The fanged spring sun was still hiding behind the passing winter clouds, the wind slightly chilly, as spring had began only recently. It was another day, Saturday, so there was no school, but a day to get through nonetheless. Hibiki sighed as he dressed himself, trying not to get tangled in his jacket’s bunny ears. To be honest, sometimes he wasn’t even completely sure why he did what he did. In this particular case, it wasn’t as if he had a reason to go out. Why didn’t he simply stay at the dorm, relax and be done with it? That he didn’t know. Even if he said that it was a result of boredom, it wouldn’t have exactly been the truth. There was a multitude if things he could be doing, yet he somehow didn’t feel like it. How amusing. Although, not so in a positive sense. Being troubled over such a simple action as choosing something to do wasn’t a preferable state of mind. Not even when Hibiki was kind of used to this dilemma already. Life shouldn’t feel as bland as that, and yet he often found it hard to get adequately interested in anything. Nowadays, such an occurrence was rare and it made him wonder. Either the world was becoming too plain, or he needed to try looking at it from a different angle. And for some reason, he had a feeling the latter was more like it.

Still, he did end up going out, as he obviously did not manage to think up anything else. It took him a fair while, many of the other residents of the dorms finding a reason to stop him midway, and as per usual, Hibiki sent them off with a friendly word or such. Although, there was much more he would like to say to those buggers. But since, it was him, it went unsaid. Now, that he was finally outside, came the problem of where to go, as he hadn’t really focused on that one yet. Ueitawa was big enough, so he had plenty of choices, which didn’t make it any easier. At first, he considered going somewhere quiet for a change, as the ‘performance’ he had to give during the normally short walk out of the dorm had irritated him quite a bit. Some people definitely needed to learn to chill out for at least once in their lives. Then again, he knew very well, that being alone too long didn’t suit him well either, which was kind of contradicting. He didn’t fancy alone time much, and yet many people annoyed him when he had company. Not that he ever showed it though. Maybe he shouldn’t blame them form seeking him out when he never voiced out that he wasn’t interested. Bothersome, and yet, he never stopped being that way, however frustrating it was at times. Perhaps this time he should try something new this once. It might just do him good. But, where? He had already ruled out a place with a small amount of people, so logically it should be something more on the other side of the scale.

In conclusion, there wasn’t as much to choose from as he initially thought, and he eventually settled on a local club, hoping it wouldn’t end up badly. Getting along with people was sort of his specialty, but in such a setting, he wasn’t sure. He had never tried anything like it, as it was usually a bit too extreme for his tastes. But, who knows? It might not be that bad, hopefully. He was still a bit wary about it, and continued thinking of the consequences on his way there, but he did not turn back. It would be silly to be afraid of a club, now wouldn’t it? It wasn’t like it was going to bite and eat him. Well, the people inside might try, but he pushed such thoughts away, as it only made the situation worse in his mind.

‘’Well, here goes nothing…’’
, he thought with a small sigh, preparing himself for what was to come. It didn’t prepare him for the loud ear-blasting music the moment he stepped in. ‘’Eh…’’ He wondered how did the people who visited these places often not become deaf eventually. Perhaps it was just a matter of getting used to it. Anyhow, he shook the random thoughts of using earplugs away, looking around instead. He couldn’t just stand there, now could he? There weren’t many possibilities, really. It was either go sit at the bar, or go dance. And for now, he was content to choose the former, as dancing wasn’t his cup of tea. It wasn’t that he didn’t know how, but he found it slightly awkward, and he wouldn’t do so out of his own volition. The bar it was, then. The waiter was quite friendly, which was good, as he was already frustrated enough. The menu was interesting enough, and with the amount of younger people milling about, it was kind of funny that they served a lot of alcoholic stuff. Not that he was going to order that though. Getting drunk was not on his list of priorities.

And even if he did plan to do so, he wouldn’t have gotten much of a chance at it. Either he had way too much bad luck, or he hadn’t yet figured out why people loved to pick him when they wanted something. Hoping that this time it was something simple enough, he looked up when he heard a voice behind him. ‘’Hello there. Are you busy?’’, a girl, most likely somewhere in her teen years addressed him. Something told him that this wasn’t going to be to his liking, but he responded in a friendly tone nevertheless. ‘’Hello. No, not really. Is there anything you need?’’, he asked, praying she didn’t really want anything from him. ‘’I noticed you’ve been sitting on your own. So, I was wondering if you’d like to come dance with me, perhaps?’’, she proposed, wearing a cute smile. ‘’What? Seriously?.....Why me….’’ Hibiki fought the urge to facepalm when he heard that. Well, it seemed that he jinxed it. Out of all things this could have been about, it had to be that. Besides, wasn’t she a bit too straightforward about it? That was a bit too fast. But, the main problem here was what to say to that. If he was to be his usual self, it would mean he’d have to accept, to keep on good terms. And yet, going to dance with someone he did not know, considering that he was not into dancing in the first place, wasn’t a very pleasant thought. ‘’…………………….’’

At that moment, Hibiki decided that this trip was more trouble than it had been worth so far. He really wished he was better at saying things that put other people down, lest he was going to be pushed around forever. Like now, for example. He was very much aware that he was most likely going to regret this, but it was too late to think of a polite way out of this. ‘’I guess I could…For a while, anyway.’’, he said, trying not to sound annoyed that he had to do this. ‘’Hopefully, this will be quick..’’, he thought as he followed after the over-excited female, already less than pleased with the outcome. ‘’That’s great!’' Well, at least someone sounded enthusiastic about it. Thankfully, she didn’t try to drag him. That would have been way too much.

In a way, it still was, and he spent most of the time attempting to keep enough of a distance from others and avoiding bumping into anyone. Not that much dancing as it was trying to get it over with as quick as possible. One thing that was good, was that the girl was apparently too happy with herself that he even agreed to notice that he wasn’t into it very much. And second, he managed to somehow excuse himself after ten minutes, which was a sort of a record in his case. Usually, he stayed around with company a lot longer than that. ‘’This is so IT…’’

With that out of the way, he paced back to his place at the bar, drowned his unfinished drink quickly, probably setting another record for himself and promptly decided to leave this place. At least for today. Although, he was pretty sure that he wouldn’t be likely to come back here on his own. If he was with someone, he could at least avoid getting bothered by random people. That would be a mighty plus in a place like this. ‘’Maybe I should have stayed at the dorms anyway…’’, he thought dejectedly as he made his way back through with the cool evening air whistling by.
