Test PvP Castle Battle Royale! (Term Paper, Gotnone)

Irina walked inside the great hall of what appeared to be a large castle on the outside. There was not much to speak of in the way of passages, as the castle was morphed inside. All rooms seemed to lead to this great hall, after leaving any kind of pathway after a bit of walking. The great hall in particular had four entrances in, one being a very large door on one end of the room where Irina herself walked into. To the left and right from where she stood in the middle were smaller doors that anyone could enter from. At the other end on the other side of the large door, was a smaller door to the left of the middle, which contained a gold throne upon an altar of sorts that rose a bit higher than the floor. In the middle of the hall was a long table, stretching fifty feet from one end to the other, the ends of the table about five meters distance from the altar where the throne was and the large door. The ceiling was easily forty feet high complete with several chandeliers hung over the table. Behind the throne was a moderately-sized circular window painted with different colors of some gibberish. Irina would remain there in waiting for anyone that might show up. She would press the button on her gauntlet and summon her demon Ala who appeared in a small cloud of black smoke. “You woke me from the nap you promised once we entered the castle. Are we expecting visitors?” she asked. Irina gave a slight smirk. “Possibly. It is why I called you out wasn’t it?” she responded. She would remain by the large door, in between it and the large table, in wait of any newcomers.

It had been a very mundane night as Sen had been briefed for another mission. There were two people he had to kill after all. One from the Rebellion and the other from the Cult. From the basis of his intelligence that he had received from higher ups, these people were going to convene at a certain building. From the photos of their appearances, they seemed very normal people. But it was never going to be that simple with all this demonic business.

Now he was here in some obnoxious castle in the middle of a city in Japan. He had waited patiently. Before having had entered this place, Sen had made some plans with his "demon". Though needless to say, the entity was displeased as usual about his approach.

His patience would soon paid off as he heard the creaking noise of a door opening. Judging from the direction where it came from, the largest door opened up to reveal the figure of a female entering the hall. The soldier had already loaded the bolt into the bow and aimed for the standing target--

!!?

Then a large boom interrupted him, causing his finger to retract at the last moment before glancing at the direction of a very flamboyant male. A man who had finally entered the fray.

Great. He's in here.

Now that the two targets he had to kill just entered, Sen would have to make quick adjustments to his battle plan. As he hid from the door behind, both hands were already busy doing two things at once. The crossbow was held with his right while the left forearm served to prop it up for better aim. The weapon finally shot out the deadly bolt at the head of his female target who did not seem to notice where he was until maybe he finally made his move.

The left hand that held his cellphone had just pressed a single button to summon his demon. Which finally brought forth the Black Knight from the emptiness of the void. As he finished making these two actions simultaneously, the soldier would be quick to close the door to at least protect him from attack of some degree as he scurried backwards.

It would not be difficult to notice the very loud entrance the odd man seemed to take when he made his way way inside the hall, even with ears as sensitive as hers. Once more, he attempted to flirt with her. Irina did not change her face, but did look at him. "Oooh, his friend looks....fairly inedible...." Ala said with a disappointed frown at the offensive man's demon. "Don't worry. Who knows, maybe he is worth a talk, I would rather not ris-" she managed before catching something via her right ear. She would turn to see the door behind the throne to the side, a man preparing a projectile of sorts. She was lucky she heard him, or else that arrow would have hit her. She had plenty of time to quickly run away from the side entrance in which the other loud man was on the other side, and avoid the arrow quite easily despite the man's apparent good aim. "Tsk! And here I thought I would have this easy...." she said. She would see him close the door, an action that she did not understand, as the pathways probably lead back here anyway. She had little doubt unless something changed, he would not be going anywhere. Then again, what a perfect target to go for.

She would run around the table away from the offensive man towards the door where the recent escapee had went. She would open the door, and Ala, following her would summon a bolt of lightning emanating forward from her body into the hall. Irina was out of the way, so she was just fine, however, the lightning would strike into the hall fast and hard, filling the entire hall with its blast. The man, running away, most likely would not be able to avoid it whether he was looking her way or not. Even if he had reflexes, the lightning would not be stopped by a crossbow. The man may be dead or at the very least gravely wounded. After the attacked left Ala's body and went down the hall, she would close the door, standing to the side of it and looking at the offensive man. "Who was that?" Ala asked Irina. Irina did not answer. Why would it even matter?

Cain was well aware of a third party. He wasn't exactly quiet, and with his psyched up ears he could hear him quite easily. His eyes were already on the door, even through his speech, as the third party had been there well before he even arrived in the room. Now Cain had a few choices here. He could attempt to get the drop on this individual hiding, or simply let them try their hand and demolish him at their leisure. Seeing how Cain was a rather laid back guy, he preferred the latter and would only actively look to kill this other the moment he became an annoyance. Well more of an annoyance since he was certainly getting in the way of this "date" he had with the blonde. When the action popped off and the woman ducked suddenly, he saw the bolt jab into the wall behind her. His mind instantly began to work. She seemed to have some amazing reflexes or could have known the guy/girl was there before. Perhaps she had prior knowledge of his coming here, or she had similar senses to Cain himself? Next, this other person was the cowardly type who attacked from a distance and ran. This meant he would be a pain to keep wandering around freely with the potential of blind siding, obviously meaning he'd be the first target to take out unless the woman came to attack Cain herself.

She seemed to immediately bolt towards the door where the projectile came from, and as she went that way, Cain kept his back to the wall while watching in the direction of the two. He made his way to the position she was at previously, and would forcefully pull the bolt from the wall. It could come in handy later. Libertas followed behind her master, keeping an eye on the two potential threats while hovering low to the ground. "Man this is pretty crazy, huh? Guess no one here likes to take it easy." Cain gave his care free grin as he spin the arrow in his right hand with impressive skill. He did witness the strong attack from the woman who used an impressive burst of lightning to try and fry the person who was in the hall. Cain was curious if he was truly dead or not. Tapping his foot on the ground, he tilted his head nonchalantly. "Yosh! That was pretty impressive, senorita! So did you get a kill confirm, or is your kill cam dried out?" He used his hand to mimic a gun and pulled the "trigger" on his own temple, acting as if he were committing suicide with a gun.

He was vulnerable, Sen knew that. With his back to the door when it could open in any time, the soldier curly nodded at the Black Knight to initiate Plan B since the previous "A" has failed. Quickly as it drew out its blade, a flurry of slashes sliced the floor that is a few feet ahead of him, creating a gaping hole that is big enough to fit both of them. Immediately the demon had jumped down to the lower floor. Another crossbow bolt had been adjusted onto the weapon at the same time the floor met its timely destruction. Just as Sen was about to follow suit, he heard the door creak open from behind. Danger. It prompted him to run as fast as he could. Then he viciously dropped down to quickly slide towards the opening. As he saw the girl being enveloped with sparks of electricity from looking behind, Sen was already falling into the opening he made for himself.

Just through such a small split second, he was able to let loose a bolt at her torso before being able to fall down safely. Narrowly missing the bolt of lightning that would've fried him into mere crisps. Sen didn't stop to hear if any pain could emanate from the hole. It would be much foolhardy to stay in one place than any given time. That knowledge in mind, he quickly ran off to the nearest set of stairs that would bring him to his next destination as his demon followed him.

Irina would not look inside after closing the door, meaning the bolt would have just hit the door first before her. Though the sound effect of a whizz then a thump of the arrow hitting said door did make her jump a bit. She would look inside to see a large hole in the wall. Apparently the man made it out for the most part. Whether he did or not mattered little. Closing the door once more, Ala would remain in front of it in case he decided to come through that door. IF he came out of another door, she would be ready to evade his cowardly sniping. She would move by the table, ready to duck in case the arrows came.

Looking to the boy, he had gone over the large doors that Irina had come in, grabbing the arrow that missed her. When he made his spiel, Irina scoffed. “I suppose he was lucky. Now what about you? You seem to be taking all this a bit light-hearted. Should I expect you as an enemy?” she asked. Ala watched over the door, but would take glimpses every few seconds to where Irina and the boy were, in case she needed to spring into action. “This boy looks like a spicy meal,” Ala said, licking her lips. “Hush,” was Irina’s only response; to which Ala gave a loud sigh and kept watching and taking looks. She would be waiting for a move from him or a move from the coward who escaped if he somehow made it back.

Now that he had taken the stairs, the only way was to go back up. However, the paths would only lead back to the main door of the castle's throne room. It's a really strange architectural design. But it frustrates in executing or creating any forms of strategy for himself effectively. As Sen rushed through the hallways, he tried to quiet his advance so as to not give away his position.

The crossbow has already been loaded by the time he arrived up to the main floor where the throne room was. So far, it looks like no one tried to attack him as only the sight of the halls greeted his vision behind. He needed to get some idea where those people were. But how? He tried to listen into the floor to detect any movement, but nothing seemed to be coming up. This was starting to make him nervous.

But he really didn't have much of a choice except opening the door.

And so he did. Through it, the sight of the two people greeted him right there. Panic normally would've gotten to him, but he had already let loose another bolt to the chandelier before anyone else could react and he immediately closed the door for cover. As the glass object would fall right onto the table, its shards would become shrapnel to dig and cut into the flesh of his enemies to cause bleeding. Like some make-shift grenade out of glass.

With the door closed to give him some cover, Sen ran far enough to quickly swerve around a corner to the right to avoid being hit by what magic the enemy would respond with.
