Updated: 20/07/2020

**ALERT!** After a rather eventful evening at Maksim's Party, three teenagers seems to have gone missing. The doors of Vault Olympia have been breached due to a to this day unknown assailant, who sabotaged the doors locking systems, allowing demons to make entry. Thanks to the excellent defensive capabilities of the Vault's Security drones, the Attack was put to an end, and the invading monsters fled to the outside. Right now, the Doors of Vault Olympia are currently open, allowing any survivors of the fall to seek shelter within the Vault's safe halls. What Vault Security officials think of this development remains unclear as the Chief of Police and Security of Olympia refused to leave a comment. This is Rianara, of Olympia news, signing out.

The site is entering a new era as our team of mods works tirelessly on updating old and obsolete information threads and links. Over the Summer, we aim to make many changes to the forum, including writing a comprehensive beginners' guide to help new players accommodate to the combat and other rp systems in place here.

Be sure to constantly check the update thread for any changes to the boards. You can find it ->Here<-

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyMon Aug 18, 2014 5:44 pm

Kazuki walked down the street with a frown firmly plastered on her face. She had only been in this part of the city a few times so she was not familiar with it at all. She was beginning to regret her decision to come here. "Oh, why did I choose to go this way? I think I'm lost." she said to herself as she stopped at a busy intersection. Kazuki stood at the corner rather awkwardly and decided to stop and try to get some sense of where she was. "I'm supposed to go here at that street and then here at this street...right?" she muttered as she tried to find herself on the map in her phone. Kazuki sighed miserably; she was not feeling peppy right now. She didn't like being lost so this was not a very nice feeling for her.

Kazuki decided to just suck it up and keep moving in hopes that she'd make it to the place she wanted to go. She waited at the curb to cross the street, watching both ways carefully. There were cars going by rather quickly so it was important to be careful or she could end up getting hit by one. Kazuki tapped her foot as she waited patiently before crossing the street after seeing the 'Walk' signal appear on the light across the street. Kazuki walked across the street slowly before noticing that the 'Walk' signal was going to change back to the 'Stop' signal again. She quickly dashed across, just in time as the cars that had stopped took off once more.

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyMon Aug 18, 2014 7:19 pm

Sharaku was somewhat bored. That, however was not the reason he was hanging around San Malarus today. He..just wanted to think about some stuff that went on lately and all. Which was hard to do both at home, or literally outside of it. Inside, he was being bothered by his cat, outside, too many people to hear his own thoughts. Penecia was a more so attraction island after all. Not that San Malarus was much less populated, but it was still better by leaps and bounds. At least in his 'humble' opinion. And he could be less worried about bumping into someone around here. One less problem to face.

....Thinking was not pleasant. That was something he realized very quickly. Or, better put, it wasn't helping with anything, except fueling his already jittery mood. How can you seriously think about something, when your thoughts get interrupted by stuff like Hyde's funniness at random times? Simply...Mission impossible. Or maybe he just wasn't an expert thinker, if he got himself distracted so easily. Whichever the case, he soon found himself paying more attention to his surroundings than to what he had initially planned to spend doing. A real life distraction might just prove to be better than a dozen mental ones. There wasn't much entertainment around though. Maybe except a whitehaired female muttering about being lost somewhere nearby and....Wait. That was sorta funny. It reminded him how he tended to get lost everywhere. Well, he was better at it now, after living in this region for a while, but still.

And he still had nothing better to do...Well, what do you know? This sounded interesting enough. Thankfully enough, he didn't have much problem catching up, even with the changing signs. Having a long stride is useful at times, even if he generally cursed his heigth more than not. ''Hello, miss. I heard you saying that you were lost. Maybe I could help you out?'' He was being his usuall polite self, hoping this wouldn't bite him back. However, he needed something to distract himself from mental images, and the subject of being lost was rather entertaining fo him. Either way...it was't like he was going to get killed for this.

A little reference...:

PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyMon Aug 18, 2014 7:58 pm

omg:

Kazuki turned around when she heard someone speak to her. Her eyes fell on Sharaku and she blinked. "...Oh! Yeah, I'd like that a lot. I'm not too familiar with this area so it's difficult for me to get through here." she replied, looking a little embarrassed that someone had noticed. "How did you know? Am I that obvious?" Kazuki added, looking even more embarrassed. 'Oh...somebody actually figured I was lost...! This is really embarrassing...' she thought with a sheepish grin. She scratched the back of her head awkwardly.

"See...there's this store that I wanted to go see. It's this big video game store, I think. And then there's that museum that I wanted to visit, too." Kazuki smiled as she thought about the two places. She had been hoping to get some new games ever since her parents gave her her weekly allowance. She also wanted to see the exhibits the museum had to offer. She had heard a lot of positive things about it and figured she may as well give it a shot. Kazuki has always liked museums so that was a plus as well.

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyMon Aug 18, 2014 8:24 pm

((OoC: Haha, that's epic. We can fangirl together then. He's one of my favorite anime characters after all xD))

Ah, it was too bad that Sharaku didn't like using the word adorable. It would fit the young female just about now. Though, he wondered why did she look so embarassed. Everyone got lost once in a little while. He himself knew well from his own experiences. He would give her a light smile. ''Ah, not really. I simply heard you muttering to yourself back on the other side of the road. Speaking of which, it is a pleasure to help. I don't have anything significant to do today.'' He didn't seem fazed by her embarrassement at all. After all, he wouldn't want to make her feel even more foolish. That was not his intention at all. ''But, I believe, being obvious is not always that bad either, is it?'', he would give a sort of rhetorical question, keeping a lighthearted tone. Really, sometimes it was nice to know stuff right off the bat. Even if he was generally the prime example of the opposite.

When she mentioned the places she wanted to visit, Sharaku would pause for a bit to think. 'Video games...Oh dear...' That was one of the things he did not have much interest in. Or, better put, never had the actual chance to get into. Which came down to the fact, that he wasn't exactly sure where that exact store was. Thankfully, he at least knew the location of said museum. Better than nothing. All that considering that he did not live on this particular island. After a short moment of silence to compose his thoughts, he would give a response. ''The Video game store might be a little tricky. I have never been there before, so excuse me if I get that one wrong. But, I can show you to the musem easily.'', he would explain, remaining fairly good spirited, even if he was only safe with one of those two options. ''Well, whichever it shall be, miss?'', he would ask afterwards, offering her a choice. Sure, he might be skeptical about his own ability to find that one store, but that didn't mean he was not going to try if she wanted that more. He would...just have to improvise...Nothing for a try. Besides, it's been a while since he had an actual chance to act on his manners.

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyMon Aug 18, 2014 8:38 pm

((OOC: Yay~ XD))

Kazuki looked a bit more embarrassed when Sharaku mentioned that he had heard her muttering to herself but recomposed herself. "Right...! Ehehe...I tend to talk to myself a lot. It doesn't seem weird, does it?" she asked, hoping that he didn't think her odd or anything. Upon hearing Sharaku ask that being obvious wasn't always bad, she thought about it and found that she did agree. Kazuki grinned at him and listened as Sharaku explained how he may get the wrong place for the video game store. "Oh, if you don't know exactly where that is, it's okay. I'm sure we'd be able to find it if we look in its general area." she replied with a happy smile. She was starting to feel more chipper now that she had an escort.

"Hmm...as for where to go first...I think we should get the video game store first, in case it takes a while to find it. I don't want to be looking for it late at night, after all." Kazuki said after thinking about it for a bit. She didn't like being out on the streets at night; there tended to be some odd characters out and about then. Kazuki then realized with a jolt that she hadn't even introduced herself. "Oh...! Where are my manners? I haven't even told you my name, yet." she said with a sheepish grin. Kazuki put out a hand for a handshake. "I'm Chuugi Kazuki, but you can just call me Kazuki~! It's nice to meet you and thank you for helping me out." Kazuki said with a toothy grin.

PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyMon Aug 18, 2014 9:24 pm

''Not at all.'' Sharaku would smile lightly. ''There are much weirder things than talking to oneself, believe me.'', he would shake his head in slight amusement. There were things far more strange than that. Not that she would know, but still. With that in mind, talking to yourself was actually completely and utterly normal. ''I may just be more weird than you.'', he would add, in a mostly joking tone. Truth was, he was and obviously, but that was just a fact. Lately, joking about himself sounded better than moping about it. And, it wasn't like people would have any idea what he was talking about. Easy. ''I suppose so...'', he would trail off a little, when she mentioned they could just look in the general area. She seemed a bit happier than he would have expected. He didn't even do anything....? Ahm, nevertheless...

''Fine with me.''
, he would say nonchalantly, although it was a bit of a letdown that it was 'search' first. Oh well, he did offer, didn't he? Time to swallow it. He had to resist laughing when she suddenly worried about her manners. If there was something he didn't mind, it was lack of manners from other people. He usually only cared about his own. In response to her grin, he would offer only a thin smile. He could be outgoing, but he didn't go all out very often. And even rarely so with someone he had only just met. But, he would take the handshake, not hesitating about that. ''Well, hello Kazuki. The name's Sharaku. Sharaku Rikei. The pleasure's all mine.'' He would introduce himself back. ''Also, no need for manners. I am not uptight on that.'' He generally didn't care if people insulted him, so a little leeway wouldn't bother him at all. He wasn't a stuck up by any means.

Kazuki's grin grew wider when Sharaku shook her hand and introduced himself back. "Well, in that case, do you mind if I call you 'Shara-kun'?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with joy. This, well in her opinion, marking Sharaku as her first friend since moving to the Azores Region. She was feeling even happier now. She bounced up and down excitedly and began to skip off in some direction before realizing she didn't even know which way they were going to go.

"Oh! Which way are we going, by the way?" she asked, all peppy and ready to jet off. "You can lead the way~!" Kazuki spun happily, back to her usual self. No more getting upset about being lost, now! She was free as a bird and right on track with Sharaku with her. She then stopped and gasped, suddenly. "Um, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you?" Kazuki asked while tilting her head slightly.

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyTue Aug 19, 2014 9:38 am

When Kazuki popped that 'nickname' question along with her grin, Sharaku would stare at her for a while, rather baffled. Was something wrong with his name, or did he just have the luck of meeting people who liked to give nicknames? That, and wasn't the japanese honorific in that one used for men that were younger than the speaker? Unless he was mistaken. On the other hand, if he had handled Hyde trying to call him 'Raku-chan' at one point, this should be a piece of cake. It felt a bit strange, but he could swallow that for now. He would eventually break a small smile. ''If you insist, go ahead.'' He was damned already, so it didn't matter so much. 'Uh...' He would stare after her as she momentarily bounced and skipped around, feeling really perplexed at that moment. Just what did he get himself into? This female looked like she was on a sugar high or something. Yes, he had wanted a distraction, but so far, this was....a bit more extreme than he had been planning for.

''Yes, well...This way.''
For some reason, he had a feeling he was going to start breaking sweat soon, as he gestured somewhere to the right. He wasn't used to such chipperness. Hyde was random, but for god's sake, he was at least predictable by now. Hopefully, he wouldn't get lost himself. That would probably guarantee some mishaps. 'Older than you..' That was the first thing that came in mind when Kazuki asked her question, but he refrained from saying that aloud. It would probably not sound polite at all. ''I'm 22. You?'', he would answer nonchalantly. Well, what else he was to say to that. Let's see how she takes that. Because, he honestly couldn't tell if she even had an estimate of his age before she had asked.

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyTue Aug 19, 2014 10:53 am

Kazuki bounced from side to side with her hands behind her back as she waited for Sharaku's answer. At hearing him state it was fine, she gleefully shouted, "Yaay~!" while spinning around and throwing her hands in the air. When Sharaku pointed out which way they were going, Kazuki skipped along that way and waited for Sharaku to follow. "Shouldn't you lead, Shara-kun?" she asked, with a tilted head again. And when Sharaku answered Kazuki's 'age question', her mouth widened into an 'o' and she nodded.

"22, huh? Well, you're a lot older than me! I'm only 16. But, that's okay since it means people will stop treating you like a kid! Do you work anywhere?" Kazuki replied. "I myself work as a detective for the police! Otou-san recommended me to them and told them to treat me like an adult but they still treat me as a kid. It can get kind of frustrating." She pouted a little; she hated being treated like a kid, after all! She was so not a kid...right? She worked hard (well, as hard as she could without going all-out), ate all her vegetables, and even had a solid occupation. Weren't these enough?

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyTue Aug 19, 2014 11:47 am

''Yes, yes, let's go.'' There was nothing else to do but give up at this point. Lest Kazuki might just try and drag him. Sharaku could easily manage to imagine such a sad fate, after seeing how jumpy she was. Hopefully, she would content with walking. He was not going to pounce around like she did. After all, he still had some dignity left, even when spending time with an acquaintance like this. ''Are you always as energetic as this?'', he would eventually ask, after a moment of walking in said direction. He was keeping a friendly tone, but inwardly he was almost wary of the answer he'd get. While he wasn't against a bit of adrenaline, sometimes too much, was simply too much.

...16, was she? That was...6 years younger, yes? It was quite a bit, but she wasn't the first. He already knew someone of that age. Difference was, that someone was much calmer than her. Oh well. ''I don't want to sound bad, but your age isn't the only thing that indicates whether people view you as a kid. If you act like a kid, they will treat you that way, no matter how old you really are.'', he would shrug a little at that. Though, in all honestly he could see why would they treat her as a kid. Acting the way she did....Many would see it as childish, and possibly immature. ''Also, I do not specifically work anywhere. I prefer doing my own business.'' Well, yes, and that was usually pretty much nothing, but it wasn't like he really needed to work right now. There wasn't much in it for him at this point in time. Though, he would give her a rather curious look, when he finally registered what she said about herself. Detective for the police? Well, what do you know? Now, that was something worth of interest. ''Say, since you work as a detective. Been dealing with anything recently?'', he would ask, seemingly just curious about her work. Honestly though, he wanted to know whether she knew anything about those recent incidents, such as the criminal and kidnappings. It wouldn't hurt to ask. At least, he wasn't being a 'jump the gun' guy like Hyde, and going to the police directly, to rattle to the about supernatural stuff. That, for one, was a bit insane.

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyTue Aug 19, 2014 2:59 pm

Kazuki happily giggled and skipped alongside Sharaku as they moved down the street. She ignored the odd looks given to her by passersby and grinned. She seemed to almost shine with a brilliant radiance of happiness. Upon hearing Sharaku ask about her energetic self, she gave him a nod. "M-hmm! My energy is boundless!" she replied. She bit her lip when Sharaku explained that her age had nothing to do with the others treating her as a kid. "I guess that's true...but you have't seen me in action, yet. I might act like a kid now, but if you see me when I get serious, I betcha you'd see me in a new light." Kazuki replied with a wink. She was smiling and continued down the street but frowned when Sharaku asked about her work.

"Well...the police are in a tizzy trying to figure out what's going on with the missing persons and even the murders from a while back. To be honest, they don't have any leads what-so-ever. I feel like there's something off about every disappearance and the murders, but I don't now what exactly. I wish I could tell you more, but the precinct wouldn't allow it." She frowned further and continued down the street before abruptly stopping. Her eyes widened a bit as a large crowd of people came charging towards her and Sharaku! "Whoa! That's a lot of people!" Kazuki said and she just barely managed to get out of the way before they jet past with enough speed that they would've knocked her down or sent her flying had she stayed in their path. "Talk about rude...!" she muttered.

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyTue Aug 19, 2014 3:41 pm

Boundless...Sharaku wasn't sure whether he liked that word right now. It wasn't that...Kazuki made a bad company, but he would have expected this kind of behavior from someone at least a couple years younger than she was. Some people sure were surprising. ''I see.'' That was totally a smart response, but he just couldn't come up with anything better to say at the moment. When she explained that she acted different when she was serious, he would give her a raised eyebrow in amusement. ''Is that so? That would be interesting to see, I'm sure.'' He couldn't say he knew many people who were capable of a big turnabout in their actions. Everyone ususally followed their own set pattern, and you could generally see similar traits even when they tried to act differently. Somehow, he couldn't see her giving that cheerfullness up completely.

Well, so much for a try. She didn't tell him anything even remotely useful. He already knew that the police were trying to track this down, he didn't need to be told that. Though, she had no idea how right she was about something being off about this whole thing. ''No big deal.'', he would smile slightly. ''I doubt you would be able to tell me anything I don't know yet anyway.'', he would state lightheartedly. Even if she was, by any chance hiding something, it probably wasn't too important for him. He had a feeling there wasn't much to learn about this from normal people by this point. There probably hadn't even been a point in asking her in the first place. When she piped up about the mass of people, he would just give an unimpressed look, taking a few long strides to the side, to get out of the way. A horde of hurrying people was the last thing he was going to worry about these days. Rude, hm? Honestly, he was sort of indifferent towards that. ''I would say it's a waste of time to worry about such details.'', he would comment offhandedly. ''Why get offended by people you don't even know? It's just a waste of energy. I wouldn't bother.'' Just take it in stride. He would be fairly busy if he were to deal with every little thing like this.

PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyTue Aug 19, 2014 8:04 pm

"If the precinct calls me in for some work, you can see me at my best!" Kazuki replied when she heard Sharaku tell her it'd be interesting to see her 'serious'. She grinned and continued down the path and just nodded when Sharaku admitted that anything she had to say probably were facts he already knew. "Wow...! Are you investigating the case yourself? Not much information about the case is released to the public, after all." she said. Kazuki had paused momentarily when Sharaku commented that it was a waste to talk about the people that had passed by before nodding and beginning to walk again.

"I guess. Sorry. I have a bit of a short-temper so these kinds of things can get to me." Kazuki explained with a sheepish grin. She awkwardly walked on for a bit before spinning and changing the subject. "Ne ne, are we almost in the general area?" she asked with a happy grin. She seemed to have forgotten the rude crowd already. She then gasped a bit before digging into her little messenger bag for a notebook labeled 'Writing' and a pencil. She scribbled something furiously down before packing it all up again. Kazuki started when she realized that she had forgotten Sharaku was there. "Oh, sorry about that, Shara-kun! I sometimes get these bursts of inspiration and creative ideas. I like to write them down in a notebook so I don't forget later on. I'm a bit of a writer, you see."

Out in the City [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Out in the City [Open]   Out in the City [Open] EmptyTue Aug 19, 2014 8:34 pm

Sharaku would only nod lightly when she gave an enthusiastic reply. It was a little questionable. Not that he didn't like the idea per se, but he wasn't prone to watching like a hawk. Which meant he might just not notice just when is she actually in her work mode. Other personal matters tended to get in the way a lot lately. No time to keep eye on everyone equally...Not unless he found a way to clone himself. And that, was something he would definitely not attempt. One thing he wouldn't do; poking around with human matter. Let's just...not. When Kazuki assumed he was investigating as well, he would offer her a somewhat playful smile. ''Maybe, maybe not. I can't talk about classified things either, now can I?'' It was up to her, as to how would she interpret that. Either way, he was not planning on telling her anything specific, even if she did decide to prod as to whether he knew anything. This was just for his own amusement, mostly.

''No need to apologize. I was just saying.''
It wasn't like he had meant she shouldn't react. It was mostly up to her after all. He wasn't going to tell her how to act. He was...moreso only voicing his own opinion, if one were to categorize his speech in some way. His thought processes could be complicated at times, so it was probably preferable to just let it rest as it is. ''Hm? Impatient, aren't we?'', he would jab at her a little, when she suddenly spun around to ask whether they were close already. ''But, yes, it shouldn't be too far from here.'' Unless he was wrong. He was no GPS after all. When she pulled a notebook out all of a sudden, he would simply watch her with a rather deadpan expression, until she decided to give an explanation. He had the feeling it was for the best to take these things...gracefully. There was probably no use going all 'wtf'. If he did indeed ignore the urges to do so, she wasn't that hard to be around. ''A writer and a detective? An interesting combination, I must say. Maybe you should write detective stories?'' Hm, that wasn't a very good joke. But better than nothing. Besides, he had nothing actually meaningful to say. He had never tried writing....He had no way to know better.

Out in the City [Open] Empty

Kazuki thought for a few seconds then nodded. "Yeah...the higher-ups would probably get really upset with me if I let you blab about the cases to the public. Sorry." she replied with a sheepish and apologetic grin. She forgot that would be a problem. The higher-ups already had their eyes on her since she let her anger get the best of her on the last case, after all. It wouldn't be good for anyone if she slipped up again so soon. She sighed a little before remembering she had company. It wouldn't be ideal to let a civilian know about her mistake too so she tried to forget about it. She giggled sheepishly when Sharaku called her 'impatient' but smiled when he told her they should be nearly there.

"Alright! I was looking forward to buying this one specific game, you see. It's this game where you choose from a variety of odd creatures to be your partner and fight these shadowy monster thingies to save the world!" Kazuki said with a grin, explaining her reasoning behind wanting to go to the video game store. "It'd be kinda cool if the game was real but I guess it'd also be terrible since a lot of people could be killed by the shadowy monsters..." she continued, beginning to rant on about the pros and cons of the game being reality before realizing she was rambling. "Ah! Sorry. I guess I rambled a bit there, huh?" Kazuki said with a sheepish grin. When Sharaku suggested she write detective stories, she grinned and pulled out the notebook again. She flipped to a certain page and showed it to Sharaku. It had a small introductory paragraph to what seemed to be a detective story as well as a few doodles of a small, chibi detective-like character. "Oh, I actually do write detective stories! I mean, I don't specialize in 'em, but I enjoy writing them!"
