The Contract (Hyde's Awakening)

After Hyde Mizumi signed his name on the contract, and saw the words written on it, his vision would fade within his deep sleep. He would feel a familiar sensation of flying into a blue door that would open into a bright light. After the light cleared up, he would see himself in a single chair, in front of a blue table, in a large sunken ship. In this familiar setting, he would see Igor across from the table, entwining his fingers together and giving a very intrigued smile. “Welcome, to the Velvet Room,” he said. “Do not be alarmed, you are fast asleep in the real world. I have summoned you within your dreams.” After his simple words, he would wave his hand across the table, a notebook suddenly appearing under his hand. The notebook would open on its own, revealing the contract that Hyde had just signed; his signature plain as day. “Do you recall this young man? This is the contract you chose to sign of your own free will. Henceforth, you shall have access to a new power, unfamiliar to you, or your friends. It is like the number zero: empty, yet full of possibility. You have the potential to wield multiple Personas in battle. As you develop your social links, the bonds that you create will increase the number of Personas you can wield, as well as the power in each one. I only ask one thing in return…” he finished, closing his eyes for a brief moment. “…that you abide by the contract you have signed, and assume all responsibility for the choices you make.” He remained quiet, the only sound around being the occasional bubbling of water that would float around the ship.

Hyde remembered this place; he had a dream about the pirate king Igor before. “Yes, I understand that I would have to take full responsibility of the fate that comes with the power. However, I found something important that I wanted to protect, and I can’t do it with the power that I have right now. “ It was Hyde’s turn to ask, he had to know if there was a something after all of this. “Igor, what happens after I die? Will I still be me? Will I disappear? Its ok if you can’t tell me, it won’t affect my decision. I just wanted to know.

Igor closed his eyes, thinking thoughtfully. Without opening them, he would continue to speak. “I cannot say. I suppose you shall have to find out for yourself, but I believe that your answer will truly be most important. I can hardly wait," he said with a chuckle and smile. "Well then, till we meet again…” After Igor’s cryptic words, Hyde’s vision of the room would fade, and he would wake up as though nothing had happened. But he would indeed be able to sense his new ability. His Persona had returned to its original strength as when it started, but it could always rise again, and he now had access to a power very few could even dare to dream of.
