Kogami would wake up in the dark lanky apartment, he could hear the sound of water drip continuously from the broken pipe. He would then take a deep breath and look around, this was his domain, this was as good as it gets. Using some of the donations for renovations and the very first score he had at the casino, Kogami found a way to get by. Going into the cup board and instinctively killing a cockroach, he reaches for a bowl and a box of cheerios. “This place is still shitty though…. I have a long way to go but…” Kogami would rewash the bowl and pour the cheerios inside. “Im still alive at least, even if this could barely be called living. “Kogami reaches inside the fridge to realize that he was out of milk. It looked to him that he would have to eat his cereal dry today. “Sigh….” After annoyingly dry breakfast, Kogami would soon head out of the door, only to be greeted by a thug that was waiting for him. This problem traveled all the way from the beginning, his involvement with abels rival gang to get back at him. He had most of his boys arrested, as compensation, he would do these occasional errands with them. “The boss would like to have a word with you. Allowing you to stay here was a blessing, a great gift that you continue to squander by not obeying our wishes. I tough this was your kind of life Koga, you got soft, you got quiet in that little cave of yours."
Kogami punched him in the face, the man staggered as Kogami was hit in the back of te head with a pipe. Another blow was heading his way as the man raised his hand for the other thugs to stop. “ Ahh, you still hit the same though. I like you Koga, do yourself a favor. We have a score today, don’t fuck this up and maybe you’ll get a cut this time. “ This was what life was for Kogami , unpaid scores to get him to enjoy doing criminal activities. Another way to break his will, another addition to the problems he has now. This was his fortune, the double side of tails that is always flipped towards the negative. Koga takes the ski mask and puts in on, it was the usual routine. Robbing the rich was all the more satisfying, the people who occasionally show up to spot out vacated buildings for renovation. That’s all they cared about, building, continuing to grow, continuing to expand. Kogami was sick to his stomach at how low he fell, is mother must be cringing in her grave. But it upset him even more as to how this life of his was turned, even if he lived by the worst, with the worst, how could they be only handed scraps?
After the score, Kogami got his cut and he was well on his way to the church. He could feel a little light headed from the blow he received before. The word no was something that remained difficult to say for the majority of the residents here. To deny was to die, and might means right. They weren’t necessarily right, but they weren’t necessarily wrong. This is how they have to live, and it was the only place that could be considered as a safe haven. Kogami thought about this as he was dressed up in his bishop clothes. A black tux, high in detail. He would listen to confessions, a huge step down from appearing as the prophet. Those who came to see him, would only be able to during special events. A special word, a turning point in limbo perhaps. A turning point to his favor, but having them yearn for his appearance once again only increases the motivation, it only increases the actions they would take for him to be pleased. And yet, Kogami was among them, posing as one of the members instead. Kogami would sit in the small booth by himself sometimes, and reveal his own sins, and asks himself for forgiveness. And yet, he could never give himself a true answer, he would only remain there, motionless and emotionless towards the whole thing. The god created as a worshiping icon only cared if the other users worshiped him as well, but how naïve could they possibly be. Being in the know, and being granted of a power with free will, why would they revert to worshiping the being that has gave them the power, when that being itself doesn’t really care if they lived or die. They was to serve a purpose as humanity’s nuisance, all the way towards its own self destruction. The worlds, or their own, high chaos was the result Nyra wanted.
Kogami would have this small thought in his head as service would be over, heading over to the small super market before it closed. He needed milk, he needed some groceries at least. Maybe some mouse traps, maybe a bug spray. Gathering all of the materials he could possibly buy with the cash he received from the score, and heading home afterwards. Opening his door and locking it behind him, Kogami heads straight for the shower. Just as his fortune demands it, the only water that was available for him to wash his skin was cold. There’s no real person to complain to, the landlord was just as corrupt, only filing his own pockets at the poor residents here. Kogami only avoids rent due to his association, fear was the only motivation for anything here. Fear gets you what you want, force gets you what you want. But Kogami’s fortune was going to change pretty soon, he wanted to live a better life than this. It was all anybody could possibly hope for, living in such a horrible place. It only allows your soul to be tainted by the rest, you fall in line among the walls of obscurity, and as you sleep, the darkness covers you.
