Someone was Busy (Maya/Cherry)

Cherry would rest her chin on top of her right knee as she thought more about Maya. She could take bites out of bricks without it hurting her teeth and she could seemingly eat anything at all without getting sick. Could Snow do this aswell or was this a ability that only Maya could pull off? They where similar in some ways, what with not being able to remember their past and looking a awful lot like demons. Which was enough to make Cherry believe that there was a connection between the two. In the end though, those where pretty much the only two traits the two shared. They acted totally different. So there was no real way to tell for sure if one could have the same ability as the other, Maya didn't have any magical boxes or grumpy guardians after all. Maybe that was Snow's special ability? Maybe whatever kin Maya and Snow where apart of each had some sort of special power to set them apart? That would be pretty cool! Cherry would have to try and find some more of their kind and see what they could all do!

"What is......... Maya's favorite thing............ To eat?" The blonde asked, curious to know how all this strange stuff tasted. She knew the glass in the Field of glass had a weird sort of taste, maybe she'd have to try licking some bricks or metal some time? Definitely something the girl would have to keep in mind. Cherry clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth as she thought of another good question to ask. She had a feeling that she already knew the answer, but better to ask. "Has Maya............ Ever ran into somebody else........... That looked like Maya?"

Maya continued to eat the brick she had picked up, if Cherry could only eat certain things, it made sense to her to not eat that much and try to leave it for Cherry, then Cherry could stay healthy, and as she chewed on the brick, she was asked a question and she thought about it, as she popped the edge of the brick into her mouth and gently nibbled at it as she thought about the answer to that question.. What did she like eating? her Favorite thing? well Brick was nice and it was everywhere... maybe wood? no not that it was nice though different from brick, Maybe ice? it tasted nice and it made her feel less thirsty.

As she continued to nibble on the edge of the brick, she thought of that food Cherry gave her when they first met, that tasted really nice... so did the food Cherry left here... and the food Cherry brought now.. Well then that answered it didn't it? Finishing off the brick she looked at Cherry "Food Cherry bring... Maya Faaaa ..vor... it..." she said sounding out the word.

Then another question she thought about that as well as she grabbed a metal pole and started to nibble on that, thinking again to all the things she had seen.. and then was ether attacked by or ended up running from her... and none looked like her, but.. Cherry said they were the same didn't she? Her eye looked over at Cherry a moment and looked her over. Yes Cherry said they were the same.. but they didn't look the same and Cherry asked about things that looked like her and finally as she finished off the metal pole she shook her head "Maya... no.. see.. things.. like.. Maya"

Cherry could barely contain her snickering as Maya drawed out the word 'favorite.' She knew it was probably because the little girl probably didn't have the best grasp on the word, but she couldn't help but find it to be very cute. "Me is glad........... Maya likes me food.......... Maya can eat all the food......... She wants........." She did notice that it took the one-eyed girl a little bit to answer her question though, which would normally be pretty understandable. A question like that took some time to answer, but since Cherry assumed that Maya mostly ate the things that where all over the floor. Was a butch of clothes and metal really that good that it she would have to think about the question for that long? If Maya ever looked away from her, she'd reach for a brick that the smaller girl hadn't taken any bites out of yet and would take one long lick of it. Before quickly tossing it to the side and trying to act like nothing happened.

Welp, nothing new came out of that answer. But she didn't mind. Cherry would just have to dig a little deeper, this wouldn't really be a mystery if she could just ask one question and find out the answer would it? No, she knew there would be alot more work to do, even if she would like it better if the investigation was that easy. "Other then me........... Has Maya ever seen......... Another not-human......... Like me and Maya?" The question was similar to her last one, but she had a different goal in mind. Either way after she would answer that question, Cherry would move on to yet another question. "Has Maya ever seen something odd?......... Like something with black eyes........... Or demons about to attack people......... But Maya wasn't actually there?" It was a hard question to put into words that Maya could understand, so instead of possibly digging a deeper hole for herself. Cherry would just use a more simple word and hope that Maya would understand it. "Has Maya ever seen a vision........... Of the future?"

Snow had one, Cherry had one, Drak had one, it seemed that many people shared the same vision. So it wouldn't be out of the question to guess that Maya may have seen the same thing.

Maya looked confused at the sound Cherry made before she started to talk again, but she didn't seem to ask about it, but she smiled a bit and nodded as she took a few Berries to eat but not to much, it was the only food Cherry could eat after all and she didn't wanna eat it all up on her, the small girl also picked up a bit of Rebar and started to gently nibble on it, much like a gerbil would nibble on it's food and she stayed close to Cherry as she ate happy to not be alone for once, and in a warm place that wasn't that sandy place, it was weird to be here in the cold place but to be kind of comfy and warm, but she was glad she could be.

Then Cherry asked her another question and she looked back at Cherry, another like her? she had to think about it... but as she nibbled away slowly on the rebar nothing came to mind. and as the rebar fully vanished into her mouth she chewed a bit more then swallowed "No... Maya... Not.. See any... Like... Maya.. or like.... Cherry" she said thinking about it. After answering she was looking around for something else in reach to nibble on but then she was asked another question, and she tilted her head to the side to think about it, as she did it made her hair fall to the side as well and Cherry could see a new bandage on her head, which she had seemingly tried to hide "Maya... No... See... thing" she answered as she reached for a stick and started to nibble on it next.

Though then the lest question came and Maya thought about it "Maya... no... See... Thing... Called... That...O...Or Maybe.... Maya did? But... not know... it called... that?" she said thoughtfully as she nibbled away on the stick.

Thankfully it seemed like Cherry was able to sneak a lick in without being caught. Which was great since explaining why she was licking a brick would be awkward to a normal person and being forced to break it down to Maya would be even worse. "Nobody........... Huh?" So it seemed that whatever race or sickness or whatever it was that connected Maya and Snow must have been very rare. Before Cherry was given a chance to mull over this new info she saw Maya move her head, her hair moving out of the way to let the taller blonde see a new bandage. The moment she saw this Cherry moved a tad closer to her, her hand reaching out to gently rub the tip of her finger against the bandage. "Where did you get this?" Cherry asked, before quickly correcting herself so that Maya didn't end up answering a question she didn't care about. "How........... Did you......... Get hurt?"

It was rather worrying. If it was just a scratch or something minor every once and awhile that would be something different, accidents happen to the best of everyone after all. But the sheer amount of bandages on her body was really starting to make Cherry feel unsettled. How many times a day was she getting hurt for Maya to have to wear this many band aids? More importantly how bad where the wounds that they she seemingly was wearing them all the time? Sure she only met her two times, but the fact that she saw none of the band aids move at all in that span of time only made her feel more worried. Really the only thing that would make this less worrying was if Cherry found out that Maya was wearing all these bandages as like a fashion statement. Even then that would still be pretty worrying, just not in the same way. Besides somehow the teen doubted that Maya of all people cared about fanshion. Nevertheless Cherry let her worry get the best of her. "May......... Cherry see......... Under some of your.......... Bandages?"

At this point Cherry didn't really care about her answer to the vision question. The question about her health was far more important, but it was still nice to know that Maya did not see any visions. She wasn't sure if that meant anything at all, but it was a nice detail to tuck into the back of her head.

Maya continued to nibble on the stick for the time being though when Cherry moved closer she looked back up to her and as she felt her hand on the bandage she seemed a bit worried, even as Cherry asked here were she got it, she was scared before to tell her, she thought Cherry would abandon her if she found out.. it wasn't her only new wound.. but she had not wanted Cherry to abandon her cause she was always injured... but.. Cherry said she wouldn't.. so maybe she really wouldn't? as she sat there Maya avoided eye contact, which due to her large eye was rather obvious she was doign so. "Maya... W...When g..getting...t..things...w..was Seen.. by... humans... T..they hurt... Maya..." she said as she seemed to try to keep her other arm away from Cherry after admitting what happened.

As Cherry asked to see under the bandaged Maya still avoided eye contact but nodded "o...Okay..." she said moving to face Cherry so she could see the arm she was keeping to the far side of herself so she couldn't see it, and she lifted the sleeve and there was a larger bandage there with what was clearly a new wound, in fact all the bandages on her were new wounds, she even had some Bruises that she didn't have the last time Cherry was there. "H... Humans... Seen Maya... Cased... Maya ran... but..." she trailed off.

Cherry felt her worry grow even worse as Maya's large eye moved to avoid looking at her own two grey one's. What could have happened that made her so nervous? Before the smaller girl gave her mind a chance to come up with some insane fantasy about what may have happened she gave her a answer. "Humans.........." She repeated softly under her breath. She could understand it, she didn't like it, but she could understand it. She was going to do the same thing to this one-eyed gal when they first meet. But she still hated that Maya was getting harmed. The look on the teen's face became darker when Maya showed off her arm. What the hell did they do to her? "Oh gods, Maya im sorry." Is this what was happening to her before Cherry found her? What always happens when she is away? Cherry looked away from Maya for a second, trying to think of a way to try and stop this from happening, it's not like she could just stay with her all day, every day after all. But she had to do something.

"Maya........... Cherry has more gifts..........." Grabbing her backpack she'd spend a few seconds digging around before she found a item she picked up on a whim while traveling. The blonde would then pull out a single shard of broken glass. It was decently sized, with a long, sharp, and jagged point towards one of the end of it. Cherry slowly made a move to hand the shard over to Maya, the sharp end pointed at herself rather then the shorter girl. "If a human or animal tries to hurt Maya.......... And Maya cannot run.............. Then Maya pokes them with this............. Really hard, as hard as Maya can......." It felt weird, having to explain to her that she would have to stab somebody if she got attacked. But Cherry's mother had to explain the same thing to her when she was young. It was harsh yes, but in this world a weapon and a basic idea on how to wield it is a need, not a want. "Be careful with this Maya............... Only poke bad people............... This is dangerous............. Can hurt people real bad............... Maya should only hurt bad people.............."

Once she finished telling Maya about the basic 'rules' of stabbing Cherry would focus on a different issuse. "Who where the people who hurt Maya...........? What did they look like...........? Where were they..........?" She wanted to talk with them, hopefully if they knew that Maya was not a demon they'd lay off and tell other people to not hurt her. If they didn't lay off, well then. Cherry would have to have a different type of 'talk' with them.

Maya looked at the Look on Cherry's face and she looked away, trying to keep from making eye contact as Cherry clearly wasn't happy with what she seen, and Maya grabbed another bar of metal and started to nibble on it again nervously, as Cherry seemed to be thinking of something but then she mentioned having a gift for her and Maya looked over to her and then she was given a shard of ice? glass? she looked at tit, it wasn't cold so it wasn't Ice, and then she looked at Cherry as she explained, and then she said it would hurt people badly and Maya looked back at the glass "but... Maya... Doesn't... Want to hurt... Hurt makes people... Sad... Maya knows... Maya is always hurt..." she said looking back at Cherry as she said that.

She looked back to the glass "Maya... Just... Not... Want.. Hurt... Anyone..." she said before she looked back to Cherry as she asked her about the people "Maya... Was... Seen... By... them... Maya... Was searching... Humans.... Were... Searching too... Maya Didn't See them.... They moving... Not... home... Was at.... Large... Open place..." she said talking about the park in the High-rise area.

Cherry let a soft sigh escape her lips as Maya seemed against the idea of stabbing somebody. She could understand it of course. She was like this when her mom told her about it the first time too, but self defense was just something that you had to come to terms with. If she didn't this is just going to happen more and more. Maybe even something worse. "Cherry knows............ But bad people will hurt more people if good people don't stop them.............. You can only stop them by hurting them back............... Cherry isn't saying you have to hurt bad people......... Maya should always try to run away first............. But sometime's Maya will need to fight........... This is what the glass is for........" It was so hard to have to explain this. But right now all Cherry could hope for is that Maya would take these lessons to heart and that she would be strong enough to actually take aim and strike when the moment happens.

"So you didn't see them? Shoot!" She groaned under her breath, annoyed that they where going to get away with this. Shaking her head Cherry would stand back up on her feet and would pet Maya's head. "Cherry has to go now Maya............ Stay safe and remember............. Sometimes to protect yourself, you have to hurt others............." With that, Cherry would turn around and leave Maya on her own. The blonde making a little mental note in her mind to come back soon and check up on her. That girl would need a whole lot of watching.

Maya nodded, she didn't want to hurt anyone though, running was always easier... but she didn't want Cherry to worry if she could help it, she just hoped she wouldn't have to hurt anyone, she gently placed the glass down near her so she can reach for it if anyone tried to come in after her, but for now she ate more bricks and rebar till she felt full, "S...See you... Later...Cherry" she said as Cherry left, even if she didn't come back Maya was glad she had at least been willing to spend time with her up till now.

With that she started to sort the piles and to make a little nest out of all the scrap cloth and clothing she had found and curling up in it and simply watched the fire
