuki would earn a raised eyebrow for her response. Him blabbing out stuff? That was her concern? Sharaku couldn't help it, but he found the idea laughable. First of all, he most likely knew more than the police itself, at least in certain matters. And second, it wasn't like he was the only one at the moment. Actually, third, even if he did talk about it, he would most likely be called a lunatic for such a story. They should up their searches, if civilians knew more than them, and not worry about secrecy. It apparently wasn't getting things anywhere...as long as she was accurate in what she was telling him. ''You have no idea...'', he would shoot back at her, amusement very clear in his tone. Though, it was true that he wasn't planning on simply telling around anyway.

When she talked abut the video game, he would give her a blank look at first. Before laughing out loud. This girl was going to be the death of him, seriously. Was she actually serious....Or, wait, he should probably be asking whether it was normal that a game like that was around. Either way, this was unbelievably funny. ''This....really...'', he was currently trying not to choke himself. He was so done here. ''Ahem, anyhow...'', he would turn his focus back on Kazuki after calming down from his laughing fit. ''What would you do if it actually WAS real?'', he would ask, a little more seriously this time. As funny as it struck him that she was going for a game like this, he was interested in her opinion. If only to know if she'd wimp out....if she were to find out these things seriously existed. ''Also, I'm actually sort of interested in this. Feel free to ramble as much as you want on this subject.'' It was actually at least entertaining. More than any of the other things she had mentioned so far.

''That so? And I wasn't even serious back there. Hm, I didn't know I was good at guessing.'', he would shake his head in slight amusement when she revealed that she did indeed write detective stories. And here, he had been trying to make a joke. Well, fail. Either way, stories weren't really his thing. But he had to admit the doodle was sorta...cute?

Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyWed Aug 20, 2014 12:35 pm

Kazuki just tilted her head a little, confused by what Sharaku meant by 'You have no idea' but decided to ignore it. She spun a little and tried not to look confused when Sharaku made a few comments about the game. She was even more confused when he was supposedly interested in it. "Huh? Why're you so interested in it all of a sudden?" she asked with a cocked brow. She decided to continue though and answer his question before talking about the plot of the game. "You wanna know what I'd do if the game was real? Well..." she trailed off as she began to think about it, before replacing the usual cheery and hyper expression on her face with a serious one.

"I'd destroy these shadowy things." she replied, her tone dead-serious and cold, completely lacking the happy-go-lucky voice it usually was. And then, the seriousness vanished as quickly as it came, as she decided to talk about the game again. "Well, if you don't mind my rambling, then lemme tell you what I know about the plot. There's this group of kids who kind of spend their free-time going to this other realm where they fight the shadowy things. The reason they fight is because these shadowy things threaten to come out into their world and they can't let that happen since a lot of innocent people would die."

When Sharaku explained that he hadn't been serious when he suggested the detective stories, Kazuki grinned. "Well, it doesn't exactly take a genius to put two and two together. I'm sure anyone would have guessed I wrote detective stories as long as they knew I was a detective and a writer." She fingered some of the words on the page gently. "You know...this one is based on the current case. I'm sure you can find out something odd about the case if you read it. It's based on my thoughts and opinions." Kazuki said.

Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyWed Aug 20, 2014 2:50 pm

Seemed he had managed to confuse the jumpy girl a little bit. Well, that was some sort of accomplishment as well. And it meant she was nowhere close to figuring out anything of what he was actually talking about. Splendid. In its own sense. ''I like monsters...?'', he would answer, a bit irrationally when she asked why was he so interetsed all of a sudden. That most likely wasn't the answer she had been looking for, but he did not care much. She asked, so he answered. As lame as the answer was. Sharaku couldn't really say he actually liked Shadows. Not even the one that bothered him daily. They were more annoying than anything else. When she suddenly turned serious, he would give her a few surprised blinks. Alright, that was somewhat surprising. ''Destroy, huh....?'', he would mumble thoughtfully, with a slightly distant expression. She was...something, that was for sure. Though, it still all depended on how would she act if it really were a reality. Everyone is tough when talking about a fantasy. Even he would, if he didn't know better. Well, at least theoretically.

He would listen to Kazuki talk about the general plot of the game, almost feeling a little dejected when she spoke about kids. Yes, well it were usually kids trifling with supernatural, but hearing it like this made him feel sort of lame. Thank you very much. ''Hm, well isn't this interesting? Say, how would you feel if it suddenly was real, and you'd have to be one of the people saving the world? Fun or not?'' Well, it didn't really matter what she thought per se, as she had no idea, but he found it very entertaining to inquire just because of that. Leaving people to guess what he was up to was sort of a favorite pasttime of his. And the reactions were often funny. Better be amused than spooked out by her cheeriness. He just had to convert it into something that suited him better.

When she pointed out it wouldn't take a genius to realize a connection with the stories and detectives, he would huff slightly. ''If I am not a genius, then what would I be...? Since I thought it was way too obvious to be true. Well, I failed.'' Ah, too bad. Maybe he should have thought it through firs-no, he would probably just have said something equally lame. He knew himself well enough. ''Ah? Well, if you'll let me. You did say you weren't giving out info, didn't you? Changed your mind, or are the facts you have written down not really that important?'', he would voice out, somewhat curious. Did she have a change of heart that quickly? Not that he really minded. He would like to have a look, if she decided to let him, if only to see what she was assuming so far. Opinions were something to at least consider, after all.

Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyThu Aug 21, 2014 1:28 pm

Kazuki seemed a little suspicious of Sharaku's answer but decided that it was a possibility. Liking monsters was a common reasoning behind wanting to know more about the game after all; a lot of the game's players were 'monster-lovers' as well, so Kazuki decided to accept his answer. She tried not to giggle when she noticed Sharaku blinked a few times when she replied seriously; most people reacted the same way when they first see her serious like that. When Sharaku asked her if she'd have fun being one of the kids, Kazuki smiled and nodded.

"You bet! My life's too normal it's boring. I mean, working as a detective can get fun, what with chasing criminals and what-not, but it's usually the same thing over and over. It's no fun. Not to mention the fact that catching the criminals is always too easy. I want a challenge." Kazuki replied with a frown. She looked just the least bit bored but then changed her expression to one of happiness. "A life like that would be fun and interesting! Wouldn't you think?" Kazuki asked with a wide grin. When Sharaku huffed at her 'wouldn't take a genius' comment, she stifled a giggle.

"Sorry...! I didn't mean it that way! I'm sure you're very smart! I meant that anyone could figure it out." she replied. When Sharaku asked about the 'story' she had written, her grin grew wider. "Hmm? What're you talking about? This is just a little 'story' I wrote." Kazuki replied with a wink. On the page, a little bit of dialogue was written between what appeared to be the detective and a friend. "I think that these disappearances are all linked to the murders. Think about it; these murders occur slowly, and then all of a sudden, a bunch of people disappear?" the detective said thoughtfully, still trying to connect the dots. "Also, think about the fact that the murders all started with a disappearance, as well. Take the fact that some students from that one academy all disappeared as well and somehow miraculously reappeared with no apparent memory of what happened to them, too..." Her friend nodded, noting that that particular fact was the most suspicious. "What about that principal? Remember how he died mysteriously and then his body disappeared the next day?" her friend asked, to which the detective nodded in agreement. There were too many things odd about the case; the duo were definitely missing some sort of information. The detective sighed in frustration. "What are we missing...? I know for sure that the academy is most suspicious right now seeing as its students are shrouded in mystery. Unfortunately, we can't speak to any of them. They've all graduated." she said, to which her friend sighed. There was much about the mystery at hand they did not know, but they would definitely find out.

Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyThu Aug 21, 2014 3:36 pm

Boring....Kazuki found being a detective boring? Sharaku would take a guess that she hadn't bumped into anything truly dangerous during her work yet, to think that way. Even a normal criminal can cause a lot of trouble if the opposing forces flounder. Not even a detective has to be safe from things like getting shot and the like. The more they pry, the easier target they make themselves, after all. And here she is, wanting a challenge. He wondered whether this kind of challenge wouldn't be too much for her though. She sure had the guts when talking about it, but it appeared that she has never gotten a glimpse of something really horrible. She probably wouldn't speak that way about these things, had she known. ''Easy? Who were you chasing after, pickpocket guys? I wouldn't say it would be a walk in the garden if you were to actually face a criminal with the intent to kill.'', he would shake his head a little. He really wasn't sure whether it was just her enthusiasm speaking, or she was really naive in the matter. ''And I'm not even speaking about the one in this case...'', he would mutter under his breath, not neccessarilly intending for her to hear. However, he wouldn't be too bothered if she managed to catch his words.

When she said such life would be fun and interesting, he had to resist rolling his eyes at her. Yep, totally. He was so 'hyped up' about this. How about no. ''I can't say I agree completely. Sound fun, sure. But, reality is not always rainbows and sunshine, trust me. How funny it is, knowing that you could get killed anytime?'', he would comment, rather dryly. He couldn't even come up with a legit joke at the moment. Her cheerfull approach to this was making him feel like a grumpy cat. Even if the fact was, that it was justified for him to act this way. He had a feeling Kazuki would be sort of like Hyde if she had he capability to fight. Hurr into everything. Which could be...both good, and terribly bad at times. When she apologized for the genius comment, he momentarily had the urge to stick out his tongue at her. Sadly, that was not his style. He wasn't upset at all, why would he be? He had been moreso mock upset, if nothing else. ''I didn't mean it that way either. I wasn't serious...I knew what you meant. Don't take me too literally, or you'll trip.'', he would smile lightly. This was just the way he was. No need to worry. Getting seriously upset was not like him. In most situations.

''Story, hm?'' Well, whatever she really meant, it was worth taking a quick skim over. It wasn't like it would do anything even if it wasn't useful. Reading was...always good to do, no? Well.....''The point here is that something unnatural is happening, yes? Is that what you think?'', he would turn to face her more directly after taking a short while to read her writing. Well, if that was so, she wasn't wrong. Though, if she were really a detective, she could already have connected some dots even here. Though, making speaking in game terms wasn't really the way. Everyone thought differently. On the other hand, he wasn't exactly sure if he would want her to start figuring it out. He had enough bothers of his own already.

Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyFri Aug 22, 2014 7:41 pm

Kazuki sighed a little as she thought about the many cases she had come across and when Sharaku asked about the cases she had taken on, she grinned. "Oh, all of my cases were homicide cases." she replied rather bluntly. She could remember each individual one as though they had occurred just yesterday. "The reason they were so easy was because the killers were always really stupid. They'd either leave out a bunch of evidence to try and incriminate someone else which really only marks them out as the killer or clean up too much. Of course, there was that one case with the poison that was somewhat difficult. The killer was actually pretty smart for once. She was the one you'd least expect...but then again, those kind of people are really the ones you should keep an eye out for." Kazuki added.

When Sharaku commented about reality not always being sunshine and happiness, her grin turned into a knowing smile. "Oh, I know that feeling all too well." she said, though she didn't add anything else to the topic. She waited at the corner of the street again as they reached a busy intersection. "Urk...I don't like busy intersections...! A lot of times it's hard to get across and you have to wait a while for the perfect moment." she said with a frown as cars raced by. She giggled a little when Sharaku replied that she shouldn't take him too literally. "I see." She waited for the light to turn and the 'Walk' signal flashed, allowing her, as well as a crowd of people around the two, to walk across the street.

She saw that Sharaku had read over her story and took the notebook from him when he was done. "Mhm. I've been thinking about how odd all of it was. Some things just didn't add up." Kazuki replied. Truthfully, she had thought about how suspicious the reappearances were. How could a person go missing and then turn up suddenly with no apparent memory of what happened to them? It seemed fishy. Kazuki reached the other side of the street and stopped. "Are we in the general area of the store?" she asked as she tucked away her notebook.

Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyFri Aug 22, 2014 8:41 pm

Stupid, huh? Maybe she was lucky, or people just didn't think things thoroughly nowadays. Not that Sharaku was the one to speak about that. He wasn't a fan of planning way too much either. Though, it was logical to do it when you were about to do something so serious. ''You don't seem like you enjoy working on these too much.'', he would comment casually. The way she was all...'It's always so easy' somewhat suggested the work bored her. Or she was just feeling overly accomplished. Whichever. Point was, it wasn't what he would initially expect from a detective. When you complain about a job being too easy, why are you even doing it? Search for challenge elsewhere. Or as they say, do it yourself. ''Keeping an eye on anyone right now?'', he would ask, a bit jokingly as he took mention of her last sentence. He doubted she was going to surprise him with her answer, but it would still be entertaining to hear it.

''Sure about that?''
He would give her a mostly rhetorical question when she said she knew the feeling well. He wasn't going to guess Kazuki didn't at all, but he did not think she knew past a certain extend. Knowing about people murdering each other was a normal thing by know. It happened. What else was on the news? ''Hm? You don't like waiting?'', he would ask, almost habitually as she suddenly complained about busy roads. Honestly, he didn't care. Not unless he was going to be stuck in a place. As long as there was a way out, even if it took some time, he was usually fine with it. Save for certain situations. None of which were any common though. When she said things didn't add up in regards to the story, he would give her an amused stare for a moment. Well, she was saying the obvious allright, even if he knew he had just asked for it. ''I can see why.'' He would leave it at that, still keeping a rather amused facade, even as he said so. Technically, he could. Most of those holes there could probably be explained through the supernatural in some way, even if he couldn't exactly tell how in some of the cases. Either way, it was something that couldn't be pierced together by normal logic.

When she asked about the store again, he had would pause for a while. He had almost forgotten they were here for that. For a moment, he gave her a half confused look, before taking a short lookaround. Hm, perhaps...''I think so. Most likely. Let's...go take a closer look, shall we?'', he would respond eventually, somewhat trying to seem like he had been...totally thinking about the directions before she mentioned it. Which he most definitely was not. NOT important though. Still, he was going to let her choose a general direction of the 'looking', if only because he was rather stumped for the moment.

Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyTue Aug 26, 2014 7:54 pm

((OOC: omg sorry for such a late reply! I've been so busy that I couldn't reply until now.))

Kazuki sighed some more as she thought about the cases. They were all boring. She wanted a case filled with danger and unexpected things. She wanted some excitement! These days, Kazuki never felt very...satisfied. There was hardly any criminals out there that were worth taking down. Still, she smiled and took on the cases solely for one thing. "I suppose...but, the reason I haven't quit yet is because of the grateful smiles I get afterwards. All of these cases had people who were hurt by them. I took them on so that they would be satisfied. Do you get what I'm saying?" Kazuki replied with a surprisingly mature grin. When Sharaku asked if she was keeping an eye on anyone, she giggled.

"You're kinda funny, you know that?" she said, seeming to have understood that it was a joke. She also nodded when Sharaku asked if she was sure about knowing the feeling. "There are a lot of people who'd want to kill me right now." Kazuki replied rather bluntly. She had put quite a few people behind bars, after all. She knew they'd kill her if they ever got the chance. As for the 'waiting comment', she huffed. "I'm a busy person. I don't have any time to wait!" she said as though she were someone important before giggling. "Just kidding. I'm just not very patient."

Kazuki twirled a little, acting as though she were carefree. In truth, she was thinking about her current case. She didn't like how odd it was and it gave off a rather evil aura, as though something big was behind it all. Still, she decided to think more on it later. No point in concerning herself silly with it if she wanted to relax today. When Sharaku asked to 'get a closer look', Kazuki looked confused but nodded anyway. Sharaku knew where he was going, right? Her eyebrows knitted together in worry. She wondered if Sharaku actually knew where they were going since she really wanted to get the game and head for the museum.

Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyTue Aug 26, 2014 9:31 pm

((OoC: Nah, it's okay. I've waited much longer before. I can handle lol))

For others, huh? That...was honorable at the very least. Doing a job you think is boring, to help those that were hurt by such criminals. She was an interesting girl, that she was. All smiles and excitement, yet she did things like this. Sharaku had to admit he had not expected Kazuki to say something like this. ''In a way.....'', he would respond when she asked if he understood her reasoning. Though he wasn't all jokes at this point. ''I suppose it's a good thing to know someone is trying to be helpful...'', he would add after a moment, most likely sounding rather hollow, as he looked somewhere far off. This sudden turn in conversation reminded him of some things. She wouldn't know though. She would just probably find it weird, as he was pretty laid back until now.

''Funny....am I? Perhaps so. Appearances can be decieving though.'', he would comment, giving a light chuckle. Honestly, he was not nearly as funny as she may think. It was still better if she did though. Being described as funny was always better than...other things. ''Would you be willing to kill someone..?'', he would ask, suprisingly in a causal tone, as if it was just an everyday question. She hadn't seemed extremely bothered by the fact that people wanted to kill her. Would she, hm? When she joked about being busy, he would only shake his head in slight amusement. Sure, as busy as a lazy cat. Or, maybe she was too busy endulging in her enthusiasm. That seemed like an actually possible case here.

Speaking of enthusiasm, maybe it was time to show some for searching. It didn't seem he was going to get any help with that. Aw, damn. He hated his sense of direction. It was totally unhelpful right now. He ended up making a few 'spins' right where he was standing, to look in every direction....hoping he would find at least something familiar. It didn't help him too much, though he at least figured some routes which would be a waste of time. Better than nothing. Eventually, he would decide on the one he thought was most likely to be right. And he could only hope he was being right. Damn video games. ''Ugh, very well. This way, I suppose.'', he would mutter, probably seeming a bit irked, as he took off in said direction. Why were so many streets there...?

Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] - Page 2 EmptyTue Sep 02, 2014 3:50 am

Spoiler:
"Help me!" a young man screamed running through an ally before suddenly a garbage can struck him from behind knocking him over. "I'm sorry! I'll return it!" he cried placing the laptop he was running with onto the ground and raised his hands leaning against a mailbox, "Don't kill me"

Mikhail walked out of the ally, "I'm not going to kill you." he sighed, "Why do people like you always assume I'm a cold blooded killer?" he asked. Mikhail and the ma both failed to notice Kazuki or Sharaku. "Is because I look bad? Is it my posture? Are you just a coward?" he asked stepping closer to the young man who was about to try to take off again but Mikhail ran over and stood in his path, "We're not done yet, punk." Mikhail glared coldly at him. "That laptop is worth how much?....Let's say....$300 American. That's a lot. Trying to steal something like that should be expensive to pay for."
"Pay?" the man asked shaking, "You just mentioned how I stole it"
"Yeah? I also said you'll pay for it."
"I don't follow..."
Mikhail leaned in closer, "Oh, you will. How many punches will it take for that to sink into your thick skull? Maybe it'll cave in before it does. You'd better run, I only wanted to give you the warning first!" Mikhail yelled at him stepping aside, "10 seconds!! 1!"
"Oh shit!!" the young man quickly scramled to his feet and ran as fast as his legs could carry him.
"2!" Mikhail yelled loudly after him, "3!" he yelled once more until the person he had just been yelling at was almost out of site.

"Thank god, my throat was starting to hurt." he sighed leaning down to pick the laptop up, "Least he didn't get away with my laptop." he thought putting it into his backpack and was about to walk away when he noticed Kazuki and Sharaku, "......shit, uh...." he stuttered, "H-how long were y-you both standing there?"
