| Sentinel and Maria stood at the platform of the Ueitawa Train station. This was not optimal for the guardian and the individual he was supposed to take care of. They had moved a lot, and the android feared that it would harm Maria's emotional development and make her cold to the world. Except he had to follow his main directive and keep her safe, and what had happened to Yoro was spreading. This was far too dangerous, Sentinel did not know if he could sufficiently protect Maria in the coming storm. The words of how he would eventually fail to protect Maria rang in his mind, and resonated when he heard the news about Yoro. At that point they would leave if this phenomenon spread elsewhere. The young girl seemed sad, and even know Sentinel could tell that she was still upset. The girl was reading the book that Gabby had recommended to her, and her eyes were watery. To see his charge upset, made Sentinel disappointed in himself for being unable to think of any other option than escape. He placed a hand on Maria, and offered her a soft smile, "Don't worry Maria, I'm sure Gabby got out okay." He would say, and the young girl would look at him with her teary eyes. "B-b-ut...what if she is still in there?" The young girl would reply before continuing on a moment later "I don't want to leave her and all my friends...do we have to go?" her eyes pleaded with her guardian. The white haired android sighed, and touched the ring that once belonged to Maria's mother. It supposedly contained her wish that Maria would grow up to be safe and happy....if they fled she would be safe...but perhaps not happy. How could he fulfill these two orders at once was proving to be...difficult to say the very least. A compromise occurred to him, which may be for the very best. "I have an idea Maria. We'll take the train to a nearby town, and get a hotel there. If the danger goes away then we will return to Uietawa, and we'll find Gabby right away. Once we find her we'll all get ice cream, how does that sound?" That seemed to brighten the girl's mood and hope as she nodded happily. The two would then get on the now arriving train that would depart Ueitawa. As the android looked back toward the dangerous city, his thoughts would drift to those that he had met. "Best of luck Rosewater, and Gabby...stay safe."OOC: | |
